#Eagles 53-Man Roster: Locked In or Still Room to Move?

[Music] yo yo yo welcome back to the no cut Sports podcast with your host n Frasier and today we got a few things we need to talk about but before we get started could y'all please like comment and subscribe to always catch this Vibe man y'all already know so as of as of today the Philadelphia Eagles have dropped the 53 man roster along with the practice squad and I do have them all listed here for you um I do want to start with the 53 man roster because um I know when I seen the roster yesterday I was like oh they didn't keep this person or oh they they did keep this person so we're just going to go through the roster first by position um and see how many people they kept I'm going to give a little commentary so just just stick just stick with me for a little bit so I'm on the offense starting with the quarterbacks of course they keep Jaylen Herz um Kenny pcket and Tanner mcke um they keep three running backs with saquin Barkley Kenny gainwell will Shipley the wide receivers they keep five with AJ Brown and Devonte Smith of course with a Jan doson Brenton cvy and Johnny Wilson um tight end they keep two with Dallas gard and Grant calcatera uh offensive tackle they keep Jordan Mada Lane Johnson Fred Johnson and Daren Canard at offensive guard they keep Landon Dickerson McKai beckon Tyler Steen and Trevor uh Keegan excuse me and that Center they keep one Center at cam jerkens now before I move on the the biggest thing that threw me off was the center um position because um as y'all know you know we don't have Kelsey anymore in cam Jer this is his first year I'm stepping in as a starter taking over for Jason Kelce um I do I do really do have him being a very good uh key piece to this to this offense this year um I know people were saying it might be a slow start um also want to see that uh that that uh that hike that little hike that they got cuz I know um Kelsey had a different way of hiking the ball opposed to cam juren so maybe that has a uh some type of effect with the offense but um cam Jurgens was the only Center that was kept and that kind of threw me off because we have no death there so but I'll get to that when I start reading off the uh the practice squad players but on defense we have at e rusher where they kept six with Bryce Huff Josh SWAT Brandon Graham Nolan Smith jix hunt and and Patrick Johnson who I really like and I'm glad that he got on the squad um defensive tackle with a Jaylen Carter my boy Jordan Davis Milton Williams Mor Moro ojamo excuse me Marlon to to oh God to to palut I do apologize man and Thomas Booker I fourth um linebackers they keep five with Devon white Zack Bon noobe Dean Jeremiah troter Jr and Ben Ben van summeran excuse me uh quarterback they keep Darius Slay Isaiah Rogers Quin Yan you already snow key Ringo coup Deville and Eli R which is another one I really wanted him to keep um safety Reed blinkers ship CJ Garner Johnson James Bradberry avonte Maddox Tristan McCullum which is another guy I'm glad they ke uh kept excuse me um kickers he keep one with Jake Elliott of course long Snappers Rick Lavado with the punter being Braden man um Reserve uh reserved SL injured so I know it might have been a few it's been a few days since I made a video but wide receiver annai Smith who I've been pulling very hard pause for him to make this team but I've really been pulling for him to make this team he goes out um last game which he did pretty well uh preseason wise um but he did pretty well in the game and he ended up leaving the game had to go get an MRI after the game things like that so he ends up on the injury reserved and I think those guys is that yeah at the least they missed four games okay so excuse me so will be missing four games along with tight end Albert uh Albert o I can't never say his last name um who was also out and I think he had to get a surgery on his shoulder or something like that or his Peck I can't remember I do apologize for not having that information but I do think I heard uh shout out to Eagle Al um I watched a couple of those guys this morning so shout out to all the content creators as well um but um that's not good um if you've been watching me following me I've been very high on Albert o I think he's a very athletic tight end um also with the with uh Kell Moore being our offensive coordinator I always been talking about him using the tight the two tight end set so um I know they were trying to keep or probably wanted to keep as many Titans or he probably wanted to keep as many Titans as possible so um so yeah they also put on uh McCollin castles and then OT L Raven Clark um then it has here um Smith and Albert o plac on IR with uh new new mechanics that allow them to still be eligible to play this season at the very least they'll be missing four games so um on reserve SL physically unable to perform is just Sydney Brown um Brown will automatically miss the eag was first games uh so he might be eligible to play by week five maybe week six but my thing is he's coming off that ACL injury and we don't want to rush that back I really do want to see him get added to this defense especially with Vic fangio and uh him being the coordinator now um I think I think he can make a difference too if he's healthy but like I said I don't want to rush that back so um going through the 53 man roster um some some players that I were a little I was a little upset that they didn't keep um before I seen the practice squad was uh Jenkins the tight end I thought he was very athletic um kind of like an Albert Albert o style type of player but he really showed um in preseason you know he can make some decent catches and things like that um blocking um I think you know he's 64 so he should be able to block um I didn't really get a chance to look at too much of his film but um yeah for the most part I liked him um who else did they who else was it Andre sin was another person that they got rid of that I was kind of upset about cuz I felt like we need a death at the safety position as well um and then Gabe Hall was another player that I was just uh not upset but I you know I have a uh an affinity for Gabe Hulk I think he can turn into something if they develop him right uh