we both happy best of seven no interval we just play through good morning everybody and welcome back to the wine sellers.com usw women's snooker open of 2024 it's Championship Sunday a great match to kick us off the semi-final between Tessa Davidson and an an last year's runner up Tessa has created quite a Resurgence in her career from taking a little bit of an absence from the game it's kind of the the old guard and the new guard going against each other it's going to be exciting match David Bernie's in the booth guiding you through this one and Dave Daly will be the referee at the table tune in on Facebook YouTube and Twitch TV look at the ox Billiards page that's where you'll find us and let's begin with frame one and on to break these semi-finals are best of seven so you might see a few of these players is going for a few more shots than they would early on as they get closer to the Finish Line it probably will tighten up a little bit right now on stands with a high break of the tournament at 90 are we in store for a sentury today only time will tell little double kiss don't think she's going to be punished too badly for that first frame of the day usually you're want to engage in a safety battle to start things get your opponent to falter first and then attack and you definitely tried to grab this Frame early don't blame her it's always a good confidence booster to get uh going early on we are at the ox bards club in Seattle Washington it's been the site of all these us opens it's the third installment always great to be here emissions free so you like to come down join us in the Capital Hill area 1432 Broadway is where you can find us we will find out who will be the new US Open Champion as nut got upset last night by unu from India if you have any comments or questions we have an active chat going some good discussion all weekend long think that might be touching ball okay the referee daily do mention something usually obviously when the touching ball does take place the referee does point at which ball it is touching to see we have some friends tuning in from Canada Arc Salon yamy strong player up there in the Vancouver area hopefully someday he can come down for the seatt open this might be a costly Miss for Tessa you sporting the new very fancy wardrobe definitely uh a lot of people were excited with her wear yesterday she dons the gray and pink and Tessa is in the purple and black yes AJ hopefully we will see at the BC open hopefully we see moving back to Calgary you can uh get the scene going out there we can have a vibrant scene in Alberta always one there already is one going there but uh hopefully AJ can bring his finesse work to all of it and we can get that Alberta Open going it's always a fun tournament test is the first one in do have to get a big shout out to fast Eddy Po and snooker and barnberry or banebury my apologies without them we wouldn't see Miss Davidson over here she has really appreciate of the sponsorship of that room back in England so thank you very much fast Eddie it's been great to meet Tessa really lovely lady and does know her way around the table for sure rosme is stacked with definitely a lot of winds and she was in tough last night had to go to a decider against naoya from Mongolia so great to see a lot of players from all over the world participating in this US Open Alex just chiming in yes this is the semi-finals the first semi-final today and the second one will follow this match to conclude with the final a little later on this afternoon just when she's getting going breaks down so decent little opening 14 break but she's gifted a chance here for Ane for nice done got another red into the top right corner also has an option of a red into the right middle she can hold after this red for the pink into the right middle this the these great players you'll see it a lot Championship Sunday like to keep small compact shots want to be throwing that QQ ball all around the table it's really keeping good control and on is one of the best at doing that amazing to see yesterday after the tournament concluded for a day Anie and her coach Allen came in and was at the D practicing away and probably an hour before we started today they were even in here practicing so just keeping at it making sure everything is the same consistency for 30 very nicely done got on the right side of the blue to the right side of the blue the natural angle after she takes this blue into the middle pocket will force the cuq ball to come down to the business end of the table uh oh put that one a little wrong there see if Tessa can uh respond nice little 31 Break by on look like she was informed to take the frame at that visit but unfortunate in off on the blue left her to reside back to her chair and see what the English woman can do great camera angle there to show you what Tessa has to deal with and how large these tables are six F feet by 12T both players striking well like a heavyweight boxing match both have brought their a game definitely agreed woi man007 the table may be large but these pockets are pretty tight balls are a bit smaller are V Valenzuela plays a lot of snooker in the community here in Seattle on the chat thanks for tuning in hope you're enjoying the action all weekend long here the win sellers.com usw women's snooker open of 2024 our good friend that was in the booth yesterday Molina Ortiz plays out of the Legends Club in Portland Oregon as our sparring partner Javier on the Stream yes Wy men I believe these are pretty similar to the main tour for pocket size they did have the great Simon Barker coming in to do all the table maintenance beforehand think Simon Barker's passport has more stamps than the US Postal Service that man travels around the world and then some so both players just having a little discussion as referee daily looks to spot to the Q Ball but he'll check in with both players if they agree if everyone's in agreeance play on e she was able to hit a red the unfortunate part is she's left a easy starter for on who has a 16-point advantage in this first frame best final semi-final match is there a path for this ping or even does she have the black looks like she's on the black wasn't fortunate for that black to kiss into the Q ball and knock it astray because once again Tessa has a relatively easy chance to get in does had a good chance there fortunately it was a tricky red wasn't a Elementary one left on you needing to use the rest going from one side of the table to the other met all the women in this tournament very impressive with the rest they don't really see it as a hindrance they see it as a acceptable tool that they need to master to become a great snooker player oh great black right there got I think to aill your uh rest play woogi man there was a player up in British Columbia by the name of G Gary Spence and the famous Bill Warick noticed that Gary was just absolutely terrible with the rest so he said Gary we're going to have a little match and we're going to play every shot with the rest no matter how close or how far everything was going to be with the rest and now Gary's not too bad with it so all it takes is just get practice and get used with that tool on is showing that practice is paying off after the tournament and before the tournament started she's in there commentator's curse strikes again but she's up 34 points with 27 on the table so Tessa just need needs one snooker and then clear all the color balls and force a black ball respot Green's not in a bad position over there looks like she's got one to start off should be a tricky Escape for Oni but making her think just a little bit for as the frame gets on a lot of these balls are going to be pushed out of position as pink and brown are close to cushions t for a run out for Tessa she does get the snooker for you spoiled that little hiding place for the green it's still kind of just off the cushion guess I could possibly get a snooker behind that green at some point in time oh I think she wants to get that shot back it's not a gimme but it's definitely a chance for on to take this first frame this double goes in this be a one frame Advantage for her just into play safe 36 in it and 25 on T needs three Snookers obviously in The Knockout phase of the tournament there's no no limit on the the concession where we're in the round robin when they got to the colors if more than snooker three Snookers were required it would be a concession it's part used for educational purposes in these tournaments as we get some new players to the game and some of them might think that the game ends when all the balls are down on the in the pockets but that's not the case in the game of Snookers sometimes the frames just so far to reach that you con seed it's been great to see some of the more experienced players be more kind of mentors and teachers to uh the young and newer inexperienced players great family atmosphere that we have here at the tournament have to say these women don't really dilly dally too much you see the shot they know what they need to do and get on with business they don't really you know waste a lot of time walking around the table definitely think if this uh green go ball goes down in the hands of on that will be probably a concession there sometimes you just have to realize it's the first frame there's plenty of snooker left in this match let see you want to get that first frame on the board sooner than later it's getting to be a very interesting area down there with the pink and brown that's I can get somewhere in that area good chance for a snooker most of the time when you're laying a snooker you just kind of want to get in a certain area if you get tight behind a obtrusive ball it's all the better don't think the blue is in the way there see the mind of just rolling it over the pocket she's G to try and get a snooker herself ug man is chining in with a very random question of do I have a favorite wine whatever you're pouring woogy man I'm a favorite of and owner operator Mike Dominguez enjoys a super duscany wine it's a good point of discussion as you know our Premier sponsor right here is win sellers.com if you haven't seen their work it's quite tremendous they do home and the commercial uh