Commanders Will Build a Statue for Sean Taylor. Reason Behind Jahan Dotson Trade

what's good commanders fans just wanted to make a quick video and um just recognized that the commanders are doing right by Sean tayor building a statue taking down they already took down the memorial that was put up and um I know his daughter Jackie Taylor said that she liked it but I do think they could have done better I think we all agree on that it did look like a mannequin uh was a bunch of wires they had Adidas shoes with the with the Nike jersey on I know he wore Adidas as well but um yeah it was just like come on guys you guys can do a lot like you look at Baltimore with Ray Lewis they they gave him a legitimate statue like other teams have given their players real statues and not wires like he didn't even have a face like it really look like a mannequin that you see at Foot Locker or Champs or Shoe City places like that it really did I mean it really did I thought they could have did a lot better even in the the spokesperson that wrote wrote something for the commanders it says quote after careful consideration we have decided as an organization to remove the Sha Taylor installation from Commander field we realize that the installation fell short in honoring one of our franchise's most iconic players together with the Taylor family we are working on a plan which includes unveiling a statue that will rightfully celebrate the Legacy and impact that Shawn had on our organization fan base and Community the Washington commanders are committed to honoring our Legends in a first class manner end quote so that's great to hear man Josh Harris coming in and doing things the right way we know everything was rushed with Dan Snider I remember him and Jason Wright and I'm not going to blame Jason Wright but that game against I think I think it was the Chiefs that we played uh for like the homecoming game or whatever we lost that game and they rushed and they said that like the week before a couple days before they said that would be the Shawn T Taylor game that we recognize him and a lot of fans were upset because they just found if they would have known that before the season then fans would have made the arrangements to fly in or wherever they live or make make it make a big uh thing to make sure that they get tickets to go to that game for the Shawn Taylor Memorial game so a lot of a lot of wrong things done by Dan uh shout out of war paath in the uh my Elite Channel member group chat he was like um Dan was fighting the legal fees had to pay all those legal fees so he went cheap with with getting the statue so it was very it was very um not well done by Dan Steiner and Jason right at the time so I'm happy that they are doing this in Bill him statue sea deserves it man I know Freddy Mitchell is still scared thinking about sha Taylor coming across the middle Terrell Owens is still scared thinking about Shawn Taylor coming across the middle I know that Pro that punter and the pro bowler is still shook by that hit by Sha Taylor I always remember this scooping score against the Eagles for the touchdown and the fumble recovery for a touchdown against the Buccaneers and the playoffs I mean all the great things that Shawn did looking at some of his numbers again man like he had five interceptions in that in that 2007 season so sad I mean I remember when I was young I was young when it happened unfortunately when he passed away and man I was I was definitely emotional when it did happen but five interceptions in that 2007 season was just incredible and only n games and then four interceptions his rookie year two-time pro bowler um two picks in 2005 114 combined tackles in 2006 when he made the Pro Bowl I mean he was just on his way like he did arrive but like he had so much more left in the tank man and he was going to be an incredible player for years and years to come so it just unfortunate to see his career cut short for sure uh from a terrible terrible incident so I am happy that he is getting getting a statue very very welld deserved and even Adam shf tweeted about it said commanders will be removing the previous sha Taylor installation and partnering with Jackie Taylor his daughter and the Taylor family on a new Statue I know Pedro Taylor uh played for was it rice yeah he went to Rice he he was playing safety he was a good safety so I got to I've been trying to follow his career and see if he's still playing football if he's still in college or or made it to the league or any type of League or anything like that any type of professional football league but this is great so I hope they announce the game that they're going to do this that they're going to unveil the statue or something like that I'm going definitely do my best to be in the building I went to the game too the game after was against the bills where they uh the game after that he passed away and that was just a sad sad game I was in the building for the Dallas game when the punt was the kick the kick was blocked the field goal was blocked and Shawn returned it all the way back just for us to get into field goal position I think the the kicker was who was the kicker in that game I remember Joe Gibbs is the coach I remember I was going home I was on my way home I was still in the building I was still in the stadium shame on me for not still believing in the team but I was we were leaving me and my dad we were on a way to go home and then the crowd just go the stadium just erupts and it was sea Taylor because he was returning the PT back like he was going back and forth like not only did he make plays to get an interception but he was like making plays to make returns and gets touchdowns and flip the field like that's just how good he was that was the pre presence of mind he had I think it was uh might have been Nick Novak in that game if I'm if I'm not