Match Day 2 - Brighton vs Manchester United

officially the first episode it is hopefully some of you not just mother watch the pilot this is an unusual episode because it's kind of in the middle of the weekend which is not how we plan to structure them most of the time we'll do a pre-weekend and post- weekend that way you know the intention of having prediction looking at lineups thinking how the game's going to go and then we're going to have obviously in the post review of our predictions kind of how we did against each other I think we're going do a little game because I'm just so much better knowing how football go compared to you Jesus CHR stay tuned and then obviously looking at the impact of the weekend on the results this one is being filmed on Sunday so the majority of the prems come through kind of yeah well by the end of you know this the games are currently going on I think there's the 4:00 games have kicked off they pretty much 15 minutes in yeah so we'll look at those results not now in the immediate but by I think by the time we come to those results we're about HAL time somebody's already in the lead God can't wait for that matters yeah we're going to focus on the aftermath basically of Saturday yeah the pain we went through I mean you've had like a day to come down we had we shot this yesterday had we shot this yesterday there would be there would have been full range Mo emotions going through I think with what we're going to try and do over this channel is be a bit more positive in general I think the first reaction no we we have to be I think we have to be different cuz like we got to show love for the team no matter what yeah of course like if you play Bad you play Bad and like we're going to get into the game in a minute because it's not all doom and gloom from that game like obviously losing in the spoiler alert we lost the 95th minute anybody living under a [ __ ] bridge but losing in 95th minute is never going to be good there's more into the game that we didn't like than just losing the 95th minute I think have we dominated the game and lost 9 minut oh you know there's more then we'll get some shocking decisions being made and some unlucky moments and all that kind of stuff but overall being a bit more positive in general is kind of where we want to be at all right well let's just get into it should we just get into it yeah God I want to live that moment shut up just go I think you have a little list there don't you not going to get into that in a minute but first Manchester United lost to Brighton away 21 in 95th minute cementing Brighton's Place firmly as a bogy six times honestly like literally end they dominating the first half in that game so it was kind of almost almost the opposite CU we actually did really the first well we'll get into the actual review of the game in a second actually breaking down the halves but I didn't we did not dominate that first half we we were better spriton have firmly become a bogy team like they're going around and we've beaten them once we knocked them out in EP C semi-final on penalties we beat them once when it didn't matter they've beaten us now what is it five out of six two late one was remember of that 99 minute winning penalty that they scor yeah this is the latest go we caned until we play Chelsea yeah it's just not a nice thing sh rocking out thex now normally I'm not upset with his that Brighton team that was that you know that kaedo and that team but this team with all due respect to Brighton and then I'm going to get into how they beat us in the later but they had Billy gilm Milner well back out front's getting old getting and like he's not the quickest no they did have some good the two the guys that both them play the ra get their names a minute I thought they played well part from that volleyball moment the referee thought that was perfectly okay not to be a yellow car even though it didn't matter any year but besides that moment they thought both of them played well to be fair so they had moments they played well and again Tak nothing of Ryan cuz actually they were you know were well trained I think you know they played football the way annoy which is annoying they they have like a style and theyve kind of from let players and they still have a style whereas we just can't get [ __ ] I just can't I I honestly would love to be on that training field to see what we are doing in training that is not transparent to the but at the same time like it's not it's on the players as well I think it's it's you know we always blame the manager and you know in today's episode I I some of the things he some decisions he made is [ __ ] come to those yeah there is one yeah yeah but there is some things also at the same time where I think we can't always blame him oh 100% like oh I mean I can agree with you more like like we can jump into the game or you going to do your list first like how you want to do this no no no no let's let's let's say let's put it this way what you're saying is 100% true we can't play on the managers we can't play on the manager only we can play on the player in this case though definitely more weights in the match like yeah but there is a couple of things that I will point out fine so then we can get the review of the game properly yeah here are five things we learned about the United game from right here are five things let me try out again that we learned about United from the Brighton game unlucky United now you would have noticed the game it was 1:1 and we United did score 2-1 did score to take the lead 2-1 however somehow in some mystery in some land we managed not to score an open goal and it was ruled offsite and people would say well you can't blame that first of it's in the 70th minute you never know how the game's going to go second I've been watching football since I'm five I think I've seen probably thousands of goal I have never seen a goal roll off like that I have I've never literally it's in and the man's he's definitely he played like he's a center back like and I go get into to the back of it cuz I want to keep this for the shorts B because we're going to go through each one of these points in details but definitely unlucky United to a degree in that game 100% yeah number two worst Sub in football history United looked to have been pushing