yeah good good getting uh get some relaxation it how how are you doing I didn't go to cam today uh season 2 member day only as we're recording this on on uh Wednesday not a season ticket holder so uh I have had season ticket holders reach out to me and send me tickets in the past which I do appreciate that uh when they can't make it but uh not up at camp we are recording at our original time now so like people are going to get this podcast in their normal time you know next week that might change with other Camp things going on but the Chiefs Alpha practice for Thursday Alpha practice for Friday they got a game on Saturday y they're off on Sunday and they won't be back at practice until Monday so Wednesday as recording this podcast they're in the midst of their final practice for a minute and then they got a preseason game coming up it seems crazy that it's already here also when those players get back on Monday that is really the bowels of Hell okay you you left St Joe you're finally out and then you're back like that's every time I've talk to anybody with the Chiefs player coach you know front office whatever like they always say the same thing like that last week that's just a pits man because like that you finally like you had a game you hit you know you finally hit somebody else right feel like you're getting somewhere you're getting toward the end of the training camp you know portion of the schedule the for the season the summer um but they come back they still have four more practices so they'll have Monday Tuesday Wednesday and then Thursday is like it's a military appreciation day like it's kind of basic a glorified walk through right um and then they break camp and the the amount of screeching tires y here may resonate throughout the Heartland uh as they get out of there they've got two home games the rest of the way they play uh they play the Lions I believe their second preseason game then and then the Bears right yeah both both are an our so yeah Chiefs uh you know gearing up getting ready crazy it's that time of year where we get the unofficial depth chart season we're going to talk about the Chiefs depth chart talk about the Broncos death charge Souls because like if you guys know the show you know that Matt and I are going to dunk on the Broncos that's just a ride of passage for this show um obviously Harrison Booker got a new deal we'll talk about that who the chief should pay next I thought Nate Taylor had some interesting reporting on everything that was going on on mly weird games so if you haven't listened to that show go listen to that show it's around the 55 minute Mark I know that there's a lot of Tom Foolery in that show I I'll give you that time stamp here if you're listening to this show 55 minute Mark that's when they talks about it um with everything that's going on but listen to this podcast all the way through first and then go back to only weird games and then we'll talk about some other stuff going on on the NFL that's what we do here we don't just we talk about the Chiefs but also you know League wide stuff as well so if once we talk about Brandon IOU you could turn it off I guess but like just know like this is the scheme of the podcast if you're new here um let's talk about this first un official dubs chart Matt you get a chance to look at anything that suck out to you uh on first glance no I mean not really but you know like it's not something I take very seriously because I know the team doesn't take it very seriously um mcole hardman's not the top six for receivers true interesting uh Louis re zabit I believe was the fifth running back listed um Sky Moore and Justin Ross were both in the top six for the receivers yep canius Tony was roughly 1198 uh at receiver thought was interesting so much they starting left tackling those rise there right um it was really pretty straightforward like Kelvin Joseph was listed pretty far back on the depth chart corner just kind of surprising um based on the Reps he's got in K but yeah I mean for the most part it was nothing that you were surprised by it was pretty yeah pretty standard stuff I thought it was funny Carson steals listed at fullback so they they're they're officially listing him at fullback when he's been obviously a running back and um he's been getting a lot of reps in I do love me some Carson steel maybe they do keep a fullback I really doubt it since last year they did it but um you're right there's not a whole lot of straight for there's not a whole lot of uh things up in the air with this team right we talked about that I think last week of like you know who the starters are your position battle is who's the last wide receiver going to make the roster who's the fifth or six linebacker who's who's going to be a dend in the dend rotation like not a lot to talk about this team and like this it kind of goes into the conversation about like Brandon iuk a little bit too of like they've they don't have a ton of cap space right and usually good teams don't have cap space because they're paying players like that's just kind of how this works and there's not a whole lot of things that are up in the air here because they're really good yeah once you start paying your quarterback you know lot of cap space yeah that's just that's reality and you know listen I I mean OB been to Packers and Vikings camps I've been to the chief's Camp starting on Monday I'll go to the Lions of Bangals the Colts and the Bears and I'll also see the Cardinals as a joint practice but the reality of it is when I go to those camps and before I go I make notes because I'm a professional and stuff and so I will sit there and um I'll look at okay like what are some things I want to watch what are some positions I want to watch the Bengals are a a team I think most people would say yeah is a contending football team is a very good football team I can give you a bunch of things with the Bengals and I'm looking at and going okay like a Marius Mims rookie tackle what does he look like I'm looking at the backfield s Joe Mixon you know Chase Brown like what does it look like I'm looking at the Battle for who the hell is goingon to be the third receiver is it Isis is it is it Tren ear like who is it um I'm looking defensively now cam sample towards is ailles he's out for the year like what does that rotation look like um I'm looking at the back the back end of defense like brand new safety room for them they bring back B Bell they bring in Gino Stone A's gon a corner like I just ripped off five things that are real things like what is that those are real questions Baltimore I'm not going to their Camp um I think Albert breer's doing that for us but if you look at like Baltimore Baltimore with the a game last year I I mean three F offensive line is brand new and Clown's not there anymore and stone is not there anymore on the back end and I I get sit there and go through a ton of stuff about you know who's who's the number two receiver after Z flowers and so on and so on and so forth you go to Chiefs camp