away officially from cutdown day when the the initial 50 3 has to be Set uh that's going to be next Tuesday we we thought we would put together a little speculatory surprise release for the Arizona Cardinals because it happens every year right like this time last year right after joint practices I was trying to stay at a luxurious Airbnb spa likee place with my wife over the course of a 36-hour period and then ping ping ping oh Isaiah Simmons has been tra away for a ham sandwich oh Josh wabs is an Arizona Cardinal oh Josh Jones is out of town remember that that famous what was it a Friday when the Monty Austin for and the Arizona Cardinals made three transactions that foot That Shook the Arizona Cardinal landscape to its core I feel like well I don't expect three trades in one day I feel like we could see something like that next week you do you think he's going to be wheeling and deal I mean I know he's never content never complacent always wanting to get Surprise cuts better and put the roster in better shape than it was the previous day and going forward but uh yeah it's it's you're not in the I don't feel like we're we're in the same mode we're like okay who are they gonna kind of show the exit to as much as we were last year because I think there was a lot of baggage left over from the previous regime to where now they got a lot of their guys in place and they can want to kind of see where they can go from here but you're right I I think that you know if if the the opportunity presents itself uh Monty Austin port won't hesitate to to go take you know some castoffs from the other teams going from 90 to 53 to make himself better and you know the time between now and then is when teams are starting to shop those guys everybody like this video you guys this is a special Tuesday because this time next week we will know the cut down to 53 we're pretty sure right it can happen on Monday bleed into Tuesday a little bit we anticipate some transactions it's always diyo for that segment about three to five guys at the bottom part of the Rost they can't sleep easy because they might make the cut down and then waiver claims come into play or there's a trade acquisition or there's a free agent that the Cardinals May pursue but with that being said we put together a list of and we're not rooting for this to happen but a surprise or two or four cutdowns that could happen this time next week that maybe we're preparing everybody for or we're just having some fun in the process yeah mine is I don't have a whole lot of conviction in my too not to you know it doesn't mean a to out um but I I think that there's certainly a possibility yeah uh that these two players are um cut from the roster to get to the to the 53 you know I I think we're gonna see I think it's inevitable I think we're gonna see like Aaron Brewer get cut again to create roster space to to navigate that and then bring they'll bring it back because nobody's gonna go and and get a a Long Snapper we'll probably see that move again uh it's going to be a tradition unlike any other as long as Aaron Brewers is this team's Long Snapper going forward but uh yeah you know my two picks you know and we'll get them to them here shortly um I I think our guys that have been that were brought in by the by Bonnie osport Jonathan Ganon have a lot of respect from those two guys and their teammates alike and other coaches and very easily could be on the roster at this time next week um maybe I'm just bracing myself to say hey I'm not that clueless but you know I think that there's there's a chance that you know with some preseason performances that these guys could be some tough luck Cuts Cardinals by the way just dropped uh their final depth chart ahead of the preseason finale we're going to bring that up here later in the show uh and I'm gonna task my co-host to see if there are any changes because uh you know look at there's nothing there's okay well then the only the only changes are the additions of the players that they've added you know since the the previous dep chart but like Michael Carter remains you know fifth on the dep chart at the running back position and you know I was I was just kind of cross referencing the previous two depth charts and it's it's about they're almost carbon copies outside of just couple new names on there wow certainly anticlimactic now looking at that producer Damon go ahead and rip that to shreds we don't have any interest in seeing that dep chart according to BU Brock how about some surprise cuts for the Arizona Cardinals Who's Stan who who's going here our fabulous four that could be on the bubble let's check it out Damon dog again both picked two and I pick two and guess what Johnny Boy to is at the same spot I'm gonna go ahead and predict right now a surprise cut the Arizona Cardinals cut both quarterbacks I think they move into this weekend if they get a lackluster performance again from Could Tune & Ridder both be cut? Desmond Ritter certainly he has gone and Clayton ton maybe you feel better about his opportunity to come back on a practice squad clear through waivers but there are going to be several quarterbacks of note potentially made available after this weekend would the Arizona Cardinals like last year opt to remake their QB room on the Fly I mean this is a this is a group of coaches Executives people handling Personnel that traded excuse traded for Joshua dobs and then simultaneously cut Colt McCoy before everybody gets out their pitchforks and says no way they could do this this was the only show this time last year that said dobs is going to start check the tape for everybody else in this media Market that said no Colt McCoy's gonna play in week one and dobs doesn't have enough time BS they they made a brass move last year when they had to I I'm not saying I'm rooting for this I like Clayton tun I hope he sticks around but it would not surprise me if they're just like you know what guys we need a veteran we need help at other positions we can't carry three quarterbacks Clayton tune you'll be up and down emergency QB but I I think regardless Desmond Ritter's time with this team a week from today the the tune thing would be surprising to me Ju Just to and to make way for I know that you'll see a lot of quarterbacks find their way uh to to waivers and cuts next week but I I you'd have to think that the person that would back up Kyler Murray would have to have some sort of experience in