for a winner and we create few half chances and we scored recently and then scored that offside goal yeah the team seemed to be sticking with Bruno at the 10 zi up front and then you got rashford was changed for gacho which made a big impact and then Dio on the right team seem to be creating chance definitely here in the counter and then out of nowhere Eric hard play the ultimate trump card by putting on Scott momy for Bruno Fernandez has to go down history is the worst substitution I've ever seen in I think is I think it's because we get into the review please don't stop the list play the game The Game's the game lab go on number three bad starters United since 2017 2018 we have never won both uh both of our first games in the Premier League now this is not necessarily mean not going to do well in the season but damn it helps to start the season well if you remember the season Arsenal will finished second the first time under aeta they've won the first like 13 games or something or or 14 exactly it helps so much to get those points early because it gets trickier as you go on and you get more games built up bad STS United continues to be to players as as the years go on T to and we' got Liverpool next and this is T Hog's third season and each of his Seasons he's lost either both or one of his first two games cannot continue obviously we can't correct that until next season that's unfortunate but we need to make sure we starting games better and season beds number four this one hurts Lake goals FC United have become Paramount almost synonymous for shipping goals late since ericon HS come in we have the team that's lost the most games late after 9th minute I mean after last year Chelsea that's and that's losing games we considered games with draws as well Bri brenford away last season from 1 in 93rd minute to 1 in the 197 for whatever it is this is it's happened I think six or seven times I think the status before that in 20 30 or 20 years campaigns whatever is twice twice we lost games in the the an go and I'm pretty sure in that statistics because I saw it was Sky Sports so it must be right number five and this is where we're going to probably open up the discussion same old United or is there progress there now we saw the same old United coming through there's moment where we create like chances this definitely towards the end of that last 15 minutes felt like a 15 minutes from last season for sure Panic stations and but there have been moments of goodness in good in this in the start of the season so is it same old United or progress you tell us in the comments below but there are there are moments so what do you think now that I've gone from a PR what do you think about that list of five I know it's a very exhausting it's a very exhausting less of five but uh maybe that's where we should start I don't know I think the I think the last yesterday the first 30 minutes look really good like there was a lot of playing out the back and sometimes I was even surprised at how well we kind of came out of it which was different I think we saw in preseason so it's good to see that you know we cuz like like last year we really preseason and Prem started and we like just preseason yeah different different team whereas now we're trying to kind of build on that which is good but then I think the thing that I've noticed again is that two things that really pissed me off is he seems to stick with the same team so like just because we beat Fulham even though we didn't look that great against Fulham he's like stuck with the same team and he's doing like Subs of Defenders which you'll never see any other top team really do in the 70th minute which is shocking because you're kind of wasting a Defender and also like that defense settled uh you know Harry that point was literally the man clearing all the all the he was probably the one of the better Defenders Corners we started clearing half clearing Corners yeah but also we've kind of gone back to this you know by kind stuck in our shells looking leggy which is only the second game we're not chasing down I think to be honest taking Mount off as well maybe contribute to that a bit oh in [ __ ] the inj I know I know let's not let's not I don't want to I almost made my list of injured FC Jesus Christ why is he joining L I don't know I don't know I think he's in apparently he's injur manum precautionary because because I read a thing about it we look decent with the price from did do but when we play them two together there's no there's no Outlet I mean of all the good play we had in the first half which there was like you said the L cup was but there was no attacks we never brighten like let's be honest like apart from that stupid mistake that we made in the first half the bright and or us didn't create anything it's really annoying because we've actually got two really quick winers uh dun is a slow Defender let's be honest yeah but no balls over the top no one did we throw a good ball always I thing I think Brighton played that offside well I think okay but just take a step back like dunk not that quick second when the walk straight offside where he could have just stopped on the halfway he would have been clean not clean through but yeah through like and then some I think that's also part of the mistakes like I think like he put 87th minute like am looked tired 10 minutes before that you got that sub like the game's already looking a bit shaky just throw on like you know like Anthony Le he works hard he runsun he helps defensively never know that man just for yeah and then plus again he's going bit between St whereas look like he kind of do drift out let's do this let's talk about what same United from before and then let's go towards the improvements for me the same United before absolute Panic stations as soon as we get pressed a bit more like you got the same core of players yeah but doesn't matter and then you go Brom off get it that's that's I don't even there's if there's a football dictionary that would be that the definition of St what happen in there so for me that one was that's its own little discussion point but where where were we were we the same as previously very few chances created in the first half we definitely didn't it wasn't you know there wasn't chance after chance I remember the only one I