and you're like all right so who who's gonna make the roster that I'm just gonna forget about come week one because you're never gonna see him anyway like the only real thing is love tackle and J Mia won that battle fairly quickly like now the question's going to become look on Saturday we're watching the game we're all sitting there watching it the only thing I care about other like them not getting injured how does that kid play yeah I don't care what the score of the game I don't care if they win or lose I don't get like if Mahomes goes four of 10 for 49 yards who cares like is anyone really like oh my God he forgot how to play football like it none of this matters I don't care if Kelsey drops a pass like it it doesn't matter sure yeah you love to see him come out and play great it's like it doesn't really matter I want to see how Su Matea plays against a group of that if they play everybody they've got a couple of really good pass structures like what do you see out of him and if you see good stuff I think that's great but like really that's it I mean other than that you are really talking about just depth battles that's all it like who's going to be the last receiver who's gonna be the last linebacker that's it everything else is already pretty much set Stu I love that how you how you laid that out because it is so rare like this is like the teams operate like this even the 49ers who are in the Super Bowl last year are having a whole lot of consternation inside of their their building like with with everything going on they have a lot of question marks go going around their their place too it's so like this this is not normal to like have a roster that's like so set there there's nothing out here like I mean when I'm at a camp I I like Tweet videos out of like Luis ree simit like oh he he could make the roster but like that's the level of guys we're talking about sey bosan we're talking about suy Boseman level guys we're talking about you know Fabian LoveIt we're talking about guys that they've brought in on udfa contracts of like maybe sneaking in which I I just want like Chiefs fans to like realize like that's not how a football team usually operate like you usually have holes they don't have them and and here's the thing too is that like they keep locking down like these pieces too like they keep being able to pay everybody which is also one of the things it's just like maybe you can just pay everybody because they're figuring out I don't know well they so two things like to that point I was at Vikings camp and they signed Fabian Moro and Fabian Moro immediately was a starting cornerback like just immediately they're like that's fine he's in there now um that would never happen against c yeah like ever um and then as far as like paying everybody I like they you know they paid a lot of guys you know they they traded away Tyreek Hill and you know they rebuilt their whole defense and they let Tyron Matthew walk I mean that to me is Brett V's caps out they had an offseason where they let travarus Wen walk and I can tell you for a fact I report out at the time they did not want to let it walk they tried to sign him yeah they got out bid then they were willing to let Tyron Matthew go and they traded Tyreek Hill and they have not lost the Super Bowl since insane like they've won every Super Bowl since they did that I also remember one night uh I assume most people know this maybe some don't the night that they signed Joe Toney I was up till 3:00 am. texting back and forth with some with the Chiefs because they were very aggressively trying to also sign Willam yeah they were just trying to bring them both in simultaneously uh and came very close to doing it look I the point is you're right like their roster is so good that I think sometimes it almost does kind of get taken for granted by fans and that's not a criticism of fans it's just like look you become almost used to it like human that's human nature yeah yeah right right like this is what we are this is who we are what this team's done is ridiculous and it and it really I mean look it starts obviously with with Andy and Brett and the coaching staff and then you know Pat and Travis and Chris but what the real mean potatoes at this AG is the way they drafted the last four years when you draft like that yeah that that's when you to your point that's why they can keep so many guys because they have so many cheap point I mean if you go and look okay so vich his his first draft that he was in charge of was the one right after Mahomes 2018 yeah that it's one of the worst drafts you'll ever seen it's bad it's not good Brean speaks was the number one pick there and he was the second round and they they took naughty who ended up being for a third round pick five yeah like yeah since then their draft classes have just been like outrageously productive so 2019 they don't have a first round pick because they got Frank Clark with that pick they took Hardman they took Thor Hill in the second round which are both for second round picks those are good picks yeah Colin sld in the third round good pick Rashad Penton it's fent in the sixth round F Nick alen gry in the seventh round 2020 we all know CH didn't pan out the way they wanted then they took Willie Gay Jr in the second round sne in the fourth round Dan in the fifth round 2021 Nick Bolton Creed Humphrey Noah gray Trey Smith and they didn't have a pick before pick 58 yep okay and then of course the famous One 2022 McDuffy carus Brian Cook Leo chanal Joshua Williams Jaylen Watson Isaiah Peko and Azie jnes I mean that is there are teams that go four years without finding that many guys to contribute to right and then last year you know we'll see with Fu that remains an uncertainty rasid rice ju morrris Jamari Conor and then this year looks like already that they've done a pretty good job at this draft class like yeah when you draft like that you're gonna kick a lot of people's asses like you have moles and that coaching staff and then you bring in three or four guys every year that can play you're going to kill teams I mean we don't have the time I'm not going to bore everybody if I did that with the Chargers draft classes of the last four years or the Raiders or the Broncos you would be stunned at the difference and that that's why they're as good as who they are that's the thing too is they're hitting in these draft classes at um traditionally High positional value positions right like with with left tackle they have a couple of options there that are on not left tackle contract money and they're spending their money on positions that aren't traditional valued like the Chiefs used to Value positional value I'm going see how many times I can say value in this segment um more than they do now it seems like you know once once they paid M homes they're going to be paying top money to a center more than likely like that just seems like that's a done deal it just every everyone that like I talked to feels very confident in Creed Humphrey being a g City chief