going deep he got the T [Applause] [Music] [Applause] up for it fire to the Ed touch dolphin beautiful day to be a dolphin Dan's [Music] go what is good fin Nation what's good it's your boy reason and we are back here for another one um quite the Som Thoughts On Tua's Health, Fans Calling For His Retirement, Takeaways From The Loss To Buffalo & More day I mean I don't know how to explain this you feel like you're two weeks into the season and you're in mour you know I've said to a few people today it feels like you just went through a heavy breakup last night and you've been crying all night now I wasn't crying but like that's how space cadet I really feel today I I just you know we streamed till 1:00 a.m. yesterday and the whole time you're just in disbelief you know 3 hours of disbelief including the postgame show and it it's just crazy that we're sitting here right now having this conversation you know what I mean um it was it was bad enough we were getting embarrassed The Way We Were In terms of you know performance and execution from the coaching staff down to really the offensive players because I put that far more on the offense than I do the defense yesterday from this the offensive staff which includes McDaniel all the way down to the players in the execution um man I just want to say like listen you know prayers up to tuong maloa um I said this on Twitter I kind of said this yesterday listen I'm not going to sit up here and act like I have a medical degree or I'm an expert on head trauma and concussions and quite frankly in 2022 I was sick of people doing it and I'm already sick of people doing it it hasn't even been 24 hours you know I said today all I can do as a fan as a content creator whatever the case may be is I can just hope that Tu a tongue of aloa does what's ever best for him his family and his health based on all the information that's going to be gathered over the next few days next few weeks by him and his medical team if he decides to come back I fully support him if he decides to sit out the rest of the season and then re-evaluate I fully support him if he decides to just I'm going to hang it up I'm not risking this again I fully support him but that decision is up to TU a Tong of aloa his family and his and and his medical team not not some Jabron on Twitter not you know that's just not how it is okay so um you know and another thing to me is too you know the people trying to do like little Victory laps there's people actually out here trying to be Victory laps trying to say their agenda was right the whole time and you know he's not a franchise quarterback I told you well you know what he just led the league in passing last year he was the number one passing leader coming out of week one in that comeback win Tu tongo is already already proven he's a franchise quarterback Tu a Tang of Alo has already proved when he's healthy he can play at a top five to eight quarterback clip he's already proved all of that so all these people were trying to say oh I was right the whole time no you were wrong you were wrong about the player and now you're trying to spin your narratives through this injury to try and make yourself look right and who the hell are you to be out here talking about agendas when you know our franchise quarterback's health is at stake here it it's just it's so mind-numbing and it's so toxic and it's just something I want nothing I want no part of it it's absolutely disturbing that people are out here trying to take Victory laps so you know just the lowest form of scum you know this is a human's Health not about trying to be right about an agenda you guys were already proven wrong about cuz y'all told us he would never be play a healthy season he did last year y'all told us he would never be in the MVP conversation he was in the last two years y'all told us he would never ever lead the league in passing he just wasn't able to do something like that he did it last year so you know what do you guys you know put out 13 takes cuz it's Friday the 13th y'all put out 13 takes Miss on 12 of them but highlight the one come on get out of here with that so I just I can't believe we're in we're we're in that we're in that whole phase right now of denial or whatever the case may be is so um you know and you got people saying he listen I want you to go look up right now go look up right now you know and again this is his decision but I'm going to play some clips here from people go look up Rett Favre I want you to type in how many concussions did Brett Favre have go to Google right now and go to because you're going to get the I can already tell you the number that's going to come back to it's going to be a th000 do you guys remember Dan Marino in that Seattle game in '92 where he didn't remember the final two minutes of the game because he had a concussion again I'm not here justifying anything any action or anything but let's not ask act like two is the only one who's ever had multiple concussions in the NFL everyone just highlights him because it took place on a national TV stage twice and a whole lot more and we know people want him out of the league we know people don't like him Etc and again I go back to what I originally said if his medical team clears him and he clears protocol and he wants to play who are any of us to tell him no that's obviously his family has said we're okay with it there's a famous story about Troy Aman I forget what playoff game they won but they won a playoff game he ended up in the hospital with his concussion after the game he didn't even remember if they had won the game I'm trying to remember what game it was I know it was a playoff game and I know it was Jimmy Johnson was in the hospital with him and had to tell him like yeah we won he didn't remember the last and he was out there for the game-winning drive like th this stuff happens but again whatever he decides I support and that's it that's all there is to it I don't need to hear people on Twitter on YouTube who have zero degrees and zero expertise in brain trauma and concussions because remember last year sorry in 2022 remember in 2022 he actually had cleared protocol but they came out and said we held him out and I've also even said this right I think the way that that hit went down it reminds me of what happened to Sydney Crosby and how his neck got compressed right cuz Sydney Crosby ended up taking almost a year and a half off of hockey that's just a fact and I mean he couldn't even watch TV and um you know and it ended up being something in his neck now cdy Crosby has had four concussions in his career he's still playing he's 37 years old and we know how contact of a sport hockey is so listen you know I'm not here cuz none of us have access to his medical records none of us we don't know how he heals and it all comes what does it come down to people think that oh there's no way to know there is a way to know