the system and like who who who out there exists with that that insight and I think that Clayton ton like he hasn't played poorly he hasn't you know um taken a few steps back like I think a lot of people would argue that he's taken a you know a step forward in in his development and I think that you know from what we were talking to you know people around this organization they think that he has the ability to be a backup in this league for years to come it would be kind of strange like that has there anything been anything egregious this this training camp this preseason that says hey Clayton tune this this is too much for them and that they just need to cut bait well hear me out I do their do their expectations change for what they need out of a backup now on this roster based on what Clayton tune can provide to them and what he showcase because I feel like maybe it took this front office and I have no evidence of this I'm literally just making it up as I go but with the state of this team and the fact that your quarterback is not participating in the preseason there's an emphasis to keep him healthy like I understood why they traded for Desmond Ritter while it's it's blown up their in their face collectively has not worked out get a guy in his mid to late 20s or even his early 30s to come in here and back up KY the Murray that can help this franchise keep the boat steady for one to three games I could understand that from a Ritter perspective Clayton tune remains in my opinion a long-term project definitely worth investing in I mean I'm sure Josh wabs his second year in the NFL we saw it on display wasn't pretty right it's why a lot of people kind of rolled their eyes but he's had enough time he was in his late 20s last year when the Cardinals acquired him and he was ready to perform for what the Cardinals asked I just feel like right now with the Arizona Cardinals you want to make Clayton tun an emergency quarterback I'm fine with that carry three on game day the back up above this team right now if you're asking somebody to go out and compete and keep the Train on the tracks certainly Desmond Ritter has dropped the ball he has not been able to Showcase he has any opportunity to do that he cannot make basic throws he is the short to intermediate passing game which I thought was one of I don't disagree with Ritter yeah but so if you're removing Ritter from the equation that means you need to go out and get another veteran to be the true backup to Kyler Murray who I I don't know who that would be we we've speculated there are some options out there and then I mean it wouldn't shock me if tune is made available to waivers he goes through waivers he's put on the practice squad like do you believe somebody would put Clayton tune on a 53 man roster bow uh I don't think right away I mean I I think he's probably somebody that's more fit for a practice squad outside of this organization but that that's why and Clayton tune and quarterbacks like Clayton tune make it tough for him to go immediately find work to where those like okay we're just gonna pick you right up and insert you into our quarterback room on the active roster it's because I think a lot of organiz ganizations are out there like you have quarterbacks that have gone through off seasons and spent multiple years in your system and there there's value there that You' you've spent time developing them and I think that there's value to to coaches that like that's why I think tune sticks around uh just because you gotta have a buffer you you're gonna have to have a buffer even if you get somebody in here that you like in the long term is you know the more what who you view as Kyler Murray's primary backup in the interim you got to have somebody that has some knowledge of the system and it's like last year like we were connecting all the dots and like Monty Austin for had uh you know ties the Joshua dobs that the you know his the tenure that he had in the front office of the Tennessee Titans and and petting had him in his quarterback room we were tipped off we were told they had interests last year right exactly no doubt about it then you had like now it's a little bit tougher to do that now that the the coaches have been here like it's not Jeff Driscoll right because they didn't view Driscoll as a better option than ton they are they ton already won that battle he fed that one off I I I saw somebody uh put DTR in the chat well Super Chat let's highlight this potato bread 199 bow he's seen the Browns are trying to trade DTR what are your thoughts on that you're a big DTR fan you were a big DTR I'm blowing your like former UCLA project for all those that are anointing B Knicks uh they have certainly forgotten about the uh the historic run in the preseason last year from from DTR my God uh they he was like the hottest thing in in the NFL it made dos Expendable it's like oh we are set at the quarterback position and he got in there in regular season play and absolutely got picked apart um but the guy give the buy a break two years ago at the combine he had the same Podium time with like Anthony Richardson and CJ strout and nobody was talking with him and we went over there break yeah and I was I he wanted to be an Arizona Cardinal he said I'd love to play with Kyler Murray so I was rooting for DTR and then he was lighting it up in the preseason I I'm a fan of DTR and then in the regular season he uh throws four picks in M sa six times what did Clayton do what did Clayton do against no I know that but here's the difference though to my point like there's there's knowledge of the system for Clayton tun right Clayton tun was picked at one selection ahead of DTR and the 2023 draft it's like they might Rost if if they view DTR as maybe a a solution down the line they might roster them but they're not going to just cut both Ritter and tune and then just start fresh to start the season because you're one play away you're one play away in the opener against the bills to to somebody having a pull off what Joshua dobs did in in Minnesota I mean not not so you know dramatic I mean they'll get you know a week and a half worth of work but it's that's tough we'd have DTR and DTD on the team that'd be pretty cool uh MV saying uh DTR stay away from my team uh I I like DTR here's where we were robbed of like DTR during this time of the year because that's when it's fun to have a DTR yeah I haven't had much fun watching this offense and