those Crossing Elementary we're out here right now kind of tell us the situation yeah so we received a call just uh after 11:00 this morning that an 8-year-old child had ran away from the playground area at Bell's Crossing uh that child's name is lonel cantes um 8 years old last thing wearing a blue shirt we have learned that Lano uh lives with autism uh and that he might be uh somewhat nonverbal um he bu he will respond and uh particularly to his mother so right now we have his mother with deputies riding around putting her on the PA system doing call outs and hopes that he will he will he will appear uh we have search and rescue teams I would say anywhere between 50 and 100 deputies that are involved in this search just trying to locate him anywhere in around that area we're just asking anyone in the community to check their property um you know places that they might not normally go during the day around their their homes and uh if they locate him to call 911 immediately we disseminated that picture you're probably looking at right now we're asking anyone anyone and everyone to to help with information that we can try to locate him as sooner as possible time is critical it absolutely is and that's I you know the sooner that we can get out get boots on the ground and start these search efforts the the better chance that we can locate that child and particularly in a case like this where the child is can be non-verbal or autistic it can just present whole new challenges um talk a little bit of some of the challenges well I mean anytime you're dealing with someone who's who who lives with autism and is non-verbal who won't necessarily be able to communicate back you might see a child they might take off running certain sounds might might frighten them um and so just the way that you're able to to communicate them is is so super important you know hand movements and mannerisms and that's why we just ask everyone that the moment that they do see him to get 911 called so that we can get deputies and make contact with that with that job okay they're want me to say is the mother does she speak English um I I haven't talked they trying to figure out if we we have someone INRI speak Spanish in case we need to yeah I know we have Spanish speaking deputies here yeah um and as far as the public what what are you asking from the public uh just to be vigilant just check your surroundings call 911 if they see him um in and around that area uh we have witnessed on the video surveillance though uh the child crossing over or under uh a fence by that playground um around 11:00 but still we went classroom by classroom and we have deputies and and uh people from the district that are currently actively doing that right now checking all the classroom just to make sure that he didn't somehow double back and get theide the school we're just trying to cross all our te's and doll our eyes to make sure that uh he's not still here that's that's media right youall plan to have a drones or Choppers in the area oh yeah I mean everything that we possibly can as part of our search and rescue team is is going to be involved in this search did y'all get sort of a sense of his Direction travel when he left yes I mean we were able to pick up on video where he last was last seen leaving from and that was from The Backs side of bills Crossing near that place play ground and so that's kind of where those search efforts concentrated at and then they're headed towards the Jon Jonesville area and really we're just saturating this whole area because it's been you know just after 11:00 now and now I mean you're already talking about an hour and hour and a half later or so and controlling on foot or stationary yeah we have rumors we have people who are stationary we have dogs on the ground everything that we possibly can to locate this TR and I'm seeing behind you a playground would that would that have been the one so maybe okay that's the back of the correct uh anything I didn't touch on you can add or let us know about no that's that's pretty much it again just if anyone sees him call 911 immediately
