a New Hampshire resident has died from a rare mosquito born illness State Health officials say the person tested positive for Eastern acin sephtis in sephtis that is which is transmitted by mosquitoes to infector transported transmitted that is to people from infected mosquitoes the adult was hospitalized with severe central nervous system disease and later past ee is a serious infection that causes flu like symptoms and can invade a person's brain and spinal cord the Centers for Disease Control and prevention says there were only about 11 human infections reported in the US each year neighboring states Vermont and Massachusetts also have identified cases there is no targeted treatment or vaccine for Eastern equine en sephtis
