S14 Marquee Matchup: Atlanta Utd vs LA Galaxy | 7/1/20

super league heavyweights always fighting for those Super Cup places especially as we get to the end of the pointy end of the season it is Atlanta United it is LA Galaxy two teams that have I think to some people shown up a little bit out of nowhere obviously Atlanta having a much better run they started the night in third place with Galaxy down in fifth or six I believe they're still hanging out in now I'm joined as always to jail the atom how are you done twitch chat I'm back PreMatch feeling good you know how we doing tonight Scott how you feeling right now it's absolute scenes anyway this Atlanta United galaxy match should be a very good one I think it's the first time in a while that we've had two teams inside the top five on the marquee matchup and I don't know about you but I'm definitely looking forward to it I haven't been here like a week or so I don't know the last time I was what the last game was yeah at Lainie night in LA Galaxy two teams battling out trying to catch up to those orlando and young boys so you know ground was good also sneaking up in that third place butter when they were floating around you know sixth seventh place but fought upset their play spot so 4 vs. 5 it's gonna be a great matchup to watch her tonight it should be a good one indeed it was I know out front 62 points to their name with 28 games played so only tend to go for the current league leaders but they do have young boys behind them with having played four or less games 57 points so they're definitely in striking range we can really put themselves within distance of each other but these two teams Eleni night in LA Galaxy buying points separating the two a galaxy wouldn't here Adam and they are really that conversation of getting up into the third and second as well should obviously barring those games in hand that young boys has they really could shape up to be a very interesting not just title run to the end but Super Cup runs to the end have you know super lose a little messed up right now for you anyone goes and looks at the table right now you can go you know pro clubs ation not really go public calm if any wants to look at the table for themselves but I mean we have teams on 24 games played and we have teams on 28 games played so having that board game already call it for game difference Lineups there is situations lot of points to be made up here there are plenty of points to go around but without further ado let's get into this Italy United lineup Khan getting the start in net timba Varick and Logan make up the back three and a three five two with Neymar 20 foreign go Vols making his PC and return they are the defensive midfield duo Bobo and lettuce who manages his sign from the right midfield position with Sergio down the middle of Jumanji and Manny are the strikers and this is a a tight-knit group that is really really began to flex their muscle in PCN and look to continue to do so here I was gonna be a solid lineup you know the you guys are usually playing pretty late at night at least I know I've gotten some couple games with them a little while back so it's gonna be you know I want to give Big Shot us to the man Jumanji going up top lettuce getting this team together you know you know getting ready to go Neymar 2014 child piecing that DM spot and then Logan obviously that Senator Batgirl is gonna be an awesome awesome centre back for them I think oh well can you hear me coming in nice and come in come in hot baby I'm having years away don't worry just turn me up on discordant we'll get you squared away baby but you know trying to get these games into the game of soon as possible squatter give us that LA lineup so the galaxy lineup looks like so a 3-5-2 as well leaker getting the start in line up that definitely out of the gates very defensive but they've grown into their attacking boots as the season has progressed yeah progressively figuring out as the season goes you know any you are about ready to go here Adam how do you think this one's gonna go tonight gonna be a close match of close matchup for sure but I think I managed it to the Atlanta boys I'll give it to the Atlanta boy is a cool 2-1 it's gonna be pretty hard to vote against that LA team getting at least one goal here but I mean never know with these top teams they could be very defensive or it can be a goal fest will dare I even ask um know predictably I'm gonna go for a tie her her her there we go easy I mean that's just how it always works this is how it always works man I won't for a woman won even yesterday when we were talking about this matchup one one man I just think both these teams have released all defense and both are gonna try to protect a lead and one of the teams is gonna surrender the lead and that's it so that's my case wanted uninvested rendered the hosting privileges because they could not can the game so hopefully can get you guys into the game as soon as possible you think prediction now you have a lot of time you didn't go into immense detail well I would say that because it is the marquee matchup it would probably be nil nil but I don't have things you know how things go tonight I think I think I'm finally gonna have to agree with you Adam to one seems pretty reasonable to Atlanta seems pretty reasonable in this scenario I don't think all the quality of defense that noxee have I think a lot of times its improved you might want to say by the amount of numbers they can sometimes have behind the ball but their transition game is really what could potentially hurt Atlanta if galaxy is gonna win this game I think it's probably gonna be on the counter-attack I don't think they're gonna be able to have sustained pressure on this Atlanta team I know this is gonna be my first time seeing these teams in awhile since I think we faced them early on at least with the Wolves team you know do the first go-round of the season so the first