the Baseline test right remember last time when everyone was worried about what happened against Cincinnati and Green Bay the reason why he came back was why because of the Baseline test he had the Baseline because of the Baseline test they indicated that he had the same chance of getting a concussion as anyone else he didn't have a greater chance or lesser chance than any normal Baseline person and he came back now we can get into Chris Greer and Mike McDaniel in terms of Robert Jones is Not good enough Liam mikenberg is not good enough Teran Armstead can't play without a harness but he came out here and told all of us well I'm the healthiest I've ever been coming into a season in recent years I I mean you know I I I just you know there's so much to unpack here the offensive Al line alone I said today on Twitter I think this is going to be Chris Greer's downfall cuz here I here's the thing I think McDaniel would get another chance like if this season ends up being a failure everything just implodes I do think Mike McDaniel will be given another chance I really honestly do and the reason why is because he can turn around and he can hand off the play calling duties he can promote Daryl bevel right and and and make him run the he can make him the primary play caller we know how successful he was with Russell Wilson in Seattle as a play caller I mean he could go out and get a veteran guy to be a play caller whatever the case may be is the thing with Chris Greer is it feels like he's used up nine lives we were all shocked he made it past the Flores firing and he was given another chance but what you've done with this offensive line and again the offensive line is not to blame for to his injury yesterday I mean from him taking off himself to Leading with his head that's all on his shoulders yesterday okay but you know Robert Jones is not a competent NFL starter he gets hurt Lester Cotton's even worse he comes out I remember I did the film study your contingencies for Isaiah win were below subpar and just based on wi's history if he was healthy heading into this year you should have had better contingencies in place like I said Taran armstead's the healthiest he's been in years but he can't play without a shoulder harness this unit gets zero push in short yardage situations to the point where you had to revert to a fullback dive and even still I'm still bitter that you got no wrinkles to this fullback dive like I don't know fake it and then toss it when when the team start catching on because the bill started catching on but anyways no one because everything's lost in the concussion talk no one's talking about Aaron Brewer and his snapping yesterday was throwing off the offense we had Anan plays that were blown up because Aaron Brewers snapping was an issue yesterday it was high ikenberg is hurt again he struggled mightily at times this has just become major malpractice at this point and like I said if this season plays out negatively for the Dolphins they miss the playoffs and everything just blows up in their face I said it yesterday I said it on Twitter today and I'll say it once again I think Greer is the one whose jobs will be in Jeopardy and I'll tell you why the arrogance you guys are more worried about this you think Ross hasn't seen Ross pays I'll tell you right now Ross pays attention to guys like Omar Kelly that's a reality of the situation you don't think step Ross has seen Greer kind of mock all of us the fans and the media who have said this offensive Line's going to be an issue we'll get into the PFF grades in a bit that was the worst graded one of the worst grader performances from our offensive line that was absolutely embarrassing from since that was the worst graded performance by our off offensive line by PFF standards since October 2022 that was the worst offensive line performance from a PFF standard in like three years so you know and you know back to two you got people out here saying floor was right Flores was right are we just ignoring how wrong Flores was proven the last two years with two his play Flores never came out and said this guy's an injury-prone brittle guy who can't take an NFL hit no he said he wasn't good enough Flores is already been proven Wrong by two his play over the last two years so anyone out here trying to push a flor's agenda during this situation is an absolute idiot I mean do they keep him out even if he passes protocol remember he basically did in 2022 but they kept him out to protect himself from himself after the one he sustained in in Green Bay and I think a big key thing I Come Away with that game is and this is this will fall on McDaniel's shoulders a little bit here you have to be patient and run the ball against cover two you cannot start forcing the situation you got to try and run the ball and force them out of that twoo high I shall but what's the deal all the good defensive coordinators sha mcdermit all these guys they know what they know that we're not going to be patient enough to stick to the run because we got the Tyreek Hills the Jaylen wles we got all these nice weapons and they know we're not going to stay patient and run the hell out of you underneath because it turns into a game of patience when you have this explosive of an offense and you're facing cover two shells but they don't want to do that they just want to okay we got to bang off this play we got to get these big plays we got to get this chunk yards no this is why you've drafted this running back room behind already having moer this is why you drafted Jaylen right this is why you drafted Devon hen to run the ball and pull them up with explosive plays from the backfield to pull them up out of that shell quicker you got to run the ball you got to show patience as a coach I'm not even going to get in to the Personnel usage I.E the grant dubas interception when dubas baros and Robbie chosen are the receivers out there on a critical third down why and then what does he say well I wanted to get jayen out there but we didn't have enough time this guy one of your two of your biggest flaws are what well there three biggest flaws you don't know when to stick to with the run your play calling in general especially when you get on the other side of the field and your clock management so you're going to blame one of your biggest flaws for a critical third down I ain't trying to hear that I ain't trying to hear that period at all ugly man and I ain't trying to hear about adversity either let let me be the first one to tell you that I'm not trying to hear about this stuff you know I had to listen to you guys talk about we know what's at stake here with the expectations in terms of a playoff win you said the same thing we know that you know they've had our number in terms of the bills we know to you know what did McDaniel said last week to do anything you're going to have to win your Division and you're going