EA FC 24 | Summer Career Mode | #32 | FA Cup Final v Bolton Wanderers

what's up guys and welcome back to another episode of The Summer career mode it is episode number 32 it's the season finale as you wrap up season 4 today with history up reading's first ever final of a domestic cup competition as we'll take on the championship side Bolton wanders where we faced efl sides all the way through to the final yeah we might have been Plucky little ring at the start of the save but there's no doubt about it heading to this FA Cup Final we're the Bad Guys we the villains taking on the championship side who to be fair have actually won it four times in their club's history reading have never won a major honor but that should should change today and we're going to crack straight into it as well it's the season finale on the back of our seventh place finish in the Premier League where because of Leicester winning the Carib cup we might need to win this to qualify for a European competition for next season but I feel incredibly confident as we are strong favorites headings this one as yeah I'll say it the bad guys the reading taking on Balon wanders in the FA Cup Final going for reading's first major honor in club history let's go get it and avoid the giant kidding at wo come on you feeling incredibly confident pregame probably shouldn't have put us in a home kit for that sorry if it's a bit clashy but I think we're going to be all right out there despite the fact we had to scrape through Norwich in the semis coming from behind against the championship side here omble despite the fact we've only had one win in our last four games as well oh that's a massive interception I mean put it this way we had that thrashing loss to Manchester City and we got beat 60 I think my heaviest loss in FC 24 I said we're not at that level yet and put it this way Bolton wonderous they're up to the championship now bottom half of the table team they're not at our level yet so I I I just feel we we should just have enough quality to to come through with minimal th 24 minutes in still nil nil but at the moment it's yeah we're pressing with intensity and and when a stronger side do press like this normally it's only a matter of time before the pressure pays off well still nil nil nothing really going on as of yet half time at some point I need to kick it up a gear but often times in a mismatch between teams what happens is what we've seen it can take a while to warm up but eventually the weaker side gets worn down I'm still confident I'll be honestly the kits are clashing a little bit I'm getting my excuses out of the way early here kits are clashing a little bit that's my my silly fault but this will be one and it'll be fitting for them oh my goodness the man who gets it but they said he put it wide Harvey some Miss is the target being with us since season one the OG and should have given us the lead far as it past Nathan baxer but also pass the post as well but like I said the break man this is this is what often happens in the second half in a game between two teams that are mismatched it might have been leveled for a while but eventually eventually that weaker side the energy levels start to deplete a bit quicker as the game wears on and eventually their resistance wears off I I I I still don't think it'll be long Bolton's best chance is just digging deep and taking this dep pens it's going to be yours mate yeah what him and to peer through the Gap nibs says I can't finish but I can oh my goodness help set up a goal no mcgree off the post and bow get it away 23 minutes of normal time to play Still n nil it's literally just being all oneway traffic a training exercise really is exactly what I was expecting but I thought by now the goal would have been scored not yet still time R Andi nibs the dummy Runner mcgree come on scored the winner in the CI just hit the post pegs it back and FY denied by Nathan baxer this time goodness gracious we're getting the chances now just can't put a Finishing Touch on it Harvey's delivery punched away and mcgree shot block yeah this is exactly how I expected the game to go all oneway traffic Bolton just trying to cling on and take this to pens can they can they shut us out for two hours though surely not well I thought this would be a bit of a formality in the end whilst we've had the chances we haven't finished the longer the game went on the more we got though so it is still nil nil heading into into extra time and Bolton's dogging defending in great STS by back to force extra time there's still 30 more minutes I'm I'm pretty confident we'll find a breakthrough if it goes to pens I think we're going to botle there what I'll do is I'll push Harvey down and I'll take off to piia bring on vmer for a bit more creativity McRee I'm going to take him off for a spre I know he comes up big scored a win in a semi as well but I think I'll take actually you know I'm going to play mccre at left wing back I said before he can he can play there um even though he's better further forward he has got a bit defensive ability and I think I'll just go with that for now didn't put Kelvin on the bench I mean he's only scored one goal in two years that came in the last game and that is the thing when we're not getting the goal we haven't got like a standing Striker that I can bring on instead but there there's again there's this half an out of play as extra time begins I I feel confident I feel confident being even more aggressive bringing on Vil halmer bringing on a spria we'll find a breakthrough and it's all we're going to need it's all we're going to need it was coming it was going to come at some point and what do I always say when you doing all the right things just haven't had a breakthrough yet just keep doing all the right things eventually your persistence will pay off and Doney gives us surely the FA Cup up yep as much as I'd like to blame my relatively poor performance on the fact I didn't do a great job of Kit selection the truth of the matter is I just did not have a very clinical finish on me today but in the end it's just the one goal we needed because that is going to be the difference between the FA Cup and a Runners