they're going to pay Nick Bolton more than likely pretty high end of the market in the linebacker which is not a necessarily a value position which isn't a very high value position could they pay Trace Smith too like Nate Taylor was talking about that the Chiefs have interest in keeping both of those guys in Kansas City guard's not a very high value position kicker is not a high value position like there's they are paying players that are not at quote unquote high value positions they just resigned a defensive tackle to a mega deal and like Chris is different right Chris Jones is different but it's still a defensive tackle the positional value that this team has is not the traditional positional value that I think every other franchise has because they have drafted so well at those high value positions now I'm done saying value premium positions yes uh uh yeah look they when you think of the positions that cost a lot of money typically you're talking about receiver obviously quarterback left tackle Corner Edge rusher now think of who plays those positions the Chiefs right Xavier worthy Rashid rice Hollywood brown two guys R rookie deals one guy's one year 7 million yeah cornerback they're all on rookie deals every one of them's on a rookie contract Edge rusher a meta who's making 10 million Dan is making what 8 million and Carl off this is on a rookie deal yeah left tackle rookie deal for the next four years he pans out okay Mahomes is the only guy they're paying and mahomes's contract is such that they can basically pay him anywhere between 25 and 65 million in a year and feel pretty good about it like they they have been non-traditional I mean Kelsey up until recently was basically paid right like a number two to three receiver like he was basically paid uh the same as Gabe Davis like I mean that I so they they have been non-traditional that way they paid safeties for a long time whether it's Eric Barry or Tyron Matthew and Justin Reed not that he's paid a fortune but he's you know paid well for safety they don't like I and I I give them a lot of credit for that they don't care it's like look we drafted all these positions well so we can pay the kicker we can pay a defensive tackle who to your point really is just pay like in a league pass rusher because that's what he is anyway yeah um but like I had somebody ask me kind of in an odd way like they're like well do you think it's a bad idea that the Chiefs are resetting the market with a kicker I was like it's six million bucks right like who who gives you [ __ ] I mean let me ask this question to anyone out there listen how much do you think the bills would be willing to pay Harrison bucker yeah how much you think they would have been pay willing to pay to have him on that team last year in the divisional round they needed a field goal to extend their season because I got to tell you I have no doubt in my mind he would hit that field goal oh yeah like how many G fans do you know that let's say bass hits that field goal how many Gs fans do you know have said this sentence to you it doesn't matter even if he hits it it makes no difference because the CH would have gone down the field and bucker would have just won the game anyway and they're right they're right anything inside like 60 yards you're just like that's it's good it doesn't matter right I mean $6 million to have that piece of Mind in the playoffs are you kidding me right all day all day there's no way they win the Super Bowl last year Harrison bucker zero chance he has more kicks in the Super Bowl made field goals than anyone in the history of the sport it's insane in the playoffs on his last 35 field goal attempts he missed his first ever playoff attempt since then he is 32 of 35 and on kicks over 50 yards in the playoffs now mind you it's freezing and it's a lot of times Outdoors for him in the playoffs Outdoors most of the time 50 plus yards six of seven I mean for six million Buck I think of a lot worse way teams to spent six million bucks this offseason Harrison VI it is one of those things too right I get people's problems with positional value there but it is the sense of security and the cap is going to Boom so it's like $6 million what is what is $6 million in 2025 NFL right like what is what is that in the grand scheme of things because we're talking about again this is the same kind of conversation with with with Creed Humphrey when you look at his Market he resets the market like like 13 and a half 14 million right like that's how he resets the market and you're like that seems like a a great deal like what let's do that right right and it seems like one of those things too was like Cap's going up this is a a a position that does matter a whole lot kind of like kicker kicker matters a whole lot might not be a premium there we go a premium position but it do matter it matters a whole hell of a lot when the guy you have lining up you're like this [ __ ] guy's going to miss well Harrison buck got hurt remember when Harrison bucker got hurt they had to bring in like practice squad guys it matter then it was an adventure right I mean yeah I'm in what was his name Amon amola right yeah that's what I was gonna say I was like is that right yeah am yeah Mt amandola yeah yeah that Colts game I still have nightmares that game okay H how how important was it when lelliot was on the team it kind of mattered that like you just if you got a great kicker you keep him I was saying this on the radio to Jason Anon here bunker might be the first guy ever seriously to never make an all pro team or a pro bowl and go to the whole fan yeah that is actually insane that he hasn't made either of those because he's always behind Tucker right but when you look at it and Tucker force is goingon to go to all but when you look at Harrison bucker career he's a three-time Super Bowl champion he's 89.1% on field goals he's had three years by the way he's been up over 90% um I mean the only year that really hurt him was 2022 when he got heard he was never really right he was 75% other than that he's never been worse than 88.9% in any given year I mean he's he's ridiculous the guy never misses and in his career in the regular season on kicks from 40 to 49 yards he is 48 of 55 but just doesn't miss and on kicks from 50 plus yards he's 28 of 40 and in the last four years un kcks 50 plus yards if I can do this quickly he's 19 of 25 I mean that's 76% like if you line him up from 50 plus yards over the last four years any we're talking 60 61 and hey he's 76% to make it and he plays at Arrowhead it's not like he plays in Detroit with a DL or something like right was AR Stadium it could be windy it could be very cold weather 76% from 50 plus he's not bad yeah it's uh it's a contract that I don't mind at all truthfully especially because of like he also didn't blow the market out of the water I think like when you hear highest paid contract in NFL history for a kicker you're thinking holy cow how much money he only made like what 400,000 more than the next guy or something