to have to beat your division rival and what what you guys have told me how many times you realize what's at stake and what needs to be done and you don't deliver I'm tired of hearing it's like the boy cried wolf the NFL needs to move each team's Thursday game to the game after their byee that would be one game in 21 days instead I agree I agree Thursday night games should be for teams coming off buys reason if he comes back man they really need more Vigilant and building up that line for him he ran into the concussion but he needs more blocking I agree 110% 110% this concussion was on him but here's the thing I had a conversation me and Brit talked last night after I did the postgame show she made a good point you know we noticed when he got concussed against the bill into that Bengals game where he got the other concussion right he got his bell rang against the bills right remember he fell down and everything like that remember how off he was to start that game before that concussion happened look at how off he was to start this game now he took two big hits against the Jags right the roughing the passer hit and then he took that hit along the sideline where McDaniel wanted a call for and they didn't get anything remember I we showed it on the l22 was he already a little rattled had to turn around on 4 days we'll never know we will never know cuz he was missing that throw that led Tyreek out that that was it the sail route I haven't looked at the all 22 yet the sail rout route into the soft spot of the of of the coverage he he makes that throw with his eyes closed he makes that throw with his eyes closed did we just live a repeat of 2022 in terms of having to turn around on 4 days and he was already had his Bell rung against the Jags because there's two instance you can pull back and watch his head smacks if you go back and watch those plays Griff failed to never address the o line for years knowing you have to protect the franchise quarterback you did not spend on the o line or get a solid back up its absolute arrogance Brooklyn rob you know here's the thing you let your best draft hit walk since Jeremy tons sorry since laremy tonsil in Robert hunt your idea to supplement Robert hunt was Liam mikenberg who hasn't proven he's a competent starter at Right Guard yet that was your answer you let one of the best right guards in the NFL walk because you didn't want to pay $20 million and your answer was well we'll just slide mikenberg there that alone is malpractice finisher remember for 13 months I'm convinced coach Greer and Tua divides this behind the scrimmage screens hitches and pitches play to say screw the o line we don't need it well I think they were trying to alleviate pressure and I think they were trying to alleviate you know the workload on that offensive line because they don't trust them to hold their blocks shout out to Brad Martin he gifted five memberships and he continues to help build the finside family appreciate you sir love you Brad thank you very much all right just so you know like I said this video it's powered by bet us go over to bet us.com go and check out all the money lines the spreads the team totals the player props out to bet us for sponsoring this show so let's go over some let's get let's talk about this Tu of stuff uh we'll talk about this Tu of stuff before we get into the PFF stuff and everything like that so um this was from last night this was from Barry Jackson we already went over Reactions From Players & Experts On Tua's Concussion McDaniel's um post game during the post game PO on my postgame show yesterday so we're not going to go over that but we'll go over some news and notes from this so this this is from Barry last night so Chris noisy uh well first of all Skylar Thompson who enter who entered when tongo exit said tongue ofo is concussion makes him sick Chris noisy co-founder and CEO of the concussion Legacy Foundation said on the social media platform X that Tu has suffered a traumatic brain injury on this play no question his right arm shows the fencing posture indicating loss of consciousness and is on the severe end of the concussion Spectrum he is done for the night and must miss the next game David Chow former Chargers team doctor and now media personality said we all know Tua has an injury history concussion history each concussion leads to potentially easier concussions given his history of concussions worry for multi-week absence cbs4 reporter analyst Kim Bo camper a former Dolphins player said he expects tongo to miss four to six weeks and that he was close to a wobbly tongoa as he left the field last year tangoa sustained at least two concussions in the 2022 season the Miami Herald asked two concussions experts Nowitzki and Robert kantu how the situation should be handled I remember going over these articles if he had another one neither said retirement would be necessary uh one of the doctors canu said in my my 2023 Miami Herald article that he would hold tongue of a low out for a bit longer than players who sustained a similar concussion for the first time but not applicably longer appreciably longer sorry but keep in mind that this was a serious concussion that would typically keep any player out multiple weeks kantu one of the the founders of the concussion Legacy foundation and medical director and director of the clinical research at the canant concussion Center at Emerson Hospital in Concor Massachusetts said the concussion clock starts at zero for tongue of aloa in a new season if you put a great deal of months between concussions you're much more likely to go back to your what Your Baseline is before that stretch of concussions if he had a fourth concussion that would still be his first of the Season there's not the science to say that you should be 2 or 3 weeks more conservative but Common Sense would say rest them a little longer other than who's experienced this type of concussion so there you go you got a concussion expert saying it's restarted at zero you can't compound this concussion on his other three so you got to treat this like this is concussion number one on his Baseline right there there you go so all of you guys saying oh he's these when you listen to a concussion expert no this is you starting back at zero this counts as concussion number one nitzky in that 2023 Miami Herald article said that concussions tend toward getting more severe with longer recoveries as they add up but that's not the case for everybody and there are examples of people who have appeared to have career ending concussions who returned without problems to it doesn't have chronic symptoms so that's a good sign right he doesn't have like post concussion um issues that he um you know has issues with right like that just are lingering all right so I mean these are concussion experts right so um canu said during that 2023 Miami heral interview that a scenario that should