up medal it's over it's done we were massive massive favorites pregame and whilst I was unconvincing in performance it does not matter at the end of the day it is over it is done it is our first in club history and our first major honor in the save the bad guys the villains stopping the fairy tale ending of a championship side going all the way first in club history it is done but look which is a sketch comedy show um created by the creators of Peep Show one of the best British comedies in the past two decades in my opinion where uh David Mitchell and Robert Webb are playing two Nazi officers David Mitchell is like a low ranking officer and he says to Robert Webb who's his commanding officer I just looked at our cat we got the skull and the crossbones are we the baddies that's exactly how it felt into the final we we all want like the Plucky little reading Underdog team but not in this FA Cup run we were the baddies all the way to the final and in the final itself but in this final yeah I couldn't afford to take it easy on our Championship counterpart simply put had to get the job done and did reasonably comfortably because the truth is once it took extra time to get us there and only winning by a go to0 we were on top from the very first whistle it just took a while for the pressure to pay off but eventually it did reading first major honor in club history as we went all the way beating Championship sides and League one sides sh athletic all the way to winning it as well yeah it's an honor but you know the football purist will say it's got an asterisk next to her that is something which I uh I do kind of dislike about uh what we often see uh on on social media when a team wins a championship and I see it a lot in the NBA obviously I'm a massive basketball fan massive NBA fan and you see like every time like there's a new NBA champion I I know I know it's a bit tongue and cheek I know it's not always said with sincerity but it was it's always like someone would be like there's there's an asterisk next to this it was the bubble it's it's not a real ring or um you know this this star player was injured so it wouldn't have mattered or you know the Celtics for example who just won the last championship then you got people on social media saying oh yeah but the East was weak this year and it's like it's just excuses every single year do you know what I mean I feel I feel like I see it more often now on on social media people downplaying championships but in this case I think it probably is Justified though cuz when you look at the run I know I've said it a couple times but when you look at the run it it's the easiest run I've ever had without a shadow of a doubt you know it's not the first time face of Championship side in the final I fac I faced two of them before in this year's FC for career modes but it's the easiest run I've ever had no doubt about it and that's why I'm kind of downplaying a little bit it's fantastic to win the first in club history I'm buzzing with that but Championship side in the third round League one side in the fourth round Championship side in the fifth round Championship side in the corners Championship side in the semis Championship side in the final it just kind of takes away a bit of the Shine from it do you know what I mean so as you're at the season up we look at the other trophies won this season starting with the car cup where as we know Leicester went all the way to winning it beating Harry Kane's Arsenal 3-1 in the final as for the Europa conference League which again we might be going into next season but it should be the Europa League now on the back of that win uh in the FA Cup Final that's the qualifier for the for the Europa League but again you never know with career mode but anyway uh for the EUR conference League this year it was PSV beating via roale 4-2 on penalties to win Europe's bronze competition if you will and as for the Europa League like I said we should be going into this competition for next season some Blockbuster ties going on from the last 16 onwards where it was an Atletico Madrid versus AC Milan final and it was the Italians who also won a penalty shootout to win the European on a beating Athletico 3-2 on penalties to win the Europa League this year and as for the champion League going on from the last 16 onwards we know last year PTO were the winners knocked out in the last 16 this year by Manchester United however who they themselves were knocked out by inter who made the final overcoming Spurs taken on PSG and also beat the French Giants as well so mam winning the Europa League inter winning the champions league as inter Champions League winners in season four and of course they offer me the manous job back in March but it just goes to show you you see Brighton Burnley with a to to in the championship players be Watford Bristol City Sheffield United and West Brom as well it goes to show you like man manager offers are a bit strange at times don't get me wrong when it was offered to me I was pleased to see it because you very rarely get manager offices Plymouth and barsley are up in the league one a m promotion places with pompy Peter Chon and Derby in the playoffs but it's like why would they offer me the job they were going for a champions league and I assume a sera will find out in a moment as well why would they then offer me the job at that point it makes no sense but as for League 2 L orian Bon albian and car out the top three fet with Mansfield chelam and Gillingham in the playoffs and the team bottom of the football league this year was cwy Town M lost the CL final but almost always winners of leun PSG finishing 12 clear Monaco uh to win the French top tier this season I don't believe this I really don't Harry he's cursed honestly the past three years Bayern have not won the Bundesliga where he's been there Kane left to join Arsenal this year and then Bayern Win It The Following Season 9 clearer leig is Arsenal who did win the last two Premier League titles in this save obviously didn't win it this year with Man City back on top and they lost to car got final to Leicester he's cursed Harry he's cursed as for the Ser Juventus top no into a long way