could really think of is Dio's kind of the lot cross with yellow um half volley there the left but like rashford's offside or we kind of go in and we don't cut back the pass like we pass across the line and it's really easy for them to clear like one situation there was like three players basically on the P sport alone yeah and there was no like I don't remember us throwing in any cross I think there may be from Corners obviously but same FOC Point that's fine but then even the second half when zi came on there was no he pulls him back he does yeah of course cuz you have to make room for his world class substitution but like I for me same old United from last season Panic stations second one for me especially second half so easy to play through Brighton cut us the shreds with simple pass again it's it's May had a game for me may had aame he running like twice as much I don't think he was running at all I know but covers Billy Gil is Billy Gilmore the guy's name is yeah the mid midfielder he just he seemed to pickpocket um Kobe and you know Kobe he's like my son like he's basically my child but I love him so much but he just I don't know if it's fatigue and I don't know if he was ready for it I just I don't think he St his authority I don't think he was he was giving the ball away a lot which put us under pressure and I and I that that Midfield especially once Bruno went off was like playing was like you're playing with SC kind was is not really anywhere the shape of the team we're missing at that point another point for me because we always seem to make stupid Subs well that's the point I'm getting to this was not same old United there are about four points that I make on same old s hug the fact obviously the one being that he hasn't grown in his hairbag which we were all hoping that we would see a full grow head hug that would be amazing amazing do but but from there's several points here let last year we we bull not bullied him but kind of were unhappy with him because it was late Subs this year doing it again it's not so much early ones but they're just [ __ ] they the the substitutions have been have been all over the place I mean for me walk me through this what is the process of taking Bruno off in SC on I don't get that one cuz like Bruno can always create a pass he runs anyone out there and t h if you can reply to this I would happy honestly I'd love to give the man opportunity like Scott mccy when he came on completed five passes he lost three Jews he had I think one shot touched the ball six times he tou about six or seven times he lost like one fi and he was he was on the field for 20 minutes yeah and he didn't I don't remember I don't think he cleared one Corner maybe maybe he did maybe against no City you know he came on he like pretty much his CLE in the corner yeah forget that I'm not going to go and SC myy because I don't but that's we're not doing this we're not we're not doing this we're being all nice fluffy and Rosy it now the my problem with him is he's 6'4 and somehow finds his way to be harder to find on the field and and the [ __ ] was M like he goes missing and on top of that fine he goes missing and your manager know this to then take Bruno off and put him on when casemiro could hardly walk at that point I think he's basically trying to say that Scot is as good as Bruno getting 30 million from his bargain so na should come and get him must be like a sales tactic that back oh oh he's proving a point he's got no players which I agree like the Midfield dep is TR the fact that hasn't come in hasn't come in like oata would have been a huge and I'm not saying we would have won the game because of agato or not but him and the DM role casir could even I would have brought I would have still brought we'll get back we'll get into the transfers in a little bit because we're kind of you know going on a bringing them in but I agree that we don't have a Midfield thing and I agree that we have no left back as well but and we've prioritized clearly Cent and we always knew that it's was going to take a few Windows to get this right like we don't FR fre is not firing at the moment as well like we need Wingers still got the old players still here is still here yeah you can't L's got broken toe sipped on a biscuit you can't sell him he's he's re why his contract out now for one year and the next year going he was so Keen to bring on Deli and then now he like put some on twice in the 70th minute pointless up that's sub in the 70th minute either start him or just play K game yeah cuz I mean look K of De against ful I I saw this is one thing that you probably love I saw Rio about this and he said basically um you know if Harry was still on the field he would have parked orders uh and he would have told him to defend the back post and we never see that second goal which for me is kind of ludicrous because he's basically saying that on the flip side basically doesn't know how to do that you I mean just a real quickly did you see the first goal did you watch what happened in the first goal straight in front zero orders to people behind him cover stood with his hands he came back across him again went in he put his hand up like always way I don't think he should have come off like I saying but I'm not saying he was not then that's one of the things again the people were saying okay 10 H is [ __ ] because he made the sub and then because of the sub there was no on the back po we can see the go like no manager is going to tell his players you know what like 90th minute attack the ball leave the back Post open can see the goal there is a phenomenal picture online and maybe we can get it up on the on our X profile on United sh when defending that last goal you could have put Superman in the team and he would stopped there with that with the positioning we had every single player was on the if you're looking from behind the goal the right watching all of them there was four people around the Crosser there was two at least Brighton players completely on the ones in the middle there's nothing to do with Personnel one came from the back post as well like nothing to do with people bucking it was everybody just switched off and completely forgot how to defend there was no no shape it was second ball again we can seeed two goals from second balls because we