cause tangaloa to consider retirement would be this if blows that do not normally produce symptoms are now producing concussion symptoms if the intensity is considerably less and not expected to produce symptoms and are still producing symptoms that's the person at real risk K you said that would a bad situation and mean your career is over so that's one thing we have to find out right like was there compression on the neck was this a neck we need to find out what what happened here kantu said there's no concussion magic number that exists after which a player should definitely retire I worry more about what seems to be a mild blow that produces concussion symptoms especially if those symptoms last can to said concussions are talked about as if they're all the same and they're not concussions with symptoms for 30 minutes or an hour or a day are not the same brain injury as someone who has symptoms for 3 months or 6 months which is what I tell you Sydney Crosby went through right fullback Alec Engel on tongue of those concussion it's just an unfortunate situation all of our prayers are out to him and his family we're a tight-knit family on this team we're just hoping he's safe and we'll move forward with that we're always praying for our guys to come out healthy so this is a tough one obviously it's tough to see your leader go down like that we're going to have him and his family in our thoughts and prayers Josh Allen said you can't help but feel for tongo is a great player and but an even better human being and former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said the Dolphins should play tongo in the in of Reserve which would Seline him for at least four games and McDaniel obviously yesterday declined to say if that's going to happen so uh yeah you know you I remember reading these articles right and I remember them talking about the Baseline and you start back at zero you can't look at this as a compounding concussion on the other three you have to look at it as its own concussion and you started back at zero and now it's about avoiding another concussion this year that's what we're what that's what it's about and that's why I think if this guy's coming back I don't think you see him tell after the by week minimum minimum I don't think you see him till after the by game by week honestly uh you know like um that literally that's kind of how I see this you know I I I honestly I don't think you'd see him tell that Colts game or that Arizona game honestly now people want to say what do we do well first of all you know well we'll get into into it here in a bit because McDaniel talks about it today so let's keep with this concussion and then we'll go on further this is what McDaniel said Mike McDaniel Speaks On Tua's Future regarding to his concussion specifically today before we get into a general Outlook of um what he said at his presser today so this is what McDaniel said onto his concussion I I just really really really wish I I totally understand it and it's not misplaced I I I totally get how that's where people want to go to I just wish that people would for a second hear what I'm saying that bringing up his future is not in the best interest of him so you know I'm going to plead with everybody that you know that um does genuinely care that that should be the last thing on your mind I don't think it's appropriate um simply because of my care and regard and I don't think uh those types of conversations when you're talking about somebody's somebody's career um I think it it probably is um only fair that their career should be decided by them you know again I go back to what I've been saying you know we can say that's why you're not going to hear me saying I think he should or shouldn't I'm not picking a side I'm leaving this up to the doctors I'm leaving up to the people that have access to his medical records I'm leaving it up to the experts I'm leaving it up to Tua and his family I none of us are educated enough unless you are an expert on brain trauma concussions and you're in my chat none of us are educated enough and none of us have a big enough understanding of Tu is medical situation in terms of the records the real records not speculation or whatever to make a super informed opinion so you're not going to hear me you're just going to hear me say if he decides to hang them up I will support him if he decides he's going to come back I will support him if he decides he's going to sit out the rest of the year and re-evaluate I will support him you know that's it I mean we've talked about this in the chat yesterday USC Fighters get cold cocked and knocked out and they keep fighting so I I don't know I got no answers for you because I am not a medical Prof professional that's it that's literally it that is it so you're not going to hear me pick one side or the other because we are in Uncharted Territory for for like that's just it now this is what David Chow former Dr. David Chao Talks About Tua's Injury Los Angeles um well San Diego then but former Chargers Doctor Who was referenced in Barry Jackson's article this is what he had to say any single concussion is not good news but multiple concussions are certainly worse he had three concussions two documented in 2022 so this is at least his third documented likely his fourth concussion not good news but every concussion is different they're like snowflakes they return to normal function differently the symptoms last differently we'll see how this plays out it's not unprecedented for him to return to play football Mitch Morris formerly of the Buffalo Bills now of Jacksonville Jaguars Center has had six documented concussions and is still playing so every concussion in case is treated differently let's hope that Tua clears quickly and we'll have a choice to make on whether he wants to return the NFL but in any case it won't be soon given that it's his fourth concussion we see at least a one month absence here maybe even season before he decides to resume his career but let's hope for the best for the Dolphins Young quarterback like I said I don't expect him back I mean he said minimum four weeks it could be the whole season I don't expect him back to that Colts or or Arizona game if he's coming back but again he just Mitch Mo six documented concussions still playing and we all know what goes on in the trenches with people popping you in the chin people popping you you know in the mask and sending your head back again I I I implore you I want you to Google Brett Favre amount of concussions you will literally see Brett Favre has has said he had over a th000 concussions playing football literally literally and again Dan Marino Dan Marino had two or three concussions on do do that were documented and one of them was in that 92 Seattle game I believe they won 1917 he doesn't even remember the last two minutes of the game and he was out there playing everyone's different