but um I'm going read the practice squad to y'all guys and some of the people I named did end up on this practice squad so or they all did end up on the practice squad so with that being said the prce squad players are TJ Jenkins excuse me EJ Jenkins Andre Sam um McMahon who they who was drafted this year that they ended up cutting but got back on the practice squad Nick Gates was another player that I thought showed out in preseason that did pretty well um Paris Campbell which is kind of it's not a surprise but I'm kind of glad he didn't get rid of Paris Campbell because I thought he had a strong Camp um you know you can't really do too much you can't you can't stop injuries know this is a physical contact sport so you can't really do too much when it comes the injuries but I did think he displayed enough talent and then in that last preseason game he showed some things of why you he should at least be on or considered to be on this uh team as a wide receiver three option um wre of course that's the proj for uh Keller Moore so he knows the the offense pretty well just in case something happens with him um but I don't think he sees the field at all to be honest with you uh with Kenny picket and Tanner mcke who um I need to talk about as well um I do think Tanner mcke is the better option Over Kenny picket I seen a lot of people you know going you know going in on Kenny Pig and I'm not I'm not here to destroy no players but I do think that that um the team probably should gear more to tner M yeah tner mcke because um I just see more of a upside with him um I know they talk about Kenny picket having smaller hands and you know he wears two gloves and I hear Philly 500 you know cracking his Jes and stuff like that Kenny flicking but um still good to have man I don't think you know it's the strongest QB room um but I do think Tanner mcke should should be considered you know QB too but moving on um they got wide receiver Marcus uh Rose rosem me rosem me uh Jack I think I think I wrote his name wrong something Saint Jack Saint I think it is or something like that but um Brandon Smith they got Jack stck who was released by the Giants yesterday if I'm not mistaken uh Kaden Sterns as y'all know we we acquired him from Denver and then not I'm sorry not Denver uh the Panthers well not even the Panthers I don't think I think he I think he's just a free agent if I'm not mistaken because he didn't pass that physical but you can correct me if I'm wrong and then lak vak vakali vakal oh GE Christ vakari I think that's how you say it and that's the the Australian guy that came over here through that program at the a I can't remember the name of I do apologize so those are the guys that are on the uh roster for this upcoming season as y'all know next next Friday the game uh in Brazil will be held um I should be live for that I'm hoping to be live for it hopefully nothing comes up man but um some some some good things to look forward to man I'm glad some of these guys that did get cut or weaved ended up back back on the team um such as you know EJ Jenkins like I said earlier and Andre Sam Gabe Hall as well um Jack stall another like I said tight and heavy um with some of the schemes that Kell Moore does like to use so glad to have Jack stall back but um a ni Smith though I want to talk about uh for the most part um with me it's it's it's I'm glad he's still on the team but I do need him to show me something I know how we had the press conference talking about you know uh that you know he ended up getting injured but he was showing some promise you know during these latter these latter uh days of uh training camping in the preseason game so um I'm glad to still have him here um I know he did have you know like I said he didn't have the the best start the training camp but as the training camp went on I felt like he you know he developed a little bit more you know he probably was nervous you know coming off of an injury hopefully that the injury he does have now or that he sustained at this moment in time doesn't hold him out too long but he will be missing those four weeks um so that should get him up to speed too as well we're missing some of some of Camp hopefully um uh but I know like uh the vision like I seen in that last preseason game and I seen the juking ability the uh the agility that he has that I saw in college on film and I was just like you know if somebody can work with this man they can or the wide receiver coach can work with him I think he can be a key piece of this offense um somebody else that I like this that I had liked when I watched the game or the preseason game was Ben van summeran um I think these last couple of games he's really just been flashing and flashing um he had like a goal line a tackle uh had a sack in that game if I'm not mistaken and um his pass shorts moves too as well man very handsy I think are pretty pretty are developing pretty well so um that's good to see man cuz um starting off during the season not during the season but during training camp we well at least a lot of us were talking about the linebackers um you know Devon white being a kind of not unproven but you know last year wasn't his best year going through some things with Tampa um you got uh noobe Dean who started flashing started flashing as of the last couple of uh couple of weeks which is very good to see him going into his uh was this his third year if I'm not mistaken so um showing some promise there at the linebacker area um Orin Burks as well I think he was I think Orin Burks as well made the made the practice squad and he was another player that I seen in preseason that that flashed man he almost had an interception as well um you know he's coming back off that knee injury where he missed all of training camp and um you know I know like I said injuries happen but um you know he don't got to he don't got to step into a starting role you know what I mean give him some time you know to play that play the death position you know let him learn let him gain the knowledge that he needs because this is a uh you know I don't want to say abnormal but a different defense that Vic fangio runs um especially with his linebackers they have you know different you know jobs to do on