buildings so definitely look them up win sellers.com with the amount of wine sometimes we drink behind the scenes I don't think we're needing a seller so that green gone down that's a cin session there so on takes this first frame of the semi-final match we'll just step aside for actually a word from our fellow sponsor at wine sellers.com [Music] [Music] and referee Dave Dy just making the final adjustments here get us going on frame two on is just stepped aside for a quick little Comfort break things will get rolling momentarily it's a nice beautiful shot of the room down here in Ox four beautiful star snooker tables to be accompanied by nine rason eightball eight n Footers eight ninef Footers and one Chinese eightball table Yeah the Chinese eightball it's becoming quite a popular thing on the west coast in North America definitely interesting game it's a size of a pool table but the pockets are cut like a snooker table it's us back in the booth Mike Dominguez giving his great Dr claw impersonation there from Inspector Gadget just an arm always good good fun here in the booth But Here Comes Tessa Davidson fast Ed his own Tessa to break it off she's left over red out in the open is on feel up one frame best the seven i' be surprised if she refused it come to a decid probably she wouldn't take it on but early in the match will pump up her confidence yeah no harm no foul it is true I think wug man you do need to win a lot of Millions real estate is definitely well I think globally real estate is just going bananas which always makes it tough to fit in these large 6X 12 tables here in North America we do have a lot of space just we like to migrate to the big uh City centers what Tessa has this red just below those two on the left side she cut that into the middle pocket and maybe with the natural angle go through the Gap be on the pink or blue for safe smart move for for here's the traditional safety exchange of players clipping off balls and running back into bulk but when some Reds start to get up there the more intelligent shot is just to keep around the top table push all the Reds back up to the bulk end see tough part of that if a player is to make a mistake someone might get in and have a lot of Reds up table the advantage is you have multiple colors for different point values the unfortunate part is they're the low valued colors not high like the pink and black he's got a few Reds a red into the right middle there's a red into the left middle this where she switches from defense and starts to get into offense still going to play defensive push those Reds up table a lot of respect between both of these opponents just might have spoiled the party a little bit obviously is a red that's open on the left side the left middle but it looks like there is a pathway for the red into the middle the right side let's now see what on can do it's a tough position to be in in your chair can't do anything just hoping that your opponent falters and you get a chance up with this BL there's two Reds at the top end of the table yeah I would mind just stunning into this red and hold for the pink be a little low on it so the natural angle will take her back up to the table to where all these Reds are for right round just goes by that red it looks like just see the angle from our window the commentating Booth very slim but there's a path when he's found it just update you face man this is the semi-finals but kudos to you uh great nickname there one of the members of the a team is in the house always good to see for very nicely done like right closest to the middle It's Tricky but I think it's there just didn't look like it was going to go so thin cut here into the left middle be a great saving pot it's there nicely done by Ani she definitely needed that to continue the break well played have a little bit of an angle to come off a couple cushions she missed the black but the black came to her rescue covered up that red to the left middle so nice little controlled 32 break there by on see if Tessa can respond I think she'll be happy with that didn't uh keep an easy start for on to come back and continue her dominance in the second frame there's a nasty bit of work queuing over that red ball and an is right now the high break holder but she does have a break of 90 which she got yesterday one of her last round robin matches but I think it's possible we could see a Sentry today you know these a little bit more longer frame matches sometimes these players like to go for it a little bit more early on oh bit unfortunate there for Tessa has that green is around the bottom of the pocket you always feel all right if you get defeated and just beaten by a better player but when you start making unforced errors and really beat yourself that makes the the loss even tougher to take they pushed all the Reds up table now are they going to push them back down table time will tell it does have a cut on that red into the right middle than definitely a good chance here on on the right side of the blue open Reds open p pink open black I think if she doesn't uh take the frame here she'll be kicking herself yes it is true Butler McDonald a lot of great uh events here at aux and they do a wonderful job of putting the stream on and we're getting a little bit of coverage here and there in Canada I know I put up the BC open and the Canadian national tournament was on last June so slowly but surely but definitely Ox is uh setting the standard for Quality guess the one trouble part is with our countries America and Canada so large it almost seems like we have pockets little snooker pockets in the Pacific Northwest or in the province of British Columbia or province of Ontario or in the New England area of America where the game flourishes in Britain it's a lot easier Prett much they can be in major cities in a couple hours drive where it takes quite a while to get to these big snooker hot beds in Canada and the US 22 break stops there slowly makes her way back to the table just a little dejected but then has to have the mind of a goldfish forget all that happens just look for that next chance yeah I think it's it's baby steps obviously the gang at uh Ox bilard didn't come out guns of Blazing you know as Nishi said one can't fly into flying one must learn to walk before they can run if people know their history lessons or if they've been watching Jeopardy you know actually Au started as Bay way back in February 2020 things were looking real promising for a great Club down in the Pioneer Square area then a little nasty thing called the pandemic came around really shook things up but that just shows you the resilience of Mike Dominguez Jamie Miller and the whole gang here at aux they uh tightened up their shoelaces and came with another game plan and opened up this beautiful facility is beautiful as this shot making that an is making she gets down to business she means it interesting two both notied with Oni and mink mink last year's Champion is out of the tournament but both of them have quite deliberate pauses in their back swing good important thing to do just to steady yourself so this is definitely going to be the second frame towards the woman from Hong Kong that'sa Davidson not out of it she could easily just win two frames on the spin as we did see last year's Final on stormed ahead two nothing but then ran into a feisty tie in mink Nutro who won four on the spin to win the championship yeah those Pockets that were so tight early on are opening up as the size of buckets no real pressure just almost like a practice exercise right now for on just potting balls at her Leisure and let's see if she can run it out and make a half century it'll be tricky nice Brown to develop that yellow don't know if it got enough yeah still impressive 91 to poor victory in that frame so uh Tesa concedes and we'll say step aside for a quick moment before frame three to get a word from our sponsor at win sellers.com [Music] [Music] and we're back here at the wine sellers.com US Women's snooker open 2024 Oni last year's runner up looking in the driver seat right now with a two frame Advantage set to break off I think now you might see if uh on gets a chance to really get in she might try and kill the frame early ride that momentum yeah he was definitely giving it a chance she opened up a thin cut into the right middle here for Tessa have to give big love to fast Edd's pool room and banebury over in the UK raised up a lot of money to send Tessa over here I know Tessa really appreciates the contribution that they've made enabled her to come over and play this great tournament and we're happy to have her over here took quite a Hiatus from the game was very skill for young player and the business of raising a family came along stepped away and has come back with authority this is the first semi-final of the day we've got another semi-final coming up after this with beex Kenna and a new Pama randr if I'm pronouncing that correctly but she does like to go buy a new great player from India knocked out the last year's champ last night in a thrilling deciding frame very nice Q ball there tight to the bolt cushion as those only got the top half of the ball to deal with has to concentrate just that much more doesn't want to put any unwanted side on it which always can happen on these shots a little bit more pace and she would have played the old classic Cliff Thorn shot he brought that shot to the UK when he came over way back in the 1970s coming off two cushions and clipping off a red and going back into bulk just to raise a hand there safety was the most importance there and just fluked in a plant shot there and in these best of seven there is no mids session interval so uh no breaks will be happening we'll play through hopefully yeah tessla would like to get a few more frames on the board going down three nothing this is a a definitely big uphill battle in a best of seven match especially when you have a feisty competitor like on she might be you know toted as the favorite right now as last year's runner up but upsets do happen in sports as we saw last night with mink uh dropping out of the tournament she was very uh very gracious actually at dinner last night had dinner after the day was