that's the point of me saying that everyone is different Brett the himman Hart took a a kick from Goldberg to the Head Right ended his wrestling career and he ended up having like seizures and strokes and stuff off of it everyone's different and again for because there's probably going to be people that don't believe me right there's probably going to be people that don't believe me I'll just bring it up and show you guys all right so you guys can see what I'm talking about cuz I don't want to hear nothing you know and I feel like people are going to be like oh you know reason's just making that number up am I am I right there he also May officially hold one record that no player would ever want most concussions in a recent radio and this is 2022 in a recent radio interview Favre estimated that he suffered an astounding a thousand concussions through his 20year Hall of Fame career everyone's different that's all that tells me that's not justifying one way or the other that's saying we have no idea that's all that's saying we have no idea no idea so I don't know what to tell you we have no idea and people talking on it like they do unless you're a concussion expert I'm sorry so anyways and that was from Brett Fab's mouth so um this is what Tom Tom Pelissero Discusses Tua Clearing Protocol & Returning peliso said on Rich Eisen today regarding the whole situation what is your reporting on Tu a tungo vioa as we come on the air one eastern time and uh hour number two of this Friday Tom to a Tong of aloa in the Dolphins facility today undergoing the normal battery of tests that you do as part of the early stages of the concussion protocol I would say I probably had the same reaction as a lot of people seeing that play last night you kind of you get used to injuries happening in NFL games you hate to see it but when it's Tua and when it's a hit to his head and he goes down in the fencing posture immediately you're taken back to two years ago and the scenes that we watched unfold uh having said that I think think it's important to remember here what the protocols are and who's going to be involved this is going to be as part of the NFL protocols obviously it's Tua it's the Dolphins doctors It ultimately is an independent neurologist who would have to give the final clearance to return to play in the bigger picture there are going to be many more people involved because I was going back through notes from a couple of years ago Tua has a file with some of the leading specialists in the country back in 2020 to he flew to both Pittsburgh and Detroit to visit Specialists he had multiple other doctors uh looking at it as well had he not been told that he was in essence at the same risk level as everybody else for further concussion um you know outcome on his life uh he would not have come back and been playing football again and so I know that everyone has an opinion but it's not going to be us on in the media it's not going to be the fans it's not going to be Twitter doctors it's not going to be former players trying to go viral with a tweet about how a guy should retire I said Antonio pierce the Raiders coach said it earlier today that he would advise to to retire here but this is very personal when it comes to the decisions there's a protocol and honestly Tu probably will eventually pass the NFL protocol here the question is going to be based on the totality of information how do they proceed with Tua what does he want to do what is his family want to do here the uncomfortable reality we to cover in the NFL is there's about a dozen concussions a week on average you know 231 I think was the total last season here there are players in the NFL that have had more concussions than Tu aonga aloa we don't sit here and talk about the fact that Denzel ward has had five diagnosed concussions and continues to play he's not a quarterback and unlike Tua he didn't have two of the scariest looking concussion both occur on national TV know fcing posture the arms being up in the air that's a relatively common type of concussion symptom it is really difficult to see and you saw it in Cincinnati when he hit the back of his head you saw it again last night when he lowers his head into Demar Hamlin um after picking up a first down in that game we're very very early in this process again I understand the leap that people want to make of should he or shouldn't he retire there's so many people who know way more than any of us about this who are going to be advising Tua it's about the health of his brain concussion is a brain injury anyone involved is going to take that seriously and certainly the Dolphins are going to take that seriously an organization that less than two months ago gave Tua around $167 million in injury guarantees that certainly not something you would anticipate an organization would do if they believe the next blow to two his head would be career ending but this is all going to come down to what the doctors advise and ultimately what Tua is comfortable with moving forward but he is in the building today he's back in the building today he's back in the building today um you know there's we we all learned a lot about the concussion protocol last year and there were changes of course made to the concussion protocol based on what was ultimately found to not be a concussion that Tua suffered early in the year before the one in Cincinnati when he hit his head on the turf which remains one of the scariest besides Demar Hamlin one of the scariest scenes that I can ever remember on a football field here so it's all based to put it in really lay terms rich is which is where I think I'm most comfortable with this here every player has a baseline neurological function and there's record of it talked about the Bas you were not allowed to return to play until your neurological function comes back to that Baseline with Tua there's again way more data than there is on an average player because he's had four documented concussions he had the one in the same play he dislocated his hip he broke his nose and suffer concussion all in that same play back in 2019 at Alabama then he had the two in 2022 he had another one now that's a year and a half that he went without this happening here but again he's gone through these procedures because it's his brain and he's going to have to make decisions that are best for him let's also remember Rich back in 2022 there were a lot of the same people who were saying Tua should never play again he should never be allowed on the field the NFL should never allow him to walk on the field to made the decision with his family with his representation with the doctors that he felt comfortable getting back onto the field that's not to say that he will or should make the same decision this time around but you know the NFL is not in the business of saying players can't step foot on the field if they've been medically cleared these