LSU Football 2024 Predictions

Intro yo what's going on tiger fans welcome back to between the number Sports podcast and show as always I'm your host uh today we're gonna be diving in talking about them Tigers I'm excited I'm excited the 2024 LSU football season is upon us uh it's day two of uh practice for LSU right pretty much the season has started right um in season has started they started their practice right they're prepping no doubt for for um USC uh in September in Las Vegas so I'm excited I'm excited that the purple and gold is back on the road that kind of rhyme um they just bat and Rouge but you know you know they're gearing up so this gonna do um a a predictor right what I what what I predict for for LSU and just talk about you know some of the things that's happening around the program from what I've been reading and viewing with my own two eyes just my opinion so I don't want to um you know I don't want to piss anyone off but go let's go ahead and start so you know as always we got to start with the with the big with the big Brian Kelly dog right Brian Kelly Brian Kelly is the coach uh obviously of of LSU right and we all know what LSU did last year in 2023 um LSU showed real grit uh we finished strong right uh with a solid record and a thrilling bow game Victory I was had that bll game in uh Tampa Florida uh got to see some breakout performances from some key players uh and you know last season was a memorable season right we had jayton Daniels reua hosman we had two um first round draft picks at um wide receiver and so last year was definitely a memorable season for me I'm always going to remember uh last season but hey it's time to set the stage for this upcoming season so um you the offense right we gonna start off with the offense first the offense LSU's Offense Preview offense has always been to me explosive under Brian Kelly uh and I don't think uh this season in 2024 would be any different now we all know that Mike Den Brock left LSU to go back to Notre Dame but that's all good because we got OC um Joe slong right he's the quarterback coach and he's the offensive coordinator and he's going to be leading way and calling the plays so I still expect big things now again last year we finished number one in the nation in total offense uh and you know we had over 7,000 yards combined and we might not hit that in 2024 season but we won't need that because guess what I have Fai and you should too that the defense is gonna be improved but let's not Overlook Garrett Nussmeier our bar Garrett NM right so Garrett NM you know he's gonna he's stepping in as the start quarterback right but you know Garett NM is a vet and before I go any deeper into Garett NM I just want to say if there's anybody that's not that's on the fense about Garrett NM do me a favor go on YouTube and go look at the highlights of Garrett NM um against Georgia you know what I you know what don't go on YouTube I got the highlights for you right here let's show the highlights right that's Garrett nire that's the highlights right there right so you can see it I'm don't to let this play in the background uh while I continue uh you know this video anyways let that play So anyways that's gar NM look at some of those throws right but anyways gar NM he's gonna step in as the new starting quarterback you know he's a veteran now he's been in this uh you know he's been at LSU for a while he's been in the system for a while and he's ready to handle the attack um if you want to know more about Garrett NM why I believe so much in Garrett NM go back and look on my uh you know at some of my videos and you'll see that I did a video explaining why I think Gary NM is going to be great for LSU but okay moving on also we got some guys uh we got a lot we got a very good quarterback room right you know we got uh AJ Swan Swan uh he threw 22 touchdowns uh over the last two years uh adding depth to that quarterback room AJ swine sorry I jacked his name up right we got Ricky Collins uh we got some we got some really good guys uh in that quarterback room not worried about the quarterback room at all uh I'm 100% on the nus bus um you know I'm excited to see nus beat a full-time starter I think you get where I'm coming but you know we're gonna be replacing some Elite wide receivers Wide Receivers right that's always a challenge but like I said in Louisiana we grow Elite wide receivers and talent uh as we all know the league neighbors is now a New York Giant um Brian Thomas Jr is with the Jacksonville Jaguars and of course that's gonna put pressure on Karen Ley to step up after finishing third on the team with 558 yards and seven scores Mason T is a reliable short range passing tight end you know I'm excited to see Chris Hilton who is wearing number three this year Chris Hilton is a Bonafide deep