done and she's was mentioning that she just wasn't feeling wasn't stroking well and you know I can't win everything you mentioned cliff thorburn and you know he had a pretty amazing uh break after a fluke as we all remember in 1983 first player ever to make a maximum at The Crucible theater came when he fluked the first red in for all newcomers a maximum is taking 15 Reds with 15 blacks and then running the colors very very tough thing to do this professional players just make it look so easy if you think it's as easy come down to Ox grab a snooker que and put your hand on the table be surprised if you got two a little path by those maybe the two that are together closest to the cubble the bottom one might just cut through that Gap into the top left corner looks like maybe she's going to clip off the other two near the top cushion come back to the bulk area that horn didn't help her last time and it didn't help her here could have been a lot worse might have a little safety battle here there might be a little plant in there possibly what has she spotted with her little eye oh offly safety was of Paramount importance there just got to be careful he doesn't go in off but you probably take that red that's out in the open the four on the bottom and you could have a little shot to nothing here that red in the open just above the red and black off the left side of that I think she'll like the result of that one tap on the table is acknowledgement from our opponent does have an angle come back for the blue as the black and pink are really tied up I'll be careful this just the right amount of th Snick on that red there's a little bit of danger of canning into a ball and stopping the pass of the Q ball Tesla was able to find a path safely back to bulk always has some R near the top cushion on the left side but it's just you negotiating through the yellow and brown is just a little bit of an annoyance she's left a mid-range shot here R she wants she's really taking away the left side of the table very nice shot there it's tough to get back to bulk but you found the pathway and avoided the in off D might come off two cushions and get behind that yellow actually three and find the brown has left that uh one red open be mindful of the in off could go into the top left corner this safety exchange it at least has opened up the pink a little bit so player is going to get in that is at their advantage but there's a lot of cherries surrounding that pit black ball really tied up for a while seems like who's going to falter on the safety exchange side tip is wondering about mink unfortunately mink lost in their quarterfinal match last night so there will be a new champion just rattling the jaws and almost Dro and I think she might be actually has a Saving Grace with that brown gu I might have to put some swerve on this to get around the brown to take that red that's right by the top right corner pocket she's got a shot at the pink they are very tricky into these Side Pockets so I don't blame her for refusing it if she was to miss she could have left on ye with a golden opportunity and our way down in the frame or the match two frames to nothing you don't want to go even further on an unforced air rather had of a flick on that brown getting those long pots just unfortunate uh color it is to be desirable it's a great stat there by Butler McDonald acknowledging that these two players have traveled over 11,000 miles to get here ning travel on traveled about 6,467 miles he says from Hong Kong and Tesla coming all the way over from the UK traveled 4,738 miles snooker always brings out the niche facts that's for sure in each game they actually have narya she came all the way from Mongolia that's quite a track as well and the other semi-finalist hanu has come from from India so it's great to see that this US Open is quite an ambassador of a a global event players from all corners of the Earth are coming here even our referee Dave Daly originally from Ireland but now lives in the Seattle area and myself I'm just up the road in Canada so there's more Flags here than the Olympics nice red to get things going on the right side of the blue few Reds out the open Pink's open beautifully done now w 7 mentioned our good friend Dave henden it's uh quite interesting the list of Daves in this game you I've got two with you right now today as in Dave daily the referee and I'm Dave Bernie in the commentary booth and there's our good friend Dave henden remember David Vine David Gilbert the player so list goes on maybe they put that D on the table for a reason it's almost like that great uh Kids in the Hall song These are the days I know these are the days in snooker we know nice little 22 break in building here for on good chance to get this third frame build up a commanding lead just might have broken down a little bit there he's going to need a tough recovery shot here only with a 40-point lead 65 on the table this Frame just over ain't over just yet that's what she's got to deal with right there wow great recovery ends on the pink fantastic shot after some great recovery shots just broke down on that one she's got a 47 Point advantage but 59 on the table and an easy star here for Tessa how does she respond Aaron Moss chiming in want to know the highest break so far is 90 in the tournament on had that yesterday Aaron Moss who did a great deal of work here referee and we appreciate his help in the tournament and his lovely lady friend Renee providing all of us with some delicious jelly we appreciate the gifts tremendously I think an is g to appreciate that gift of a red just a gentle uh stun shot here on the red to be on the right side of the blue W it to come down down and disturb one of these Reds that's on the top table top cushion I should say but oh it was a touch shot but just a little too touchy there nice shot that by Tessa good angle to disturb these Reds on the top cushion it's all Happening Now players are missing what we expect them to make I don't think there's a pathway now for that right along the cushion so safe shot here by on in the driver's seat in this Frame Up by 45 with 43 on the table so Tesa does need one snooker always with Reds on the table you know if you had that last red there's a chance of a free ball as well so many scenarios could play out here in the third frame that black is pretty covering up that pocket I don't think there's a little sneaky p for the red to get by decent opportunity did that not drop fortunately this looks really straight but if she can draw back just a little bit she be queing down on the ball she could have the black into top Corner Pocket just don't get behind that yellow there's places on the table that you don't want to be after the shot and that is a place where you don't want to be after that shot she's trying it there so there's a concession there so Tessa Davidson all the way from England has an uphill battle against last year's runner up as on takes that third frame to lead three frames to nothing in this best of seven semi-final match we'll be right back with frame four after this short break [Music] [Music] and here we're back with frame four with Tessa Davidson to break off to get things started she's got an uphill battle I think uh you're probably going to see on take on maybe a more tougher shot than usual you know she won't uh she might elect to be more aggressive in this frame with a 3 nothing Advantage it's just the first match of Championship Sunday here at the wine sellers.com usw women snooker open 2024 an looking to book her card into the finals again she does have a commanding lead in this match but as we saw last night Tessa was down to narut Toya she battled back forcing The Cider even was trailing into the cider battled back La some telling Snookers so you're never out until you're out Yogi bar one it ain't over till it's over for full ball kiss on that green have a little Snick on the cheek almost and shoot it towards the brown she just left the long red for on here very nice try he being up three nothing she's definitely going for those has left a little tester there for Tessa don't know what kind of color she fanes after that righted in the middle open of the left side just going to come on the bottom side of this red by the right cushion take a c ball off the top cushion get into bulk for that shot she might have just just popped up just a little early on the shot you want to keep that head really still I like to tell people move your head when you know you can hear the ball going to the bottom of the pocket with these mesh nettings a nice little jingle see a very delayed head movement there on on pretty much referee Dy was getting the ball out of the black ball out of the pocket and then she decided to move her head after this black that red the two in line that are Q balls closest to should go into the top left that might free up that other red that's on the left side that's in the open of those kind of four so she's probably thinking about it but then when she gets down on this black it's all about it can't be thinking ahead to stay in the moment think that clip might still be up on W's YouTube page World Snooker tour had the pleasure of having on in the booth last year actually ironically enough when mink had a sentury but it was nice to hear an's kind of philosophy she's always thinking you know about three shots ahead but then when she's down on the shot there's only one in mind it's a tricky shot to keep the break going but we've seen her make a lot more difficult shots the for acrobatic skills there of Tessa to hold that rest in a very peculiar position big black here natural angle is going to take her into these Reds so this black needs to find the bottom of the pocket or she's going to be in trouble is there a path way for that red I don't think it goes by the pink well how do you like that she just a little chuckle to herself raises of a hand great to hear the support for Tessa good fan base out there they're probably all glue to their TV sets over there at fast edes banebury England really helped uh Tessa achieve this dream of participating in the wine sellers.com usw women snooker open hopefully someday in a not too distant future we can have really