mistaken I got to look that up and make sure um against the Cowboys I'm looking this up right now but that was one of the that was one of the Great Moments that I remember for he had Randy mul shook too I remember that game we beat the Vikings he yeah Randy Moss uh shook in in that game too for real so I remember that man but uh that was a heck of a heck of a sequence for the end of the game by Shawn Taylor for sure so um I hate to wrap up on a negative note but just to get some closure on Johan dots in here um kind of getting some more reasoning and some more beat reporters came up with what they all like B Mitch has not come out and said that Johan doson was the guy with the bad body language but basically we kind of are starting to figure out that it was Johan Dodson with some underwhelming body language because JP Finley came out and said he said Johan's body language and attitude were signs that he was frustrated especially when the team had him returning puns I do remember JP Finley saying that um some guys look disinterested returning interested interested returning punts and that they um just weren't showing much effort there were some guys that were really trying to do it hard like probably Jameson Crowder probably zakus probably Davon Davis probably Cass Allen guys like that fighting to make the spot as punt returners but zakus is basically our wide receiver number two and number three at this point so he's going to make the roster anyway but he did say some guys look like they didn't feel like doing it and it sounds like Johan Dodson was doing that so I'm as days go on do I agree with the trade I don't but I do understand why the ma was moving if he wasn't Mal conton in the locker room and wasn't you know had an attitude or bad body language and just didn't fit what they want to do and somebody commented that you know the receiver it's going to be a receiver by committee you know other than ter M they're going to do a lot of rpos get Guys open Jaden's going to make guys better the Run game basically with um B is probably gonna be like Alfred Morris I hate to compare but you know you get that in the sense where he's just going to have easy like there there's probably gonna be big lanes open because of Jaden Daniel's legs and the pressure that he's going to put on a defense and then Austin Eck is going to be another receiver out there so that's basically what they're banking on and then they just didn't like the physicality of Johan dots in the two games and two preseason games where he didn't block well against the Jets didn't block well against the Dolphins once again I don't agree on just trading somebody because they struggle to block downfield as a receiver because I still be like I still believe that Johan Dawson can get you a couple of touchdowns he can get you at least four or five receiving touchdowns which is pretty darn good can get you 400 500 yards is that great no but you know it's better than what we've seen from a lot of the guys that we have other than Terry M on the roster at this point but I understand he didn't fit their system they didn't see eye to eye and like I said maybe Jan they had a conversation where they're like hey man we're getting calls and do you want to go back to Pennsylvania and play because we know you went to Penn State and Johan probably like hey man I I'll do it it's just not working out here you know he wasn't able to be beat out dami brown and uh beat out zakus for spot two and three so that's that on that uh once again I hate trading within the division but that's probably the best offer we could get um I did hear that get did get other calls from other teams nobody has said who the other teams are but um they did get other calls from other teams and maybe they maybe they got a different that probably was the best offer but maybe they could have traded him somewhere out of the division and got maybe like a fourth round pick or something like that I don't like that they had to add a fifth round pick just to move them to get to get a third round pick that's probably one of the things that I don't like about the trade but um it sounds like he just you know they both sides were probably ready to move on I just don't like the part that you give away a weapon when your number two number three guys are Dei Brown who hasn't proven to do anything his career high and catches is 12 and then zakus was basically wide receiver number four for the Eagles last year wide receiver number three for the Eagles last year so I can't really expect zakus to break out and have an incredible season but hey you never know it's going to be a different philosophy a different scheme Up Tempo getting the ball out quickly running the football I love that Anthony Lynn is a part of the Run game he's a run game coordinator too so the Run game is going to be very very high octane and very potent and um they just want receive that can go out there and block and I guess help this run game out so I do wish Johan the best Eagles fans are super super hyped I saw a tweet where he has like more touchdowns than olve which he does I mean it is what it is he has 11 touchdowns a has like seven or something like that so I mean that is that's a fact um that um what's his name Jan has that you know Jan had a really good rookie year like that rookie year was very very very promising um yeah he has 11 Al has nine George Pickins has nine gett Wilson has seven and Drake London has six so he has the most touchdowns out of that draft class and in touchdowns so and that's a fact so but I'll end on that like I said bygones be bygones let's use this third round pick to possibly get another receiver will it be Brandon iuk who knows um but at least I hope hopefully they can parlay that third round pick and move it for a good receiver or use it in next year's draft for a good player so we'll see all
