[Music] yes sir yes sir what are you up to dude can I call you later I'm getting a little sweating in 808 State yeah okay okay love you B I [Music] think is it yeah I didn't get the full ingredient this so I go for it life in Hawaii was very simple for me it was my house the high school my garage and the field other than that I mean that was my life in a nutshell y over the wall and then over yep one more just for good measures yes to me I've always lived a life of we're not promised tomorrow you know and how do I want to be remembered off the field you know a physical you know thing they can look at so it can make it happen but that's more powerful than anything more powerful than success and what you do on the field we try to stay present in that way we're not promised tomorrow and we damn sure aren't you know promis anything that we don't go and earn being from an island being on a wahoo in the middle of Pacific Ocean you know you're behind the curve a little bit because there's so much available on the mainland you know they're grounded you're on an island and sometimes you need you need to get off [Music] I think just growing up in Hawaii I mean you you're taught at a young age that family is everything you respect you take care you back up you know you have to be there for them we worked so hard so that our sons could have the opportunities to chase these dreams or you know you can play for UCF you can play for Oklahoma play for Oregon but this is your roots this is where you grew up and I think that's why it becomes so hard to leave Hawaii because of the special place it is and the people who live here when you when you go away you realize how special it is cuz you always want to come back I'm a reverse in here so we can see these guys home will always be home you know like that's hard to beat and like do I miss all the people of course but like there's something too like new experiences and like let's go fun you know just like trying new things meeting new people so like my mom gets it right like my dad was a quarterback all his life too and like playing at the University of Hawaii she just gets it so when I started playing like she understands and I think she sees it from a different lens but she's always like tried to keep it balance of not letting football be too much but then also like shoot she's the same one like Dylan you got to play better you know like so I love that about her and then my dad I think we just have a strong connection of like when we talk about things I wouldn't say it's more serious it's just it means a lot cuz you know he's worked me out since a young age like he was at the park with me when we were throwing like that all that's all memories that we you know end up you know sticking with us and um yeah it's it's [Music] special coming from the island and getting on the mainland he had a personality he had an aura about himself I mean people just they they buy in to what he's doing here's a young man that's came all this way from home but he has his head on right Dylan is a lover of people and if he's able to give back he always does that's his heart par over here yeah you can park right here oh my God yes we did it look at it it was worth it it was worth it I think it's always tough leaving home but also it's a reminder of you know knowing why I'm doing it of that bigger dream of wanting to complish all the goals that I had when I was eight or N9 years old feel like there's something that about the Hawaii boys that just goes even further you know how hard it it may be to get from Hawaii to the states and playing football but you've also seen the the doors kind of open for a lot of the younger guys so I'm happy to see how far Hawaii football has come and you know what it'll do in the future for up and cominging student athletes I always keep that with me whenever I head back