lucrative prize pots but for right now a lot of these women that travel to these tournaments that's come from all over the globe as we've seen kind of making it a somewhat little vacation as well chance to see the Pacific Northwest and the beautiful trees that on the the landscape out here for very nice pot very tricky going all over those Reds that she had to deal with love to get the black ball back on its spot sooner than later might come in a shot a few shots time for Tessa has a very nice chance here to just put her C Ball tight behind the yellow playing a little aggressive going for the pot very nicely done that is just glued to the black there one Saving Grace Tessa might have had if there was a little bit of space that that red on the S cushion could been a Saving Grace but on ye just plays a devilish snooker right there as you can see look how tight that CU ball is to the black just painting it let's C go back a few times s it's a better second attempt it's there well done wow tremendous shot there used all of the pocket to get in there she might just sneak up behind this green very nice just a thin thin head on that great temperament that on has there you know sometimes you're up three nothing with one frame to win you want to push the issue but she kind of took her medicine and had a great great snooker there on Tessa Behind the Green Tess equally responded with a great shot but acknowledges that good shot P referee daily just comeing to take a look just in case it needs to be resp spotted for for had a good path back to bulk say the Reds getting a little bit more separated away from the cherry tree they'll get spaced out so Paramount importance of getting a good CQ ball back into bulk for Tessa and her supporters doesn't want to give on an easy chance and a lot of open Reds to continue to score heavily as she has a 16-point advantage in this fourth frame for just as a little mindful of the black queueing over doesn't want any fiber of her clothes to touch it very nice pot there and was just a little elevated couldn't get the bridge arm down solid on the table just checking to see if that pink goes by the red she's checking at the r position for that that's by the pink I thought she might have been going brown red that she's close by into the right middle and then come back for the pink but taking this red on left of the pink really opens up the pink Nice Shot great angle on the blue he got this red into the opposing midal pocket nice pink just to stun on sh that red open to the cluster of three to a nice shot there develop some Reds stayed onto the pink great great chance for frame end match here BR just needs to settler nurse he's not there just yet just take it one shot at a time just dance around the pink look use the Pink Panther is this pink GNA interfere it's tough to tell from this camera angle 32 doesn't look like it looks like she's okay this is her frame ball right here this red it's been a nice controlled break of 33 in building Kane is going to be a backto back finalist Tessa did have a few chances here definitely when on had her chances she got in and scored heavily sorry to disappoint all the fans there at Fast Eddies and they were really rooting for Tessa you can't say enough kind words about what you did to help Tessa to get over here we really appreciate that hopefully a lot more people like yourselves can do that dig deep in your pockets maybe make a little fundraiser at your bull and snooker room to get the your local player into one of these prestigious tournaments Unfortunately today it's not Tessa's day however she will be battling in the senior open or the senior championship of this tournament against maryan McConnell so all might not be lost unfortunately won't be streamed we'll be streaming this other semi-final match but we'll keep you updated as that uh match progresses there's a nice half century there 53 and Counting for on 53 nice to see her finish maybe with an 80 he will be tricky going to Pink to black but there's no not a lot of interference at that time if she can get there and the commentator curse happens there but a shake of the hands well done on ye a whitewash victory over Tessa Davidson on ye will be in this year's wine sellers.com usw women's snooker open and we're probably going to step aside for about 40 minutes time our next semi-final match ated to get underway at 12:30 Pacific time going to be a great one beex Canen of taking on Anu Palama raanan pronouncing that name right it's first time I met her but she does like to go by Anu so stand by for that everybody so get that nice cool drink and we'll be back in about 40 minutes time it's David Bernie saying see you then [Music] [Music] [Music] e e e e e for e spe for for e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e for e for CL should e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e hello and welcome back every everybody to the win sellers.com us women snooker open of 2024 referee Dave Dy is just getting the table in order for our second semifinal match of the day between England's own beex Kenna going against India's Anu Pama ramachandran I'm pronouncing that correctly but she likes to go by Anu so beex and Anu will be battling out in this best of set semi-final match winner moves on to face Ani in the final that'll be going on a little later today at Ox billiards in Seattle Washington the toss is gone and Anu has won the toss and elected to break off and we're happy that you're tuned in wherever you're finding us whether it be on Facebook YouTube or Twitch TV it's the ox Billiards page and if you got any comments or questions feel free there's an active chat going on and do let us know where you're tuning in from s is a global glame we like to see where all our fans are tuning in and everything's getting set and we'll be uh getting underway momentarily it's David Bernie in the booth and we're happy that you're all along with us so the final preparations have been made and referee daily will get things started going for their uh pre-match photos right there actually as you can see over there there's Tessa Davidson and MaryAnn McConnell in the seniors championship and it looks like Jamie Miller and Karen lyson are playing in the challenge cup so try and keep you updated as that goes along but right now we're in store for a great semi-final match tough one to tell here actually both are accomplished players on new has uh got some great wins to her record she took out last year's champ so that's definitely uh a great Victory to add to the resume and Beck's kind of sponsored here by ax definitely uh knows her way around the SN table so frame one to kickoff here we go definitely Beck's going for it early on kind of nice to see got a lot of snooker ahead of us you'll see that a bit more often than kns in these early uh stages of more longer form matches the best of three is always a challenge to really take on some more dangerous shots but get into the longer frames in the early stages kind of sometimes can afford to take on something a bit difficult look up for this for nice opening red there by beex just Disturbed a little bit by some background noise in the room it's always nice when you can get into the balls early on in a match just get that back arm swinging freely 16 she does have options it looks like I don't know that red actually that's out in the open on the left side that one red might block the path but she does have those red to the right of the two just uh doing some Tiding up there trying to someone's hair got in her way probably able to stun off this red hope they come up for the blue very nice very nice flick on the pink to develop it 31 than 1300 she's on the right side of the blue not sure the angle is going to take her down just looking at that red that's just open to the right of the bunch just ran just a bit too much yeah not really liking it might be in the break at 45 good contribution see how a new response to this unless specs can make a really fantastic recovery shot she took her medicine didn't try and force anything knows that theity of nonne is topnotch definitely at the earlier part of the match you know players are fresh so definitely uh they're goingon to be really wired in focusing High whereas the match as it gets a little bit later you fatigue can step step in and uh just make your backand a little bit more nervous your eyes get a little tired faan there has been talk about that he's inquiring about the speed of the tables and actually talking to referee Dave Daly who does play here quite a lot has commented that they are playing a little bit slow obviously with the warmth of the summer months they do put on the air conditioning so might make it a little bit cooler in the room but one thing is for sure both players have to play on the same table it's got to run a little bit more blue has not come has not come to the rescue for Becks new does have a mid-range red nicely struck she's got a PO now she needs to put a break together yeah Alex is wondering why you wouldn't put your opponent in after that in off maybe beex felt that she had the advantage she you know just didn't have a great safe shot at least she isn't uh penalized for that mistake Anu only takes away one point you know we can we can call all the shots in the world from uh the commentary booth and our living room but sometimes when you're down on the shot you're playing in a semifinal there a lot of factors at Play aggressively taking that long pot on for just struggling a little bit on those colors it's made some nice Reds a new has but uh definitely not shying away from the mid-range pots that's for sure this black is on for beex just having her brid hand on the cushion just makes it a little bit tougher for might just be a little straight on this green unfortunately there's a touch of angle at least to get her down table very nicely done yes Alex mentioned the great Rono suvin you know definitely has some ability but I hear that he hits about 20,000 balls in practice during a week so he just keeps that repetitive motion going f might be tough to hold for the black on this blind cut yeah she was thinking about the black unfortunately she's left to relatively easy starter there for beex come off