the quarterback play this preseason and the crescendo of that takes place Sunday in Denver uh which we will cover uh Rudy saying announce yanuk and daway to the Cardinals I wish I could brother I've tried to manifest it into reality it hasn't happened yet um let's get to your two cuts because you like again if they cut tune I would definitely be open and see a pathway for him to return but like if they let's say that they both perform below expectations Sunday and the Cardinals are just like this you know what we feel like we can do better let's get a couple vets in the house we'll try to get tune on the back end Ritter is gone regardless like I don't think it's the craziest thing in the world to suggest that they both cut right let's Sayes yeah these aren't cuts that we're like I think that these are gonna happen like that that's not what we're doing I'm not the guy quote tweeting you saying you know what I've heard the same thing you know what that is what I've been hearing that's gonna happen right there it's like oh [ __ ] Mr I'm gonna well actually you on Twitter right it's like when you look at the Arizona Cardinals Ross like when we see I'm not coming to you here on a Tuesday uh the week before final cutdown and saying hey I think Elijah Wilkinson's uh job security might be uh it's it's in a tough spot like I don't think he's going to make like you guys would be like Source on that bro yeah somebody would say they would they would respond with no [ __ ] so we're trying to give you something a little bit more like where if our Jaws are dropped on the floor like oh my God they did this but I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibility like people are pushing back on KRA Clark like K Clark fell out of graces with with this team you know in the middle of the season last year he did work his way back into it and playing high volume of snaps but then you look at the numbers crunch that is the defensive backs room like they they love ke trell Clark ke TR Clark forced to Fumble on Saturday but like we've seen guys make plays in the preseason before and that's not the all you know be all say all I mean I think you know ke TR Clark like where does he fit in because I'm looking at how many special team snaps he played and it wasn't a whole lot so like where's his value coming if he's not going to see the field if he's going to be like a true of depth piece then you know I think that this team might you know go with a player that's more versatile and can play you know a couple different areas like teams for the Arizona Cardinal and can shift into the defensive uh secondary well and again like at some point your roster has to be in a position to make difficult decisions like this otherwise it's like yeah let's just give everybody a spot that is you know a darling of the preseason or was with us in the tough times and I'm sorry we we mentioned this on what a previous show it was not a good weekend for ke TR Clark the weekend of the NFL draft and through no fault of his own they added three cornerbacks and they added two on day two alone and they have Taylor demerson a fourth round safety who can cover I don't know if you guys have been watching him like a corner like they have options now Starling Thomas I think has a better skill set for what they want to do clearly he's vined for starting opportunities so I KRA Clark is an NFL caliber Corner that deserves to on somebody's 53 man roster and if he gets released probably going to get picked up so good on him and he made that happen for himself last year but like we talked about it yesterday like if they want to carry five quarterbacks and they want to carry an extra safety or want to carry an extra Edge rusher like they can make that work but right I I just kro Clark is not going to in my opinion be Vine for for starting time defensively so you're really you're cutting kro Clark because you think somebody else is better on special teams or you're going to a little thinner there like your starting cornerback group does not consist of ke TR Clark it is Shawn Murphy bunting Garrett Williams Max Melton eventually Starling Thomas who has really helped himself and then you've got multiple safeties now elah Jones who again he's gonna be grandfathered in welcome young man after being a top you were a top 100 pick you're on the roster that's how it works it's just how it goes yeah and it it it doesn't like in this hypothetical situation that doesn't end Clark's you know his his tenure with the franchise I'm sure if if he were to slide through waivers they would absolutely put him on the practice squad he's a he's a guy that comes in high-intensity guy has done everything that's been asked of him and then some from this organization I'm just looking at you know yeah now you start to look at where guys were drafted but because they were drafted by this regime you know where the free agent dollars went where the Snaps are going where the PT is going and you like that that's where I'm trying to like figure out okay I'm not going to give you guys who are you know on the bottom of the roster that are playing hot you know a ton of snaps in in pre-season and just like or or Wilkinson who's who's just had a brutal start to his preseason and that's on the heels of a rough 2023 season like these are these are guys that you know that would it really would be eye openening if if they were you know sent pack and you know that that I also I think goes into my next guy in Amari derado is just like the number Crunch and you know I saw somebody put it in the chat and I completely agree with them and we've been saying this on the show where you know Michael Carter needs to make this team and if Michael Carter doesn't make this team he's gone like he's not gonna sneak through the waivers like the Dallas Cowboys would pick him up yesterday if they could uh I mean I I saw them you know some of the on the fantasy football show you know some of the running backs that they have in that room and and they have to view them as like uh high volume you know snap play like players for them it's absurd Carolina would pick them up there are probably like 10 teams in the NFC alone right so I think that's where you know you have the advantage with demado to where you can maybe slide him through even though I'm not that confident with him just because you know he's been productive and and they've been so complimentary of him and I think that uh you know