listen this morning as I was waking up uh after a late night I watched JD Vance just walk himself into a band saw into a into a an ambush of sorts um hosted by CNN's own John Burman John Burman in this in these two clips I'm going to play for you are he's asking about the the appropriate Ness of Donald Trump sharing vile sexist misogynist memes that deal with um oral sex of of kamla Harris the meme is something like uh these two women have had their careers impacted but in totally different ways like just by a is is the is the theme and Donald Trump shared this along with a bunch of other dangerous Q andon uh nonsense and conspiracy theories elevating these dangerous domestic Terror adjacent idiots and he was asked about this and JD Vance has the tarity to say yes that lifts people up when he makes misogynistic comments about his prior political opponent and his current one you were talking about Donald Trump's social media would you describe his post over the last 408 hours is is is lifting people up quoting reposting qanon state stats reposting these misogynistic memes about vice president Harris and Hillary Clinton that's the kind of open discussion that you think is lifting people up oh John I think if you look at Donald Trump's full campaign appearances and yes his social media appearances what you see is two things a guy with an agenda to lower prices and bring back American prosperity and a political candidate who isn't stagy who likes to have some fun and likes to tell some jokes I'd much rather have a candidate who's willing to go off script who's willing to give every interview and is willing to tell some jokes I do think that's how you lift people up he thinks that that's uplifting he thinks denigrating a woman and claiming that the only way she has attained any power or success in her career in this country is through giving blow jobs how uplifting JD Vance it is remarkable The Depths to which these idiots will sink and allow them themselves to debase themsel just be debased by their lies and propaganda and bending the knee like cowardly sycophants lap dogs for Donald Trump who is alienating over half the country with this nonsense JD Vance no no no that's uplifting he's not stodgy he likes to have a little fun tell some jokes well this conversation let to the next JD Vance shared you may remember from a few years ago I believe this this Miss Teen USA contestant I believe she's from South Carolina she she stumbled through her way during the question and answer period of these goofy pageants save your emails pageants are weird they're weird and um when asked about education or what whatever she like blanked she kind of uh froze in the moment and went back to her training this is the way I've heard her explain it that they tell you to use phrases like such as and in it she's like and such as people should have maps and it just it's a it's a debacle it's embarrassing and in the aftermath of this she's talked about how this was one of the lowest moments in her life that she contemplated uh doing away with herself with try to save myself I'm already talking about I'll try to save myself and the the monetization of this video of unal living herself is I think how they phrase it on on Tik Tok this was a bad moment for her and now it's being revived by a man running for vice president of the United States where JD Vance shared this and said hey look everybody I got some Unearthed footage of KLA Harris's interview on CNN and it's this one so effectively he's saying hey KLA Harris is stupid just like this other stupid lady and when he's asked about it he refuses to apologize and goes with the same narrative about ah we're just we're just having some fun and and making some jokes watch disgusting JD Vance after CNN released a small clip of the Harris interview you on Twitter posted a clip from a Miss Teen USA beauty pageant from 20 2007 Caitlyn Upton and you wrote I have gotten a hold of the full kamla Harris CNN interview now this thing that surfaced around the internet for a few years um she had you know she struggled answering a question back in this beauty pageant I'm not sure you're aware in 2015 Caitlyn Upton did an interview in New York Magazine about all the social media attention this clip got and she said I definitely went through a period where I was very very depressed but I never let anybody see that stuff except for people I could trust I I had some very dark moments where I thought about committing suicide so when you posted this last night were you aware that the woman you were posting a picture of had contemplated committing suicide for the attention had received no certainly not John and my heart goes out to her and I hope that she's doing well look I've said a lot of things on camera I've said a lot of stupid things on camera sometimes when you're in the public eye you make mistakes and again I think the best way to deal with it is to laugh at ourselves laugh at the and try to have some fun in politics I posted a meme from 20 years ago and I think the fact that we're talking about that instead of the fact that American families can't afford groceries or Health Care uh young families can't afford to buy a home to raise their families in those are the real crisis that we should focus on and there's nothing that says that we can't tell some jokes along the way while we deal with a very serious business of bringing back our public policy politics has gotten way too lame John way too boring you can have some fun while making a good argument to the American people about how you're going to improve their lives okay I just want to be clear though you said you didn't know would you like to apologize to Caitlin up for posting that last night given what you've now learned John I I'm not going to apologize for posting a joke but I wish the best for Caitlyn I hope that she's doing well and again what I'd say is one bad moment shouldn't Define anybody and the best way to deal with this stuff is to laugh at ourselves but you're not laughing at yourself JD Vance you're laughing and poking fun at someone else about possibly the lowest moment of their life if this was your child or a family member whose most embarrassing moment so embarrassing for them that they contemplated checking out and you're going to oh we're making jokes my heart goes out to her he says yet I'm not going to apologize for my jokes like you're some kind of a comedian you're not running to be the the the the vice comedian of the United States of America I hate to break it to you JD but you're running to be vice president you're running to represent a constituency that contains over 330 million Americans and you're not funny as it is you punkin headed freak we're just trying to have some fun in politics y'all with no regard for the emotional state or the struggles of this girl who I've read is like a Maga die hard so not only are you alienating women in general you're alienating one of your own voters you it just shows just how heartless the Maga movement is it just shows where the Republican Party fundamentally is in this election cycle it's as though they want to lose it's like they're trying to throw in the towel they're just giving up at this point and trying to I guess attract even more a hideous cross-section of America I don't get it
