Breaking Down A Wednesday Day Game between the Marlins and Pirates!

ladies and gentlemen I want to welcome you once again back into the studio for another record the series where we discuss breakdown and recap the day of baseball how are you guys doing today I'm doing well I'm feeling good the background of this video is just absolutely gorgeous PNC Park uh I just went to PNC Park recently one of the best ballparks in baseball I mean I've only been to four five ballparks technically but I didn't I went to Fenway Park when I was really young but PNC Park is incredible the skyline the atmosphere that Pittsburgh brings even though there's not a lot of fans in Pittsburgh I love love love the fans of Pittsburgh I really love the fans of Pittsburgh um and it's just a genuine fan base so bayy falter here seven Innings one hit no runs three walks five strikeouts uh he is pitching a really good game against the Miami Marlins and this is just one of those baseball games that I love like absolutely adore and this is like my favorite type of baseball where the Pirates are 70 and 76 out of the playoff hunt and the Marlins being a team that's been out of since April uh just two teams it doesn't matter this game a close game it had some good moments in it and it's just a baseball game I love man like I watch this game Wednesday Day game like this is uh entertaining I just love it I love it so much so bayy falter here I've actually seen bayy falter pitch twice in person once this year when I went to the Pirates game and also to Citizens Bank Park I saw him pitch for the Phillies so a really good cutter right there to start things off to Christian pase uh he is over for two in the six hole like that the Marlins picked him up I think he's a guy give him a shot a full shot he's played great defense in center field um and I think his bats been pretty solid as we see him line a single up the middle that's a really good piece of hitting on a 91 Min fast ball um uh Center Center so now with uh 91 pitches uh with the Lefty coming up uh this is going to be his last batter bayy falter regardless of what happens first pitch karz is going to drill one into center field and the new center fielder o' Cruz is going to come in on it and make a really nice diving play a really good play from O'Neal Cruz this is the first time that I've seen him in center field Live um and at 6'6 and him being so fast and athletic it it's got to be it's got to work I mean Centerfield is one of those positions um if you could play an elite short stop that I mean I'm not saying O'Neal Cruz is an elite defensive short stop but if you could just play a relatively good defensive short stop and O'Neal Cruz has those flashes where like wow this guy's one of the best defensive Short Stops in the league obviously it's not consistent enough but um he has the ability to play center field Short Stop is so much more difficult to play than Center Field Center Field's really just about reading the ball and just running that's all center field is while short stop you think about everything it's about footwork it's about uh staying consistent and locked in every single pitch uh so Outfield is going to be a lot easier if O'Neal Cruz continues to play in center field um and I think he could easily become one of the best center fielders in baseball so they're going to put in Colin Holderman out of the bullpen and first pitch I think this is to a Lopez um or that might be no I think it's Xavier Edwards Xavier Edwards for the yeah the Miami Marlins 328 he's been hitting really really well a guy that is is good in emwe the show um and this is uh something I I thought this looked like Christiano Ronaldo and I saw this um and he gives it to a kid and the kid's happy man but this Pirates game I mean a Wednesday Day game I'm not sure if this was a game that potentially got rained out and this is a reschedule but there was no fans absolutely no fans when I went to the Pirates game I I think like a month ago I mean it was somewhat it wasn't packed but like there was a decent amount of fans it wasn't like totally empty it was totally empty this game we're going to see uh when it when it goes into foul territory like you could really see uh there's really not a lot of fans so Conor Joe right there's going to get a ground ball so they're going to say that Conor Joe stepped on first base uh I I thought I had a replay in this breakdown but he kind of had trouble trying to find first base but he barely clipped it with the back of his cleat he goes to second base um and ikf gets the ball his foot is on the before the runner gets there but he has to tag him because he obviously touched first base so the runner is going to be at second base here now we have two away um after that ground ball um and and also shout out to the a runner on first base who was that Christian pashe for hustling right there um his speed uh allowing this inning to continue so now we have conine just a a random guy that I've never heard of in the Marlin system B 250 in the nine hole and he is going to uh be in a 1-1 count right here he's going to check on Christian pase a phenomenal play by Isaiah Conor FFA right there at shortstop that's a bad throw from Colin Holderman you're rushing there it kind of sailed on him and Isaiah Conor FFA an athletic play to keep that Runner Christian pase at second base but that would have been a close play with Anil Cruz's arm center field on Cruz I just imagine imagine him going back on a ball he's going deep running at third base and he just absolutely sends one to home PL this guy could be this guy could be an elite center field he's so he's got so much tools so aan hold him 11 is going to go with the back door slider and end up hitting conine the number nine hitter not what you want to do in that situation now you bring it back to the top of the lineup um and these hit by pitches I feel