time seeing them go ahead at least with each other so a good matchup to watch hopefully they can get in here soon enough yeah I mean it should be really good Logan I just get the face I didn't even get a shout out from looking that because no one likes cata you heard of here Hurst to chat Noah likes it firm I mean shout out boy cool into what up cool you know air cool and taking off but it does look like we have a bit of time to kill I thought he was just gonna keep keep writing my name on there but he put a smiley face instead um right so as things stand wolves have actually jumped out of a a little bit of a relegation scrambled just put Spurs down into the relegation zone we'd like to see how well that and you vent to still holding that seventh place votes talk about Benfica for a second because not too long ago they were down in 13th and now they're back up in the 8th place that that whole range for about seven through we'll call it thirteenth separated by six points so Adam I think that's gonna be very very fluid section of the table yeah try for the last ten games yeah with teams that have only played 25 to 28 game you know there's a lot of points there like we were saying grabs Benfica you know one of those teams never cut him out at least yeah we've said before in past seasons when I kind of got off to the weird slow start at the beginning and they just soared back and just won every single game without like fail and they win the title but uh this season probably not gonna be a title season for them but very very recently could get into that Super Cup spot especially after the surgeons that they're having right now and it does look like we're trying to connect once more we'll see exactly how that goes a a notable other matchup that didn't take place young boys in Orlando didn't square off and that one ended 1-1 so everything holding daddy at the top two of the table so as things stand that could potentially open things up especially for the likes of you know Real Madrid to to begin sneaking their way into that title conversation now in a United with a win here would pull them within a point of Real Madrid so really important games now being played on the marquee matchup but it looks like we're in good shape here as far as those 12 points that young boys do have to make up in those four games can be pretty scary for those orlando boys they're hoping for some drop points let's say but here we go Atlanta LA into the game we go and it does look like oh boy somebody didn't turn on the gamertags and we have player names instead so we are going to do hey try absolutely everything we can and this ball played over the tops gonna go first time across and that is an early goal not even two minutes into the match man that lady united ahead one two no did he hear us that is fantastic Logan you're an absolute lab if you could put the the scoreboard on as well thank you and it's fantastic oh here it is one nil Atlanta already trying to feast off of this la défense but it's stepped into by somebody there and that's definitely mob on the the far side and that's a hard name to missed coming back in the middle this la team already their defense has been broken they're gonna have to show a little bit of firepower going forward here and they might try and find it through here Bobo stepping in the way of that one that's pretty easy name to read and now Atlanta United with pace coming the other direction that's one looking to get played in the mill popular to scoop it away fouled in the process and galaxies have it all to do here under 10 minutes in allowed an early go played into the middle stepped into and mob trying to win that one back he does so indeed but loses it to the man that he lost it to initially i some played down the far wing can this get sent in in the middle mob is gonna roll it one way send it the other into capo what can capo do he passes it right to voles and and will be simply clearly adamant it seems like galaxy haves the majority to possession here early on but don't really be able to seem to be able to do anything with it I mean we're only you know 14 15 minutes in it's not gonna be too scary situation obviously to go one goal down pretty early on there but uh chalk that up to maybe just falling asleep not sure the game was going you know connection something like that but I mean galaxy is pretty strong offensively for a squad so I want to be surprising and gonna go back here trying to do so over the top and that was a great ball headed away and Logan is there to scoop it away Jumanji trying to get to that one pug but able failed in the process and that lana united i have possession once more again we can't really see player names here's the stream legs ever pursue slightly in this one let me get played over the top looking for someone who was making the run there and it wasn't anybody really in the same vicinity as the goalkeeper came out and picked that one up and that's a great boot from a maker from the LA galaxy net can they potentially convert at the other end logan there to just stand up the attacker and not allow anything through bobo trying to wrestle his way out of the corner actually concedes a throat the other direction so galaxy had a really having looks like they're trying to get the attack going but it's hard to break down this defensive midfield ya know breaking down would hold that thought because this one nearly got played into the middle yeah now they're trying to trying to feed through capo trying to find you know Kiwi or what can I think of the other strikers name for LA but they're trying to get something going get a shot on target against Khan but you know right now it's kind of a struggle but you know a lot of game to be played and that one is gonna be sent away and can't really make any sort of counter out of that and this one sent to the other side of the pitch back to Prague burn out into Catholics trying to flick it over the