Memphis vs UNA Post Game: Chandler Martin and Mario Anderson Jr

how were you to see I was hurt not going to lie I thought I was going to have another one like South Florida uh I saw the tackle in my my left I was like I can't get caught so I pick my knees up and thought I'd scored but as long as we can get off the field for the defense that's all that's matter just getting to out there and then you with Jordan as a DC what did it kind of feel like did it feel different uh it feel great honestly uh coach henin and the the defensive staff does a great job preparing us every week um if we don't if we have a call that doesn't allow us to play fast we throw it out so coach does a great job allow us to think less and play faster so it was great and I'm glad we put out a shout out for Coach Han first job this your first tiger walking first game here Walkers be experience walk it was an amazing experience um a great atmosphere good crowd came out and everything um the 901 has a great support system and I'm grateful and blessed to be here um I'm thankful every day to compete with guys like Chandler every single day at practice and be able to come out and show the fans all the hard work that the team has been putting on display every single day Mario what's your shift in mindset now obviously sudden going down you know being a dual back system to you looking like the primary guy um I haven't really thought put much thought into that um I'm more so worried about how Sut is doing um I actually been trying to focus on being where he was at the whole time um and just you know keeping the other guys up because obviously that's a bum situation that you know he went down so um I'm not really worried about that right now um I'm praying for him I hope for the best and everything I don't know what's going on with him just yet but as soon as I know you know I'm going to be all in for him hey CH two question first how do you feel to get a shut out and also how do you Cate you don't take it for uh it was great to get a shut out win just to to show that we dominated on defense that we can be a dominant defense and we will be a dominant defense is is great just for us as a unit and for the fans as well and it was just a great experience I'm glad we could pitch the shut out and um I really celebrate win the same way as Seth Connor I go out to eat with my family we gonna try to get some food before it's too late um lay down and hang out kick my feet up so how important is it for you see other guys football and everybody step up how much does that help your game and how you like to play uh it helps me tremendously because football is the ultimate team sport you need everybody and if my D linan steps the wrong way no tackles for me so I give just as much credit to PJ Lucas Whit low and all those guys on the defense as much as like I give my tackles I give it all to them so just very appreciative as the unit and how we played as a unit so what were your expectations for yourself just kind of coming into this season knowing he had something next year what his skill set is how does all that change now if he is I mean everything as far as personal goals and preferences and stuff like that that's out the one that's offseason talk I I feel as though now that we're in season um everything is more towards a team and a goal we have a thing called one goal and you know that's what we go by every single day and that's Championship so as far as what I had going on or what I think or what I wanted or anything along the lines of that I mean that's offseason talk and I don't really get into that and like I said before I'm praying for S and um you know I hope he's back out there because he's a major key factor into the game plan and in his offense and on his team been the leader this defensive unit how do you keep your guys Focus every play because you know what's at the end of end of the season how you keep FOC small um I think it's go play bypl uh on the defense we go by dark side we expect nobody to give us anything we play with a chip on our shoulder every play uh just to be honest we weren't that good on defense last year and I take that personally so I tell my guys all the time like we going to be good on defense this year and we're not going to have to let the offense score 50 points or we're not doing that no more like we just take pride in every play and we'll let the results take care of what do you feel like kind of off that way you feel like is different this year comp the last when you guys what's different the it's a lot of little things that we missed out on last year um we're honing in on all the little things because I wouldn't say as much different I just say we learned as a unit uh how good we could have been last year cuz I felt like we could have been just as good but I just think we learned from the little things and we just not taking it for granted this time so