Michael Carter just should have the etge just because he's shown it and he's proven that he can make plays uh and and kind of energize an offense that that uh you know needs it so I I like everything that derado does and I just think that he would be fall victim to you know this team not carrying five running backs yeah let's look at the graphic one more time if we could Damon dog to recap here we're going with the both QBs or at least I am and then again like I think Michael Carter should make D Marcado or maybe DJ Dallas Expendable I think DJ Dallas helped himself though against the Colts where he looked a little bit better was a Return Man and man they just gave him a multi-year contract they're going to want to see that through whereas de Marcado fair or not undrafted and then kro Clark I mean they stole Starling Thomas last year as a sixth-rounder I mean kro Clark that kind of cancels itself out but um you know at the end of the day guys like the Cardinals roster this is kind of one of the The Growing Pains if you call it of having a roster with so many rookies on it they are going to give these rookies from this class that were drafted every opportunity to come in and compete and if you were a part of last year's regime fair or not and you have not exceeded expectations met expectations and you're put in a position where you're getting passed by I mean that that's a tough that's a tough reality and the good news is is like everybody on this list let's say all four are cut everybody else is gonna get an opportunity like all four of these guys are going to be on an active game day roster U minus maybe Clayton TB but again I I you know I tend to agree with my co-host that eventually I think he's going to find his way back to Arizona if he is cut but like Desmond somebody pick up Desmond Ritter like they'll say you know what just not a good fit he's got starting experience he was traded for this off season we'll pick him up right d Marcado it will be on somebody's active NFL roster based on his play last year but those are position groups right now outside a quarterback where a lot of competition running back and you can make an argument running back and then just DB in general two of the deepest position groups on the team with both veteran talent and then a bunch of young guys that are and ready to compete so be interesting to see how it shakes out I anybody you almost added to this list uh well DJ Dallas but again I I stepped if DJ Dallas had had a bad game Saturday I was I was ready to bury him this week and I didn't uh but in terms of like a surprise since I have this depth chart up in front of me that we're not going to review I'm G look at it real quick here I mean like nobody in the past that you you even thought about bringing that dep chart on here it's so useless I would say goodness nobody in the receiving core nobody in the pass rush group nobody on the offens offensive Rounding out the receiver room line I mean here's one name I think I think I don't know if it wouldn't be surprising I think to the show but to the fan base because I I've seen his name thrown around but I I think Xavier Weaver I I don't think it it wouldn't be surprising me I just don't think he's going to make this roster would it would it be a surprise addition if they kept him yeah be surprised in a different way um like listen I can I can I I don't have to talk myself into it like I see like dynamic in the return game he he's made play plays in the passing game but as far as the role that they need filled at the the back end of this wide receiver room like you've got your Playmakers you've got yeah but Z Pascal going out there and being their best run blocking wide receiver holds value that I think would would take president over a guy like Xavier Weaver who you know might Who projects as probably a bigger playmaker in the passing game it's a routine that I do every year I talk about Dennis card being on the bubble that's not gonna happen this year for obvious reasons like if you didn't play Saturday you were safe so you should just start with all the people who didn't participate in the preseason game and move them off to the side so who's left over from that group like would it shock you even with the other two tackles looking underwhelming if Kelvin beum was was cut would that shock you would that be a huge surprise is there zero percent chance that happens yeah based on I mean Wilkinson and Christian Jones have not looked great and I thought beim had an opportunity maybe to be beat out that's that's over I mean he's he's your swing tackle he's your safety net for both Paris Johnson Jr and Jonah Williams and good for him yeah yeah good for outside of that I I mean p Pascal would be somewhat a surprise based on his relationship with JG multiple years left on his contract great locker room guy but here's what I will say that that receiving core is just completely remade with youth and athleticism and they would be doubling down on that to keep a guy like Weaver because again like Z Jones Michael Wilson Greg dorch Chris Moore in my opinion are safe so if you're gonna keep a fifth it's it's it's Pascal versus chisa chzn versus Xavier Weaver oh did you drop your your guy Dan in there yeah chisel chzn they have his pronunciation on the de CH here chz chz chz ches no that ain't it that's I've been baly joins us Baldi how's it going my man can the NFL regular season get here quick enough I'm okay I'm okay with the pron I like looking at these young guys and looking at schemes and new coach is and I kind of enjoyed that's you know I mean l i i I'm I'm yearning for September 5th in Kansas City but I I don't mind this process right now I was one of those guys that needed playing time in preseason to to make a team and so I'm looking at guys that are developing from week one to week two getting more reps um looking at the things that they do well versus things that you know they have to get better at so I don't mind the whole uh evaluation process right now quickly off the top Baldi you know the Cardinals had two first round picks this year and they played in the pr first preseason game and then the Cardinals opted to say you know what Marvin Harrison Jr Darius Robinson you don't need to go out there and compete on Saturday night with a lot of your drafty peers and the rationale that was given was they were doing a joint practice with the Colts during the week where there were a lot of quote