yo what's going on guys this Houston Sports Talk Back another video today and today the Houston Astros have beat the Oakland Athletics 8 to one the Astros improved to 53 and 49 and avoid being swept Hunter Brown goes out there has an excellent start but I got to go I got to start off this video I can't do it any other way but saying let's go Angels oh my God the Angels come through when when we need them I I I love what the angels have done for us um this is the second time the angels have swept the Seattle Mariners um if I had to choose a second time team to be a fan of I I might choose the angels with the way they've helped the Astros out this year uh or not this year just the last couple weeks I mean last week or or two weeks yeah two two weeks ago almost two weeks ago before the allstar break happened uh the Astros had a home Series against the Texas Rangers going into the All-Star break and the the you know the the Mariners had a was a Road Series against the angels and you know looked like the Mariners had a little bit of a better matchup than than the Astros because they were facing a little bit of a weak team and the Astros were facing a little bit of a weak team as well but Rangers are as of right as of then were looking a lot better than the the angels and no the the Angels swept the Mariners right before the All-Star break the Astros the reason they saved the Asos was because the Friday the the Friday start off that Series against the Rangers the Astros won but the Angels won as well and that took the uh Astros to only one game back from 500 uh sorry one one game back from the division and after that Friday the Astros on Saturday and Sunday before the allstar break unfortunately weren't able to beat the Rangers lost the last two games before the All-Star break so that that doesn't sound good especially when the a when the angels are you know the team that the Mariners are facing so that really didn't look good for the Astros but guess what the angels sweep the the angels sweep the the Mariners and then let's get into this week this week the Astros go up against the sorry an athletic team that the Astro should be taking care of business against the Astros should not lost this series in my opinion starting pitching is the in the first two games of the reason the Astros lost this series uh the only reason the Astros lost this series but you know lose the first two games lost they lost Monday they're going up you know the Mariners are going up against the Angels again it doesn't look good for the Astros especially after losing the day before to the Mariners but no the angels beat the Angels beat them again and then yesterday Tuesday Astros go up against the Athletics they lose the Athletics again they lost 8 to2 so again it looks like you you know the the Mariners could take care of business against a bad team and the angels but no the angels beat the Mariners again and the Astros are still leading in the division off of a tie then getting today the Astros finally beat the Athletics and in my head I was thinking you know last night after the Mariners lost again the Astros lost again I was thinking in my head well uh the Astros are going to win tomorrow and the Mariners are going to win as as well and you know both teams are going to stay tied and the Astros are going to have two blown opportunities to grow a lead after the Mariners lost two games with the angels uh and for a while it looked like my prediction was right the Astros were dominating its Oakland and uh Seattle was dominating its La until the eighth inning they were up one Z but no the Angels win 2 to one the Mariners only scored three runs in the series against the Angels Nationals didn't do much better in in their series against Oakland they only scored uh 10 runs well I wouldn't say that that's that's much better but it's not 10 runs in three games isn't great it's it's good but it's not great um but the Astros are now one game ahead of the Mariners due to the angels where where would the Astros be without the Angels without the Angels uh the Astros would be pretty far back from the division right now but thank God that the Angels own the Mariners and and also I I will give the Angels some credit because they have helped the Astros a lot the angels are rolling right now watch out for the Angels they have a bad record they're 45 and 57 but they've won their last 11 games they are eight and three so they've won eight of their last 11 games and if you look at their upcoming schedule they have a four game series coming up against these Athletics they have a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies who suck and a three- game series against the New York Mets so their next 10 games being 12 games under 500 is a little bit of an easy schedule um so or not a little bit very easy schedule let's get into the Astros Astros win 8 to one Hunter Brown was excellent nine and six with a win uh six Innings eight hits given up one run eight strikeouts one walk Los goes a JP series he's 7 in eight of the year now six Innings nine hits seven runs three strikeouts zero walks 11 hits for the Astros nine for the Athletics two errors for the Athletics one for the Astros scoring summary yanner Diaz with the inning sacrifice fly it's 1 to zero uh and andar uh with a RBI double to WR Lawrence Butler scores it's 1 to one that was the only run the a scored second inning Jose Altuve RBI single to left single 10 scored it's two to one fifth inning how about Chas mccormic gets into action fourth home run of the Year home run to left 420 fet 3 to one only home run of the day jery p in the sixth inning with a single to left yanner Diaz scored four to one this was off of a uh it ricocheted off of one of the infielders leg um and went to the Outfield so nice single for Jeremy uh Jose Altuve with the RBI double in the seventh inning to left Singleton scored McCormack to third 5 to one seventh inning as well asers keep it going bregman double to left Altuve scored McCormack scored 7 to1 McCormack scores his second run of the day and not one sack fly for yard Diaz how about two seventh inning sacrifice fly to Center bregman scored it's 8 to1 all right let's go over the Astros hitting after Jose al2 they had a terrible day yesterday uh three for five day today two runs scored two RB first inning single to left second inning single to left for an RBI uh Altuve was thrown out stretching at second though uh and then his last at bat was that RBI double to left to score a run um McCormack to third so two RBI Rose two for four day for bregman he looked good today but we we've needed this from him for the last couple games first inning single to left Altuve is second he also had a seventh inning double to left Altuve scored and McCormack scored and he had a ninth inning walk as well Jordan Alvarez struggled today with a one for five day he did have a double in the ninth to get bregman to third but that was it y Diaz went one for three he had his sacrific flies with so was two RBI and had a six inning double and scored a run jery Pena went one for three today he had a he had that RBI single and he was hit by pitch Alvarez to second in the first inning then Jake Myers went 0 for four um so he was he had off day dubon went 0 for four as well John Singleton went one for four today he was safe at second on Fielding error by first baseman Brown uh and then he singled to right in the seventh so one hit and reach base twice today scored two runs how about Chas McCormack CH McCormack was great today reath Bas three out the four times he was at the plate uh he grounded out to third in his first set bat hit a home run in his second he was hit by pitch in the seventh and in the ninth he had a single to the left and he scored two runs in this game so chass was really good in this game for the Astros Hunter Brown went six Innings but outside of that the Astros had other guys that pitch in this game Brian NE Bru pitched in the seventh he did give give up a walk but no hits or runs one strike out for him Taylor Scott pitched the eighth with one hit had one strike out didn't give up a run or a walk and Brian King pitched the ninth giving up zero hits zero runs zero walks zero strikeouts so yeah great day for the Astros great win Lemer thoughts on the game in the
