all right everyone so Jay Fowler ESPN gave a huge update on the Dak Prescott and CD lamb contract extension situation so here is what he said the situation is talks have been ongoing but there's really every C but they are really every couple of days the stage is set for Dallas to place the urgency on CD lamb the wide receiver to get that deal done it's going to cost them well above 30 million per year CD is trying to get as close as he can to that Justin Jefferson Market and that 35 million so they're trying to find a sweet spot on all those points I expect lamb to be done first they're going to get Prescott done before week one as well and double down on both these guys and spend a ton of money it's still unclear whether they could pull this off Prescott and you talk to people in and around the situation he's well aware of how well he can do in for agency if it were if you were to let this ride out play well again put up huge qbr and then be there in March for a 60 million a year whatever it's going to cost it's going to cost a lot I don't think both sides want that they want to try to shake out this with the deal but it's going to take a lot of leg work over the next two weeks so I I I'm just going to say I don't understand what the Cowboys are doing uh we defended the Cowboys in the past because it's crazy to me the Cowboys are this team that does win a lot of games now they haven't had the playoff success but people act like they're a franchise that's always just has two wins I mean they've had three straight 12 win Seasons we defend we've defended them for a while uh but this off season you say you're going all in you don't go all in so the way the only way that made any sense was if you were going to basically be moving off everybody right if you're just like you know what we'll see if this team could do it if they can't we're rebuilding the whole thing all right well you don't go all in you don't do anything and now we move here and look it's not crazy to be like yeah we're not going to pay Dak all this money because despite his regular season success because he hasn't brought us to where we want to go I mean I don't think that's crazy it's not crazy not to pay out big money to CD lamb if you don't know what you're going to be doing at the quarterback position moving forward but now this is like the worst of Both Worlds because you are going to end up paying them according to this report and you're paying them at the last possible second so that means you're going to be in for more money on both of these guys than you would have liked you haven't done anything this year so now you're going to be stuck with them past the season it's going to make this a lot harder to actually put a team around I I just don't see where the path is here I did I mean please put in the comments if you see the path I don't get it I would be I know the media is pushing this thing like how can you not pay CD Lam and de but seriously if they decided we're moving off both this is a reset button I wouldn't blame them you know it's like okay we've tried this thing it's just not getting us where we want to go we're resetting we're not going to put big money into either of them we'll pay Micah but we're not going to pay those two it would make sense but to wait till the last minute to pay both that doesn't does make any sense and that's a recipe for making a bad decision so we'll see if this ends up holding true but if Dak gets over 60 million and if CD gets 35 around what Justin Jefferson is getting I mean I I understand they could both probably get what they want on the open market that's not what we're talking about here right this idea that well because another team will pay for him that means the Cowboys should pay that that rate it doesn't make any sense every team is in a different situation so thank you all for watching and we'll see you next