top it does get [ __ ] over the top and Khan is there to make a fantastic say he's just coming off his line ever so slightly that other strikers Kiwi by the way yes seven sqe I'm pretty sure we have their second corner of this competition and Capo had it played short to him the header is just over the bar the header is galaxy's best opportunity so far shocker the head room people 20 is gonna be a missed shot you hate to see it well I don't know about you but the stream is lagging ever so slightly this one's played over the top Eleni United might be in again they've only had two shots make that the third shot its tipped onto the crossbar and headed behind by Hernandez Atlanta United even though they haven't had much of the ball are knocking on the door once more not even 30 minutes into this one as some play to the front post trying to be played on the floor and cleared away can't really tell it's happening poke but on the ball and the stream is just stuttering and stuttering along so if it is stuttering on your end not ideal at the end of the day is it I found I'm okay right now that is fantastic news that one's taken away Laney United let that Swift counter-attack we've seen already plenty of times this game and Adam I think it was galaxy that we thought would probably be on the counter-attack foremost this one is cantilena united make a chance not really consent to lay ahead of my sight I definitely think that we saw more attacking and that five minutes ban from Italy United than we did for probably the other five minutes that they weren't scoring yeah no they know right now with that early goal you kind of get set into a mindset I would say you know just chillin got a goal up don't really have to go for another one at this situation right now but you know some teams would counteract that just try to say it's put as many as possible but right now Elena doing a good job on the possession trying to get a very good attack going trying to work their way down the near side is cop those stepping into that one the skank the attacking midfielder coming all the way down to that left back position looks like Logan it's gonna be the lone man that gets it headed away from them and not really cleared away Eleni night you're gonna have the benefit of that turnovers see a little bit of a mix-up there you come so you won't as off-site Jumanji can't quite get it past the retreating midfield of galaxy here they come once more down the far side it doesn't look like Senator Bakk sees a massive senator Bakk is gonna get to it and try and clear it away it doesn't really work out mob can't getting his feet to that it's cleared away once more you begin to sense atom that galaxies are starting to work their way more into this one as I say that they're working their way down the near science count came out of his goal it's typing all over the place but cleared away by Atlanta United two minutes to be added on to the end of this first half how much longer can Atlanta United hold on to this because it doesn't seem like a bit of one-way traffic at the moment just as I say that they're starting to decompress can it be Elena United then has the last laugh of the first half is this we're gonna be played out of bounds to end the first half Adam that was definitely one of the more back and forth passes I think we've seen on the marquee matchup and quite sometime early start but as you can see from the stats there if we'll start it on the screen 57% possession for LA Galaxy even being a goal down three shots one on target sorry - on target you know very unlucky to not get them Khan with a very huge save I think that was the one that I remember the first shot right it was a very solid shot Concannon pretty clutch there but LA absolutely looking - trying to get the goal and equalizer here I really hate conceding that early but now you've got 45 minutes to try to figure it out 45 minutes they will have in order to try to work their way back into this game and for Atlanta United these three points here now a vo so crucial as First Half it would for Galaxy as well because it would insert them right back into any sort of title conversations but even more so for Atlanta Galaxy kicking things off here Bob on this near side just trying to find a pass and does so now into Kapo into Paul but acted upon and now can he find a ball through he does find one shakes one defender trying to get it past a second that one cleared oh wait mom taking away buying the Atlanta Defender and it's actually cleared up the line Jumanji had it for a second but ended up losing it in the end but it receives the ball once more Jumanji can't quite get that one passed he's just getting stood up every single time isn't he Adam when hold that thought this one might be played across here is it's played behind the attacker actually beginning to create those clear-cut chances Elena trying to get something going and see right here striker trying to hold up to play finds a great ball to the winger inside ends up going to really nobody in the end and now galaxy might be through here over the top who is this no Khan with a great save to come off his line way off his line and make the saving protect protects that one goal lead galaxies rushing forward once more down the far side little stop a little go and that's Khan once more and it might be on doing is it's headed towards go cleared off the line Atlanta United defending for their lives here to preserve that one goal Lee but now have Galaxy committed maybe just too many numbers forward no they haven't that ones most definitely taken away get a couch check real quick try to count to 5 for me real quick they had about seven people in retreat from their attack and that giveaway might present itself to Elaine I will just simply be booted away by the galaxy defender Elena United have a bit of attacking to do if they really want to take hold of this game and make it a little more convincing I think