the one cushion Beyond the Black you've got a red above the pink that goes into the right middle so so this red is pex's frame ball it's got an angle on the blue to come back down the table like to obviously get rid of another red don't give a new any chance to come back to the table get this Frame done and dusted rather sooner than later and 50o Advantage with 43 on the table it's only two Snookers for it's a lovely shot there by beex done with making it tight but uh left rather easy red here for Beck so this should be frame one going towards the English woman's way wow that's another big confidence Builder there good blue at distance oh but she's gone in off there and new is just going to concede there anyway so beex kind of takes that first frame and we'll just step aside for a quick break and come back with frame two after this [Music] [Music] for and referee Dave Dy has reset the table we're just waiting a new to return from her Comfort break there she is and beex is set to break USU in frame two see if she can keep the momentum going or if I knew can stop the bleeding and get into this match and get her first frame on the board it's nice to see that there was some good tactical play in that first frame but definitely the players weren't shying away from some shots as this one looks like it's open there so a new with the first chance here right into the left middle black is open this is what beex did in the previous frame new didn't get here just by luck she's got some Talent behind her yeah talking to Matt hu earlier today just amazed by the talent pool that just continues to grow in this great Championship looking for a better split not touching ball I think that just rolled on just nicely enough for beex that cut is thinner than a thin piece of paper there really would test her eyes there if she was going to cut this into the side maybe it's a little bit more straight on than I think was then is there a pathway for this red see red into the left middle looks like like that's one Vex is eye up be mindful of that blackes out there by back interesting both of these players actually decide to put their hair in a ponytail or as We Know notice both have you thick luscious wavy hair and long just like actually mink and on but on and mink really tied up tightly so there's no chance of a hair foul for does she have an angle just to stun for that red that's on the left side just in the open there into the same pocket where this blue is going to find home she look like she's gonna follow through tough to find out all the angles sometimes on these monitors players have the best vantage point right down on the table it is true there's some little chat about uh Beck's Bridge you know really at the end of the day what is comfortable for you like nobody in their right mind would teach you how to play like the great Alex hurricane Higgins as he was jumping around on every shot twitching and turning but somehow he made it happen I have a little shot to nothing with this uh red to blow the uh cluster of five click it into the top left pocket but I don't think that green come to a rescue that red just rattling the Jaws w could be costly it's a thin thin cut for beex into the left [Music] middle for new just opting for the safety wanted to take on one of those Reds into tricky right middle pocket containing safety there for just ran on a bit too much for an new has kind of a shot to nothing again with this red out in the open that round just a little too much of it rather a little flick and Fuller in the face stops that QQ ball giving an new a chance at a long red in the top left corner wow what a shot there great long red developed the blast she could be in business here it's a little annoyance obviously with that red it's just in your sight line it just annoys you that much definitely thought about it a little there rled than the Jaws but did find the bottom of the pocket this looks rather straight she's GNA have to draw it back to get onto the black oh there was a bit of angle actually that she could go off the cushion for Ste yeah I got to do something here she coming around taking a look at that red that's on the right of the bunch there I don't think a red passes that other red into the middle she's making her opportunities happen for her negotiate thrill queuing over a lot of balls might just make it just a little bit more difficult but it is there natural angle is going to take her onto the right side of the blue no just the awkward bridging just was the trouble there so she's broken down on that 24 break but leaves the frame with 21 points 40 to 19 but beex has got an easy open here black in the open playing nice and solid she think she can clip that red just to the right of the pink into the top right pocket after this Al this blue is tough with the cube all up against the cushion there some philosophies obviously about when you're up against the cushion like that sometimes when you're doing your Feathering and when you're about to shoot just curl down your back AR hand you'll never uh Miss Q got a good angle to go into them here off this black she's giv her a chance couple Reds one into the top left one into the left middle There's real Elementary it's going to require some great queuing to keep it going point well some people might say why not the blue for Becks but comes down to its Comfort level that's for sure that green had dropped it's red by the pink is on on new is ey in it like to come just a a little bit lower on that black that made the black just that much more difficult but now that black is covered up that corner pocket it's a tough game when you have six Pockets open but now just only five makes it even more difficult I should put a bit of side this shot going on this red get three cushions behind that brown maybe there's a pathway by the black it's tough to see from this monitor look like beex thought there was oh this has a great line oh just a bit pacy very nice try by a new well that is exceptionally thin don't think she's going to take on that she might have got a Little Help from the brown just might have taken away the PT in angle devastating looked like I guess it was there she just couldn't pull the trigger there see the black is not a Surefire kimy that's for sure there are some balls that could obstruct it but definitely got to just make sure the red that's a way to do it find the gap what is this tight to the cushion there might just be a little bit of Gap there if it's tight on the cushion it makes it that much easier there might have been a little bit of space and when you got a ball tight to the cushion the philosophy is hit the with your Q ball hit the object ball and cushion at the same time and it will just hug that cushion and roll right down to the bottom of the pocket but if there's even like a millimeter off makes it that shot just very tricky this is a nasty tester she was she baited her into taking this red into the right middle close second frame here 4241 is the score line to beex Kenna of England 43 is on the table for that will do don't think there's a gap in between the blue and the green for the angle on that red and that's a tough one think she'll just be kind of taking the left side of this red went to the other side doesn't want this to go in that was close to an in off been disastrous for the women from India forunate enough it didn't find the bottom of the pocket left back's rather tight on this top cushion oh that's a great long pot there now just a little touch finesse shot here tight to the Brown well played very tricky those shots sometimes to time just not past the the brown didn't squirt out and give her a chance on the red and actually hit the red because it's devastating if you miss it puts a free ball and a foul in your opponent's hands it's good hit by an new left an easy one for beex war to take the pwn on just electing to play safe two points in at 35 on the table it's anyone's second frame here obviously beex would like to extend her lead to two frames to nothing and a new would like to put a frame on the board and tie it at one for just a little bit more roll those jaws can always help you but they can hurt you th cut does have to be a little mindful of the inof going into the yellow pocket but these players know the right top or bottom to put on the shot just to take away that thought of any kind of in-off now this is definitely a tough table where the green yellow and brown as Mary and McConnell likes to call it the family those colors always is usually grouped together that blue is definitely going to even make it more difficult from brown to Blue where it was before it was rather in the middle of the table but now the blue since the green has covered the blue spot the blue comes on the highest point value available in this case the black she was fortunate with that double kiss safety was always in mind there's a chance for a couple of cushions get near the blue here for beex she might squeeze up table create some distance between Q ball and object ball nice little rub on that black to slow the momentum of the Q ball the result is a snooker for beex Kenna the longer this Frame goes the more and more I think it's going to just have such an impact player that wins this one is going to be probably quite pleased with themselves beex will happily take a two-frame advantage if new can take it she levels the match maybe a change of momentum very nicely done but a raise of the hand and kind of playing that as a shot to nothing creating some distance but the result has been something there and it looks like Tessa Davidson has beat Maryann McConnell in the senior section of this tournament so another title for Tessa Davidson so if anyone's tuning in from Fast Eddies know she really appreciated that sponsorship money coming her way and she's done you guys proud by hoisting the title as the senior champion at this US Open great pot had to negotiate a little bit with that pink and blue put it in nicely still needs the blue and going green brown blue there's a lot of table to cover there this is going to be tough to get back down for the blue with this angle if there is any like a Jud Trump special here just a incredible screwback shot let's see how Beck's long