in copertino today Apple just announced a whole range of new devices for 2024 including new iPhones new Apple watches and a whole new line of airpods like always I hunted down your favorite creators to find out which of these devices is their favorite they also share their thoughts on Apple intelligence and tell us which device they'll be picking up soon plus we have two special guests from the Olympics hi I'm Michael Josh your Gadget Matchmaker and over the last decade I've made it my job to show people around the world that Tech can be easy fun and exciting on this channel I give you I'll help you find the right device to match your needs this is creators react to the iPhone 16 event the camera control I was not expecting that I didn't look at any rumors or anything I just thought that it looked way more useful than I would have imagined a button to be it's like a trackpad on a phone there's a lot of control that you have off just a single button so that's kind of neat well I try to stay away from leaks and rumors I kind of like to have especially when I'm coming here I want to like have it firsthand I thought they might replace the action button and put it as the camera control but they've actually kept the action button and now we have an additional camera control cuz one of my pieces of feedback from the iPhone 15 pro and pro Max was that the action button is bit a little bit unreachable and I the most thing that I would use it for is to launch the camera but now that we've got it here as a camera control it's not really compromising on the action button which is quite cool and that was a bit of a surprise for me but the Hat picks are on point and question is going to be how much are you going to actually use it when it comes to the day to-day so let's see and this is maybe for another time if they had Touch ID within it as well and then when I'm in bed and my face is in my pillow I won't have to get out to unlock my phone 4K 120 I I like good call out yes really impressive I want to try that too cuz I want to not have to bring my camera all the time so like 4K 120 A8 Pro yeah yeah a lot of stuff to test I've like honestly recently been only shooting iPhone stuff so you know the camera system is looking like better than ever like the fact that you do 4K 120 and also that new like camera capture button now in terms of Hardware it's like that same same but different meme that man's an imposter yes the camera control is something that catches your eye but for you and I as content creators I think that real boost to photo and video is is really the game changer um the camera control will definitely get attention it's a really interesting approach I think the fact that you are able to summon things like visual search using the camera control actually presents a whole different way of maybe interacting with the camera and in the era of multimodal AI giving people ways to quickly launch into the camera and search something visually I think is really powerful I really like the AI integration with audio and visual the levels that the software are going to change video and audio recording are unprecedented the further they get closer to making it professional grade film technology you won't even need a DSLR the camera control button on the iPhone 16 I I think it's so cool that you can easily Zoom switch Styles pretty much do anything that you would need to in the camera app with that one button so I think it's going to be really cool to use that in my content I actually thought of you because there is Snapchat integration there is I saw that in the keynote and I was so excited about that like oh my goodness I will definitely be using it why use multiple Chargers when One charging station does it all cue the of my favorite Olympians I'm really excited for the for the iPhone 16 Pro so I want to get the 16 Pro Max I yeah I love my Pro Maxes um definitely the pro um a pro Max is too big I'm quite small so I feel like the pro Max would just be I know both of us are like you're a iPhone Pro Max guy are you going to be switching this year regular pro has the same cameras or you going to stick with the bigger model I haven't even checked them out yet I got to hold it but based on what I saw there probably it doesn't look that much bigger in hand than the current Max I would probably lean for the pro though still you know it's interesting I have to get the pro Max but for a lot of people who would be watching maybe the the difference between a pro and a pro Max isn't that much this time right because you have all the same features but I'm going to get the big dog 6.9 in that's what I'm waiting to use I'm always excited to see the new Pro lineup I think they're the best they' been I think they do it wildly differently the first thing that comes to mind is privacy is huge but also privacy limits what it can do I want to see how it plays out what I like about Apple is everything kind of works and it's smooth right now we've seen Magic Eraser from Google and things like that but on here just the animations and everything it doesn't feel like kind of janky everything flows I think Apple stands the greatest chance of getting it right but I don't know if that means it's going to get it right enough to make it compelling for for asking questions too however summaries yeah this email thread has nine replies in it that all happened before you woke up so hit summarize and I mean that would save me so much time and I'm a broken record I've said this a billion times but that's what I