yo what is going on NFL fans welcome back to the J all day sports show in today's episode I'm going to break down for you all my favorite picks for your Survivor pool your knockout pool whatever you want to call it I'm going to give you the best picks for week one for that Survivor pool I'm kind of changing up altering my strategy a little bit as I kind of see what's happening where the big injuries are with these different teams right so as we get closer and closer to week one we have to make adjustments right you don't want to put your knockout or Survivor pool pick in too early you want to be able to adjust up until a day or two before kickoff I would stay away from that first game of the year anyway on Thursday and Friday actually I would stay away from both of those games so if your Survivor pool allows it I would not be putting my picks in until Friday or Saturday before the Sunday games all right let's talk about this Ravens Chiefs game the line at plus two and a half for the Ravens there's no way on God's green earth I'm going to take this game in Survivor but the Chiefs probably win this game in my opinion I think they're just a better football team right now but the Ravens did bring over Derk Henry from the Titans so that offense is going to be really interesting with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry they're wide receiver crew still needs a little bit of a upgrade a flowers can't do it all by himself but on the flip side the Kansas City Chiefs also lost lerus Sneed they're dealing with some injuries on the offensive line as well so this is a game I don't want to touch at all whatsoever now let's go on to the Packers and Philadelphia Eagles I think this is going to be a really close game unless the Philadelphia Eagles defense decides they don't want to show up and play like they did last year but I don't think that's true because Vic fangio is really going to have these Philadelphia Eagles prepared he's got weeks and weeks of time to prepare for this Green Bay Packers team and that young crew of wide receivers led by Watson they also brought in Josh Jacobs the running back from the Raiders who's like a few years removed from leading the NFL and rushing but the Philadelphia Eagles got quinan Mitchell in the draft Cooper Dee who looks like he's ramping it up a little bit he had that hamstring injury so and then the Packers interior offensive line is not the best so the teams kind of balance each other out can they cover AJ Brown and Devonte Smith the cornerbacks for the Packers I'm not sure with all these different variables I'm staying away from this game in my Survivor pool all right here's an interesting game that I don't know if you guys are on this game let me know in the comments below do you like the Bengals at home vers this Patriots team the Patriots have not labeled who the starting quarterback is just yet jacobe brassette or Drake May they're not 100% sure which way they're going to go but Vegas has the Bengals as minus 440 favorites the biggest favorites of week one but throw out Joe Mixon their offensive coordinator Brian Callahan is now the coach of the Tennessee Titans Tyler Boyd is also gone so can the Patriots in that defense they did just trade judon to the Falcons so that limits some upside with their defense I thought he was a really good player kind of went sour there with the Patriots so that's why they shipped him off to Atlanta but ninepoint favorites minus 440 money line you know if you have multiple teams in your Survivor pool laying one down on the Bengals probably isn't a bad idea the Patriots to win this game on the road they have no real wide receivers at all whatsoever I mean that wide receiver crew is as pathetic as it gets the Bengals defense is pretty good too so I like the Bengals I don't love it here's another really interesting them the Cardinals are plus 6 and A2 plus 220 right so look at this so only three extra points actually two and a half points but the money line is huge difference minus 340 there oh man the Buffalo Bills have a lot of moving Parts the wide receiver core is decimated there they upgraded the position in the draft the Buffalo Bills did bring in Curtis Samuel I think he was with the commanders last year he's a decent wide receiver but he's dealing with some injuries they're not sure if he's even going to be a go in week one so I'm not touching this game with a 10-ft pole if the Cardinals won this game snuck out a victory ran the ball down the bills threw it with James Connor I would not be surprised you got to remember the Cardinals got Trey McBride they got Marvin Harrison Jr now to go along with James Conor I'm not touching this game Houston Texans versus the Colts the Texans have looked great in the preseason CJ straal didn't miss a beat in the limited action he's had in the preseason I'm leaning more and more towards taking the Houston Texans in one of my Survivor pool picks I got 10 of them so I'm thinking about using one or two of them on the Texans in my league if you lose you can Reby back in and pick the Monday night game which is the Jets or San Francisco not a game I absolutely love taking week one but you know it allows you to take a little more risk that you might not necessarily take all right NFL fans the next game I want to talk about is the Jacksonville Jaguars vers the Miami Dolphins two has looked great this pre-season the wide receivers in that room are great the running backs are just as good with a chain and Company they're a very very good offense can their defense stop teams from scoring 20 30 points a game that's what will determine the success of the Miami Dolphins this year but the Jacksonville Jaguars have some moving Parts on offense they got rid of C Ridley they brought in Gabe Davis from Buffalo Evan Ingram is still going to be the number one guy on that offense the tight end I think he had like over a 100 targets last year that's going to continue in year two Trevor Lawrence got a lot of money Tua got a lot of money who will earn it in week one I'm not sure this is a coin flip game in my opinion I'm not touching this game with a 10-ft pole next up is another very close game in my opinion minus 11 10 both ways no real advantage over here Vikings at the Giants it's going to be a close game Sam Darnell will be the quarterback because JJ McCarthy is hurt he's done for the year the Giants added some help to the dline with Dexter Lawrence adding Brian Burns from Carolina their cornerbacks are still suspect it looks like Daniel Jones is healthy he played horrible in the first quarter but towards the end of that preseason game the second quarter where