didn't def the worst thing is is that so it's nothing to do with the personal that one I don't think Harry would have made a difference unless he was the one that automatically walked to the back yeah because but that's like that teally Martin and that's a corner so position but the thing is the annoying thing is is that here like they say the one explanation is it's 1-1 the players really Keen to get the ball back as soon as possible to try and counter attack and get the win right but if you remember last year br exact same thing Ian 20 controls it four players rush to him he squares it was I he squares it in the middle and there's no one marking the plan he just [ __ ] worse this cuz he was like the ball Char 50 me ining we were leading you should be ke to like press with four like keep your structures this is where we kind of get to where we like the Personnel we have doesn't seem to be composed in like believing in themselves like we used to like as a team we used to like 10 20 years ago but also as like a city does or Liverpool or Arsenal for me these late goals and this is one of the points I talked about they're becoming a big problem now on top of it being an absolute heartache for us cuz watching that and then living through it every time it's just like getting stabbed directly in the heart it's it's become a systemic now it's now to the point when we go into a game winning one nil or you know just taking one yeah and it's like yeah when we watch the games we're always just like we need one more we need one more and that's not you watch an Arsenal and I hate to say is when they winning one0 it's like yeah they kind of they could be leaning half a goal now they they'll hold it out for the most part obviously they've had that wrong as well but and I don't know if it's mentality I don't know if it's Personnel I don't know if it's structurally an issue cuz he talks about control of the game but he took off the player that would control the game the most I I genuinely don't understand where how why these L gos are consistently happening and they're happening against they're not happening against City we did conceive one as well happen against brenford Brighton twice and Fulham scored a winner Old Trafford the car that's C in the sh TI is well there and with the first shot on target like there's it's just it's happening against teams you go my God you should be doing much better to control that like I don't want to sit there on a Saturday and almost cry as a grown ass man because we can't keep a c we can't control our own half or and both of the goals against Brighton came in the small penalty BS yeah that is unexcusable the thing with me is we we just keep seeing it over and over again and we talk about control and he talks about control and we don't seem to have anything changing about it so for me that would be number one my on my list of items that has to be addressed and if it means changing Personnel on the field then so be it but and we come back and we're coming back to say than I'm tired of T being reactive reactive rather than proactive we talk about you know winning team as you said earlier and not changing it because of that that's not the team that won the game the team that won the game was get xer coming on and then theck coming on From the Bench that's the team that won the game he should have started with them so we should have okay you can play Harry M fine whatever but you got to start you got to start practice not reactive you gotta be start me prac team you canot wait for things to go wrong because 90 minutes in the game is not long but this is what I said to you like look he's done like a couple of Subs relatively early which is fine Mount and the it's injuring okay fine I don't think I double check if it's then you can obviously see Ahmad is lagy like there's a few counters where he kind of like he's I don't know if it's his head or he's passing like in a combination of both like he he doesn't get definitely can play as a 10 or play with you know switching with yeah like he says 9.5 um or switching with Rasmus as well he could definely I can see them playing together and next to him but to do that you need you cannot play camiro that to running you need push the and you know what come back coming back I would have probably pushed r up front and put gach on the left because at least you right winger got hug as well their managers younger than I know I know I know he did great on the substitution but what I think they did great which is why they played so much better so much better than those throughout the whole game because there that well drilled is the fact that they can play a high line so much better D like whole team you know I kind I kind a sof for I think he's a decent's he a strong he his I'm saying he's not that quick and the fact out so exctly Wing not learning back you can still run easily that's what I'm saying the right side play are you know R out as I looked at it yesterday it was a secondary cross which basically means that our players had already kind of attacked once in the wing and then we cut it back and then the cross came in which means that naturally The Defenders would have taken a step in because they would have the momentum of and he's still offside yeah I mean how that man was off he's still offside like you if it's a secondary CL just look down the line take a step back he can still like I mean I know he scored the lucky but can we please can we can we we what if this the bright B like we're trying to get to the point of give give this a life lesson I'm actually going to put out the stats what you can you can pull out all the stats you want but Brighton played a fantastic Highline do you know Brighton should be better than us when they play out from the back they play out probably 20 me more 20 to much 10 me more for we're playing out of the back holding hands we're playing back in the back holding hands Onana and everybody that are super close they're right at the back all of them they're playing out from the back very very very very near our goal whereas Brighton play out from the back at least 10 me further forward than that which we automatically by the second phase pass that pretty much at the halfway line which is we're not we're still trying to break through over the wings very rarely