want that's a problem I want solved I think Apple will probably do that really well it's a lot of it's coming soon and coming later so it's really curious that they're going to launch these phones and they're going to have almost none of that stuff and then they're going to slowly roll it out over time we'll see how that works but they aren't selling the phones based on those features at launch one of the biggest things for me was just being able to use Siri in a more natural setting if you stumble on a word Siri will still understand it so I'm really excited to see that implemented in iPhone I'm also excited for some of the other Apple intelligence features like summaries and I really think it's just going to help condense a lot of emails and make stuff easier to use so I'm excited AI is something that I think at the minute store feeli is maybe not that tangible and part of that comes down to the fact that there's not dozens of use cases yet we we see the same things used by Apple as we see with other people it's image editing it's you know summarizing notes they're useful features but are they going to come in someone to buy a phone in their own right I'm not sure they are we certainly see in our research that privacy and and trust is is a big factor we see in our research that's something that our um consumers tell us about when we're when we're carrying out surveys they they are worried about this and they do care but I think Apple just does have such a strong track record in this area especially when you compare to some of the other leading internet companies who are driving in AI but actually don't have the best track record Apple does have that that track code differentiation oh I mean it's going to simplify everything I think there are so many steps you have to do to do what they're already integrating into the system so to now have to skip those steps you can just do focus on what is important and that is creating itself anyone's going to do it the best it's Apple oh you heard it from Conor oh I love it I mean it's just ease of use for me I feel like when I'm looking things up online it's it's typically like I'll throw in all the all the ingredients I have in my fridge make me a recipe and having that at my fingertips is going to be so nice I think that their stance on keeping everything very private on your phone not really uploaded to a server is really important and I think that having that sort of environment in your phone itself is going to be something that's so useful going through emails photos I'm looking forward to seeing how all that can affect my life it's cool to like see you know the Privacy stuff behind it CU I think that's been a major concern and also it's a person in a way where it's not like it's done in a way where it doesn't take over your life or like whatever you're doing creatively if you're generating an image you can clearly tell as generated is not trying to look too realistic so you and I have discussed AI a bunch of times with other manufacturers but I think Apple's gone it right and I was really waiting to see the proof in the pudding with this announcement the keynote today and you see how it's woven seamlessly across the ecosystem that's what it's all about AI for the rest of us Michael and I think that's important because you don't want to explain AI to your mom or to your aunt right you want them to be able to use it seamlessly and that's what Apple intelligence does you you can use it on notes you can use it on messages you can use it maybe they should start opening it up to other apps as well like WhatsApp and stuff like that private cloud and Cloud Cloud Relay that is really something significant in terms of how they've really worked on it here at Apple because the fact that they're not sharing that data with a company or storing that data it's up for review and and even the way they actually approach using something like Chad GPD opening up to other large language learning models I think this is not just AI for everyone it's honestly showing you the way forward with the AI Revolution and I think Apple's onto something special and I think it's the way they do it the prompt to the users saying Hey listen you're leaving the Apple ecosystem you're going to open AI now but we're not going to store this data of course if you log in with your Jad GPT open AI credentials then you're dealing with them they're opening up to Gemini as well so I think that is the way forward of the a imj it has to be Democratic it has to be open and it has to be transparent I I personally think the colors on the iPhone 16 are so much better than last year like I hate when they do wash out color so I was like thank you give us a Sprite if I could choose a color it'll be to teal iPhone 161 but then it's like well I probably want to go towards the pro which have let's say more muted colors but I like the new um signature I can't remember the exact color is like Sahar desert titani something thank you all right I was thinking the the like desert color titanium looks really cool cool how about you I like the darker color so I was going to go with that dark gray color I'm going to move away from the blue obviously and get the desert titanium so the brand new colors are outstanding they pop they're super vibrant obsessed with the aquamarine and teal stunning even the pink too incredible color and then going on to the Pro Models the new desert titanium finish is stunning as well it's kind of like a subtle gold I thought it was going to be more of