sure from charger fans I noticed it Dan and and uh I noticed it when we were at training camp uh during all those days that there was a different energy like fans were getting excited as soon as Jim Harbaugh was walking by everybody would be cheering Jim would kind of trip back at fans and say stuff and and you could tell that uh fans are definitely excited about for this year I mean obviously you have uh bolo 93 who says I wonder who we're drafting with a 32nd pck next year I bet you it's any somebody from uh Michigan oh my if I was willing to to bet hey they have a really good tight end right now that could uh he could be the guy uh Hugh loves the energy so shout out Hugh yeah uh Brad says I get flash Shield the are is green getting cut just like baram got cut that was the guy with all the concussions right yeah yeah remember he was they thought he was the next like Antonio Gates kind of guy I thought he was more productive though than param I don't oh no no no he was like he had some games yeah yeah well we'll get yeah we'll get into it he we he had some big games uh but yeah obviously uh a good um a good time to kind of get into this 53 man roster and then guys we will be back next Dan and I will do this on Wednesday we'll record on Wednesday we're releasing it Thursday because one we want to do that whole the thing that we've been doing for the last two years two seasons where we ask an opposing journalists about the team that they're facing so that you guys get all the uh all the info from the opposing team then Dan and I will record after that and then we already excited about our week one guest um still trying to find a week two because Carolina's a little bit different the Chargers don't really play those guys uh Steelers I'm kind of I'm kind of aiming for a home run hit on that one so I'm definitely uh definitely steers with Justin fields at quarterback that'll be interesting and then you your owed beer and wings no no right your owed pizza and and wings yeah pizza and beer pizza and beer pizza and beer with Eric Eric Sir Eric yeah yeah yeah so uh so yeah we'll get into all this roster stuff first off Dan uh I just wanted to get you uh started with something that khil Mack said today they asked they asked him about Jim Harbaugh and listen to what he had to say different character man he a different individual in the sense of just No Nonsense um knowing knowing the expectation knowing what he expects from every individual no expects from the offense no expects from the defense um and he'll tell you if you're not meeting that expectation and that's the one of the things that I love U just knowing that uh you'll get that hey they did good hey y'all Did bad y playing let's let's go that's that's all you can ask for from from a head guy what do you think is is next week week one already yes it is let's go no more baseball baseball takes a back seat your Padre's won tonight I don't know who they are I don't recognize anybody till October if they're lucky and if I'm still sober I do not care I do not care I cannot freaking wait week one football is back I like what he was saying basically I want to piggy back off of that you could tell these guys are buying in right and that I think has maybe been the biggest problem that we've seen in past years or whatever at least under the brain and daily era for now um you could tell like Jim Harbaugh is not a lightweight he's not a lightweight at all he doesn't care if you're the $300 million player or if you're the you know $50,000 player he's GNA tell you when you need to pick it up and I think that's what you wantan in a head coach like he brings an energy he brings an energy that makes his players you know play to a higher level a higher standard than they ever thought they could before I I honestly cannot wait to see it I honestly hope here vies kind of that Marty shoten Heimer days of just a physical tough football team and I hope he brings back you know maybe not the Rivalry with the Raiders just because you know they're not that good but I hope he gets that you know oh hey it's Chief's week we do not F around during Chiefs week you got that I cannot wait to see I shout out exactly rip Marty that was one of my favorite coaches still is one of my favorite coaches ever since uh I watched his football life that was awesome did uh and that's say there's three things there's three things you have to be careful for he said fatigue illness and uh injury it doesn't exist it's a state of mind if you will yourself not to be sick not to be hurt not to be injured it it's not real then you're not you're healthy you're perfectly good to go and that's the mindset that's got to happen right now they got to be tough dude they gotta be roll no uh fascinating just to see how to react you know I mean mind you that's a classroom let alone getting some you know engineer to screw up an elevator to get him stuck to see what he'd do I'm surprised he didn't do what Dwight did and establish a PE corner somewhere uh all right let's get uh let's see is there anything else that did you see what Brett put basically an escape room and I guess Jim did it Dan is this uh is this basically what your what's happening right now with your with your team they're the New