Adam that it really is ya know right now Atlanta is trying to get that second goal which may or may not be a dagger because la right now is looking like they should have at least maybe two or three goals this game and they're just not being able to convert in front of net looking there to put a few moves on the attacker and find his way out of play in con who has had a fantastic night in net for Atlanta booting that one long and it only goes to the galaxy defender and that one is a great challenge it's wave play on your come Atlanta can they potentially get the second goal really solidify their lead not this time around can't look see still down a goal to nil just over the hour mark they have plenty of attacking left in them it seems they've been tacking really ad nauseam for most of this match and it's really seemed Adam that had you not had the score line up at the top you would probably think galaxy's winning this game I would a hundred some think Alex when he finished game if not tying it at the very least Elena looks like right I would say if this goes the same way for the full 90 la played or sorry Atlanta played to win maybe eighty five of it just on defense alone moving showing off that defense is gonna boot that one away twenty minutes to go for galaxy to salvage something from this match into capital looking to chip that one over the top you run wasn't quite on there it is back with Californians is this tried to wiggle his way past the defender they're gonna play through the middle Atlanta United trying to collect and come forward once more of a punk with stepping in the middle of that not having any of really Atlanta was trying to give him pump but once more this one played over the top it is nearly going to get there Logan with a great bit of defending to boot that one away and now allow anything further through his Williams Logan and Khan have definitely been standout performers for the Atlanta team they really kept the minute and see the attack going forward here pug but who has really been the man to watch for galaxy sliding that one to no avail and now could Atlanta United potentially get on the back of the defense once more of it mob stepped in the way of that and capo dropping deep into that midfield position once more we've seen that a few times Adam where capo really drops off to come to collect the ball and bring Galaxy forward senator tacking defensive midfielder I'd like to call it at wolves uh you know sometimes you've got to sit deep as a cam get those balls played forward the only thing that's gonna be damaging is when you get back I to get into the attack you're just not there for the play capo on this far sign can galaxy work a bit of galaxy magic was under ten minutes to go here they're starting to commit numbers four and this time Atlanta United might have a bit more of an opportunity snip over is there in Punk but with another interception he has been absolutely all over the place for galaxy you can see those four words are extremely winded from making all those runs as Logan's gonna try to step in the middle of that one that tackle doesn't come off you capo play the ball through it's taking away galaxies are gonna mount yet another attack it seems almost just in Drew's these attacks from galaxy but Atlanta and their defense have well defended very well cowpoke a few step overs trying to get that ball in the Box the cables for a penalty waved away and now Lani United this time no nearly had more numbers forward than galaxy did defenders but the galaxy defense in Pogba again making himself known in the midfield but this one's shift over the top two minutes added on but might not matter is Atlanta trying to chip that one into the middle this one whipped to the back post and it might get there and it could head away but it is Atlanta United who were preserving this lead and doing it extremely wealth can LA potentially mount one more attack and that will do it Atlanta UNITA courtesy Post Match of a second minute goal win this one two nil and I think atom galaxies are going to say that they probably deserve don't three points in that one but it really wasn't meant to be tonight two minutes in there I mean honestly Atlanta one of Atlanta's better of attacks if not the only attack that really had an impactful difference the item think I remember the second opportunity they had stat line did say they had two shots two on target but if it comes down to it I'd have to get the man domestic on she's like two big saves almost basically a third when I'm a double save but it comes and came up big that game for sure for the Atlanta boys because for I would say what eighty seven minutes they were defending and for the three minutes at the beginning it's all they needed for the attack well it was certainly a very clinical attack very early on potentially just catching a galaxy a bit off guard the defense that is really excelled this season not really able to contain that one and keep as many clean sheets as some would have said they'd have that galaxy again galaxy you're really gonna be ruing their chances because they had almost every opportunity to win this match opportunity but as I said Khan and that defense has absolutely held him down shoutout players like you know like I was saying Logan and Neymar we're gonna be huge what was the other side of the center back the other was named Beckenbauer in game he was having a hell of a game too I'm not sure the camera tag was I think I was at Demba was at Demba I have no idea because Lauren didn't have the names on well I'm assuming it was den because Burke did have his name as Frick as his player name and he was in the center so I'm assuming with Deb on that other center back but those backs we were having a huge huge game for themselves and we'll I'm not gonna have any slander towards senator tacking defensive midfielder that is mine for my position and well well well Adam will anything more to to go