in these breakdowns when we're kind of breaking down close uh night uh like tight gritty games uh these types of uh moments where we see the number nine hitter uh a guy that you want to attack you're not he's not a dangerous hitter you're hitting him that that's really tough so and that's going to bring up their leadoff hitter I think this is Conor Norby Conor Norby they got him from the Baltimore orils in the Tyler uh Trevor Rogers trade and 1-1 right there on an inside slider that he took a massive hack on he's over three on the day Holderman is going to go to another slider a really really good slider right there move the count on one and two let's blow 97 by him or do we go back to a slider he is going to go back to one leave that more in the in the zone and Conor Norby not really on it but he's able to fight that pitch off I feel like one two now if you go back to another slider potentially Conor Norby could make the adjustment so right here I'm going fast ball as Holderman once again is going to check on Christian pase keep him at second base you don't want to uh have second and third where single is going to score two and really uh close this game close in this game up one two he's going to go to 99 Colin Holdman is a really good reliever though the the Pirates have a a good Bullpen honestly uh if all their guys are pitching well 99 uh lowan inside probably wants that pitch high but Conor nor putting up a battle right here one two with 99 in the bag I I might go back to it and an incredible play by that fan in the stance kind of looks similar to Kyle higashioka a jacked fan who brought his glove I mean you always bring your glove to the game never know when you're going to get a ball Conor Norby's going to roll over right there to I think that's Jared Chola at first base at third base and the Pirates are going to be able to get out of that inning so uh the Marlo's threatened but Conor nor unable to come through with con with Colin Holderman making some pretty good pitches right there so now we have a Nick Gonzalez I really like Nick Gonzalez's swing I like his energy in the Box he's two for three on the day Dean Cronin out of the Marlin bull the Marlin dude two a year ago when they made the playoffs they they had an unbelievable Bullpen a really good Bullpen right there he's going a line one to Short Stop Xavier Edwards uh is that Xavier or is that Otto Lopez it's one of them at shortstop second base but that's it's a really good swing man I really like Nick Gonzalez I like his swing a lot I think he's a young guy like 27 for the Pirates a really really nice play to get the first out of this inning so we're going to see here in the bottom of the eighth inning the Pirates getting ready for the top of the ninth inning with their closer David bedar who has a six ER on the season isn't that crazy he's got a six ER on the season that is that is really a such a Fallout as first pitch O'Neal Cruz is going to drill one to uh the third baseman in the shift unfortunately right at him and just like that the Pirates are uh down with two away here in the eighth inning trying to add on here Zan cronin's got a 96 mph hour fast ball I don't know for some reason I was like so into this game really enjoyed watching this game shout out to Dereck Shelton Who by the way the Pirates really don't like Derrik Shelton uh at least their fans really don't like him that's going to be uh shallow Fly ball for Christian pose so a nice ending right there from Dean cron in eight pitches uh and and we're taking it here to the top the nth let's see if the Miami Marlins can rally here the Pirates fan she's into it with the yellow PGH hat but yeah six ER for David Bednar this season really really tough 22 walks compared to 51 strikeouts um eight home runs is crazy man eight home runs of 51 Innings that sucks man he's got great stuff he really has great stuff right there 97 on the edge he's been one of the best and most consistent closes over the past like I think since 2021 that one's going to be drilled down the line and just P the diving third baseman and that's going to be a lead off double for the Miami marins a good piece of hitting right there from a Lopez I think that was a slider and he just gets it down the line of good effort by again I think that's Jared triola at third base CU Brian hay is not playing in this game and the Marlins hey we're into it let's go Miami we we got none we're trying to salvage the final game of this set losing the first two games of this set and now we got the man Jake Berger he's going to be first pitch swing in and that ball is going to eat up the short stop Isaiah Connor FFA come on ikf ikf I I just checked his baseball because I was wondering I'm like isaah kind when I watched him in person he's been their short stop for I think well I watched the game like a month ago and he was shortstop he's continued to play short stop I think I watched another game a couple weeks ago he was there short stop so I'm assuming that most of the time with o crw struggling he's been at he's been at Short Stop but his baseball Savant is still like decent he grades him out as a decent defensive player obviously he's been in the Outfield he's been a third base second base um this year but uh apparently he's been a not a bad Defender which when I watch Isaiah Conor F I love him but doesn't strike me as a great short stop doesn't sh as a great short stop um so now we got first and second that was a tough play that ball was hit hard by Jake burer now we got Jonah bride up to the dish Jonah Jonah Jonah Brad got the nice sport glasses 98 top of the Zone David Bard's locked in right now 02 is he going to go fast ball or is he going to go slider let's go curveball nasty at 79 perfect location man I mean 98 top of the Zone then he drops off that hammer curveball that's a Hammer Hammer curveball really good sequence right there to