body of andreen McDonald her mother now left taking care of her granddaughter inside the home where investigators say they found blood Devin Clark spoke to andrene's mother this afternoon who says she's coming to terms with the fact her daughter is not alive Devin well that's right Steve by the way the Bear County Sheriff's Office set up a mobile command center here at the shops at Overlook parking lot we're actually not too far at all from andreen McDonald's home this is where investigators coordinated search efforts all day and as of right now the search has been called off for the night but as you mentioned we did speak to McDonald's mother who says she's not holding out much hope I'm thinking that she's gone like yesterday I wasn't thinking like that but right now I'm thinking of her worker came over here and she went in the bathroom and she saw Blood on the bathroom switch the business owner's husband Andre McDonald was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence this after conflicting statements about his wife's whereabouts investigators say they found a pile of newly burnt items in the couple's backyard and tools like a shovel an Axe and plastic bags in their car aircraft left they hadn't find the body but if they find the body she's not going to be alive a mother who had hoped for the best now bracing for the worst news about her missing daughter and how she will relay that message to her granddaughter who still waiting for mommy to come home we all love her and miss her Andre McDonald is being held on a $2 million bail and again for the night of searching her remains were found nearly 6 miles from the couple's home her husband Andre McDonald was arrested and charged with andrean's murder he pleaded not guilty to the charges Andre testified that on the night of February 28th 2019 he had an argument with his wife and the fight turned physical he says that he tripped her and kicked her twice when she fell in the bathroom he further explained that the argument was caused by andrean's Act of opening a new company without his knowledge CCTV footage shows Andre at stores purchasing several weapons believed to have been used to kill andreen before disposing of her body he is also seen on another camera purchasing a handgun believed to have been meant to harm himself the jury found Andre McDonald not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter he was sentenced to 20 years in prison We Begin this evening with a four-month long search for andreen McDonald now over andrene's husband Andre McDonald arrested at his home this morning on a murder charge the Bear County Sheriff's Office confirms the remains found on spect Road just about six miles from the McDonald's home are those of andreen our Patty Santos joins us now live she's got the new details that were released in this case today Patty yeah the sheriff says it was the remains of Andrew McDonald that they needed it was a missing piece that they needed to seal this case and make the arrest today now her body positively identified using dental records last night appeared to have been covered with wood and Bones near a dead C out and set on fire on spec Road this according to an arrest affidavit tonight we're also learning about the additional evidence found that the home including blood belonging to Andre McDonald found in various parts of the home Andre McDonald's pants and on a hammer he allegedly discarded Andre McDonald was charged with uh previously with tampering with evidence he was on a house arrest the sheriff tells us how his arrests went down just a few hours ago we were a able to uh place a call and have him step out of the house where one of our takedown teams uh took him down we had had surveillance on the house for some time and so we were confident that he was there it was just a matter of was he going to come out willingly and he did and we were there as Andre was being taken to be booked on a murder charge his face stoic he appeared to be tired but didn't say anything to reporters now we can tell you tonight that the daughter that the couple shared is in the custody of family and according to court documents it appears that she may have been a witness to what happened to her mother we are going to have more on the arrests coming up tonight on the night Beach we'll send it back to you thank you Patty We are place where this incident is alleged to have happened correct yes guys it all started at this location when Andre McDonald's friends uh they were concerned that Andre hadn't been to the gym or to the business she owned like she would have in her normal routine now the timeline of events dates all the way back to February the 28th when andreen was last seen near her home her friends reported her missing the next day after they found the details provided by Andre's husband to be suspicious on March 2nd after bcso got involved investigators say Andre purchased cans of gas heavy duty trash bags work gloves a portable burn barrel a shovel and an axe all of which items that led deputies to believe that he was trying to get rid of a body he was ultimately detained for mental health concerns after deputies followed him to a gun shop and witnessed him purchasing a firearm and significant amount of ammunition fast forward to March 3rd he was officially arrested and charged with tampering with evidence for trying to destroy a receipt for the items bought but was since released after his bond was reduced now today he was arrested again in on a murder charge we stopped by to see how the family was doing and one of Andre's closest friends who opened the door spoke to us and told us that yeah it's just been a very emotional day for all of them especially Andre's mother shocked saddened I'm so grateful that Andrea is not free again it has been several months since any closer has been brought to the family and the hundreds of volunteers who have been searching for a woman they say had a beautiful soul and was the glue that held everyone she met together such a beautiful lady now their daughter is left without any parents because of that Po's May andreen rip it looked like he had an
