okay podcasters we have a fabulous cast I'm Eugene levies I'm EV longor Oliver this is Zach G oh yes Zack galif frag jistic of course I see what you're doing so good after the shocking events at the end of season 3 of only murders in the building our favorite Trio Charles Oliver and Mabel head to Los Angeles where a legendary Film Studio intends to adapt their true crime podcast into a film and joining us now is Steve Martin Selena Gomez and Martin schz hi guys hello hey uh I cannot get over how funny this season is and of course the amazing incredible cast members that have joined so Martin I want to start with you you're Canadian I'm Canadian we got to talk about Eugene Levy joining this season he's recently said that you're his best friend how special is that relationship well I knew Eugene from University I met him in 1970 that's when I met Eugene and we did plays University I've known him forever and um his children grew up with my children and he's always brilliant and he's also I I I observe their relationship they're just it's been 50 years 60 years they're just kind of laughing with each other it's just completely relaxed you know it it's just like a joyful playground relationship a I love hearing that uh Steve for you what was it like a assembling this new Incredible cast for season 4 well it's the sum total you know I had worked with Eugene before i' had worked with Merill before worked with anybody else that I can think of but I've worked with you before and uh you know we it's just there you know we're so lucky that all these um big stars that came in to do our show are big stars for a reason meaning they're really good and they haven't you know put off the entire community so they'd never be hired again it means they're nice funny happy people that are really welcome our show good I love hearing that uh Selena this has been an amazing year for you you won best actress I can for Amelia Perez and then the Emmy nomination how special was it you to receive your very first acting Emmy nomination for this series um honestly I uh I was so excited I didn't really believe it at first somebody said congratulations on a text and and I said well for what and then my team had called me and it was just it was so surreal it it's really nice to be recognized and I didn't believe it either when they told me Marty was nominated um well for you to then how special was it when you found out Selena got nominated for the show uh you know what she's been deserving it so so long uh and you know I always feel there's a game of catchup you know going on like you know the first season you establish yourself the second season everybody starts to notice it takes time to get this cache and finally you know acknowledg how important she is to the show because I always see here's I I look at a scene between the three of us I go goofball okay anchor is what I'm saying oh yeah really Selena have you heard him call you the anchor before that must be nice to hear actually I love that that's I'm going to start saying that she's oh great thank you that was very okay you know when we watch the through ofie together in any scene we're always giggling we you guys just have the best chemistry together Selena uh we always want to know what's going on behind the scenes have you taught them anything new about pop culture recently no not anything recently um just cuz I've been behind and I haven't seen these guys in a while um and now what else well I mean uh Selena keeps us a breast on what's uh that just was an interesting word just a word to made people no Selena Keeps Us current let's put that way but equally I love just that we make each other laugh like this this is what it's like every day on set it genuinely is lovely Selena how do you describe uh the chemistry between the two of you I mean from the show to this cast how different has this whole experience been for you I'm I'm just so I think they've taught me so much whether they realized it or not I just think they're they're incredibly kind people professionals they they're you know best friends and I just respect them so much um they make me laugh about things that I worry about in my head and it just it's a it's a great it's great to have them in my life ah it's very important having the people in your life who can make you stop worrying well congratulations on the new season uh it's it's like I said it's so funny thank you very much bye bye bye only murders in the building is available on Disney plus right now