threat and then how can we not and we can't forget about Liberty transfer TJ Daniels right he brings big play ability uh when he was at Liberty he averaged over 19 uh yards per catch with 10 scores last season uh you got Zion Thomas coming in from uh Mississippi State right we still got Aaron Anderson on the offense right so LSU is gonna be just fine uh at Wide Receiver right and I think th all of those guys I just named can definitely um be productive uh might not be on the same level as Brian Thomas Jr arm Malik neighbors but I think those guys will be able to cover out their own legacy at LSU so I'm excited to see those guys play on the ground right of course we're Running backs gonna be missing Jon Daniels and Logan Diggs who combin for over 2,000 yards last season uh but you know Josh Williams Caleb Jackson John Emory uh star recruit Kate Kaden Durham Trey H's gonna probably be back off his suspension right they should keep things moving behind our Elite offensive line O Line speaking of elite offensive line right real Campbell um I'm G to say real Campbell will be the top offensive tackle in next year NFL draft y'all can beat me up about it if you want to I believe strongly in will camell I think we have the best offensive line in all this college football uh Emme Jones is also GNA be another top prospect we're gonna have two tackles that go in the first round next year which is crazy because we had two wide receivers go in the first round and so we're gonna have two offensive tackles go next year and you know our interior is very talented too you got DJ Chester NE you know he's gonna need the shine at Center but I I think he got the job I think he I think he gonna you I think he gonna make it happen you know what I mean and we got miles frer who's bringing uh some Next Level upside at guard so again LSU to me has the best offensive line um in college football but hey I might be um a little bit of a homer but hey I'mma roll with it I'mma roll with it all right so let's talk about the defense so a few Defense Preview days ago Brian Kelly had a meeting uh with some boosters uh in Baton Rouge and you know every he you know he said that every time people see them they want to ask about the defense they want to ask about the defense we all want to know about the defense because we saw what the defense did last year but we gotta have we got we gotta have short-term memory it's a new season a clean plate right so defensively the room had the room there's room for improvements we all know that defensively especially against the run I was looking up this that and I didn't even realize this that uh well we know LSU has to get better at the pass but I didn't even know that we was bad at the run right so over the last um we've given up over 2,000 yards rush yards uh each of the last two seasons which it's pretty bad for this program right it's pretty much unheard of but who do we got we all know we got our new defensive coordinator Blake Baker right we brought him in from Missouri if y'all didn't know which most of y'all did know and I expect him to make a big impact right now in Missouri um his defense allowed 3.8 yards per carry uh and gave up only eight rushian scores right so again in a previous video I said that I think that LSU has better Talent uh on this defense that uh than what Blake breaker had at Missouri so that just goes to show you right you put an elite mind like Blake Baker with the talent that we got on defense and I think we will be just fine now defensive line uh has a lot of question marks that's not a lot of depth at defensive line for LSU but our defensive line is massive uh we got um I'm probably gonna jack up his name but Jacobian Jacobian gillery right I always Jack of players names I'm sorry I'm sorry uh we got Jill and Lee both over 300 pounds we got Savon Jones he's 66 280 pounds anchoring I mean he's a 200 sorry he's a 66 280 pound in he's anchoring the front right we got uh Pez from um Wisconsin uh and we got a couple other guys uh you know that's going to be you know in the mix got we got out the transfer portal as as well as some some uh some salty seniors that's been around for a little while at linebacker uh that's where we shine at right that's going to be a strength anytime you got a player like uh Harold Perkins right Harold Perkins is one of the nation's most elite pass rushers yeah you heard me say that I think he's one of the nation's most elite pass rushers we got Greg Penn uh who was second on the team last year with 89 stops um and in the secondary right again it's a place it's a spot that's going to have some people concerned but uh you know I think the secondary is going to bounce back um it was the second worst pass defense in all of the SEC last year uh we got um Jayvon Tovar back right he was suspended but