World Order oh my God everyone is so screwed everybody better be ready this is like obviously Justin Herbert and East stick uh make the 53 man roster uh Dan was it a surprise that Justin Herbert made it people thought hey there was people saying he wanted a JJ McCarthy he wanted to trade that was the stupidest thing I've ever heard that was like you know getting you know how can I put this delicately that's like you know trading trading a nuclear weapon for a bazooka we want the nuke baby go bigger go home I want an ICBM not an RPG give me the son of Odin he can hit it from anywhere shout out Sydney swey call him God dang it Brett said that'll heal Justin's foot real fast hey you know he's ready to go and he's got that precision he'll put it right on the dot dude right so so compa after dark I get or what's up shout out um so obviously the eastn stick dilemma damn this is crazy and unpr president I think the Cleveland Browns decided to keep all four quarterbacks on their roster jamus Winston DTR uh Dorian Thompson yeah UCLA Robson UCLA uh jamus Winston famous jamus and obviously [Laughter] uh the Death Star baby and obviously um uh Tyler Huntley so that's a situation there the Seahawks released PJ walker uh Mike White was another guy that I had kind of looked at and I thought he would be a good fit for the charger you remember a couple seasons ago yeah with the Jets right yeah yeah he was with the Jets and then he went to the Dolphins last year and the Dolphins let him go I thought he'd be a good uh a serviceable backup but the the Buffalo Bills have I think he was meeting with them and I think he just signed with them so isn't it funny isn't it funny that you know just like in college now the pros visit teams like what are we doing what are we doing well they do a tiet well dvin cook visited the Cowboys today uh according to look at our facilities oh I think they want to I don't think it's a facility they want to see if he's in in shape like dvin cook he work out they haven't out yeah okay um you'd have to think that the way Jim Harbaugh is they're gonna want another backup and I'm sorry like eon's a good kid and everything yeah yeah yeah we're not talking about his character yeah don't humanize him no no no no don't get me wrong you're gonna they need to find a backup that just in case and I mean you said it a couple or you've said it for for a couple of years now that game against the Chiefs when when they asked Chase Daniel to come in and to complete they were already like near the goal line like they basically in the Red Zone yeah the Red Zone and they asked him to complete he couldn't complete one pass out of three tries uh it's when Justin had messed up his uh his rib um so obviously you need a backup that can come in I really don't think eon's that backup we saw it last year and I know everybody's going to point to the Raiders game but that was three touchdowns against a team that had already been like eh uh I know who that idiot is oh my god wow that's a good name I'll get where where is he we need to get him on this marketing team where why does he use the creativity always to screw with me on this program why can't he use it to help out the program making catchy catchy stuff like that um so obviously uh going back to it I yeah CJ CJ bethard actually that I like that one yeah Brett honestly like there was grid against the bills but you have to remember too they didn't score any touchdowns with him in the game the only time that they did was against the uh there was hold on I have the stat the Raiders they scored touchdown and they scored one touchdown against the bills that was his running touchdown hey driving D rugs drink a lot of alcohol and drive fast just like K allegedly allegedly no no no that was proven what are you talking about he went to prison no I'm kidding um but that guy's an idiot godamn it godamn driving on D rugs how about driving on D's Nuts shut the hell up let's go keep going you're throwing me off [Laughter] so so going back to the uh East thing he had scored one touchdown it was a rushan touchdown against the bill but then they they couldn't muster up anything on offense so that's kind of the question there when it comes to him like can you really trust him to come in and be able to put up any points because Cameron Dicker got a lot of work done I think he uh he Ked like 15 14 15 field goals or 13 13 145 one of those in that uh in that stretch so uh I just honestly gotta um you got to wonder who who could come PJ Walker's done it before obviously there's going to be a drop between Herbert and whoever the backup is but there can't be that big of a drop off uh that you have to question what's going on with your team so uh just to be honest I I think they need to go a different direction it'll be interesting because Jims basically I mean if you look at this roster he basically it's there's there's not really a guy that you're like oh he's taking a chance on this guy I mean I guess tart uh is the one guy that you think he is taking a chance on but other than that it's guys that he knows that he's been kind of coaching up tart was the guy that came up came in and I'm jumping but tar came in uh about two weeks ago and and he made the 53 man roster so and I