different scenarios and stuff like that which which all the players do but um yeah for the most part man I just think he just showed promise um that whole linebacker room has just been showing showing a lot of prise so um seems to be that excuse me that Howe likes who he has um I know that they had a uh was it nnest I can't think of my Man's last name but the linebacker from the Rams who ended up getting traded yesterday I think if I'm not mistaken um but people were saying maybe the eal would have interest in him but you know they seem to be cool who they have um another player that they talked about was Nolan Smith who I'm still very high on but he they said and I understand he didn't play well some of the things he did you know he didn't play well okay but me personally like you can't take away like yeah you know he had two sacks but they were like you know unblocked saxs you can't take that off the you can't take that away from him but you can build on top of that that's why my whole thing is with a lot of these players sometimes the confidence you know what I mean you're going against you know guys that been in the league for a long time and um you know you're coming out of college you might not cuz I and I will say this I'm not seeing the past rushan moves that I wanted to see from Nolan Smith um I know he was going to training camp and stuff like that and he you know in can't you heard his name here and there you know flashes and stuff like that but it's not consistent enough for me to be you know fully trustworthy in him but I do think with him getting more reps that he'll be able to go out there and get a feel for the game feel for what he needs to do um he has that get off speed like how we spoke about his recent press conference um I just think you know they just got to work with him you know every player that comes out of college won't be a Jaylen Carter won't be and we haven't seen quinan yet but it seems to be that quinan has been picking up very well on the different positions that he's been playing so um you know it's just it's just it's just a learning curve for some players so I do hope to see that Nolan you know gets it together as the year goes on because we really do need him um along with Bry and the rest of those guys because the edge is something that I'm kind of not worried No I'm going be honest I'm worried about it yeah I ain't gonna lie to you I'm worried about it because I need that passw to get home man it was it was it was very it was very wild last year just to sit there and watch you know the Eagles play especially with them still having Fletcher Co coocks and all that that that pass rush wasn't getting home like it should so um and then the coaches that we had you know weren't the best um shout out to sha deado man I can't really be too upset with sha desad because he would make his adjustments but Matt Patricia it just went all downhill from there with him so um so yeah man it is what it is but you know hopefully we see those guys step up and that pass R gets home cuz that's going to be that's that's the defense man so um another player that's on defense like I spoke B earlier that I'm glad that they kept was Tristan McCullen that I saw on that game or the last few games flying around got a uh got a got a knack for you know Finding where that Ball's at and then you know just breaking up plays breaking up pass plays stuff like that um good tackler uh so that's something that you know that you want to see um I know we talked about James Bradberry on here as well is he goingon to get you know traded is or they gonna keep him well you see that he made the 53 man roster um like I I've said in many of my videos you know it's kind of conflicted but at the at the same time you know I'm a man understand you know we all fall short of some things but um I want to give Bradberry a chance to see what he can do I mean I know also that contract that money was probably hard to move um trade wise and um they probably wanted too much the other teams probably wanted too much for him but at the same time like I said he's here um ain't too much to complain about like I said if the season starts and we see what we saw last year then you know we can complain but at this moment in time I will not complaining about James Brad I'm I'm glad that he's still on the team and um I wish nothing but the best for him I really hope he can you know add some knowledge to those uh those younger guys in that room so um another player that also played was Coop DeVille AKA Cooper deine now um Cooper dein looked a little rusty of course he hasn't played since uh what was that November last year um when he was still in college and uh you know take some time to to to get get acclimated uh readjust to the game speed especially NFL speed where everybody's just as good so um I like I like as the game went on I liked how he progressed with uh his playmaking skills did look like he got beat on a couple a couple uh couple pass plays but his recovery speed is very decent I will give him that so um so it's just you know he got beat you know it is what it is but it's it's part of the game man it's his first game first preseason game um you know you might be nervous you might got the Jitters whatever the case may be uh so so so you just got to monitor that but I do think with CP DeVille being out there um a lot of those other guys too like the defense like I like we talk about being worried about the defense which we should be but at the same time I think with Vic being here and then the guys that they ended up keeping like your uh what's my Avante Maddox um who has the talent is more or less just can he stay on the field and um if he can stay on the field along with like ncoe Dean um a lot of those guys that get injured like they have the talent it's just that they can't get on they can't stay on the field so those two guys that I named right there on that defense man could definitely make a difference too um uh who else is there somebody else back there CJ too is another guy I'm thinking about as well CJ um helping that safety room as well um because he because he really knows how to play the position I know James Bradberry is is new to the to the to the to the room but you know