unquote game reps like we know Marv gets all the headlines we've talked to about Darius before but specifically with the 27th overall pick like Darius Robinson very much appeals feels like he's ahead of schedule for this team right now I mean to hold him back in a preseason game suggests in my opinion like this guy's going to be a starter this guy they have big expectations for I mean is is he gonna put himself in a position to have kind of a sneaky maybe Defensive Rookie of the Year kind of season typically that doesn't happen from the position that he's playing so I would I i' kind of hedge against that right now I'm not knocking Darius but you know he's going to be inside playing the run on a lot of downs he's not going to be out there on the Edge the way some of these guys are where you you might be able to do that but you still might be able to get some numbers look it's a it's a philosophy right now around the league uh you know Andy Reid you know Kansas City's playing his guys you know Houston uh he's playing his guys you know the the Saints played their starters deep in the second quarter the other day Green Bay you didn't see a starter the Rams you didn't see a starter the Eagles you're not seeing starters outside of a couple defensive lineman uh the Jets haven't played any starters it's just a philosophy right now and look a lot of these teams like the Cardinals they're getting a lot of work in scrimmages the Jets have scrimmaged against every opponent this preseason they scrimmaged the [ __ ] or the commanders the first week they scrimmaged the Carolina Panthers they're scrimmaging the giant Samar like some of these teams feel like they're getting their work in uh whether it's technique work fundamentals reps conditioning a lot of teams feel like they're getting that work in against these other teams right now during the week you know the biggest question on the defensive side of the football Darius Robinson side is the pass rush the guys coming off the edge and you had highlighted somebody in XT Xavier Thomas the fifth rounder out of Clemson what do you see in his follow-up performance from the New Orleans preseason opener to the Colts game on Saturday well I saw a good takeoff I think cam Thomas probably stole his you know beat him a you know beat him to the punch a couple of times he played very well he was working over the guard Xavier's working outside and so uh you know he was just beating the guard so mean he was getting there first but I thought um I thought they were lighting things up pretty good you didn't see many many blitzes you saw a lot of four-man rushes and you know just working on their one-on ones and so you the the thing that you is encouraging about Xavier is just his takeoff you know he gets off the ball really well he's in a two-point stance you know now it's a question of okay starting your opponent how quickly is your tackles getting off like can you time to snap without being off sides now you got to start working on some of the like the the really you know small detailed techniques that can give you an advant vage when you get to the regular season I think you can make an argument Baldi after the first two picks that just happen to be first rounders Taylor demerson the fourth rounder might be the most impressive rookie the Arizona Cardinals have and they had double digit rookies for the second consecutive year and a lot of good young prospects but I mean when you see a player of this caliber flash on tape like it's it's only a matter of time before he's in the starting lineup whether it's this year or next year do you agree with that yeah Ian he's going to get playing time um you know he had 10 interceptions at Texas Tech um you know they don't happen by accident you can't buy those on eBay you had to go find those interceptions you know you got to have some ball typically guys with ball skills it travels it goes from high school to college to the pro I mean it kind of It kind of travels with you I I think this kid is it's just a question of at his size can he keep hitting like that we asked that about bua Baker every year can you keep hitting like that at that size and hold up in this business when you're you know hitting 225lb running backs and 260lb tight ends but he did a Texas Tech I I thought he was a uh I had a couple of general managers ask me to go watch him and tell me like who he reminds you of and what do you think of I I just thought a guy with tremendous burst tremendous speed he could play in the Deep half he could play in in the half the Deep post and you know he can come up and uh you know be that eighth guy if he has to cheat up and and get that extra guy into the box he seems like he's got a lot of Versatility to me you mentioned Cameron Thomas and he did he did stand out and he was you know shut out last year as far as sacks his first year in the system and you know I talked to him earlier this week and the continuity finally getting in his career I mean he advaned Jose of year one coming out of San Diego State as as a third rounder and then a new system last year feels real comfortable now going into his third year what's what do you see that might point to him having a jump in production well he was really working the cross chop on the left guard from Indianapolis the other day so he's he's clearly working on his moves and they have him rushing on the inside which might be a good spot for him like if you have him and Darius Robinson rushing inside you know in real Rush Downs third down second Longs like maybe you got something there maybe you got something coming from the inside you know now you start getting you know whether it's zaven or Xavier or whatever on the outside a variety of guys Victor you got a variety of guys you can come off the edge um maybe that's a good spot for him I'm sure they're GNA move around because they're going to play a lot of different fronts and they're going to have a lot of different packages for down distance in in the oppositions but you can see that he's worked on some moves because uh you don't just run AC you uh execute a cross chop without working on it the way he did the other night last question we'll get you out of here on this you know I I look at the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals Drew psin where he came from in Cleveland and I look at the landscape of this offense now you drafted a blocking tip in the top 100 Isaiah Adams for you know his