asked a buddy who covers the Dolphins and he said hey that kid's talented he just needs a good kick in the ass so it seems like Harbaugh might be that uh that kick in the ass so um you bet you're K iny ass he's gonna kick it Chargers will win the AFC West scheduled his favor Chiefs defense won't bail him all at all season uh I'm not worried about the chief's defense I'm worried about the Chiefs 12 man honestly is Taylor Swift in the box is my question that's what I need to know how do we how they did her schedule they did their schedule well the NFL said they didn't do that that they just happen to do it alleg so they did their schedule around Taylor Swift's concert schedule so she can attend almost every game I think the only game she might not be able to attend is the Chargers Chiefs game in December inas division baby yeah division babyies away and get our new Jamal Williams ready Robert how you doing man thank you so much [Music] for uh let's go to running back I think I don't know I don't know if to many you guys can tell me in the comments if Jared Patterson was a was a surprise to you guys Gus Edward JK Dobbins kman Vidal uh all three of those guys we already know what they can do I think Vidal is going to have a is going to have an impact on this team this year I really think uh I really think that he's going to do something um I I I I do believe that he's GNA have an impact Jared Patterson was a guy that really during Camp he he made his presence felt he had some good plays he had some good rushes so he's definitely uh one of those guys that uh I don't know if he'll I don't know if he'll sued up on Sundays but he's a good uh back just in case if if something happens but the running backs look uh they look pretty good JK JK I'm interested to see what JK dobbin's going to look like during practice he's kind of looked like their home run hitter soon as he hits the edge and he turns the corner it's hard for people to be able to stop him what's up how you doing what's up bro he says my uh my man Dan is in the house sh out sh out look what Jessie said Brett excited for V do plus I w't have to get rid of my number 30 Jersey that's funny Jesse that's actually a good one uh good blocker and solid from what I heard I think p also helped on yeah he did yeah and and and he's a solid contributor that could uh that could make some plays happen and you have to remember too is that special teams now a big part of these guys' uh don't even acknowledge Him don't even acknowledge Him uh keep going keep going he's gonna he's gonna he's gonna be one of those guys that uh Jesse this is hilarious man like that's that's a really good one uh what a jackass um but I I I really do think that uh Patterson is going to be a good a good player it's just the other three running backs JK Dobbins I think could be a home run hitter for the Chargers Gus Edward's gonna be that kind of that ground and pound the guy that scores a lot of touchdowns uh Vidal's gonna be able to do it all um I'm interested to see when they do a screen with him he's going to be an interesting like screen kind of receiver uh or receiving running back obviously but all right let's move on now uh yes Robert a is here um he does not like the offensive we'll get to the offensive line uh right now uh a and remember guys I forgot to remind you guys about this it's the initial 53 man roster the way these guys have been tinkering with the roster they're going to continue making moves they're going to be doing a lot of different things so uh I would say patient a little bit because I think they're going to uh I think they're going to make some more moves as the uh as the the coming days uh happen because the way they' they've moved so far they're they they grab guys they release guys they do all kinds of movements um let's go to receivers here was the surprising one so it was ZJ CH Quinton Johnston Joshua Palmer lad makoni Darius Davis and everybody was wondering would it be Simmy filo would it be B uh Brendan rice who is it gonna be uh you had Jerry Rice Jr on Twitter uh commenting on this stuff uh um it was both of them both of them uh were the ones that ended up they both they decided to keep both of them that seven receivers I think it was just a surprise because some folks had Brendan some folks had stimmy and the Chargers decided to keep both of them uh Jim said after practice that they always expected to keep more receivers because of the competition to get different guys in there so um so yeah they kept seven guys we'll see what they decide to go with uh what they decide to go with uh their during the games because I mean what do you think I think they're gonna addess six receivers I don't think they would dress all seven Darius Davis Kind of becomes special teams guy but yeah but they could I mean especially what he did last weekend they they could use him on offense and he could be a weapon for them that that's what they should have done they they Kell Moore last year should have put him in a DeAndre Carter roll but for whatever reason the whiz kid couldn't figure it the F out dude what are we doing and you know to a the's point about having seven receivers and weapons we have to wait we still have to wait and see what they're going to