like that like it's not that much more than whoever was at the top of the market I don't know off the top of my head but it wasn't he didn't blow he the market out of the water not all kickers are making $2 million and he's making six that's not how it's working but um no I I think the contract works good I think I'm fine with it I've got no quals not my money so even if I did have qualms with it I wouldn't wouldn't do anything like they wouldn't listen to me um but before we take a break uh Matt I do think it's really interesting to talk about kind of the the conundrum that the Chiefs find themselves in with who do they pay next um it really seems seemed like it was a given that Nick Bolton was going to be the guy that paid next and now as we get closer to the season starting Nick Bolton I believe said in an interview that like he just kind of wants yeah he wants to let the season play out see how see how it happens but now Nate Taylor as I said was reporting on the athletic report on only weird games that the Chiefs are inclined to keep both Trey Smith and Creed hrey if they can lock them down early it's a very U um kind of an emotional play for the for the Chiefs because those two guys are great friends uh they've known each other since Nate said this is sophomore year in high school I didn't realize they went that far back but they know each other for they've known each other for a long time they're best friends on and off the field they're trying to play to that for both of those guys understandable look I'm a recruiter for Ruckers I understand the emotional play um yeah I do think it it'll be interesting if they are able to sway both of these guys and that probably includes Trey Smith taking considerable discount for what he would get in the open market I would think uh so prob get this in a second but I have to know have you taken the scet knights to Glory yet uh no I lost actually last night in the quarterfinals to Florida State got obliterated by Florida State but just had a really big recruiting class top I think it was top 15 landed five five stars so uh we're on the up and up yeah tell you what you get five five stars to Piscataway New Jersey I tell you something I've been to Piscataway okay you you get five people call to scataway New Jersey go had other options you've done something um I uh look so my own reporting on this and obviously Nate is beyond reproach um before Camp I reached out to some people to know about this and I was essentially told look would love to extend all three of them that's the goal um but I always was try to how to word this correctly I always got the sense that humphy would be the one that was the quote unquote easiest one to do right because he is going to cost the least you would think you would think now could argue Bolton dependent upon where you think he's going to fall on that that scale we talked about that last show where like the scale of pay inside linebackers is just ridiculous it's all over the place but I think but that's what makes Bolton's contract really difficult humph is easy humph is like all right you're gonna give him you know a million or $500,000 a year more than the the top of the market you're done like it's not that hard to negotiate that contract and paying him top of the market money is not crippling it gets 14 million a year right like you were saying I mean you're give him four years 56 million you know figure out the guaranteed money 40 something like that you're good I think that one is by far the easiest y I've also said here and I'm sure many other places um for a while now if I were the Chiefs I would pay Trey Smith before I pay Nick Bolton that is my I I believe that throughout the offseason I think it's almost been like you know well they've got to pay Humphrey and we all mostly agree on that and then it's like we both a quarterback of the defense and the more you think about it like they just signed Drew shank for three years 19 million bucks you're GNA what you're going to really pay Bolton astronomically more than Drew tranquil right he's not better than Drew tranquil right I mean and that's not a knock on Nick Bol that's more like he drew Tran Nick Bolton is not better than Drew Tran is like I I just don't know like now now look I'm not saying they wouldn't pay him more than Tranco Tranco in my opinion took a deal that is yeah he should have got more money yeah God like but am I paying him like he's traine Edmonds no like I'm I'm sorry I'm not I'm not giving Nick Bolton $18 million a year because the the reality of it is he's a very good player he's not a great player he's not like I'd pay him like he's Patrick queen and I think that's fair but Trey Smith is interesting in this say so Robert HUD blew the market up it's five in 100 now right yeah but here's the reality of it Trey Smith is not a pro bowler he's not at all pro it's true it's not to say he's not a very good player because I think Trey Smith is a fantastic player I think he's a pro bowl caliber player who hasn't been named to a pro absolutely he also plays next to two guys who are all Pros like he is the third of those three guys and one other thing to this that I actually think might factor in so if you look at Joe toney's contract Joe Toney is signed through this year and next year and he signed from huge money because they've restructured twice okay this is his age 32 season and each of his next two cits this year and next year 26.97 to1 okay huge huge capit regard I wonder if did Chief play this year out with Tage I'd fully expect him to and then just extend him for a couple of years and lower that hit and spread the money out and to just guarantee fully guant the first two years of the contract yeah like I wonder if they would do that because if on tun I certainly would take the money um and then that opens up all this money all of a sudden you can just pay Trey Smith like I If did Chiefs so Kevin Kevin doson last year played really well for the Rams he had traded over there from from Pittsburgh where he kind of struggled he got a three-year 48 million deal okay this so that that's a contract to look at Damen Lewis another guard who got paid four years 53 million um and then there was recently uh Quinn Quinn uh Myers who got all told a four-year $72 million extent that's all right in the range of like 17ish I mean if I were it Chiefs I I'd pay Trey Smith like he's Quint Mish yeah like I'd give him years 65 68 million bucks like I'm sorry nothing is more important on the Chiefs than protecting my homes nothing I can find somebody who can plug up the run and make some tackles I'm not saying you're gonna be Nick Bolton I can I can find 90% of Nick Bolton yeah a hell of a lot easier than I can find a guard who to me if you're the chief you want TR SM the team for 10 years so if I were Kansas City humphy get done first I would absolutely pay Trace man I and at Bolton if they can fit it in there great and if they can't you know what you've got chanal and you've got tranquil go draft another guy go sign