struggles as a pass protector he's been a heck of a run Blocker in this preseason and then I look at Trey Benson and then I look at James Connor is this the making of Once Upon a Time in Cleveland you had Nick chub and Kareem hunt and now James Connor and Trey Benson and this 12 Personnel I think we maybe Baldi we as this fan based fantasy football Community are we underestimating how much the Cardinals want to run the football in 2024 well Cleveland does you know line up Joel bonio in Wyatt teller at guards and they just cut teams up inside week in week out now uh but Bill you know look Bill Callahan was the offens line coach there they're very well coached uh in the Run game I wouldn't say Arizona's in that category yet but it's a good philosophy I mean you know you could beat teams up in this business um you can take advantage of the quarterback's running skills uh you know and I'm I'm sure that that's going to be part of what Drew does this year uh last year coming off to ACL you probably wanted to limit that but you know Kyler loves doing it he's really good at it he generally knows how to protect himself so um anytime you're trying to defend all 11 and you've got two bruising backs and you've got a you know the assemblage of good blocking tight ends um that's not a bad way to try to win football games just pounding the line of scrimmage and getting some play action off of it and some of those kind of things that those type of teams like to do you can see them across the All City Network breaking down all the great teams on All City that's heila g l a Once Upon a Time this little podcast they could was at the NFL combine and having a couple Cold Pops after hours and uh the shadow of a man approached us at a a drinking spot and his name was Eric Burkhart and he just so happens to be the agent for one Kyler Murray and we were talking shop and it's great to hear from eie it's a good guy but the point of emphasis he he attempted to make with this little podcast back in 2023 in lowly February was the Arizona Cardinals really like Tyrie Wilson so much so that they could take him within the top five now that mortified us at the time Tyree Wilson trade rumors because we were very much of Will Anderson Jr or eventually Paris Johnson Jr uh Tyreek Wilson was not our cup of tea for a couple different reasons and lo and behold here we are now less than two years later and it looks like the Raiders who eventually selected Tyrie Wilson in the top seven may feel the same way the Raiders according to Jeremy Fowler should consider trading defensive end Tyree Wilson according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN Wilson the seventh pick of the 2023 draft has struggled to live up to expectations trading him now could allow the Raiders to acquire proven Talent OR additional draft capital and again this is echoed by everybody within the Raiders camp like everybody who's involved with the Raiders are saying they don't know his place he's back up on the depth chart they've got a nice defensive line with Max Crosby and Company they signed Christian Wilkinson like they don't need defensive line help and then you've got a guy who I would assume is not a great scheme fit for what they want to do so again new regime he was drafted by the old one got a different head coach now with Antonio Piers like I I think again I'm not saying that Cardinals should go out and pursue Ty Wilson however change a senior for a 24 year old for somebody that the Cardinals did like once upon a time I guarantee if you looked at Austin Ford Scouting Report they were high on it but probably what ended up happening was the metrics and the attributes didn't match the onfield production that they wanted could you steal tyriek Wilson from the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of final cutdown ahead of the start of the regular season to maybe supplement an otherwise let's just call it questionable pass rush group Bo Brock where does he play I think he plays with his hand in the dirt on passing down yeah I don't think he's off he's not stand up off the edge guy but I I think he in the heavy package is if you're running a 43 front he plays defensive end for Jonathan ganet so who do you take snaps away from Dennis Gard Dennis Gard Andor but yeah but I mean then like he's not I think if you if you played a base defense where zav Collins is on one side Darius Robinson and Justin Jones are on the inside and you could kick Tyree Wilson on the opposite side I would have no issue with that cam Thomas is the sweetener man Cameron Thomas's value shot up exponentially since getting sack preseason game on this show did you seriously just say who does he take snaps from though any of them yeah but is he's gonna be he's gonna play outside linebacker I think a hybrid role they like how much how much does he weigh 270 pounds aie saying he's a DN 43 like Montes sweat 100% like that's who he projects as he projects as a he's 66 275 he's got length you're not playing him in side like on passing Downs to get length at the quarterback you put them opposite the tackle on their outside very rarely see like a 43 look from this team oh you see it fine it happens maybe they don't have the Personnel to show it like gardak and and zav Collins putting their hand in the dirt I I think usually like stand like I just don't know if it's a fit either for what they're doing like and I think that they've got a guy in Darius Robinson that that's going to play this role uh I think based on the fact that they liked him pre-draft that's a good way to put it big bird six is starting like 10 yeah I mean look when you're deoration mode uh I I feel like because Nick race was in play Jonathan Ganon was in play at the time and certainly Monty Austin for that there there would be a scheme fit for him I like you can't convince me like Damon said with this group that is underwhelming three weeks before the start of the regular season two and a half weeks that he couldn't come and be a chess piece for ganet I mean he had three and a half sacks last year for a bad Raiders team it's 24 he's on a rookie contract not making no money but nothing of note like I I would be disappoint if he became available and the Cardinals didn't call I would be disappointed what would you be willing to give up Pro probably like give up a fourth round pick next year for a guy that was drafted top 10 I wouldn't give up anything more than that but like the Raiders I