this year go to the Super Bowl and beat the Chiefs we we have the same prediction actually Jordan love and the Packers to win the NFC and him to be the MVP Jeff let's stay in that game Jeff Darlington will the Eagles Fly or fall after last season's Collapse by the way you and tanon bomb are both nuts on that one but let's talk about the Eagles because I think they're like one of those really big birds that has trouble getting off the ground but eventually flaps their wings hard enough and just above the tree line they will fly they will fly they will perform the miracle of flight they will just do so in a manner that makes us still wonder are they last year's team at the end of the season or are they that one that made it to the Super Bowl they got to get their confidence they got to get their chemistry they got to find a way to fly a little bit higher we'll start to find out that's a a really fascinating Friday night uh week one opener Green Bay and Philadelphia all right swagu let's talk about your Cowboys we had all this drama the offseason Dak all the rest of that we are moving on from that today we are officially turning the corner to the season on this program will all these things here's the question will all of this derail their season they got a season to play here before anything gets worked out with their quarterback or anybody else will all the nonsense that has swirled around them will it derail their season no it won't derail their season cuz we determin gray Seasons by going to the playoffs and possibly winning a championship they not going to do that anyway uh make the playoffs they should G Remember You Ed that term scar sterf with Aaron Rogers a few years ago I think that'll be Dak Prescott I think Dak Prescott will play pissed off great football this year uh the weapons we talked about CD lamb is back in the fold uh obviously it ain't the best offensive skill position group in the NFL but he does have a receiver in the tight end and Jake Ferguson who I think is going to be really good the back field of Dalvin cook and obviously Ezekiel Elliot hopefully they can do that by committee but this is about Dak Prescott individually last year I said Dak Prescott is going to have to play at a certain level for Dallas be a good team and have a chance to go win a championship he actually played at an MVP level last year during the regular season to me Dak has he's had a kid he's unfiltered he's not worried about what's being said he's tired of hearing certain things that are being said by ownership and people around the organization I think Dak goes play as free as he possibly can this year and he has a really good season and then he walks the dog and go somewhere else and get $60 million well we'll see I mean you just mentioned the that running back room may be the best in the entire NFL if this was 2019 the running backs are ridic what what are we doing here people Jeff you you have throughout this summer expressed more confidence in the Cowboy season than most people you like them more than most people that I've talked to have I do I mean I think part of it too is that we've talked all offseason about the drama of potentially not having Dak and Sidi and Micah Parsons well guess what all three are going to be the week one so to me this is I I understand there are differences from last year I get all that but I just remember a team Midway through the season and I know again I have to put out a caveat here Midway through the season doesn't win you Super Bowls but they were playing at such a high level on offense they did fail in the postseason nothing really matters until we get to the postseason but I still think that this team is very very capable of winning the division of getting into the dance and then exercising the demons there's a lot of meat there I just think that this is still a very good team they're a two and a half Point Underdog Sunday at Cleveland what do you think they're going to win the game I agree with swagu for all the angs of the Dak Prescot situation he's going to play great he has 60 million reasons why and by the way deshun Watson's played in 12 games as a Cleveland Brown in two years yeah yeah I mean the Browns have a lot more offensive questions but they had arguably the best defense in the entire NFL last year that is one of several fascinating but now people are asking if the game has quite literally passed him by based on the Rules of Engagement what's the answer to that the answer is the gap between Clemson and the best team in the country is exactly what the score indicated so the answer is yes Kirby Smart has found out the perfect remedy for how to use the transfer portal you don't have to go Dion Sanders and get 41 players in there but you do that if your Lincoln Riley in your first year Deion Sanders in your first or second year and you want to shock your roster Kirby Smart figured out how to do use the portal but also what davo wants get those high school players in develop them and have them in your roster being major contributors down the stretch but yes he Kirby Smart said this after the game Kirby Smart said national championships only two if you look at the string of 10- win Seasons he's had up until last season where he got to nine we make it sound like dbo is has been terrible for years those two national championships weren't that long ago Paul and so when we talk about dbos Sweeney all I'm saying is this can we act like this guy is one of the all-time greats because he is and so they're not I'm not used to this I haven't been on this show come in we're digging a grve for LSU now we're digging a grave for dbos Sweeney all I'm saying is if dbo Sweeney is a problem he is a problem that about 120 schools would love to have right now because he has won national championships you not terrible going to make a lot of teams look like this this year let me say that do this to a lot of teams I hear you but Joey I have to push back he set a bar there by turning them into a perennial National Contender right it was him and Nick Sabin I remember doing topics on this show has dwe surpassed Nick so and now because he's choosing to run his program differently than literally every other coach in America we're asking can you win that way that's what I'm asking you what's the answer to that okay so we are absolutely going to find that out what I am wondering is how long are these other teams going to be a to keep up winning that way because there's a lot of checks going out here greeny and a lot of people are not winning national championships and so I'm wondering how long these other schools going to be able to keep W in these checks and not winning national championships two of which dbos Sweeney has won now years ago when when we used to watch Alabama Nick sa used to complain about these fast-paced offenses and was like man I don't like it I ain't going to do it I think it's unhealthy and then he figured out hey I better start doing that cuz everyone else is doing it and he found a way to win all I'm saying is D can we give dbo some time Paul before you dig this grave can we give you some time it ain't it ain't been bad for that long well it's been bad for long enough 21 22 23 where's your quarterback where are your wide receivers de who decides important because it's the one of the Premier jobs in the country and dabos Sweeney was not even given an interview and and and by the way for those who don't know Davos Sweeney has a degree and played football and won a national championship at Alabama my my point here is that the top schools don't want anything to do with him for this reason he will not B he can stay at Clemson for a long time although I hear from Clemson fans they're frustrated too no they're not firing Davos Sweeney but they're fed up with his stubbornness and this is this is now about a four or five old topic and all he has to do is adjust and that program can return to the top of the ACC but as long as he is stubborn they will not they will not return to prominence and Shannon used a good analogy here which was to coach Kay coach Kay recognized that that the Rules of Engagement had changed and he adapted Nick Sabin as you pointed out Joey did that repeatedly the question is does dbo have to do that in order to compete in a in in a in a on a playing field where everyone else is doing it I'm told Marcus has been listening and is is dying to jump in Marcus go it ain't no question he he he has to do it if he going to win championships because the teams that are doing it are winning championships those are the ones that are consistently having success right now the top teams in the country I'm sure transfer reporter has been a big part of the program I understand what Joy is saying Joey you fighting for coaching acument I know what you're saying about dbo I hear you clearly you fighting for his acen as a coach we all believe that thato can coach but joy you you can coach them little third graders that can't tie their shoes and spit at the same time and they going to get beat to sleep by that young pee football team with them dudes that's going to play really good in middle school and high school this is about the players bro and I I say this all the time I've been saying this for years every great coach has four or five of them dudes banners hanging up in them stadiums that was directly tied to what they were doing for Dabo years ago it was Trevor Lawrence it was all of those those