a free agent you know who's a second tier free agent and you're probably fine I think so too uh I think that they have the best interior offensive line of football and the longer that they can keep that together the better truthfully um very I I've made it clear on this podcast very big fan of both Creed and Trey uh got to talk to them at oi masterminds great guy they're phenomenal um they know a lot of ball like they are two guys two guys there that are pillars and like leaders of that conference now that it's so big for offensive linemen in all of football world there's college guys there there's coaches there there are college coaches listening to Trey Smith talk about football that's how much like ball knowledge that like Trey Smith has and how much respect that Trey Smith has too around this league I think that's that's not nothing there are coaches talking and like wanting to know what Trey Smith knows um about the game of football so I want to see them together for as long as they can but we're going to take a break we've got some stuff there's a lot of stuff to talk about here there's the Brandon iuk stuff there's the Broncos there's uh what was his name Logan talking some mad mess on Twitter um that in a minute that that's we'll get that in a little bit I think we have to start with auk yeah okay so let's start there because there's it's a it's a very layered conversation it seems like this has gone on for what feels like three off Seasons but it's probably just two um feels like he won it out last year maybe I'm making that up but it feels like it's gone on for a long time there's now a source off with with with Pretty Ricky and Sher and Ian ritort and insiders are getting their uh their panties in a wad this is a weird situation it's been a situation unseen to like what we have been used to in Brandon iuk does does it really do does this trade would would it trade to any of these teams mention Matt really move the needle for you all that much okay so I did I did a space on this uh on Twitter yesterday I don't know why I had time and I I just felt I was mad online so I was just mad offline and then took it online right right I hate disingenuous conversations like more than just about anything in the what they're not contenders New England and Washington I'm not saying not to go get the guy New England apparently is out because I guess Brandon auk was like yeah I'm good skip that I'm not going that like fine fair enough but like New England and Washington the 2024 story of brand that IU traded if you were to go to either one of those places is it it makes the Niners weaker that is the only story that affects him this year now you could argue here look man you know Washington gets him they got J Daniels and the cor and I okay F that's Hey listen Daniel turn out to be good that's a fun little core we can see where they build off of that Quinn's going to get the defense going I actually think waston might be better than people think this year then I go to superball like I think Washington is the team that makes the most sense quite honestly okay they're a team that they're trying to build for the future you know Peters out of Peters the GM was from is from San Francisco it was there they drafted auk like it makes a lot of sense New England I also get why New England would do it because you're sitting there going we got to get somebody in there for Drake Bay somebody's got to catch a dam yeah okay like I understand that I get it the Pittsburgh thing I'm I'm I'm of two minds of I understand why they would do it because then you have him and Pickins and you got f with playing tight as a good player F you know Jaylen Warren at back everybody talks about nji Harris he's second best back on the team like Jaylen Warren's actually considerably better it's was why they they decline Harris's option but if you look at it from a different perspective I don't know how much sense it makes you're gonna have to give up real Capital again okay first of all you got to pay a fortune second of all you got to get draft picks now if I'm San Francisco Pittsburgh's good enough that I'm like yeah I want a first round pick yeah I don't want a second round pick from you I want a first round pick Washington in New England yeah all right I'll take two seconds from you if you're Pittsburgh I want a first and a third they can be different years whatever but I want first and third Pittsburgh needs a quarterback like trading away that Capital means something yeah you may be able to take a quarterback in the first round that pick you may use that pick to trade up like that is real that you lose that Capital all right but I get it but I still think like there's like an unclean fit there the Cleveland thing is [ __ ] ridiculous okay I I'm sorry that's what your problem is that you don't have enough Weaponry on this team you're just traded for Jerry Judy you just traded for him and then gave him a hilarious contract of three years 52 and a half million that oh by the way has four void years on the end of it because you're so capped out with the Watson deal that you're like well this is the only way we can afford him and you're the team who again also to add on to this this idea has traded away a million first round picks in recent years has had no ability to draft the full draft class you're the team that's going to be hey guys listen here's a first and a third and we'll also pay 30 a year year for iuk so he can be our number two receiver with Cooper so Judy who we just traded two picks for and gave a big contract to can be our third guy and then joku who we just gave a big contract to G be our fourth guy in the pass game now it's gonna work out great that's good you should do that what what it's almost like they feel like if they just keep bringing in new guys like hey at some point Deshawn Watson's gonna be good I gotta tell you he's not any good like you could bring in God and Jerry Rice and put him on op like I I don't think it's going to happen okay he's not I was at Browns Camp last year I watched the Shawn wat and throw ball after ball after ball into the ground to the point that I won't say who this person was somebody of note in the media standing next to me leaned in and just went he sucks like yeah he really does he's not good like this this is brutal watching this guy try to throw a football and you haven't heard a whole lot of stuff coming out of Browns Camp about how great Shaw Watson looks this year either I just I don't know I don't know what we're talking about here like yeah going there also I forgot by the way they also traded for Elijah Moore oh yeah God what are you gonna do go seven wide what is the plan with this it's ridiculous I I don't understand it I don't get what we're talking about I just don't like all these other teams I at least get it the Browns it's hilarious if he goes to Cleveland absolutely it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever if only we could figure out why deshun Watson sucks now yeah if only there was a reason and