mean they're they're starting over it's a different regime different scheme fits I if he's falling out of favor with Antonio Pierce who was on the staff last year I think that you just you're just kind of saying what can we get for him yeah I I have no issue with it it's Josh sweat that he had in Philly not Montes s Montes sweat was in Washington um who's poor more of an you know outside line projected coming out of NC State which he had minimal production there but everybody loved his metrics except for this show and he projected as a rush Edge rushing freak of nature with length that could be Julius Peppers like that's what EB told us at that night this is Julius Peppers and he could go first overall that did not happen but if we're looking for a little bit of a discount for the regular season I would explore I think Cardinals have to be in on all these guys no doubt about it and and what have we discovered likees does he love ball have the Raiders discovered if he's a guy that is all about sure his football his life or is it something that he just he gets a paycheck for it's a good question and again that that's where with Will Anderson Jr you knew did love football they brought Tyree Wilson in for a top 30 didn't they yes they were interested I can't you can't dismiss this completely if if word is out there if Jeremy fer is putting out there like he needs a fresh start they need to move him uh you know that the Raiders are kind of throwing that out there like who could we get to be interested in this Jeremy Fowler who usually is pretty tight lipped and speaks in like generalities he doesn't just say things like that so yeah again you trade him to Arizona you don't play the Cardinals uh you just played them two years ago they're in a different conference he gets to stay on the west coast close by just several hours south of of Vegas like let him come here and try to revitalize his career under Nick race and Jonathan ganet like you you could sell me on on worse ideas 100% look I worse ideas you're you're buying low right you're buying low I mean what's most you give up for he's on the rookie deal um yeah that's probably where where I the highest I go is fourth but the Raiders less than a year removed from his rookie season to to take that loss that'd be pretty incredible I mean could you give them a player in return they're look he said that looking for a player to help them I love when you start throwing players in it's always can we interest you in Victor D magei I mean you said it I didn't Damon I would say outside of our starters who do you want from this pass rush group and then we'll we'll lump on a high day three pick let's start the conversation there we got a couple guys who are they got high Motors can they finish remains to be seen they got some their Motors go I don't know where that car is driving to but the motor in there giant venerable the art of the deal it's just unbelievable what you got going on Tyreek Wilson maybe kind of available yeah we got a we got a guy a versatile tackle SLG guard Elijah Wilkinson ever heard of him he's been in the league of a while positional value ever heard of it it's like that scene from uh I can't even think of the name of the movie uh but they were I'm gonna butcher this now what's that movie with with Ben Affleck we're uh in the late 70s and he goes overseas to save those people oh Argo Argo and that with they're TR they're like this is your best bad idea yep we've only got best bad ideas now that's what trading for a pass rusher has become they're all bad ideas best bad idea Hassan reick uh Tyrie Wilson off the scrap heat yanuk and doway can't get a job he's tweeting out today cryptic messages like that's that's where we're at two week two and a half weeks before the season yeah times are tough in that uh at that position group for the Cardinals wa because I don't even think I'm not even convinced that Tyrie Wilson like when he comes to the Cardinals he would he would be his position group would be defens line well then then we have a problem because again like I he's not going to be with the outside linebackers you're not going to put him in coverage my god there zav Collins doesn't cover though yes he does not as much as you would think he's probably one of their better outside linebacker covers no what zav Collins in in coverage like like an are you talking about an off ball linebacker or outside linebacker okay I'm sorry I miss what you said yeah so for the viewers listening at home they have off ball linebackers which are kazir white and Mac Wilson but when it where it gets confusing is MC Wilson may also play outside linebacker and then they have outside linebackers then they have DNS and then they have D tackles so you're saying that he would you're saying you think he would play the same position as Darius Robinson yes I disagree I think that would be a mistake I think he he played 492 snaps last year on the defensive line but what what from what position though I mean he was you know I mean he was a little bit played a little bit out you know right around you know 43 defensive end that I think that's what you would try to play him here I think he would try I mean of all his snaps last year according to PFF he rushed the passer oh twice as much as he played the run just about he played the run about 170 snaps and he rushed the passer over 300 snaps like that 65 yeah the guy's a defensive lineman he's not going to be in the outside linebacker room he's too damn I think I think I don't like putting labels on guys and I feel like when we talk to G at the combine like I don't I don't want to put labels on this relationship with Tyree Wilson on this imag I where keep an open mind Tyree Wilson should if he if they were to acquire a player of this caliber should be placed on the edge of the line of scrimmage and allowed to rush against the tackle with his length to try to get after Matthew Stafford or Brock pie like that's that's what you would have him for you wouldn't have him you know sanss like 20 or 30 pounds like Justin Jones rushing against centers and guards I think we're I think we're making this too complicated here let's just simplify it we are yeah we are spend a lot of time on this it's coming from a place of we're very ill informed on Tyre wolves Matt judon is 270 and the Cardinals inquired on him so I think there is a a profile there that they're looking for these comments I don't give everything a