potting is she's able to take this brown into the top left corner it's going to leave her a great opportunity she Trails by nine points and there's 22 on the table she gave it a chance and hasn't sold out so that's okay tries to double here just playing safe creating some distance she left it open but uh this is a definitely a tough long pot if it was to miss don't see a pathway for a new I think she's going to Cannon into either black or blue smart thinking don't want to risk anything is only the second frame but going down two nothing in a best of seven match is tough for oh very nicely done great Brown there she's got a blue deep into the green pocket she just going to try and play safe maybe find High spot behind that pink or come back behind the black tried to get behind the black but CS 13 in it 18 points on the table beex needs a little bit more roll she's left it out there new definitely needs uh blue and she should take Pink as well even the pink the blue drops and he doesn't get the pink I'm pretty sure beex will come back to the table only needing the one snooker there's the blue that she need and the pink for the frame let put all her concentration into this just opting for a little safe for here is the pink that's going to seal this Frame so Anu fights off beex Kenna and levels this match one frame a piece we've got a match in the semifinals frame three will be coming up just after this for for for e for to for for for for for for for for hey 16 16 for hey welcome back everybody sorry it seems like that in that very exciting second frame the call of nature hit all of us so hopefully able to uh take a break out there but we're back here in frame three a frame a piece for both these players so good important third frame is going to take the lead see if a new can continue that momentum from that last frame win very nice Saving Grace she does have that red over the left middle able just to put all our concentration on that blind black cut just does she play the stun or just gently roll off the cushion to be on the pink into the opposite middle she dances around kind of in the middle there the brown off his spot going in and out in and out of bulk on the blue isn't the the worse idea just got to negotiate with this red it's just in our sight line so it's a little bit of a nuisance AG rooky man 007 both these players got a frame on the board so they can kind of relax both feel like they're in the match just a little set with herself there just wanted to come back a few more inches be rather a little straighter on this pink so often than not we just see that player just like shrug and the head drops a little bit after just not getting Prime position after a red sure enough they missed their color ball we will have a treat coming up in our next frame Tessa Davidson will be joining me in the booth great to hear her insights senior Champion kind to hear a bit more of her story so if you have any questions get them ready for Tessa Davidson who joins us in the next frame [Music] nice Cut there is there's not much really after this blue and just made sure the points Five Points is Five Points increasing her lead to 37 points didn't want to Canon into that pink stopped all the momentum of her QQ ball he left a few choices there for beex for I both these players are going to be mindful of where the yellow and pink are unless there's some good hiding spots to get behind the opportunity presents themselves might be able to do some in here off three cushions see dun did well to avoid the in off is it always a threat there on that last shot nice Q ball there tight to the ball cushion we forc to uh back to hit one of these or I mean Anu to hit one of these Reds on the left side of the table those double kisses pretty sure those plenty of double kisses over there in the Paris Olympics but not a good time when you're on the snooker table Brown is just impeding the path for her there having a good look at it just trying to will the angle there Brown goes for sure obviously you know she'd like to get on the yellow because it's got a nice angle to shoot her down table did go but unfortunately she can it into the green and snookered herself behind the brown as you can see she wasn't too happy with that last shot great camera work by our team over here at Ox Billiards providing lots of angles for all our viewers out there tuning in whether it be Facebook YouTube or Twitch TV Ox Bard's page is where you're going to find the great action of this win sellers.com US Women's snooker open of 2024 question she's got just made it that much more difficult to negotiate that red cushion lots of things left beex a easy opener beex has got to get high on this black through that path the Cub's got to pull up it's going to be okay yes Butler McDonald this is the second semi-final the finals is scheduled for 4 pm but if this goes over it's potential I think there might be just a half an hour break between the conclusion of this match so if we did go to uh 45 Pacific time time probably the final will be 4:45 but as we get closer we'll definitely update you we want everybody to tune in to a what's shaping up to be a great final for good effort but unfortunately she's going to a little thin Cuts looks like there's a pathway for that green def like to get rid of that red by the black sooner than later I think she's going to come up the top cushion off this green play some of those loose Reds with the blue and just short of pace there more r or red say a shot to nothing feel to it great pot there ran a bit too much for her she wanted to pull it up have a easier blue does have the blue into the top left corner I think the angle all right for her to stun into it she should be on the red Above The Pink Spot but it's traveling a lot of distance that shot so that's why she's just taking a little peek at the yellow this blue is our frame ball like to get position on the some Reds and really bury it don't give beex a chance to come back into this Frame it's a little bit annoying there didn't Snick on this hopefully she can come up two cions come up the table she the idea there but that jaw just it's going to make get a long walk for her back to the chair beex does need a snooker always chances well of a free ball kind of surprised actually she didn't take the red that was below the black spot for giv beex hope but beex is just sitting in her chair she concedes that frame so Anu takes the third frame by a score line of 60 to4 and we'll step aside for a short break we'll welcome Tessa Davidson into the group or into the booth I should say the group and we'll be right back with frame four for and welcome back everybody to the wine sellers.com US Women's snooker open of 2024 Beck can of set the break off for frame four and I have the distinct pleasure to have the great the US senior Champion Tessa Davidson in the booth hello Tessa hello very pleased to be here excellent we're glad to have you in the booth so how are you finding the tournament first time in the Pacific Northwest yes yeah it's been fantastic the the hospitality from Mike and Jam at the club has been amazing and the facilities is really good tables are running um and it's been lovely to do a bit of sightseeing as well bit that in quite a bit into it yeah I think that's what we're kind of seeing more often than not you know is a large travel for you coming all the way from England so I think players that do that they kind of book it as a little vacation as well well yes I had to keep it quite short because of the cost but it's yeah it's been great to see some of the sites as well definitely so's just gone two one up that was a a tough semi-final L but you rebounded nicely to become the senior Champion I did yes I got over it in sufficiently yes on is playing very well at the moment it's lovely queing there from on so how did you get into this game of snooker Tessa obviously being a a Brit it's you know in the blood there my dad taught me and my sister when we were about 12 um he was he was a really good coach and uh he managed clubs in London um so we went to stay with him in the in the summer holidays and used to play in back in the sort of late 80s 247 um it was a fantastic time for sneaker very popular then woie man007 been tuning in all weekend long shows you some big support really happy to watch you play and that was actually your quarterfinal match last night was very exciting too yes yeah it went right down to the wire first frame I had a 58 break and uh and she clawed it back to a resp spotted black which I lost so that was quite a quite gutting for the first frame but I managed to sort of rally luckily won 32 and then when did it really take shape that you know your dad had introduce you to the game but when did you think of pursuing it competitively um I I started entering one or two women's tournaments um when I was sort of 18 and uh I went in for the UK at Willie Thorn's Club in Leicester in 89 and I was sort of quite a rookie really um and I won it uh I beat Stacy hilard in the final um and I thought after that you know just going straight in and winning the UK I um I started to play fulltime and throughout my 20s I played professionally on the women's tour and we were was travel involved and we were very lucky to go to India a couple of times and Europe and it was fantastic great here so we do have a question from Mark Williams but I don't think that Mark Williams not the professional but he asks uh do you still play the same game as you used to play before your break away from snooker I technique shot selection Etc or how has the game changed in that time that you have noticed um I think I've I think my technique is has been quite solid right from the start from when my dad taught me and that sort of enabled me to have that Foundation to come back to it after 20 odear Break um I don't think maybe I'm not quite as consistent but I've got back to a standard that I'm pretty pleased with you know I'm lucky in centuries in the club at back at home and um kind of mixing it with the top girls so uh yeah very pleased really and you've played in a place where many many snooker par layers just dream of playing in last spring you were at The Crucible yes that was amazing that was an