Jonah Bryan now we got the number five hitter Jesus Sanchez I think that was a cutter um I think let let's see that looked like that might be a change up honestly it might be a change up and now 2 miles an hour regardless that pitch looks like it was really really good um and we're going to see a replay of Jesus Sanchez's back swinging yeah you're going to see right there it's going to hit Joey Bart in the head really really really bad Joey Bart are going to end up staying in this game which I mean shout out to Joey Bart but that's something that could easily cause a concussion easily cause a concussion they didn't really even give him that much time I think it was like two minutes just check on him right back into the game so uh Joey Bart really dogged it out so 0 and one David pedar is going to go 99 low and away Jesu Sanchez kind of all over the place he's got a really uh like not it's just a it's just a crazy not a crazy swing I I just like to call it doesn't seem like a control s he's free he's being himself he's calm in the Box he's doing a lot of movement B he's he's he's taking he's taking big hats which I love I I love Jesus Sanchez's swing but sometimes it's a little bit too crazy O2 bedar top of the Zone 99 we blow that we blow that we blow that by you come on now Jesus you can't catch up man you can't catch up that's a tough feeling man that's a tough feeling that's a tough feeling so now with two away we have got Christian pase back up to the dish Let's Go Christian first pitch is going to be a good curveball but he's not going to get the call right there a check swing on 98 low and away he kind of saw that a little bit hesitant all right let's lock in let's re let's recalibrate ourselves let's drive the baseball be aggressive here Christian good take right there he saw that pitch I recognize it I take it I'm backing this at that 2-1 look fast ball middle pase is GNA get a fast roll over he's mad he knows it he wanted that fast ball you can tell I'm getting a fast ball here I turn on it just got over it a little bit and rolls it over yeah you could see him also doing this he wants to drive that baseball the right field Let's Go Christian you could see yeah I mean there's no one here I mean that this is the type of baseball game like love this man you could literally talk to the players I I remember like I think I was at a Yankees game and I was just I was just like talking to any player I they weren't like responding but like I'm pretty sure most of them could hear me um 22 two away we're going to go fast ball 99 top of the zone and is drilled into center field that's going to score Otto Lopez from second base and the Miami Marlins are back in this ball game one out one strike away from losing it and Christian pase after uh rolling over on that 999 mire fast ball up and inside he gets one even more upstairs and he puts a really good swing on it lining it up the middle he is excited really good swing by pase man ikf almost got there those are the types of plays like that that's an incredibly difficult play for Isaiah Conor FFA but it's the type of plays that like uh like a an elite Short Stop would make and of course he's not at least shortstop but it's the type of plays that he just doesn't have the range for uh to be anob shortstop in my opinion I I love I though but David bner kind of with a sassy walk with a sassy walk back to the dugy Jaylen beats coming in here former Tampa Bay Ray uh D Bard first pitch is going to be just called upstairs Ball but I love this I love this so much oh my goodness man oh my goodness man you do you know the th those football um things I don't know they might do it for baseball as well but like like they put kid voices in and like oh my like they talk as kids on the field and they like change the voice but this is like a kid having like a temper chanta put on the hood and then hm oh my goodness I'm mad I'm sorry I love you David that was disrespectful man but that's just what I thought of so Jaylen beats here kind of like Gio with the arm he holds it back and that's going to be 96 miles I didn't realize Jaylen be throws as hard maybe just increases velocity but 96 inside blown by Kyle Stowers a guy who struggled since coming over from Baltimore in that I think Trevor Rogers sh I'm pretty pretty sure yeah I think that was the the trick Trevor Kyle Styers and Conor Norby in that deal now he's going to get a call a 96 low low and Away really good pitch man really good pitch love that pitch that freezes Kyle Stowers now one two you can go anywhere you can go fast ball upstairs you can go uh slider low and Away slider low away Lefty Lefty right here is a really really really good option he's going to go back to his fast ball and that is going to be fielded by Nick Gonzalez but he is not going to have any play so now the bases are going going to be loaded a nice backhand by Gonzalez he initially wanted to go to second base Kyle starus has got good speed he's going to get there he opts not to even try to throw to first base and now we have savier Edwards the switch hitting short stop for the Miami Mar let's come for Xavier come on now 95 top of the Zone down two here let's throw strikes here calm down I think that's Yas ground oh no that's Joey bar behind the there calm down here 96 that ball is going to be flown into right field playable and caught by Brian De La Cruz and the Pirates are going to hold on the Marlins could have won that game man they really could have won that game David berar almost sells it Jaylen beaks comes in there um I wouldn't say he gets lucky he made some good pitches honestly he didn't really he didn't get lucky he made some good pitches um and he was able to get out of it but the Marlins almost put together a rally that's just classic Mo baseball in September Wednesday Day game between two teams that are out of it and it's just the stuff that