are decisions that come down to the organization and the individual and that's going to be the same case with Tua albeit under a way bigger Spotlight and that's 110% now how says it was not that hard of a hit again I talk about this this could be a neck compression concussion too those happen all right like and also remember it only takes what two lounds of pressure to your chin to knock you out now I see everyone responding to what I showed about Brett Favre y'all are being way too literal I said he said he had a thousand do I take that as he had a thousand no would I take that as this guy had a crap ton of concussions during his 20y year career there's no way he had a thousand documented concussions but what I there's concussions that go undocumented there's concussions you sometimes don't even know you have until you wake up the next day etc etc I took that as Brett farre saying I had a crap ton of concussions in my career that's what I take that as I do not take that as oh he had it had to be a thousand not 999 not 900 not 500 has to be a th000 not a,1 I'm not I don't think that's meant to be taken literal I think that's meant to be I had a crap ton of concussions in my career okay so people need to uh re in on that one real talk Perez says boxers get concussions all the time but even boxing it's illegal and very dangerous to hit behind the head for a reason remember all it takes is getting hit the right way and you're done Darth Logan says why are we relying on Scot Thompson he said we may bring in a veteran and we're going to talk about this when we get when when when I get to it so don't worry I got you we're going to talk about all that all right so you know where I'm sitting with this is again I'll say it again they know better than I do does his medical team um him and his family they have enough data on him where they know what his base I've talked about the Baseline where they know what the Baseline has to get down to etc etc all right and that's going to be his decision so um all right so I'm going to get to Mike McDaniel Says The Dolphins Will Add Another Veteran QB & QBs I'd Pursue Over Skylar your comment pretty much after this article Darth so let's talk about this okay so Dolphins they move ahead with Thompson as a starter McDaniel updates tongue of aloa so dolphin's coach Mike McDaniel indicated Friday that the team intends to stick with Skyler Thompson as a starting quarterback while two Tung heals from a concussion stains Thursday's game against Buffalo McDaniel had no immediate update date on tongo status during a 10 a.m. Friday media briefing because a quarterback's meeting with the medical officials had not yet occurred Friday McDaniel said he has zero ID on a timetable for Tango's return but that he isn't expected to play Sunday obviously at Seattle the Dolphins have said that Tango has full movement in his extremities as alert and was in good spirits and McDaniel said highly communicative talking to teammates after Thursday's game to Tong ofo's concussion was his third confirmed as a professional and reportedly the fourth of his life if he believes retirement is a consideration for tongue of L McDaniel said it would be so wrong for me to sniff that subject it's more in line with actually caring about a human being you're talking about his career his career is his bringing up his future is not in the best interest of him I would plead with everyone that generally cares that should be the last thing on his mind ask if the team is considering adding a veteran quarterback to start or compete with Thompson to start McDaniel said the team and organization are very confident in Skyler there's a reason he is our backup quarterback I'm expecting him to be the next man up but McDaniel said we will bring in someone based on McDaniel's comment the implications a new quarterback signed would either compete with practice squad quarterback Tim Bole for the number two JW behind Thompson or serve as a third string quarterback on the practice squad but McDaniel said he expects to have three healthy quarterbacks available to play in week three at Seattle former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick on Amazon's broadcast said the Dolphins should play to un injured reserve which would sideline him for the Tennessee game the Seattle game the New England game and the Indianapolis game the Dolphins have a bye week October 13th at if talo goes on IR he'd be eligible for the Arizona game I think that's the game if he's coming back that's when it's probably going to happen McDaniel said would be turn wer he should go on IR M Daniel said he would support tongo wearing a guardian cap which reduces the chance of head injuries in future games but did not indicate if he would not require it McDaniel said tongoa is like a family member to him McDaniel kissed tangaloa on the side of the head as he walked off the field following the concussion what did McDaniel tell tongue of aloa I told him he's the starting quarterback of his family and go to the locker room take a deep breath and I'll see you soon my dad Daniel addressed some other issues on Friday he said he expects Taran Armstead who has a shoulder injury to return sooner than later and it doesn't look like the worst case scenario where it's a season ending issue my God he was battling to the point where he could have played if he would have allowed his competitive nature to overtake the pressure but he knew something was wrong so far with the information I'm optimistic it'll be something he'll be playing here sooner than later why did McDaniel Ed Kendall lamb and not Patrick Paul at left tackle after Armstead left for good MCD said Paul is definitely capable in different situations I would have been more open mind to it when you're coming off the bench as a rookie for the first time in a division game where there's a lot of frustration it might not have been the right spot in games like that if it's your first taste I would try to avoid guys getting their first burn in the regular season in a situation like that it's definitely considered I thought it was the best to go with Kendall given the experience and the productivity he's given all right here's where I'm at if they got to add a quarterback I'm just going to tell you guys flat out right now okay okay um I would want the guys that I want were I would try to trade for Sam Howell everyone knows I'm as Sam Howell he's the backup um in Seattle we're about to play him um I would or I would try to acquire Davis Mills from Houston or I'd go out and get jamus Winston those would be the top three on my list if I'm going I don't think Tom Brady is going to leave the broadcast Booth to come take snap behind this off ensive line if Tom Brady's willing to leave the broadcast booth and come take some snaps and two it says I'm shutting it down for the season hey do whatever you got to do now he's 45 I'm not expecting