from New Zealand the Olympic champion Lydia Co a good segue Swagger to our most recent member inducted uh she will be into the Hall of Fame has the points for it after silver bronze and gold we will never see the likes of it again what happened two weeks ago in Paris not sure we'll ever see the likes of Lydia Co again AA no she really is she's not even once in a lifetime type of player she is a a literal oneoff kind gracious graceful caring generous powerful taking it uh little little little down the left side there no Ian Baker Finch mind you w yeah good job there's 100 yards wide I think it'll work not quite she'll knock that down as a fairway hit technically she can lyia Co up and running here on day three from the green to where Lydia Co is she might have had to have waited for some traffic down 18 yeah she's got a hybrid in her hand wind's going to be pretty strong off her left side generates tons of power very graceful she's on the putting green which is always a dangerous sign always fun for the caddies as well go do you have a number from over the English woman she has adapted and here is the newest member of the LPGA Hall of Fame Lydia Co at the second just about avoiding those Fairway bunkers there on the left does that very nicely what a all right every game is either done or having begun Lydia Co at the second for a birdie go back over to the third and Lydia Co Golf Course playing under par right now that's 71.5 first day it was 74.9 6 yesterday it was 73.2 so it's almost 2 shots easier than yesterday and over three shots easier than day one the early starters have uh taken advantage coast of Scotland take you to the third Lydia Co for birdie the greens to the fourth after three pars to open round three Lydia Cole yeah this outward nine here for Lydia winds off the left going to accentuate her typical left to right ball flight that we've seen so much over the past couple of months we'll be able to get to the Green in three and it is a par five so not total disaster there could have been a lot worse for Charlie now Lydia Co for a birdie Lydia here with her husband who has not been to Scotland before he's a keen golfer he loves his golf he's been out playing linkx courses and she's just really excited to be here with him and share the experience of coming to St Andrews for the first time how would you say he went out and watched her 18 holes and then and then went out and played 18 of his own the other day and played d g Shin is looking like she's in great position here's Lydia at the sixth save said the seventh aggressive drive here from Lydia Co taking it down to Shell bunker yeah but a good good second shot and that will leave Lydia a really good chance for her first birdie of the day she had six pars to start this third round I must say and look at how narrow that is you can't see any of that from the tea either wow this is Lydia Co on the green on the same hole we saw that lovely approach from Lydia she was close to the bunker the shell bunker but was short of it so it's a good three for Co her first bird of the day she gets to four under to par four back of the lead it's part of the charm or at least it's helpful if you see it that way yeah Lydia played here back in 2013 was tied for the low Amer honors with Georgia Hall picked up birdie at seven look like she got through that one really nice nicely good swing there favorable kick off the back side of that bunker eight is playing a little bit under par today so hard to keep it anywhere well if that was the shot she was trying to play take it off take yardage off the driver there that was impressive let's go to eight and Lydia for a second straight birdie this is kind of how she won the gold medal in Paris just creeping up the leaderboard the first couple of days but that finish Lydia to birdie at nine that's where a lot of players have been driving it on the ninth the team moved forward right back the other way at the 10th Lydia Co her second location all the way in the back today on 10 and here look at the wind take that shot I mean you have to play for it when you have as much movement in your ball as Lydia does typically you know the wind's going to eat it up you can't fight a win all right after dropping a shot liia co on the T at 12 T it really low there scoring average has gone up as a little bit more than yesterday up on the green at the 12th Lydia Co for a bounceback birdie haven't been many birdies here today only six so far today she says yeah I've got a little bit of a LoveHate relationship with the game she's not the only one said some days I kiss my putter can't believe how fortunate I am maybe no kiss there anybody who's played this game especially at the competitive professional level this is Lydia Co coming off that gold medal winning performance in Paris entering the LPGA Hall of Fame with that Victory it's a points based system for the lpga's Hall of Fame and she gained enough points with the gold medal and that is a really good shot from Lydia Co with a chance to get it to four under par and into the top five here let good just about you can add one shot to your score if you find one so that really nice approach from Lydia CO as this for a birdie to get to that four under number I mentioned that cold metal is really quite amazing even to the point where Lydia said it almost still feels too good to be true and kind of been waiting for that final victory iory that would get her into the Hall of Fame All Season would it happened early would it happened in Canada where she got her first victories on the LPGA Tour even as an Amer but no seems so poetic at the Olympics on full display earlier this year at the 14th Lydia Co to get a little closer to the lead she's just hanging tough kind of Treading Water a little bit but staying just close enough where she's still part of the conversation third at 17 for Jenny Shin playing it along the ground there oh what a shot there from Jenny Shin that'll be a pass save and she will remain bogey free for the day an alltime LPGA record struggle through the summer finding your form this week 15 L Co still has a chance to win this championship this is a birdie putt at the 15th I think back to when I was talking to Paul cormack or caddy at the Olympics he said oh we're right where we want to be we're in a good position and that was about the halfway points they were a few back at that NE view of that g Shin shot into 17 today and that's the shot of the week so far isn't it Lydia Co at the 16th get a little bit closer a Here Comes Lydia youngest player in LPGA history to win an event posting 67 up to the 17th we go I've seen this a few times from Lydia coing it up on the right side going to try and hit it left to right yeah she trusts that shot and there it is from Sweden 17 second shot for liia COD choking way up on this Tom trying to cut it I think it's going to be hard for her to get it close to that whole location yeah and just way left here but that's not a bad leave it's actually a pretty good Miss is running All Slopes in that way Lydia she did get up and down from that back of the from the back of the green so she can't reach the 18th but she can certainly give herself a nice angle she might favor just left half oh hit the path she might get on now no still come up short but that if it Go the further left it goes the easier it becomes I think y that's nice I guess there just get the fun Ed just taking it all in down [Applause] there lyia code just three shots off the lead a chance to get a little closer second at 18 her best part of her game her wedge play these little finesse control shots that one a little flat footed which is kind of unusual for her didn't want to mess with a valley of sin no and this is the birdie putt for Lydia at 18 just has a little bit of break to her right down the hill still makeable but a good day for Lydia she positions herself for a chance to continue this fairy tale season won the season opener to get within one point of the LPGA Hall of Fame and then finished it off with the gold medal performance just a couple of weeks ago in Paris she just seems in really good spirits obviously maybe maybe a little weight off of her shoulders having accomplished that goal of the