like a 10s Max kind of gold but it's a little bit more subtle and I like it I think that's the color that I'm going to go with this year the colors are actually like vibrant that blue the ultramarine might be my favorite across the whole lineup even though you know we got to go pro but if I were to go non-pro it would absolutely be the ultramarine and then for the pro do you think you'll be rocking the new desert titanium today this year or going s with a stand I mean we were talking about this before like I'm silver I feel like I'm rocking the silver but I'm going to do a mix medals moment and go with desert sand because it just looks so beautiful it's a new color dude that's the thing I'm torn on like the regular 16s have the beautiful teal color I think the only teal product that Apple's ever officially launched Dave 2D blue basically yeah essentially and probably go with the gray or the white whatever I get that desert thing it's not for me I've never liked the gold or the cream or any of that stuff it's just not my speed yeah I want to see it because it's the new color but this guy is still kind of my favorite yeah the gray has looked so good over the year the way I pick my color is what does everybody want to see and it looks like it's going to be the desert sand but I've been just speaking to my friend Abdullah who's from Kuwait and he's like that is not the color of desert sand and trust me he knows cuz he lives in a desert I mean it looks interesting I definitely think the black I think it's a deeper black now as well I mean the satin black on the Apple watch Ultra too I mean that's the one for me looks just like my car fit in with my branding so looking forward to that you don't even need to pay anything extra to wrap that nope just put it straight on and there you go so yeah looking forward to that too they're more catchy for our videos they look very beautiful on camera but do people buy them I don't know for a review probably the desert titanium but I still kind of want that natural titanium as well I just like that's plain color everyone I know got this one got this one yeah because it goes with all the your your outfits it doesn't clash with anything yeah they also said that the black was a darker black I want to see that yes otherwise pretty similar if you recall our last video you were complaining about the muted colors on the Samsung Series also I like to call you a color police so what are your thoughts on the new iPhone 16 series I look forward to seeing what colors they are able to introduce to the pro at some point in the future but the junior line there's just some amazing stuff in there the blue and the and the purple whatever they're calling them the blue and the pink are gorgeous and I also love that all the leakers were utterly wrong about the desert because like you had all these like sample ones out there where it's like they they all look super bronze and super ridiculous and it's like no the special colors uh they're great for marketing purposes they're great for keeping us nerds entertained but of course the other boring reality of 2024 is no matter what kind of phone you buy you're just going to put a case on it anyway which is and maybe I'll go dark cuz I have the titanium color now okay cool like the the dark titanium one yeah yeah yeah probably what about you um so I know desert titanium is a new color yes I'm a fan of blue as you can see but I think I'll stick with the natural titanium I think is the way to go just like watch Ultra 2 black yes I thought of you immediately when that was announced I'm going to be upgrading upgrading to were you surprised that there was an airpods Max today well yeah we just got USB and then they were like how about a new color eh same headphones same headphones I could have done so much more with that I'm disappointed but I will also have to get them cuz I can't keep a lightning cable everywhere it's just I'm done with lightning yeah although the black is not now it's midnight it's mid dark oh so it's kind of blue blue yeah yeah yeah so no black so you might have to keep that one or you get the get it wrapped get it wrapped yeah get that Apple watch CI sleep apnea right that's something that's really cool and then those new uh better fitting airpods I think are going to be so confident you guys are so good at Tech uh if you want to quit your day jobs you there's always a career in Tech YouTube if you'd like I'm going to electrical engineers so you never know I think with the series 10 I think the Apple got a very sort of premium jewelry Vibe going on there with the different colors and the finishes I think it looks great I know a lot of people who wanted the black colorway in the ultra 2 cool for those he want it I'm kind of quite happy with my standard silver titanium one but um I think the new bands will get quite a bit of attention titanium band is so good an incredibly light I was really surprised by when you pick it up you think it's going to be heavy and it just isn't it's it's but it looks super premium I'm hearing a functionality on the airpods Pro 2 I think is such an incredible feature Apple has been really prioritizing Health these investments in health are really going to pay off and impact a lot of people honestly my heart like skipped a beat a little bit when I saw the max airpods max even though they were very brief about it during the Kyo it was a quick little sprinkle in there but I was excited to see that cuz I use my airpods Max all the time but I rather have the same cable