by the way the second he got hurt last year the Browns took off of Joe Flaco and made a huge play oh yeah yeah I I really wanted the Browns to beat the the Ravens in the playoffs with Joe Flaco like that would have just been some incredible poetic that would have been incredible that would have been yeah but all of that Matt you laid it out very very beautifully uh I just want Ricky to be right because I just can't I just want him oh is honestly yeah he was on the bucker stuff early and now like bucker wasn't like a groundbreaking Rapport right like we knew his contract was coming up it was kind of always assumed like the chiefs were going to be interested in like resigning Harrison bucker but he did have it he did he did put it out there he's he's hit on a lot of stuff old Pretty Ricky 213 on Twitter um but he's he has been he has remained steadfast in it is auk to the Steelers for months like he is he's had this one for months and insiders are flailing um it's very brutal it has been it's been really bad think it's legitimately gotten embarrassing good Lord like if you don't know what's G to happen that's fine yes just Hey listen we're gonna see how it plays out you know we're gonna see what like there's nothing wrong in life with just being like I don't know right but there's a lot wrong in life with being the guy Denver look I he's behind Zack Wilson and Jared stter I mean it's not like he's behind like John Elway and Craig Moran you're like all right I mean yikes um not not not like awesome that the funny thing is like you've heard nothing but all this stuff got coming out of camp and that we like man sha P LW yeah sea Peyton they're just they're on the same page and they're really seeing eye to eye and things things are looking good and it's working out so on and so on and so on and so on like hey man uh okay like cool but he started on the depth chart behind two guys who have like borderline NFL career prospects the next three years so y you know it's not great uh I also saw I think it was KH coward who I actually like I know he's polarizing I actually don't mind con coward but he I agree with that he had a take he was like my favorite over bet is the Broncos over five and a half and listen man could be right that would not be my favorite overb hang on I gotta I got to look up their schedule now okay yeah we can we because they because they put they do play the the NFC South so like yesy South also plays Denver so I mean you know glass half full glass half empty um yeah no go ahead and pull it off but I mean I I see it I was like y' don't know man like I'm a big believer in like who's your quarterback and it's not like Denver's one of these teams look and go hey Denver's loaded it's just a quarterback's question like Denver's atrocious outside of corland Sutton and like maybe Tim Patrick and like Tim Patrick I'm actually I'm really rooting for him because absolutely the guys had two season ending injuries like the beginning of each of the last two camps but man that's a whole lot of stock you got to buy in corland suon and Tim Patrick you know like I feel like part of the argument was like he was like they have a really good offensive line I'm like do they really they have an expensive one I don't know that it's that good right like they spent a lot of money to not be that good up front do you have their schedule pulled up yes I do okay they it off with the Seahawks where in Seattle oh that's a loss um Bron is or Steelers at home they that by the way Wilson that's gonna be home Aras that yeah that would be bucks bucks on the road they're losing that game 0 and three so far Jets on the road they losing that they won't score a point Raiders at home I'll say they win okay there's one we are one and four right now okay uh chargers at home I'll say they lose that game if if Staley was still the coach I'd say they might win it but I'll say find Saints on the road they're that's a murder shame like the Saints aren't that good but like the super DOL and Bone I I don't feel good about that the Saints roster is the most like milk toast roster of all time it's just so boring just like you know uh great Sterling MMS he's he's getting married like two days for that M night game oh yeah and so Patrick Allen and myself are coming out for the for the wedding I think we're gonna go to the game and I was like that's the most uninspiring one that like find the team that's less exciting to watch like hey let's go watch Derek Carr and Dennis Allen awesome here's the thing about here's the thing about their quarterback room I've talked about this to literally whoever will listen to me talk about this their quarterback room is insane because it's Derek Carr Jake hayner who they drafted last year who got suspended for peeds insane uh they drafted Spencer rler um that's right they did they I forgot about that yeah which like he might actually be be the best guy in the WR he might he really might be and then they brought in Nathan Beerman for Camp well let's not forget T Hill yes Jason Hill okay it's unbelievable like Jon Hill is the most ridiculous NFL figure there is like if I can sit down one guy in the NFL just B what the hell is your job like it would be him he doesn't know yeah I mean you have like Crystal La who's good and then it's like I don't know rashed Shahed and like maybe Alvin CRA jabal Williams plays there now it's such it's a ridiculous team like it's just defensively they have like three or four like real stars and then like a bunch of guys like who the hell is that like who is that right they have the 2013 Chiefs defense not 13 20 probably closer to 2019 but I mean it's yeah like Ty of Matthew about like five years older right like what's this uh cam Jordan's a great player but like elderly at this point like it's just it's like the most ridiculous oh Maran ladimore still plays in the league like he's terrific but like you don't even remember him because he's on the yeah but any yeah I think the bronos is going to get the kicked in in that game because it's in uh so we're at we're at one and six it's not great um they host the Panthers yeah they'll win that game two and six okay uh going to the rav I'm just go ahead and that's a long yeah that that's one of those were like the lines 14 and people try to talk themselves into B like oh F copper and then it's 283 like 10 minutes left to go in the second cor um and then they go to go to Arrowhead come to Arrowhead oh my God they go to Baltimore Kansas City and back toback W yeah they do oh it's a tough tough s I'm go ahead and give that a loss yeah that's that's a tough one um host the Falcons I think they'll lose Atlanta's got a lot of offensive tal so we're at we're at two and is it a Prime Time game uh 305 okay no we're good cust is good going to Vegas they'll lose I'll say with the Raiders I'll most of the Browns sorry I lost my spot it's in December night game 7:15 hosting the Browns I feel like it's one of those games like the Browns win but nobody feels good about it yeah yeah it's like 121 I'll