experience I won't forget for sure so what do you see is an important factor to uh grow this great game of snooker what for the women's game I think the women's and I think maybe over as well over here in North America you know we're seeing a regrowth in Canada as they had a history of players in the game well I think I think more tournaments like this will encourage to encourage girls to playay play and um it would encourage more um Americans and Canadians to come coming enter the tournament uh the more we as the years go by it will become hopefully become more popular and we've had quite a good entry from the from the Americans and Canadians haven't we this year so we just need to build on that looks like You' kind of rekindled the friendship that you maybe had years ago with Maryann McConnell or is this the beginning of something uh yeah I mean I I don't know I don't know what they're actually played before um I think that might have been her first today she was playing a little bit before I started really I mean it was it was it was hard for her to come over to the UK all time compete but I I saw her on you know quite a few occasions back then MH we know you took a break to uh raise a family which is great to hear do you have boys or girls one of each one of each are they both cracking snooker players well no they're not they don't they play pool and Fred my son plays a little bit of sneaker but they're not really um not that interested in it they watch though watch me play we had a big contingency of uh people tuning in from Fast Eddies I'm sure if they're still on the stream yeah they've been fantastic um very supportive I mean without them I wouldn't have been able to put the practice in that I do and to travel over here theyve they've been amazing their sponsorship and uh table time back there also the um competition I get from the club players you know it's been brilliant we also have a league team there that I play in so great it's thriving good to hear where us are you based again in England it's near Oxford uh it's a town called bamry okay that's where fast Ed is is in bambur good Russell Jones is wondering he's from Wales and he practiced with a lady called Sharon Dixon who played lady snooker 56 so Sharon would be in her 50s do you know who Sharon is I do yeah Sharon was one of the uh one of my competitors that um back in the day when I played um years ago she was a very good Potter uh very dangerous player M very talented X has got a good chance here score a few points I think she needs to try and get her Rhythm back a bit yeah she was definitely flowing nicely in the fr first frame yeah then both players are kind of stumbling a little bit through that second frame so there's a red just below the pack if she can guess on that if it goes I can't see 100% whether it goes but if she can guess on it and it goes then she's got a chance there to open the pack up develop some more Reds she's tried to get on that so it obviously does go the US race course history group is wondering if this is the final it is not it's the semifinal our second of the day we know that on is already in the final she'll play the winner of this match it's a best of seven so if you want to get in the final you got to win four frames in this match it's David Bernie in the booth joined by Tessa Davidson all the way from England very accomplished female player so if you have any questions s i up so much excitement that passes that red well it did but that went from bad to worse so what is it about snooker that you enjoy well the competition okay quite competitive mhm I mean it's a fabulous game it's got so many aspects there's the safety side it's a bit like chess mhm it it requires a lot of skill so it's it's very difficult to um you know be on top form all the time so it's very challenging you always feel like you could do better I think that's the big thing about the game that's what keeps bringing your back you know that one shot you missed you know you can make it the next time it's I'm yeah it's been my passion great because what is the worst thing about snooker losing losing and are you involved in any coaching or are you just strictly a player I yes well I qualified as a level two wpbsa coach um a couple of years ago um I've done quite a few of the Q zones on the men's tour back in the UK um so that's kind of managing helping to manage with other coaches um a table where um where where all the um Spectators can have a go snooker on on a proper table like they'll see in the arena so that's that's been fun um and past edies I I coach some of the kids there but uh my other coaching has taken a bit of a backseat because I've been focusing on my comp you know competitive play probably know our good friend Chris Lovel yes Dynamite guy does a lot of great uh work with all the coaches throughout the glob he does he manages the all the Q zones and uh sort of directed the the uh coaching the level two coaching course ni shots quite tight to the B cushion it's quite difficult to get this safe find a PA back to bulk it's a good shot so has that very nice is that green crept into your mind if you're at the table just looking where it is as a nice hiding spot well it could couldn't it if you get yes it's definitely a ball for his nuk behind perect just asking what the high break is so far it's 90 with on she made it yesterday and Steven Blackman giving you some congratulations test on your senior's title thanks Steve Steve does my tips for me okay okay it's brilliant at it also Handmade by Joe 2020 giving some well done Wishes Always tough for some of these handles that people have we're not sure exactly who they are well I know yes I know and made by Jay he supports backs still got a nice angle on the brown to come back down for the minut let's get in Mind of a snooper player right now if you're a new what are you thinking right now you're at the table well it's a little bit awkward because the she's got to come back up for the uh Blue Area because the pink and black aren't on their spots but you know the reds are out in the open so she can just focus on one by one here there's another three Reds at least that she she she the open in the open should just come a little bit far on the bluefor can still make it though it slightly I've noticed actually a lot in this event a lot the women don't really like dilly d you jump around it's like you see the shot you go and you attack right yes yeah nice shot right now you are you thinking a few shots ahead what's your J con straight on the one ahead of you she would she would be she would be thinking about knocking a red out off the cushion they're they're not ideal it's going to be difficult work to make a break here but if she can't knock her R out she's going to focus on getting on that open red near the black spot balls are definitely placed awkwardly that one out Russell Jones is also wondering if you knew an Irish lady who used to come to Wales in the early days an anarie that ring a bell obvious I remember am faren but she wasn't Irish I don't think that's it's a big frame this one for both players M oh don't think she's going to like the result of that fan is warning wugi man007 is warning Tess if you could play anyone for the first time who would it be uh Jimmy white Jimmy white okay have you played many male competitors yeah I play um I like to play in you know I used to play lot in prams um and now I still playing uh mixed tournaments more amate tournaments in the back in the UK I just like competing really and also of course in the league so I'm the only woman in the oxit league okay any Rumblings that you might be in the mixed doubles well that would be lovely if they opened it's currently it's um it's just just a small number of players that playing it so if they opened it up a little bit more maybe to the top eight or six then yes I'd love to play in that good shot she's got a good chance there have you had the chance to play an new uh not yet not yet okay so this is good for your little research Mission yeah I think she's she's uh she's improving every tournament she seems to be getting better and better lovely shots yeah the standard is getting really high in the women's game yeah ratoya your opponent last night you know was a tough match that was it was tough yeah so 26 in front she just needs this red with one more color I think she's going to be playing a saf safety shot here that she's just left it so just this red and a color leave Beck needing Snookers it's a thin cut are you taking it on yes definitely she's overed where's the white oh oh that was unlucky so what can do with this quite a steal if beex can take this Frame side this match at two frames a piece but still a lot of work ahead of her come up a little bit short she just wanted to be the other side of that blue who do you find the toughest competitor is on the women's tour well at the moment I think it's on you yeah I think she's she's playing so well she doesn't miss much at all MH and when she misses she doesn't leave you an easy starter no the Green's the tricky ball isn't it she it old enough cut back it's quite a risk because if she misses it it's going to stay in the pocket good choice she got sneaker it's tough to tell from our angle it's a good shot oh she might leave this good chance now R you just two balls needed to clinch this Frame for 20 in 22 on the table new in the driver seat right now but frames can change in an instance as we've seen so many times she this chance here in the middle what are you trying to tell yourself when you if you're like behind by a bunch and you can see that there is a chance a slim chance but what is your mindset well focus on one ball at a time that's a good part just making sure the pot there that was the right shot to do because I guess if you feel the big task at hand you could get overwhelmed and that could just Cloud your judgment a bit yeah you just have to take one one shot at a time otherwise it can yeah be a bit overwhelming for right shots so an you takes a two frame lead definitely only one one frame needed to get into the final yet she's very close to that final but always the last frame is the more important one to win we'll see if she can do it when we come