a lot I'm gonna be honest with you um Andy Dalton M Jones Jimmy G or Russell Wilson they could be options too but they're more meth to me surprisingly I think based on how he's played as a backup the best one out of that group is probably going to be Andy Dalton because of what he did with Carolina Like You Know M Jones I we're going to ask McDaniel to work in Miracle like you know Jimmy G I think he's washed and Russell Wilson doesn't stay in structure enough I can't even believe this is a topic of discussion but the guys that I would be Target in my top three are jamus Winston Davis Mills or Sam Howell now Ryan tanhill is out there I don't think he works this offense properly Nate subfields out there no thanks Jimmy Jean no thanks Trevor Simeon no thanks I know people have talked about Carson Wentz but do we not remember what Carson Wentz looked last time he played CJ bethard uh I mean if they bring in CJ bethard they're not serious about bringing in a replacement for Skyler you know um I don't think tanhill fits this offense I really don't so um you know could you call the Ravens and try and get Tyler Huntley he's another guy I'd be interested in Tyler Huntley if you could I don't want Tre Lance people are saying Tre Lance why do we want Trey Lance we need to win we need someone who's going to potentially bring us W's that's the problem we're at we need someone who's going to try you cannot convince guys like Ramsay and everyone on this team to they're not going to be convinced to tank like I'm not going to start talking drafting quarterbacks till I see this record play out and I don't want Jo Flo because we know what it looked like in the playoffs last year give me Sam I'm telling you Sam how is the best option I think jamus is actually a good option too he spent all that time in New Orleans I think jamus is a good option too he had lasc surgery I I think I think jamus Winston's a good option I would love Sam how if you're looking for a young guy with upside who can come in and get us wins right away I think Sam Howell is that guy that that's what I think and I think Davis Mills and another guy who's proven he's had wins Davis Mills is a good selection too because he's proven he he can win at the NFL level and this is his second season under Ryan slowick who came over remember he was the 49ers quarterback coach so he's running offshoot of this offense so I think the transition for a guy like David Mills Davis Mills wouldn't be that bad give me Winston Howell if Tua is out for the season and shutting it down give me Tua give me Tua out for the season and then give me Howell Winston or Davis Mills and I don't think you got to give up a lot I really don't so there you go there's your qu answer to your question um Darth now continuing on Miami Dolphins Have Financial Insurance Built In Tua's Contract here per source with knowledge of the Dolphins contract with Tua the team has an insurance that would cover up to 49.3 million of the 167.000 million that is guaranteed for injury so for all of you wondering about how this would play out with the cap there you go that that is what it would be cap Wise Guys over 440 of you in the room smash that like button subscribe if you're new and people are saying I don't see the seaha Hawks moving how they got Gino Smith and I'm not for this I see people saying trade aan Trey waddle I'm not blowing up our our young Foundation sorry not happening if the season goes sideways and a guy like Kias Campbell wants to get traded to a contender okay I get it if you could get me Sam Howell I would give you a fourth or a fifth I would give you a fourth or a fifth for Sam H how here are the snap Counts from Miami Dolphins Offensive & Defensive Snap Counts For Week 2 yesterday offensively you can see um you know look it only had three linemen play 100% of the snaps ugly Robert Jones played 53% cotton played 47 Wadd played the you know Wadd and Hill played the majority of the snaps aan played 62% of the snaps yesterday thank God for hen holy gez Durham SMI jnu Smith jnu's got to get more involved I I thought our best players yesterday were jonu aan um I thought David long was really good as well right um you know I thought there was only like four or five guys who were really good and um what I didn't agree with is why is hn out there late in the game right uh but yeah I thought chop I thought chop Robinson was strong yesterday too I thought chop Robinson played a very good game anyways du boss he saw 34% the snaps um Tanner Connor only had three offensive snaps but he had 10 on special teams Wilson he had 11 snaps total Wright had 18 so Jaylen Wright in his debut out snaap Jeff Wilson Jr was running back too defensively Brooks and David long played 100% of the snaps Kendall Fuller who quite frankly he's been the best corner on this team the last two weeks he played 91% of the snaps Ramsay he played 91% uh puyer who looks puyer I'm sorry he looks it looks like his age has caught up to him puyer did not look good yesterday I thought at all uh Aon Holland played 91% of the snaps as well Storm duck got 4% of the snaps I think Mark Marcus may you need to start rotating Marcus May who only played Four snaps yesterday you need to start rotating him in for puyer a little bit and give Elijah cam with some more snaps too seriously Quinn Bell had 16 snaps Phillips had 23 so he only played 51% of the snaps to Jaylen Phillips yesterday chop played more snaps he had 24 53% chop was actually the Leading Edge rusher yesterday and he was actually chop was putting some big grown men back on their heels yesterday so shout out to chop he was he was doing the damn thing he really was brutal brutal brutal brutal um all right let's hop over to Miami Dolphins PFF Grades For Week 2 Vs. The Buffalo Bills the PFF grades let's look at him so when you get into the offensive grades um hn was your number one graded guy 76 Johnny was number two at 73.7 Kendall lamb was number three at a 73.2 Aaron Brewer number four out of 72.6 and Julian Hill somehow what he was whiffing on Bo and not making stretch catches did I mean he had an opportunity from Skyler and Tua to make a nice touchdown catch he couldn't make either one and he was whiffing on blocks early but somehow he's our fifth highest graded guy worst graded guys were Austin Jackson Alec ingled Skyler Thompson Duram SMI and Tu a Tong of aloa were your bottom five graded guys I thought Robert Jones is worse than Tua to be honest with you but and Grant Tu B I don't know how we're grading him good at all but okay whatever floats your boat man um when we get into the passing here there is your chart to for two deep between the numbers um and on the Deep level um two for six on the intermediate level um seven for8 on the short level and then um8 for eight behind the line of scrimmage when he was kept clean he was 14 of 21 two of his interceptions came on that 104 yards um they