say C on wins yeah I don't I they're better host the Colts 325 game you know here every year there's some game they like somebody wins you know I'll say they Okay so we've got three wins now uh they're going to have to oh boy they're going to have to get hot if they're going to hit the over and their schedule at the end here is an interesting one to get hot on uh go to Los Angeles playl the Chargers I don't think they'll win that okay um go to Cincinnati yeah they're not gonna win that game and then they host the Chiefs yeah well I mean that game honestly even if like the bronos to your point like Wentz is better than any he did starting um yeah I mean so what I am Los so what do I have it three wins uh yeah you got them at three all right so you know what even if you want to Jack that up one like yeah I mean how you can jack it up two they're still on the other yeah like a bad would you have him at three to four like where would you have him different than me yeah no I I think I'm pretty close I think maybe I have them taking two man it's so hard because I don't think the Raiders are a good football te team but like the Broncos are also not a good football team so like those two games are not going to be I think splitting them is the right way to go about it because like I think that's probably the right approach but like I wouldn't be surprised if they take two from like Vegas um but then but then again to your point that doesn't get you to six like you got to get to six and I don't see how they get to six I don't either I don't I don't I mean look even if you want to make the argument that Nicks is better than we all think and let's just say for a rookie quarterback like by rookie quarterback stand season good other than San like they're atrocious defensive they don't have anything yeah I just don't like what is the they're gonna have to win games for 30 points and I'm sorry I don't think it's going to happen like I just don't see a whole lot of 30o days out of like Javonte Williams Cor sudden Tim Patrick with bow Knicks I just don't see it like yeah man I just like you could argue to me that the Raiders are better than I think they are because you be look muu is a serviceable quarterback the defense looks okay yeah Patrick Graham is a really good coordinator defensively Y and like they'll just find their way to like eight n or something yeah like you could make I don't think that's gonna happen I think they're probably like six and 11 but you could make the argument that hey you know what listen they got C rosby and Wilkins up front they can figure some things out on the back end and you offensively you you've got Adams you got Meyers you've got a couple of these rookie you know second year tight ends like Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer like I don't think that's enough to be good but you could at least make like a a reasonable argument they like a borderline like seven eight win team I just don't see it with that I I really just I feel like their offense is going to be everything being thrown three yards horse Al yeah and that's great in college where the hash marks are 8,000 miles wide and you can just go wide side of the field if you got an athlete that guy makes one person Miss and it's like a 10 yard gain in the NFL where the wide side of the field is is not as wide and all of a sudden you're like you know what that guy over there the corner he was also All America three times over like he's not gonna miss that tackle and he's gonna close it twice to speed that guy over at Vandy who's selling insurance now like it just it's tough it's tough to move the ball consistently like that so yeah I just I really don't see it I was trying to look up what the Raiders uh win total was because they could be I think they they are probably a sneaky good overb because of the defense that they could play um but like again you mentioned Gardner menu is going to be it's hard to bet on that guy for me um very serviceable backup for the Colts last year I mean he had them in playoff contention all the way until the end um now they got Anthony Richardson back in Indie excited to see what they got there buto backing up the quarterback room is consistently wild too like the Colts always have a weird quarterback room they I mean my God they've had different starters pretty much every year since lock reyre um by the way I you know just want to throw this out there uh Jazz forward Lori marinin uh five years $238 million St just wanted to draw I know this is a football show but when you see a $230 million snatching it's got to be match and it has not been wow yeah that's what M's different man it is it is different like M marketing who okay that's crazy uh let's wrap the show up with this uh this was a tweet from at the volume Sports the volume I believe owned by Kellen coward is that right corre um that's his media company that he owns uh does a bunch of different podcasts on it I believe Shannon sharp and Shadow jinko do the night cap on it that's one of my favorite show like the clips I see from that show hilarious those two guys together very funny uh this is from Logan Camden was not aware of this man until today uh when Matt had sent me this tweet he the Tweet says quote I think he's got an argument as the bless best playoff performing quarterback in NFL history quote Logan Camden says Josh Allen is the most underrated QB in the NFL um I wish that we were rolling so when you had told me about this tweet you people could have seen my brain short circuit when you were telling me about him saying that Josh Allen was the most underrated playoff performer in the NFL that kind of broke my brain a little bit yeah walv because what like listen we got to stop at this stuff okay it makes everybody Dumber Josh Allen's a great first of all first of all nobody's underrating Josh Allen if anything we tweet him like he's won nine MVP awards yes okay the only person you could argue is underrating him is Nick Wright because at this point I think Nick Wright is just waiting full thr he tries to go the other right like he's he's going the other way yes Josh Allen has played let's see now I want to make sure I'm right with this he's played six seasons he a two-time pro bow and a one-time second Team all pro all right fine good career he has played 10 playoff games he's five and five in those games now his total numbers are very impressive he has thrown for 21 touchdowns and four picks great great numbers yeah here's the problem with this okay there's some numbers that you don't hear in that that statistic so first playoff game ever played they blew a double digit lead to the Texans the week before the Chiefs took out the Texans on the way to the first Super BT HS Allen was 24 of 46 in that game for 264 yards sacked three times he ran for 92 yards which is always the argument he also caught a touchdown pass that game um he had quarterback rating at 69.5 averaging 5.7 yards per they lose 2020 bills are a really good team the go the playoffs hot he has a good