label Chase all the time shave saying I like open relationships I I mean what's J saying uh Jaylen saying in a 34 though the rushers are the outside linebackers who sometimes have to drop into coverage so an a would have to be a 34 DN which is an inside D line player but do they my point how often do play a 34 versus a 4-3 I think I think way more so okay you you'll see three to two to three defensive linemen you very very very rarely see like four traditional defensive linemen when he was in Philadelphia who is the DN opposite Hassan reck the other defensive it Josh s is Josh sweat like covering people in the flat and covering tight ends and stuff I I think we're making we're we're making this too complicated I think there's a world where 3D linemen can have their hand in the dirt and one guy can be a stand-up rusher you don't yeah they I've seen that look before well I think that that's where it fits okay so what but where do you put you put Darius Robinson inside yes and he he played inside the first preseason game I don't disagree that you you you check in on all options I just don't think this is a realistic one wow wow don't take that as like disrespect with all dis all respect it's good to get perspective Damon I think Bo is trying to play like you know I'm at practice every day I don't see a fit watch tape Big Time B today that's fine you want to be big time B Crush everybody's dreams of requiring Tyreek Wilson that's fine hey let's take a look at that the depth chart the carbon copy from last week I hate this gonna be sitting there and we're gonna be yelling somebody get after the quarterback and nobody can do it I'm G to be upset and everybody here in the chat we got almost 600 people watching like this video please everybody here is gon to be upset too and it's just like you we're laughing at these kakami ideas two and a half weeks before the regular season that's all we got because I'm sorry I don't feel like this franchise did their homework back in March at one position group I feel like they got options every we're talking about oh my God surplus of receivers and corners and running backs you know I like I like the depth that inside linebackers suddenly NOP Edge rusher don't need it it's a mistake they made a mistake right there should have been some sort of aggressive play whether it was you know trading up in the draft or or spending cap dollars somewhere but look I mean obviously they they prioritized um the defensive line and kind of boosting that and they got it to you know at least an NFL uh level of of just personnel and and now yeah they had to pay for it where they didn't they weren't able to upgrade the pass rush Dana Robinson five uh jumping in some insight this is reli on memory but in the preseason at least we are 4-3 front most of the time with 34 mostly being on some first downs and short yardage look you you've got you know your you've got Darius Robinson and you know like an LJ Collier or you know a def two defensive lineman up front and then you've usually got as those guys that finish out the defensive line are are off ball linebackers who are not putting their hands in the dirt that's that's what I've seen most of the time I really haven't seen much that's resembled a 43 front from from Jonathan G is that a byproduct of the lack of caliber of athlete that they have at that position right now um no I mean I think when you look at Philly that's kind of what they did so you're telling meam had miles Garrett they'd be like hey miles you know our outside linebacker I mean he could play I think he would play the outside linebacker spot for this we'd like could you also cover here I'm pretty sure that's exactly what both saying yes this is like some Vance Joseph [ __ ] why why are you like you're you're trying to create carat a role for a guy who who did not in his he's already more out his welcome in less than a season you are trading for him for one thing not to cover anybody we got we got like 10 safeties on this roster now hell yeah I don't care about coverage I care about one thing who can make these quarterbacks that they face this Gauntlet of pro bowlers within the first eight weeks uncomfortable I'm uncomfortable thinking about who's going to be rushing the passer I'm trying to get creative and look at Alternatives of guys who may be available to come in and do one job hey Tyree Wilson come in just like kassan reck be a mercenary off the edge for this team do one job we're not g we're gonna simplify like we're I think Jonathan ganam and Nick RS to a lesser extent two L defensive they are so sound if you can't watch Xavier Thomas and Taylor deerson and know hey that's coming from those two guys I'm so fired up so they ought to be able to bring in a guy with a unique skill set who can Rush a little bit from The Edge and say just come we're gonna ask you to do one thing we're gonna scheme you up you're telling me you wouldn't rather watch Tyrie Wilson do what Victor D mcki couldn't do on Saturday night against a third Stringer with after whiff after whiff I mean that that's all I'm saying here I'm not saying we gota we got to get a Cornerstone piece that's got they they have to do everything well I'm looking for one skill set the Cardinal fans are looking for one thing that nobody on this roster can do consistently right now yeah I just don't think he a geme fit I and look and I apologize to most of the viewers out there like I feel like we're we're all coming out of this segment a little a little bit Dumber as far as our football IQ goes what is that supposed to mean with all due respect should PR with I don't think he's a scheme fit you know what I don't I'm not interested in it you know where is he playing where what what position group is he gonna is he gonna be with I don't I don't think what position group does he practice with Marvin Arison Jr is not a scheme fit want to do tip ryman's a scheme fit but Tyreek Wilson's not a scheme fit is that what thanks for all your hard work uh your your complete buyin uh we're going to take this guy that was a castoff from the Raiders in less than a season at a seventh overall pick yeah here's your here's your luggage by and we're gonna just we're gonna create a hybrid role that uh we haven't even considered for any of you people that have already put in all this this hard work set that precedent for I love the comments go away B stop B and then there's hold strong B Bo is killing it so that's