off the Ser in the end so I guess I can see what he did offer me the job but juuve winers by four points with Milan second Napoli third and Torino getting in the top four uh in Italy's top tier this season it was a conference league and arid de Visa double for PS V finishing two clear of Fin and four clear of ax to win uh the Dutch top tier this year Porto champions of the league out pug gal finishing sixth clear of Benfica uh with sporting in third place Braga for me normally do finish in fourth this year dropping all the way to sixth place though uh in the Portuguese top tier and as for the Scottish Premiership as I always say it's the first phase you don't get to see the second phase you just got to assume whoever's on top wins the championship and this year that was Celtics six clear of Rangers with hard in third this year Atletico Madrid winners of La Liga as Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez unite to Dethrone Real Madrid and Barcelona as they finished seven clear their Madrid Rivals and a whopping 15 clear of BARC in third real sad with a fourth place side of sh bilbow had a really poor season by their standards and as always we end with the turkey super league and the ls where galatas the storm of a year with 33 wins and 38 finishing a whopping 19 clear ship Tas to win the Turkish Super League with fibach in third and traon support in fourth and as for the MLS this has just got going and as you see it's LA Galaxy who have jumped out it's the quickest start right now 11 wins in 17 and only to one loss as I always say you can tell when Messi's retired depending on where into Miami are in the table when you look in the MLS when he's there when he's still playing normally they're always first second or third but when he's retired they dropped down the table quite a bit and so as always to end the season officially we'll take one last look at the squad team management Squad Hub and team Sheet star rating as well we're still a four-star team I believe but I think we're on the cby in a four and a half Star team now and when you look at the team as well as I always say the team we are at the start of the Season isn't the team we are at the end of it because the growth of the young players and once again some solid growth from some of our younger players this year Reggie's now to 82 Tyler despite the injury is 78 as well amuny of course who came as I new number nine 83 overall Dennis is now 81 overall as well the team's getting get better and better gradually and gradually and even with working with a small budget what I quite like about it is that so much of this team has been it since the first season and Ben a brief for Kamar and Kelvin don't get me wrong we in the resis but then you got Harvey who features in an awful lot of our games Boyce Clark is still our backup goalkeeper Charlie Savage is still here and then of course again you also got Aziz who is our our starting right winger as well so yeah we've grown the team so well since season one I just love how it's not it's not just got a lot of W the kids in there you know we're doing it quite realistically and I just love the identity we're building here with reing now there's still a long way to go for the new season no doubt about it as I always say when we end the season we assist the team we think what we going to need for next season well defending an FA Cup defending a trophy won for the first time ever I tell you what I do need I need EA to look at this stop telling me Bennett's in bad form when the guys went backto back Golden Gloves at 18 years old come on upgrade this kid man serious ly he deserves at least the exciting prospect tag as they see Dennis here going 3 to 81 over he was solid this year as well three goals and two assists in 30 games um I I I would say this year our defense took a step back no doubt about it we are one of the best defensive records in the division last year but this season we took a step back we scored more goals we scored over double the amount of goals we got last season and a big reason why was the signing of voney up top but going you know defending we really struggle this year and we considered a lot of silly goals as well so no doubt about it whilst Tyler and Owen is still a really good young CB Duo I think personally with panzo not getting any better now at 26 years old and remaining at 75 overall for the entire season owens's growth as we know has been slow gradual yes but still quite slow I think in my opinion we know the budget we get at the start of the Season may not be very big as it hasn't been since the sa was began every year we've been working with limited budgets but whatever we get I think this season the plan was buy a new Striker with whatever money we've got I think for the new season season five whatever kind of money we've got however big or small the budget is buy a new center half I think we need a good new Star Center half to improve our defense we took a step back this year no doubt about that Reggie at four ratings though and continuing to get better and better with four goals and four assists in 36 League games this year as well I'm hoping that Luke is going to retire at the end of next season as well he's still got three years left on it after extended in the summer but 32 years old not playing much and most of his minutes now come from the bench as well I'm hoping he'll retire at the end of next season so he won't need to give him a new contract the end of the season after that as well so yeah we'll see but there you go ronato grew one rating he was solid for us this year two goals and four assists in 32 games I've got no got no qualms about our DM Joo either I like rato even though he's 31 now he's still a good leader in the team and grev alongside him as well did get the injury during the season but he'll go back to 8 I'm sure heading into the new season as well so I'm fine with the DM Duo it's just at CB we do need to get a much better Defender and a real a real tough tackling Center half it's also comfortable on the ball as well see if we can find one in the summer Charlie up two not sure if he'll be it for next season or as we know now his minutes getting even more