still having that corner experience and then now you know pairing that with the safety stuff that he's learning with the safeties and stuff like that hopefully that he can pass that down as well so um some good things man you know I can't complain um Jan doson I know I talked about him I don't I know I said I was G to make this long but it seemed like be carrying you know him but um Jan doson just another player that um they added to this offense too man that I can't wait to see um he had gave his press conference as well uh I want to say yesterday or the maybe the day before yesterday I can't really remember but I know he gave his press conference and um it's just you know hearing what he was saying you know he I feel like he he he needed a new you know new change of scenery um CU they said they had promised him you know that he would he wouldn't be traded he ends up getting traded to the Eagles and um you know I don't know because I heard how rosan say in his press conference and I want to talk about that as well but um I Heard howy Roseman say in his press conference that um you know I got somebody asked him if if if how do I want to say this like did y'all both wi in a trade or I forget how they worded it but he how he made it seem as though like they wanted to get rid of him like it wasn't like you know you know was like they were pinched for anything or anything like that but they they seem like they wanted to get rid of Jan Dawson maybe just in fit What You Know Dan Quinn new regime coming in there um didn't fit the scheme that he was looking for so um him being a defensive coach maybe we just didn't see you know what he wanted to see any him so um let him go let him come here but like I said before I don't know what defense that's out there that is going to be able to stop all three of those wide receivers along with um you know saquin in your backfield Jaylen Herz still having the ball and then you got Dallas Gard long as he can stay healthy so um it's going to be it's going to be a very interesting season um I might as well just talk about it while I'm on here talk about you know the the first week the first uh the first week uh in Brazil I'm expecting I ain't goingon to lie to y'all man I know you know they got Green Bay got some players over there but I'm really expecting this offense to get to a hot start um I think they can man but the biggest thing with me like I said it would be the defense so I just want to see how that defense uh withstands you know Green Bay Green Bay's offense Jordan love he's been playing in the preseason so I know they're going to be fresh those guys will be ready to go our guys ain't really been able to play man and um that was something else that I didn't really like I thought you know Nick serani was talking that stuff last year like he was going to switch it up but he didn't switch it up so it is what it is man but that press conference that they gave and that's what I wanted to talk about before I got off of here um I and I'm not going to put the clips up in there because I've been getting copyrighted uh nothing crazy but I just been getting copyrighted and I don't want to keep doing it they delete my channel whatever the case may be but um they were talking about they asked first off they had asked how a question right and um for whatever our reason you know they had had asked how you know about I guess cutting these players and things like that and you know how hard it is cuz coaches want certain players and then you know the front office wants to draft e so it seemed like there'd be a little bit of clash in there when they had asked how that question because and I don't think anybody even talked about this but Nick serani just bued in and was like you know a lot of these coaches you know since the beginning of Camp they picked some of these players they've been working with these players and not to say that how we don't care about the players in that way but you know the coach's relation relationship is a little bit different than your GM relationship for the simple fact that like I said you're working with these the coaches work with these players every day you see the progression you might think that they're getting better but the front office might think something totally different so um and I think I heard Fred Johnson said that in his press conference where he was like you know the front office has actually seen the work that I'm putting in so um him making that uh that 52 man Rost or 53 man roster excuse me um was very you know very very uh important to him so um but yeah man but it just seemed like when like Nick just cut hoe off and you see this look that hoe gives Nick and it's just like hope I'm just hoping that everything and that's that's the point I'm trying to get at I hope just everything is okay between the two of them because with Howie not with Howe but with uh excuse me with uh Nick serani taking that back seat um with the offense uh play and things like that and then we also talked about when they were drafting like how much influence does Nick Shani have on the players that he wants to have come to this team um like like they showed a clip of just you know Nick just rolling in during the uh the draft or the D into the War Room whatever the cas is and uh like you know just whatever it is you know it's whatever you know what I'm saying I'm here you know and they already had made a few picks so I don't know how much involvement he has in that but I will say that that is definitely something that we do need to monitor because I I can't I can't get on here and not keep it real with y'all like that is something that we got to monitor because I said it before I like Nick serani but I don't feel like he has that personality where he can just let it go like you know what I mean it's going to play on his mind and he's just going to have to do something so hopefully nothing happens but I just thought that was a little you know just threw me off a little bit when he did that cuz I seen that look at how he gave him and then you know he continued on saying some things and it just sound like he was like kind of shading what what what Nick serani said or maybe I'm reading into it too much I don't know so with