I love so before we end this video I would like to uh quickly just talk about uh some some playoff matchups that we potentially are going to get um I haven't really uh over the past two and a half three weeks really been as locked into watching as much baseball as I have been over the past couple years uh being at college for the first time so um I I really I I haven't been like totally out of the loop of everything but I'm mainly just watching the stuff that I'm doing breakdowns on um and and that that's really it I'm jumping again every now and then to other games when I have the time but it's just not as often as I I once was but um just just some things that I want to talk about the NL wildcard race has been really really really competitive the San Diego Padres and the Arizona Diamondbacks I think there was a point like maybe two months ago but it might have been like one and a half months ago where both of them just got steaming steaming steaming hot the Diamondbacks lineup is so hot right now Corbin Carroll has been one of the best hitters in baseball over the past month catel Marte continues to do his thing aeno Suarez has completely turned his season around Jack Peterson continues to be Jack Peterson hit the ball well Jake mccard is doing his thing their pitching stats been great their Bullpen has always been really really great and the Diamondbacks a team that was sitting around 500 for most of the Season 82 and 64 have really established themselves as a very very very great team and a dangerous team just like they were last year going into the playoffs actually know what funny I think they won into the playoffs last year with 84 wins I'm pretty sure and they're already at 82 um and we've got what like 20 games I think left yeah we have around 20 games left so they could easily get over over 90 here um as they continue to stay high uh the Padre's Louisa rise has not had a strikeout in I don't even know what the stat is it's like 130 at bats or something like that he has not had one strike down Lisas is so fun I was just watching the highlights of all of his hits he's one of the most fun out bats and just best pure hitters that I've ever seen I've love Luis Raz for a long time he he he's gone over to San Diego and he's been so great for their team and the Padre is a team that sustained a lot of injuries uh has has con stayed consistent this season their their pitching staff with Dylan C who has really carried the bulk in that um uh that starting rotation um they got Joe mro back they just recently got U darish Back Matt Waldren continues to do his thing Michael King is having a phenomenal season in their rotation and the PES are a team that I mean last year had so much bad luck and you look at their team last year their roster and you you look at this their team this year their roster last year was substantially better and this team has been so much better than they have looked last year um but like we saw in 22 this is a team that I think could easily U make an NLCS run a World Series run um and like it seemed like the Brewers like the Padre's can easily beat the Brewers the Dodgers uh the the the the playoffs are going to be so so electric this year like with the Padre's the Mets are the Braves the Dbacks the dodging the fields I'm I'm sorry Bru you're just not doing it for me me personally I I love I love what they do but I I don't see this team doing anything in October um those five teams are all teams that can easily win the six teams the the Braves I still think are very very dangerous they've been great this season um but like the Cubs Cubs are out of it the Cardinals disappointing season Once Again not surprising uh the Reds the reds man the Reds sustain a lot of injuries but ell Cruz is having uh one of the best seasons I still I still think this team next year uh if they stay healthy I I think they could be a great team the Kansas City RS y' can we talk about the Kansas City RS man this team is so good this team is so good this is one of my favorite teams going into the playoffs easa I think behind my favorite team the Casey RS are my second team I I absolutely love this team their rotation is Elite their lineup is Elite man picking up Tommy fam uh who do they who else they just picked up some other guy uh some random ass guy man who I but Tommy fam just come in there be my be be our lead off hitter and I I don't know if he been that good I I've seen him have a couple 0 for four games in the leadoff spot but Tommy F's a playoff player an absolute playoff player man the Tigers has sneakily put themselves kind of back in it three games back they have a chance the twins have not been playing good baseball um and the Tigers have been very hot a team that sold at the deadline um I I haven't really watched a lot of Tigers baseball but I just recently saw Montero uh one of their starting pitchers uh has been one of the best pitchers in baseball um and had a recent really really great start uh so the AL should be really good the Cleveland Guardians are a dangerous team the the rose are a dangerous team I don't know if I love the twins but the twins have been a a very very respectable and great team they've been better than I thought they were going into the season their lineup is a lot better than I thought and their pitching staff uh their Bullpen Elite really really great Bullpen but the rotation it it's it's more topheavy and they're top guys um and Pablo Lopez Joe Ryan bayy o they're good but I don't know if they're really great I love Pablo Lopez but um outside of that there's not a lot of guys that I I love in their starting rotation at least but um the the the playoff race is going to be electric I'm so excited we're gonna um do a do a a playback TV game of the week um I think coming this weekend so I'm super excited if you made it this far I appreciate you uh I love you thank you for watching