reduced he has to played 29 games but that was mainly after the injury to grev um but we'll see what happens in the summer for one of our ogs mainly because again we got this guy out on loan who's growing brilliantly Patrick C he looks absolutely amazing with 82 stamina great defensive stats and a good passer as well so if you're a six for two he could be turned into a center off but I guess we'll see Ryan mcgree up one ra to 77 overall scored the winner in the FA Cup semi-final but also six goals and an assist in 23 League games this guy's productivity is solid man absolutely solid and I want to keep the Aussie for another year but he's always unhappy about his play time right now he's okay with it but often times he'll complain 28 years old whether he stays or not I guess we'll see Felix Bishop's growing brilliantly out on loan at D Rico right now at 5 to 74 overall he'll come back in the summer I'll probably loan him out again but I'd say he's one year away from he guys play minutes in his team cell came in on the three only gr a grud one rating but Tyler Shaw by the way one of our best Academy prospects of the say so far he went up six ratings out on loan at real avota this year and this is why I often say it it's best to loan your players out as opposed to start them plus six in one season is fantastic you very rarely get that when you're starting your players for the entire year at Harvey G rating three goals and three assists in 32 League games but also three goals and six in the FA Cup as well good productivity from nibs and like I said before 28 years old not going to get much better now my grow rating here or there season or there but I want to keep this guy to he retires man he'll always have a place in my team and I'm going to ask him in the summer if he agrees to take a reduced Squad roll in exchange for a bit more money I don't want Harvey to go man I absolutely love one of the ogs Kamar will probably go in the summer though he's out of contract in 12 months time I've got no plans for him long term great debut season for Vil halmer back of the medo we said it man we said it after seven goals in 28 League games and 13 assists finishing second in the assist charts this season as well he went to S poy last year as a boy and his s side finished Rock bot with the Bundesliga with only three wins all season long in Germany's top tier those experiences that young age can either make you or break you what Ville halmer was going to return to the medi in the end it was a strong man not a fragile young boy grew five ratings to 76 overall second in assist as well really should have won the assist title how to not calm down with him in the second half of the season but tremendous productivity 20 direct contributions to goals in 20 games in the league absolutely phenomenal for the kill who's just turned 20 years old this dude is Fant fantastic and just getting better men's growing three out on loan at Bram Lane chinu Davis has growing four out on Loan in the MLS with Charlotte as well FEI didn't grow a single rating this year which is really disappointing 26 years old now don't get me wrong so I get he's not a kid anymore but five goals and four assists in 32 it's not that bad and seven goals and seven assists in 40 in all competitions reasonably solid all across the board I would say really but didn't single rating all season long that's disappointing that I'm giving him the game time but it just seems as though his potential appears to have maxed out a little bit hopefully he'll start to regrow from next season on but I guess we'll see Rodriguez though and again case in point like I said earlier this is why you loan your players out because when you start put this way V halmer this year where is he the H grew uh five ratings despite playing the majority of our games and being second and assists we sent Alonso to the championship and he grew nine ratings in the second tier it it's just so much better to loan your players out if you want quicker growth that's the best way to get it loan those players out as quickly and as frequently as you can but even so up nine ratings out on loan the Liberty in South Wales he's got another year there as well and I might recall him in the summer cut his lone spell short or keep him out there in South Wales I guess we'll see but the spr though five goals and six assists in 29 League games growing a rating to 78 overall starting to get maxed out a little bit now in his early to mid 20s but like f I'm hoping he'll Kickstart his growth once again for the new year but for one of my players of the season if not my player of the season this guy is the reason we won the FA Cup with the winner in the final and the reason why we finished top seven as well I said for the new year we had to make a difficult decision and that was sell bukari because of the low transfer budget we had and he's and of fact he only scored four goals for me all season long last year and Dy wasn't my first choice that was J Pedro in the end we had to go for the Burnley Striker but it proved to be a blessing in this guys cuz the Swiss International was really really solid okay could have been better but certainly could have been a hell of a lot worse and I'm not going to say no to 13 goals and six assists in 30 League games and of course the winner in the FA Cup f as well up three to 83 overall and new number nine a big reason why we're heading into Europe and we have a trophy in the cabinet for the first time in club history and as for Kelvin I don't know whether he'll be here for next season but I was so pleased to see it first goal in two years a 2year goal drought possibly the longest go drought ever had for one of my Strikers before but he ended it in style against Bournemouth I don't know whether he'll return for the new season he's only got one year left in this deal but to be fair we are going into Europe so we'll need those homegrown players Kelvin did come through the reading Academy so maybe I'd extend him just for the Homegrown registration rings as JJ has grown four out on Loan in Romania but that will do it for the season finale and the end of season 4 guys so big thank you for watching really hope you have
