at bat and he does with strike one I would shine into Shadows halfway to home this one has popped up tolson's got it two outs five and this is I think the really this is kind of a fascinating match up the end of the day here's a guy who does heavy damage early in the count you talk about making 73 at bats on one of the first two pitches of an at bat this one's deep to left and that ball is gone wow Tyler O'Neal hits his 25th and just like that Red Sox take a one- nothing [Applause] lead see he just goes with a slider at the bottom of the Zone comes back over towards the middle of the plate that's a good piece of hitting though you know to get down through a ball at the bottom of the Zone like that with a scoble slider and Remains the most dangerous hitter in this lineup bothered by his sword masataka Yoshida out of the lineup and TK scoel on the slider away gets Des on three pitches the O'Neal home run gives the we go to the bottom of the first inning trying to even up this series with the Red Sox at a game of piece Red Sox winning in 10 yes now the eight game hitting streak but it goes back farther than that fast ball at the belt of swinging Miss stumbling around trying to find the field when he came back up I mean he came back up with some conviction with some intensity and when he got hurt with the hamstring there that this young team everybody surrounding it is taking part in this one has popped up it's a long run for Roman Gonzalez and he's his second try got it I got it I don't got it no I got it that's incredibly quick hands on look how far this ball drops before he grabs it would you say like swipe at it I don't ever usually grab it like that no it's hitting the ground or going in the toilet depending on where you are look at this that's really good athlete this why I I call position the one1 to Riley green slider away but he's also going to give up a lot of flight balls fast ball away he'll work that two two there he goes up with the fast ball again Gonzalez again a long run and this time safely and that's just a matter of getting some more at bats Riley's always proven that when he goes into a little Funk he works his way out of it low walks High strikeouts like you said Andy loves to work the top of the strike Z with that not a ton of pitches over the plate and he gets the breaking ball the curveball in this instance into the strike zone into two strikes and that's a good take always easy got him perfect location down in the way at 94 you well he does s the breaking ball up a lot by Design it's not quite a hanger though you know it's just high enough to where it's not like that one that drops down over the middle of the plate just right at the top of the zone and when he he pairs it with that high fast ball so you see see it out of his hand it's high you give up on it and then it breaks down into the Zone it's really annoying is what it is if you're a hitter 65 righty cutter off the plate away and this is a team that lives and dies by throwing a ton of Sliders and Cutters way above League average for both and not a lot of fast balls Peta probably throws more fast balls than just about anybody on the staff almost half his pitches or fast balls par with that bright background line drive base hitting the left slid hung up a little bit Tolson trying to get something started one out he hasn't stopped swinging a foul out of play his 10 game hitting the2 is swinging the line drive down the right field line and that Ball's going to drop extra bases for mckinstry over to third goes torlon Zack McKenry just keeps on hitting on an 02 Tigers head Runners at second and third get him out with the fast ball they can't get him out with the curveball what do you throw Zack mckinstry nobody knows good piece Lance Jack Lou and I that's that's four pretty good players that were part of the PO we we added the the Dave uh Dave Bergen and Willie Hernandez with the same trade they were involved in the same