didn't charge anyone with drops yesterday but his adjusted completion percentage would have went up to about 70% Under Pressure he was three of four for touchdown in an interception average depth of Target when he's kept clean was 7.7 Under Pressure it was five his uh time to throw when he's kept clean was 1.87 seconds when he was under pressure it's about 3.2 seconds um his passer rating when he kept clean yesterday was 38.7 when he was under pressure it was 107.3 when you look at Skyler 0 for one on the Deep level um two for seven on the intermediate level uh four for four on the short level and then two for two on behind the line of scrimmage he was six of 10 when he's kept clean um took about 2.75 seconds to throw when he was kept clean with a passer rating of 73.3 his um depth ad adjusted depth of Target was about 7.6 um under pressure he was 204 um and his average at the Target was about uh 4.5 his passer rating was 74 and it's time to throw is about 2.52 when you look at the blocking stats you see the pressures Austin Jackson gave up seven pressures yesterday Kendall lamb gave up two Lester cotton gave up two um aan gave up one Robert Jones gave up one Armstead gave up one leam mikenberg gave up one and remember I said this was going to be a question about Austin Jackson's game what does it look like when he doesn't have Robert Jones Robert hunt next to him are we going to see a dip in his play and seven pressures that's the most he's given up in a long time defensively your number one graded guy was Jordan Brooks chop was number two Zack Zack seeler was number three Marcus May was number four Kendall Fuller was number five ker coou was number 20 Brandon peely was the second worst Jaylen Phillips was the third worst Javon Holland was the fourth worst and Elijah Campbell was the fifth worst graded Defender yesterday and when you look at the coverage matchups David long targeted five times allowed five five receptions for um a total of 59 yards Jordan Brooks targeted three times allowed one reception for nine yards and he had a pass break up Jaylen Ramsey targeted twice allowed two receptions for 40 yards and a first down Kendall Fuller targeted twice did not allow a reception ker coou targeted twice allowed two receptions for 20 yards and a first down Jaylen Phillips targeted twice in coverage um against King Kane and Samuel allowed two receptions for 12 yards puyer targeted once and shut it down for a loss of one yard so those are your PFF grades for this past week all right and then let's get into Josh Allen’s Week 2 Next Gen Stats Passing Chart Vs. The Miami Dolphins the next gen stats for each and every one of you so here was the passing chart for Josh Allen really not that impressive wasn't really taking any risks wasn't really pushing the ball 13 of 19 for 139 and a touchdown completion percentage overe expected was plus 2.2% really nothing great nothing to shake your stick at he really wasn't pushing the ball he wasn't ask you they put up 31 points and that guy did nothing that that that's scary it's the same thing as the Kansas City Chiefs in week one put up all those points and Mahomes did nothing scary thought and then you look at this Tua Tagovailoa’s Week 2 Next Gen Stats Passing Chart Vs. The Buffalo Bills passing chart here um to a Tong of aloa the three interceptions 17 of 25 for 145 his completion percentage overe expected was minus 5.4% again Tu a tangaloa he wasn't even overly pushing because of the cover two shells he was taking the underneath he was trying to take more of what the defense gave him so not exactly Miami Dolphins Vs. Buffalo Bills Week 2 Next Gen Stats pretty and then when you get into the next gen stats um oh let's get into the stats here so Josh all had the longest completed air distance of 33.6 Skyler had the second longest with 32.2 fastest ball carrier was James Cook yesterday at 20.99 Tyreek was number two at 19.584745999999996 except NextGen started it chatted charted it as 0 for one to the left and 0 for one to the middle while PFF had it 0 for two in the middle um next gen had him one for three to the left on the intermediate one for two to the middle and 0 for one to the right on the intermediate level whereas PFF had him 0 for one to the left on the intermediate two for four to the middle in the intermediate and 0 for one to the right of the intermediate um to the left short next gen stats at him three for three to the middle short short two for two to the right short two for two um basically PFF had him two for three to the left short three for three to the middle short two for two to the right short and then behind the line of scrimmage he was a four for five four the to the left short and one for one to the middle short and three for three to the right short on PFF he was one for one to the left short four for four to the middle behind the line of scrimmage and three for three to the middle of behind the line of scrimmage you look at the rushing Direction look at hn finding wide left inside left inside right wide right finding success through all the gaps James Cook was eaten off that you know in the gaps in the a gap B Gap to the right my God Jaylen Wright found some success off the right side when you look at receiving the league average and separation is about 2.96 yards um jnu Smith Wadd and Ty kill all cleared that Grant duas and chosen fell under it on the other side Shakir and Kade cleared that while Samuel Coleman and Matt Collins did not when you look at the average separation when it comes to defensive pass rush um it's about you know the average is 4.56 Yards Austin Johnson was beneath that so was Greg Russo Ed Oliver was just beyond it and so was epinesa and then Kias Campbell was well beyond it so is sealer Phillips ogba so just not getting a ton of pressure yesterday but we already knew that and we didn't need nextg stats to tell us that right like I mean you know that's just a fact so I don't know what else to say um tomorrow I'm probably Final Thoughts going to have an episode of Finn too deep with Neil just working out the time so I'll keep you guys posted expect to see me tomorrow some more reaction guys like I said this episode is sponsored by bet us go head over to bet us.com right now go use our website go put in some parlays go make some picks for this weekend's college football and NFL football action use code YouTube 150 that's YouTube 150 and get your first three deposits matched up to 2 $2,000 by 150% just please remember to gamble responsibly again that's use code youtube5 guys do me the favor over 400 of you in the room smash that like button subscribe if you're new I hope you enjoy the rest of your day I will see you guys later on the next one look out for fin too deep this weekend until next time you already know what time it is Fins Up all day every day and we'll see y'all in the next one take it easy guys in prayers are to and his family