do on the field with Justin Herbert running against ones that's what I can't wait to see I can't wait to see all these guys and I'm wondering going off of what you said I'm wondering who's gonna be the one who gets the Reps in game and who's G to maybe be the practice squad guy who's not suited so uh it's gonna definitely be interesting because you know they're probably keeping that many receivers just to give different looks on the field yep so yeah no I I definitely agree by the way I I still say I still hate the fact that you you have to sit seven guys out oh I think that's I think it's the dumbest thing ever like oh it's competitive whatever I liked what Kirk Morrison said about getting 60 men on the roster that's what it should be an even number I don't know why with more games why they haven't expanded the roster yet but no let's let's hold on and let's eliminate the drop hip tackle and all that other crap I don't care what hardell says that's a stupid rule Dan what did you think of uh the seven receivers on the team surprised about that one honestly I I didn't think he was very productive like as let's get a tight ends let's get it tight ends Will dley Hayden Hurst and stone Smart Stay Donald Parham is cut like Stone SM I I didn't understand why people were shock you know he wasn't very productive he wasn't very productive he you know got hurt a lot for being a 68 Target I don't think he was very useful you know if you're 68 you should be able to be used all over the field as a big Target in a in a pass catcher especially on third down and things like that go up and get it but do you believe he was misused well I think think well I guess we'll find out if he gets picked up by another team but I mean like if he would uh if he would have been misused I saw like two or three uh Eagles beat reporters I think that's a uh tweet out uh like they quote tweeted my tweet and they were like he'd be he was productive in the Kell Moore system last year no he wasn't I don't remember him being productive but e in any case right if he was misused you would have thought Harbaugh would have seen something in training camp it kept him so that's what his blocking is just his blocking is horrendous and that's the thing you can't just have onedimensional guys because every time he set he gets into the game you're gonna know it's a pass this guy's not gonna block so I'm not I'm not worried about it I'm not worried about it yeah no I definitely agree uh a the's asking did you see a survey that said that Al Josh Allen's the most overrated uh quarterback in the NFL uh I think they got confused they should have put Patrick Mahomes but that's my opinion so Patrick Mahomes most over rated player in the NFL overrated quarterback in the NFL he is Stone smart is a guy that last year he he showed flashes the only problem is he had a couple of uh he had a couple of drops and uh some other stuff that um that I feel like he kind of struggled with and I feel like this SE this preseason and when we were at when I was at training camp I saw a little bit more from him so uh so he definitely yes jge this is live this is live yes Jorge this is live how are you doing shout out my bad I didn't mean to cut you we appreciate you jumping on uh Robert says that Parham was a hot tub room guy I don't even know what that means hot tub room guy I know he dropped a lot of pass that have the Mark Davis could play The Fallout series dude uh Brett does he not seem like the definition of of a lizard person like he doesn't seem real dude no that picture of him at that uh at that In-N-Out just sitting there like that's the craziest thing ever like I don't know I don't get it all right let's go to offensive line now Dan ran Slater Zion Johnson Bradley Boseman Trey pipkins and Joe Walt are your starters at the offensive line to back them up jir saer Jordan mcfaden Foster Cel and Brendan heus are the uh backup so obviously no surprises here um Jordan mcfaden is going to be a guy that I think they're going to use in uh they're going to use him at fullback the way they have been um and it seems like they really like him at that spot and and I I was noticing some plays with him and I think he does open up uh some windows there for the running back so that'll be interesting uh Foster C's a guy that's really put in the work you can tell that uh he's been working at it Brandon heus is kind of the outlier here a little bit like he has some good moments and he's very versatile but he still I think needs to be uh coached up a little bit but again uh and then Jamari saer is a guy that really he came in his rookie year he played really well for ran Slater at left tackle last year they moved him to guard I feel like he's still kind of adjusting to it then he was hurt for a good portion of training camp so uh he's gonna have to work his way up but uh but that is your offensive Dan I think that's the best offensive line they've had since probably 2018 but I think you'll uh you'll kind of smack me 2018 they were they were terrible in 2018 no that was uh they were not good no that was Mike pouncy that was uh hold on 18 you know who was an 18 Sam tevy scoffield at guard that's why I know scoffield wasn't that bad that year it was the next year where he