back with frame five e e e for for and we're back at the wine sellers.com usw women snooker open 2024 four important frame here new if she's able to take it she'll punch her card into the finals but beex Kenna wants to prolong this match and obviously she would love to see a decider she'll be carrying the momentum if we get there it's David Bernie in the booth and I'm joined by Tessa Davidson the senior champ over here on the American side you have any questions for Tessa does a lot with the game staunch competitor and proving to be a great analyst as well in the booth spotting some great shots there certainly been a lot of great shots to spot chance for long red here V beautifully C say's a few open red so she's got chance of um making a few points here good shot you'll just focus on mopping these few open Reds up and not worry too much about going into the pack at this stage I have to go up to the blue I think this so interesting in this game when your back is up against it more often than not we see players really come out and play well it's when you have to really dig in that was a good chance so do you deviate from the game plan at all if you're up 3-1 is there maybe shots you take on that you wouldn't have maybe at a 22 or down 31 yeah I think you could relax a bit more and go for few more shots definitely I think also like you were saying when when you backs against the wall that'ss um 31 down she's also going to be going for it a bit and they could if they start to go in for her then the match can still turn around she was a bit unlucky there she's not on the pink I don't think just a safety shot now just apologies we just had to readjust the score there that is correct so the reds are very open here if she can play good positional shots off this pink and get well on red she's um she's definitely with a good chance to score a few points looks like our good friend Jamie Hunter is nominating for the Tessa Davidson commentator fan Club she's really enjoying your brilliant comfortable and explaining everything exquisitly thank you Jamie have you played Jamie the first time no I haven't no so the black's a little bit tied up but um if she can keep keep around the pink should be suff sufficient for us to make a a good break here and is there anything that you say to yourself when you see the opportunity you see like there is a chance for a big possibly even frame winning break anything you say to yourself to calm down the mo one ball at a time mhm and focus on the pot don't try and over complicate okay I don't know Jimmy I don't think you were uh nervous in the booth at all when we had you in here a few years ago think anybody that comes in this topnotch Tessa Mark Williams is asking what do you think could help promote the women's game a bit more well I think more televised matches um is going to help just show more people that women you know there the standard is really improving lot of the um women's tournaments we there you know quite a few hundred breaks being made the standard is just getting better and better amongst the women's players so it's kind of if it's um it just helps to Showcase it more the more we're on telly I think that definitely is correct like getting it out there getting people to see it getting little girls inspired yes to pick up cues and stuff like that yeah you know I heard like you know people were over in North America sometimes complain well the women's basketball the WNBA is not getting these big salaries but then you talk to some of these people and they don't watch it so you know you got to support something if you want to see it grow yeah I mean it kind of goes hand in hand if once the prize money goes up more then that's going to encourage younger girls to take the take the game up I mean it's starting to increase but needs to be a bit better I think yeah I think as more and more we get more numbers watching this exciting game more corporate sponsorship would be like hey what's this all about might want to tune in and toss a few bucks yes yeah definitely Louise and Lori just saying congrats on my win thank you very much some friends from England fantastic it's kind a little messy down here at the top end of the table yeah there's quite a lot of tension out there at the moment I think yeah just looking at the audience everyone is just glued onto the table over here they know the importance of this match yeah this is Big Shot beautifully keed right in the middle of the pocket well Jamie I'm wearing my uh wws colors today full purple suit today the maroon is back uh back home in Canada you're looking Brave Dapper I must say oh well thank you I don't know if she has an angle here really to go into these Reds I don't think any go into the corner pocket so she might have to just play the pink and another safety shot off it so I think that's her plan it's not bad looks like Tess you have Jason the tie fan in here does that ring a bell youve been over to Thailand to play yes we we we played in Thailand in the world championships a couple of couple of years ago in Bangkok which has a fantastic experience last year of course it was held in changping and China so we get to travel about a bit great and the women's tour and that's a good point there Jamie thanks for chiming in it's just the permission to stream from the wsd the world snooker tour as it can overlap the main tour but hopefully uh you know people can continue to talk and we don't uh double up on events I know coming in the September 6 to 8th is going to be the women's UK Championship up in leads I believe yes great to hear yeah that's a great venue think if you just search on the world women snooker site you should be able to find a list of all the tournaments and as they get closer I know Matt hu does a great job of updating it and usually puts update if it is going to be streamed and where to find it yes and although we're showcasing our top players here there's um if you enter a women's tournament then um there's all standards so it's not something to be intimidated about you're everyone's welcome and there's around Robin uh to start with so you can get lots of matches there there's uh like I said there's different there's all standard so everyone can have um you know a good experience but you know what is honestly what I've seen a beautiful thing in this tournament is there is you know High ranked players in this event some lower ranked players some players that even picked up a que snooker q and you more experienced players are doing a great job of kind of just mentoring like you know in the the early stages you might see that you have an opponent that you're probably going to beat so you're not like really charging the foul you might say hey just so you know like your shirt did touch a ball that's going to be a foul so well we want to make it a good good experience for everyone regardless of the standard and um encourage people to come and give it a go really it it's it's a wonderful job all of you are doing I really appreciate it you know it's a it's about growing not going haha I'm better than you yeah definitely so she's 80 she'll probably play the red into the black here and run the white at the table hopefully guessing as Nuka that'll be in her mind she's got she got backs in quite a bit of trouble here now and use 18 points in front so there's a chance now tricky across the table definitely their chance big shortness is taking your time right in the middle didn't even need a jaw to think about it right I think Jamie also alluding just to exposure and that's just the key you know I tell some people back in Canada I'm going to Seattle to commentate on a snooker event I like snooker is this a dirty party trick that I don't know about so well his word spreads it's going to um it's going to uh grow Snuka for sure this part of the world so 22 points in front now she just needs two balls to go into the final looking that looking very promising so beex now needs one snooker two SN black isn't in the worst of sponse but uh she can put this brown and I don't know if beex is going to come back yeah it's going to be a global final here at the US open woman from Hong Kong and it looks like a woman from India X is still coming back to the table 31 the difference Snookers needed the black's not in a bad position for sneakers I to say sometimes you just need a little bit of patience you know you don't see it now but that's correct happy Wonder a lot of usually people tune in to snook to see the high breaks they sometimes can't understand the importance of a great safety exchange that's why we're here to educate everybody new and old yes that's what's so wonderful about it it's um it really is like a game of chess at timesh it's knowing when to attack and when to play defensively just have that switch in your head defensive defensive and then flick the switch turn to off and back to defense exactly Wonder many snooker players have a scrambled brain so I think an you will be having you go at this for now here's an easy snooker for on you we just put beex under under a little bit more pressure it's always good thing if your opponent needs Snookers put them in a snooker oh that might be handshakes there yes Round of Applause there new Pama Rach chandran I'm pronouncing that correctly has moved on to the finals with a 41 victory over beex Kenna we're going to be coming back at 4:00 for that uh final of this wine sellers.com usw women snooker open of 2024 Tessa it's been fantastic having you in the booth thank you it's been a pleasure definitely do come back and pay a visit I hope everybody out there enjoyed um yeah just a note on the commentary we are trying definitely to get more more women's events with commentators It's just sometimes when uh they arrive at certain venues uh there can be tough language bearers so baby steps we're working on it but we're glad that you're all tuning in to this great championship and we'll see you back here at 400 p.m. 4:30 I'm just being corrected by our uh streaming director 4:30 Pacific time out here on the West Coast tune in for what's fitting to be an exciting final take care everybody [Music] [Music] all right we're going to go and sign off thank you all for watching we'll meet you back here