he was playing he started dropping some dimes in the bucket made some really good passes so I don't know what Daniel Jones shows up and when you have Dr Jackal and Mr highy Daniel Jones I'm not touching this game and Daniel Jones balls out with Malik neighbors one of the best if not the best wide receiver in this entire draft class he's been great all preseason long from a Survivor perspective I just don't like touching this game the Vikings on the road the Vikings are a very different team from playing in the dome then going outside and playing at the Giants in Jersey right not touching this game Titans at the Bears Caleb Williams has looked great but if you watch the tape from the second preseason game he struggled for the first three or four drives in that game then he started kind of getting out of the pocket making some things happen can the Titans lock him down in week one I don't know I doubt it I like the Bears in this spot not at minus four and a half but for a Survivor pool I don't know if I had one team I'm going with the Bears I don't think I could do that but maybe mixing in a Bears play here cuz I don't know how confident I'm going to be using them later in the year but man all those weapons DeAndre Swift Cole kment Keenan Allen romad dun DJ Moore oh my gosh I don't know if the Titans are ready to compete with that roster yet I like the Bears in that spot that's one of my picks Pittsburgh Steelers at the Falcons Russell Wilson and Fields have both looked horrible all preseason they're both not good can the Steelers defense keep them in this game against that high powered Atlanta Falcons offense I like Kurt Cousins in this spot because he plays a lot better inside than he does outside I think the Falcons win this game guys I really do can heith and Watt get in Kirt cousins lap we have to see both Kyle pittz Drake London I like the Falcons in this spot I'm not jumping to bet on this Survivor wise I'm going to pass but I like the Falcons in this spot we got the Panthers at the Saints another very interesting game some people are high on the Saints I'm not one of those people Survivor wise if you want to take the home team given Five Points it's not a bad spot for the Saints because honestly I don't know if I feel comfortable using the Saints at all the rest of the year so this might be a spot to pick one of your teams with the Saints but the Panthers won this game I would wouldn't be surprised but my sanders is hurt Jonathan Brooks isn't back yet they did make some additions to the offensive line Xavier get Legette the rookie is out there for the Panthers are they ready to compete with a pretty decent Saints defense I'm not sure I like the Saints to probably win this game here's the game that I'm circling guys Broncos on the road against the Seattle Seahawks the Ravens defensive coordinator McDonald is there being the head coach of Seattle he's going to bring that hard knows hit you in the mouth kind of Defense going against a rookie Bon knck but the Broncos on the first depth chart have Jarrett stum starting so either way whether it's b knck or Jared stum I like the Seahawks at home to win this game minus 225 is not bad juice there I don't know if the Broncos have enough weapons to deal with this Seahawks offense can they score enough points to keep up with Jack Jackson Smith and jiga Tyler Lockett DJ Moore Gina Smith is getting healthy I I like the Seahawks that's probably my pick of the week guys Raiders at the Chargers I'm going with the Raiders especially plus three and a half that's my bet I love plus three and a half for the Raiders Gardner minu has been tabbed the starter for the Raiders this game is probably going to be under this 42 and A2 point over under spread the Chargers are going to run the ball 25 30 times but the Raiders added Christian Wilkins to be paired with Max Crosby that D line is going to be coming after Herbert all day yo if I'm the Raiders I'm stacking the box and I'm making Herbert and the weapons that he hasn't been working with because he's been out most of the preseason dealing with that foot injury I like the Raiders in this spot from a Survivor pool stay away Cowboys Browns Survivor you got to stay away as well the Cowboys have a decent roster guys and the defense is really really good they could shut down Watson and this Browns offense for sure but I like the Browns offense with en joku Amari Cooper Elijah Moore I think that and Nick chub won't be back yet but the thing that really worries me about the Cowboys is that offensive line there's a bunch of injuries a bunch of rookies starting against miles garan company man they're going to stop miles Garrett I'm saying he's going to have two or three sacks in this game I like the Browns probably to win this game but it could be close and if the Cowboys won I wouldn't be surprised stay away commanders Buccaneers I like Jaden Daniels man I think he's really good Terry mclen is a great wide receiver but this defense is not very good Dan Quinn's not going to have them playing well till probably weeks into the season so you might want to take advantage of the Washington commanders early in the year Tampa Bay pretty much bringing 99% of that roster back to run it back for another potential playoff run at minus three and a half I think that's low that means the teams are pretty much even because most home teams get around three three and a half points from Vegas that's ridiculous that's just straight ridiculous I like Tampa Bay to win this game the Rams Lions I like the lions in this spot too guys honestly Matt Stafford's dealing with a hamstring injury I think it is puku is banged up Cooper cup is getting older I don't know if he's going to come back to be the Cooper cup of three or four years ago I like the lons in this spot I'm not I like other spots better but I do like the lines to win this game at home especially then we had the Jets at the 49ers right the 49ers have the best roster in the NFL hands down in my opinion that offense we'll have to see if Brandon auk suits up I like the Jets more if there's no Brandon iuk in the in the game for the 49ers because I really like the Jets defense and they could get after Brock pie but pie can do so many different things with KD and de and Christian mcaffrey if they're Blitz and he heavy they're just going to get the ball out fast right so i' like the 49ers to win this game my two picks that I really like the best are the Houston Texans the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and I love the Seattle Seahawks it's a very tough week one guys so make sure you're staying up with the injuries I'm here on the J all day