was uh buy he was on skates half the time dude what about uh I don't think bouncy was healthy yeah I remember him I don't think he was healthy though who pouncy was he no pouncy wasn't healthy in 19 okay so who was him and Russell okung both made the Pro Bowl oh but you're not gonna that was a obviously Justin is a young player tart is another guy that he needs a like I said I was told he needs a kick in the butt to kind of get going you know what you're gonna get out of Morgan Fox and Puna Ford Morgan Fox kind of a a pass rush yeah yeah the dude the dude knows the dude balls he he knows what he's uh he's there for he knows what his role is uh Puna Ford Eric Williams knows him from the Seattle days not knows him but like he knows of him and he says that he's a good player that uh he he he really is going to be able to help stop the run uh there's just those other kind of question marks but I think Tito was a guy that was really growing into his own until he got hurt uh then he came back and I feel like he played well Scott is a guy that he he told us he felt like he really played well down the stretch of last season so uh yeah there's going to be a lot of pro it there's a lot of pro it players I think on the on the defensive line Dan it's going to be interesting I can't wait for week one I'm tired of talking about the hypotheticals I can't wait for freaking week one when it comes to Matlock let's just play Let's just beat some battle drums play some Viking music Let could the cut be how much did the cut be oh shoot was it 8 million eight million something it was either well no it was a significant cut okay well either way like obviously you don't want it to just be only a third down package guy if you're paying him 8 to 10 mil but that's what you need to do you need to keep him fresh you know especially he's going to get double team less hopefully as long as D pri's healthy and uh and uh God this idiot is confu is dest throwing me off now as long as he stays as dpri stays healthy they move guys around they get guys being productive you know they scheme it had to make well I mean they're going to say that all of them are tough decisions but I feel like that's a tough decision that they had to make I'm sure they're going to try and bring him back for their practice squad uh he's a guy that I think they were really high on Jesse Minter spoke about him numerous times and and said that they were really excited about him so uh I think if they can sneak him onto the practice squad I think they'll be excited so um as of right now nobody well we'll see who puts in a waiver claim for these guys but uh but yeah no pass rush I think it's one of the best pass rushes in the NFL to be honest if they can all stay healthy and they limit all their Productions I think each of these guys could be uh shoot what did I say I think everybody on this thing could get anywhere from seven and a half to 10 and a half sacks each I think they're one of these guys that uh that can really uh I think they'll definitely uh be able to do it but uh but we'll see what happens I I I think they're a scary pass rushing uh uh Fantastic Four whatever you want to call them all right Lineback what what are you laughing at btio in the carnivore diet you don't need the uh about this upcoming season and and he shown flashes during training camp he had a couple of picks he had a couple of really good uh knockdowns so uh I I really do that I I really do think that he's going to be a a guy that's improved Junior Coulson Dan I I think that's the player that really excites you doesn't it oh that 100% I can't wait to see what these guys are going to do and especially Deion Henley better be ready to go with his white Power Ranger chain that we saw oh yeah hey he and I were geking out we're like Tommy Oliver greatest Power Ranger of all time right we even threw up a is maybe that they kept Dean Leonard but it wasn't really a surprise I feel like he really made kind of a significant jump from uh from the last kind of years you saw a lot lot of foolishness a lot of kind of dumb plays from him and here he looked a lot more poised he he looks like he's taking that next step I I think he's really uh I think he's really turned a corner so I I I think he'll be able to be a good player for these guys I don't know how much he'll play um I think maybe out of this list maybe cam Hart's the one that maybe doesn't sued up uh I don't know I I I'm interested to see kind of how they're going to line up but a Samuel Jr and Christian Fulton seem to be like the duo and uh Christian fton did really well against Cooper cup and against those guys so uh we'll see when that happens uh the group that scares me the most I think we can share is the dline yeah yeah that's that's what I was saying Brett the D line is really sorry the dline is really uh a lot of question marks there the defense is gonna have to really buy into the scheme because uh because I I really think that if they can buy into the scheme they're going to be able to uh they're going to be able to do well and that's what I think Jesse M scheme does well I think it masks whatever problems they have it's gonna be able to that scheme's GNA be able to uh to mass some of those problems so um all right