he's back um major Burns is gonna be you know one of the leaders on that on that def in that defensive secondary so uh as well as Sage Ry major Burns is probably gonna be playing a star position which is unique a unique position that Blake Baker uh implements in his defenses right uh major Burns led the team with 93 stops um and and we got a new addition right we got Jaden Gilbert safety from Texas A&M uh and so he's gonna Elevate our play in the secondary uh freshman PJ wooden he's expected to make impacts right he's his name was talked about a lot in the spring right and so I expect uh PJ Woodly to you know to come in early in the season and make some plays for LSU uh hopefully he's the next TI Matthew I'm not saying he is I'm just saying hopefully right so hopefully he is right um and so yeah I'm excited about that uh as well as you know you still got guys like as Ashton stamps that's still a dog in the secondary right and so uh I think LSU is gonna be greatly improved in the secondary with Blake Baker leading away and also the goather himself Cory Raymond right uh and so let's pull up LSU schedule right the schedule right 2024 Schedule Preview now this is the part that gets kind of tough because I'm going to be giving my prediction on what on What games LSU is probably going to win and what they're going to lose uh and so I'm probably gonna rule some feathers but let's go so let's preview the 2024 schedule right so obviously LSU got some tough matchups ahead right uh first one out the gate is USC in Las Vegas that's going to be a tough matchup Lincoln R is probably hearing all of the crap people are saying by him um in offseason right and then we got home games that's going to be battles against Alabama Oklahoma o Miss uh which are going to be critical for our playoff aspirations on the road we got challenges against Texas A&M Florida South Carolina Arkansas uh but look there's no there's no Georgia on this schedule which is a bright spot we ain't got no Texas we ain't got no Tennessee or we ain't got Missouri so this you know our pet is a lot more manageable but listen make no have no doubts about it right games those you know the games against uh Oklahoma and Old Miss and uh Texas A&M and Alabama are going to be tough games right so we don't have Georgia we don't have Tennessee we don't have uh Texas but we still got some dogs on this schedule right atas you got a pretty pretty tough schedule in my uh opinion uh so what do I predict right well without Final Prediction jayton Daniels the offense may not be as devastating as it was was last year but we will still be highly effective uh especially behind our great offensive line uh the defense has too many talented players to continue to struggle as it has uh every game uh on this schedule is winable for LSU without a doubt uh we're won nine straight we're won uh nine regular season games in each of the last two seasons ultimately finishing with Bowl wins for 10 wins right so I think the as the limit in year three um to get into the expanded playoffs we will likely have to get 10 wins uh with three out to four um November games at home the opportunity is there for LSU to win 10 plus games um you know Vegas has LSU at 9.5 wins and I'm gonna say LSU is gonna win 11 games that's what I'm G say I'm G say LSU is gonna win 11 games I like the games versus Nicholls South Alabama obviously USC and Vanderbilt of course the 50-50 games are going to be Alabama Arkansas uh at Florida Oklahoma at South Carolina at Texas A&M Texas A&M is a Thor in outside and of course we play really a really big match up in USC but I'm gonna say LSU is gonna win uh I'm gonna say LSU is gonna win 11 games that's what I'm GNA say I'm gonna say we're gonna go we G go 11 and one we're gonna go 11 and one um yeah I we gonna go 11 and one and the crazy part about it is so all right we gon we gonna beat we gonna beat USC we're gonna beat uh Nicholls we're gonna beat um we're gonna beat South Carolina we're gonna beat UFC we're gonna beat uh uh South Alabama uh we g i i i i don't know man I the Old Miss game is what is what is a tossup I'm gonna say we're gonna beat Old Miss we're gonna beat uh Arkansas we probably gonna lose to Texas A&M Texas A&M I just feel like they're a thorn in LSU side that game at first LSU was dominating um you know was dominating the the the Rivalry but over the last couple of years uh Texas nmca have gotten our number uh they got a new head coach still got a good defense I'm G say we're gonna take the Texas A&M we're gonna beat Alabama we're gonna beat Florida we're gonna beat Vanderbilt Oklahoma and there you go right that's that's where you go that's it's gonna be our one loss at Texas A&M yeah I'm I'm G stick to that I'm G stick to that our one loss is gonna be at Texas A&M um so yeah that's a wrap