do we break through the middle as well when playing out on the back it's normally could pass out to the right left or right back if you think about it it's normally all long no they're fine I mean what I'm saying is they're playing they played out from the back better cuz they're playing out from the back higher they goalkeeper I think it they grew into it they did the first half because we press and you can see that press when it work we yeah stole the ball once the game went on and we became less effective the price that's when it became but that's what I'm saying to you like they're so well drilled that they can do it for 90 minutes we did it for 45 and I get that don't put probably press him again that that doesn't become his apparent yeah I get have more depth in the team I get that but we didn't play High Line if we play a high line we can cut the field down and they they're passing out from the back drop back why because I'm why is our why is our back line so much uh so much further back it's not it can't be Maguire man like I think he's now gone this season I want to be more solid which you can kind of see from the stats for sure cuz City fars and we're still not playing as high up with the field we should and we brought a center back in specialized playing a higher line which is the L and we're not playing him you can't if you look if you set up a team in the one way and then you play 17 minutes one way you can't bring a plan of course of course that's that's why I'm saying to you like the came on really well he said one extra week of training do the the new way of like playing higher start him and just start playing that way football yeah that's why you wanted to look he's been crying out for that kind of play for two years right he's always like like I can't play the way I play a I want to play Kline and then he kind of starts getting the plays he needs like cuz mzra is more effective I think he's good Under Pressure he had know you're good but game wasn't Under Pressure um obviously like you said like the is very good on the like Martinez has always been very good on the The High Line yeah but he's not like but he now because he's because he was so Keen to stop caran because a good game against ful you can't do it to be honest with you for me I think actually Mar should help for not because you played badly but we're in survival mode high up you know more more hes were coming in height if you really wanted to Har so with the Le coming on for them yeah yeah and Harry is not terrible on the ball no he's not and he was at that point literally a magnet of every cross that came in he was pretty much the one that was play he was he literally you could have even pulled one of the wing backs and then pull play the three or or you could have pulled one of the like Kobe and then play three in the back and play the two Wingers or put play like as a makeshift cuz he's played as a wing back he hates it you mean this the world's best left back that doesn't know he's the world sorry right back then that man Anthony switch the right back you will be you will love every single buler you will be the left back CU we seem to be dropping like five oh yeah of course cuz he left left back yeah so he plus he could actually get more game time you will be you are the you are the greatest left back that that just doesn't know it yet they just doesn't know it yet you have it and those knee looks you do after a good tackle they will be amazing the crowd will go absolutely ballistic for them he could be like the opposite of G he could be the opposite of G but he would be amazing for it right should we talk about it that moment no not one second can we talk about that goal well that wasn't the goal I don't know I everybody back home that lives under a rock that's watching two or three people everybody musts to seen it by now but in the 70th minute I think it was in the 70th very good play very good play right side right side over finally work on the then Dio comes to him Cuts him Bruno on the overlap going down the right side great Square Bruno squ across the goal and then he's clearly not aiming for xerx yeah but he slides in trying get theall but he slides in and he's miles away he continu sliding he's doing on purpose so like he's naturally sliding get to the back post on an empty go hits in I don't know why he's hitting it to the far post if he wants toore probably hit Z on the knee pretty much on the line goes in oh i' like we said earlier in the show I've been watching football both watching football 4 since we were God knows how old we've watched thousands of go whether it be live whether it be on YouTube whether it be whatever it may be just gos just gos even in playing football yeah I have never never seen a goal ruled out like that ever maybe sometimes you shoot and you hit your player yet but on the on the go like 100% a goal the funny thing is is that if you look at it the replay like the only reason he hits him is cu start getting back up because I himself so his KNE comes up basically just Contin slight into the there think the ball probably goes over him anyway it almost made my L to five but I was going to call him from hero to zero because that man and he's definitely cost we would United not won that game we definitely would have lost and the field open could have could there would have been definitely you don't know you never know you can't but I don't think we lose that game with that goal no and I think has may drop as well I don't think so I think okay we more R but we definitely there would have been more chances on the counter attack that we would have there would definitely been a moment one of our four is could to run away you never know but that moment definitely impacted the game whatever you say and it came in a moment when United would one we only just equalized about I think it was five 60 something minutes 60 Minute yeah like 10 minutes early yeah so we had it was during a great spell of 10 minutes you never know that great spell Brun doesn't go off you know in that spell we had a few more the other way the run away or something like that so it's just it was a Monumental moment and then it was compounded by that substitution afterwards which basically killed the game for us at that point you know if you look at the the the the graph