day against Indianapolis 26- 35 324 yards two touchdowns great game yeah the following week 23 of 37 against the Ravens one touchdown no picks only DW for 206 yards 5.5 yards per attempt and he rushed for three yards on seven attempts it's not great following week Chiefs blow the doors off the bills and H game 28 of 48 287 yards two touchdowns in a pick he shocks four times and most of those yards and you can look it up came in garbage time he had about half those yards for the fourth quarter when they were down 38-10 I believe it was uh 38-15 then they play this is the game this is where like he made his his money in the playoffs okay they play New England in the Wilder around 2022 y well January 2022 20 21 season he goes 21 to 25 for 308 five St like unbelievable game no okay Bill 47 and then of course famously the 13 seconds game right which he was amazing in he was awesome in and then three 329 yards four touchdowns also ran for 60 since then I gotta tell you it's not been great beat the Dolphins in 2022 uh had two turnovers three turnovers had a lost fumble and two picks they needed to win 3431 against Skyler Thompson he was 23 of 39 in the game 352 three touchdowns two picks ran for 20 yards and lost to Fumble like in a game where you're basically told just don't royally [ __ ] this up and we're gonna win yeah wasn't a great performance I watched that game live then sh followed that up by getting blasted by Cincinnati at home 25 of 42 for 264 and a pick and ran for 26 yards not great following year against Pittsburgh 21- 30 for 203 yards three touchdowns ran 74 yards okay decent day not great not terrible fine and then against the Chiefs 26 of 39 for a buck 86 one touch down 4.7 yards in attempt he he's the best quarterback of all time in the playoffs Joe Montana hasn't even died that he rolled in his grave heing that like are you serious with this Tom Brady is breathing and alive and there's footage yeah like moles has beat him all three times he's played him I gotta tell you Joe burrow is a better playoff quarterback than Josh Al like that is the most nonsensical argument I've heard in a long time and and unfortunately I've heard many of them recently um that is a wild argument he's the best playoff quarterback of all based on what did he beat Skyler Thompson and Mason Rudolph barely home because when he's faced real quarterbacks he was bad against Lamar Jackson they won the game and he's 0 and4 against Mahomes and bur yep I mean that's his playoff resume his playoff wins he's got five playoff wins Lamar Jackson in a game the offense SC 10 points Skyler Thompson Philip Rivers of the Colts Mason Rudolph and M Jones congrats man the best quarterback of all time in the playoffs those are the wins I just want to read you I'm just going to read Patrick momes Playoff stats to kind of punctuate this uh Patrick W played as 18 play playoff games already in his career that's a lot of playoff games not a few 15 of them have been wins three of them have been losses um two of those losses coming in AFC championship games one of them coming in the Super Bowl uh 456 completions for 6 on 672 attempts that is a 67.8 6% completion percentage not terrible 5,135 passing yards on 41 touchdowns and eight interceptions in the playoffs that'll work that'll work three rings on his finger and uh to do it twice when right through Josh yeah the he had to do it to the greatest of all time so I look that that's got to mean something um but I Matt I was telling you before we start this this podcast that you know maybe sometimes we shouldn't make it so easy to buy mics and we shouldn't make it so easy to have takes maybe there needs to be a barrier of Entry here we need to just we need to have like an internet I'll try to say this a way I can't get far Purge what's that Purge well that's fine too I I was thinking something different I can't I don't know if I can say it without get myself in trouble um we need to have like we have guard rails on who can get on the internet I think I like that idea okay we need to have like like what do they call like a governor right like like race car have Governor you need to just speaking to a machine that you like you give the take you're gonna give and then the machine spits out like okay fair enough or the machine is like whoa buddy whoa whoa Governor time you know like we could all use one you know you yeah like whoa well that's all right it's enough it's more than enough yeah look I mean sometimes sometimes I tweet out some takes that that are controversial you know sometimes I say I don't like Crocs and sometimes people get get upset at me sometimes but like to say Josh Allen is better than Patrick Mahomes should I think put you on a list somewhere I mean it's just a it's just wrong that's the other thing it's it's it's wrong like it's you talked about disingenuous arguments earlier like this is a disingenuous argument because it's just blatantly objectively false like there's no there's nothing that makes this argument true and I think that's what is so infuriating is just like what are you doing it's such a it's such a blatantly and look it's mother this call I'm G get back there in a little bit um it's such a batly like hot take just to be a hot take and look I guess I'm feeding into I I talking about I brought it into the show you're like I it annoys me from the standpoint that it purposely makes people dumber and then you get the segment of society it's dumb enough to believe these takes and they're like that's right I saw that I saw this guy say that and it's like that doesn't make it true right like we live in a country right now where people just say whatever the hell they want and there's always some clown on one side of the other to go that's right that's I I also feel that way and it's like that just because you feel some way it doesn't make it accurate yeah like that take like buddy Workshop it a little bit you know I mean just CU you in your brain you're like Josh Allen underrated as a playoff performer is he really because I gotta tell you whenever he's played anybody who's halfway decent he's gotten beaten in a playoff game yeah and then you always get the same argument the same bad faith thing it's C of mcar really you know he's not uh he's not out there turning the ball over and he's not the one out there who quite honestly in a lot of these games you'll look at them and you go okay well you didn't play well against Houston and you didn't play well in the AC title game and yeah you ran DEC you ran for two scores against Chiefs in 2013 but you went 10 to 21 for 95 yards on throws past the line of scrimmage okay sorry well well Deon Dawkins got pushed into Chris Jones well you know Chris Jones push Dan dog to Josh Al well Josh Allen should have slid to his right and thrown the football right okay like there's a million ways to skin this thing and you could sit there and you could even come to the conclusion hey he's a really good playoff performer cool that's fine yeah not the best of all time what are you talking
