REACTION | Scott Quigley Post-Altrincham Win

quigs uh one-nil win today against alrm away from home what's your thoughts on that one it was uh conditions weren't great were they bit windy um Pitch was really nice you fa um the alled to come up here last year and said it was a bit pitch W great but looked after it this year and it did out the conditions a little bit but um all like G said then it's all about coming here and coming away with three points and thought we dug in at times and I don't think they really hurt us but I don't think we really hurt them apart from the goal so it was a bit of a ring game and sometimes you come out of them on top and sometimes you don't so happy to come away obviously the first half was mainly sort of played around in the middle of the park as a striker is that sort of tough for you to get not involved but is it tough when that happens um yeah we just got changeed the system a little bit this year um so the rotation there as well but uh yeah I just you know what get games like that and it's it's it's hard even controlling the ball sometimes it's swirling in the wind for both teams and I think when you it comes to you like you just got to make the most of um the opportunities when you get it and cuz there going to be few and far between but I thought we were thought we were really really structured today and we um we were good in we're good in the in each box I think defended well and probably feel a bit hard done by but it's football been on plenty plenty other end to them ones and we've lost and just nice to Come Away with back down to Hampshire with three points yeah and uh obviously so we scored late on today whereas in the week we scored quite early on do you find it sort of different dealing with those different types of games yeah goal sa games don't they so uh I think today it was nice to score so late and look at the clock where you've probably got 20 minutes left on the other end scoring so early um probably the game plan goes out the window for both teams when you score so early uh as in when we score so early defensive line you but you still got to have that threat on the break or try and go that second third goal and that's where good teams will put teams to bed especially this league with only the one going up automatically you have to be at it every week and to come here and take three points is a a big bonus and uh clud it to to us to be fair yeah and obviously Paul Mallen wasn't here today um would you say you sort of had to play a bit of a different role to sort of work around that yeah i' probably I've taken up a little different role playing with Maka um probably run a little bit more uh but yeah Mak is great when when he's in the team and he's obviously supported when he's not but I think not just him so s's a great Runner Brin is really good today today brins has been really really good uh so far since he's come in obviously Lou and Cory were great the other night and obviously unfortunately didn't um keep the place this week but obviously like G said there's a lot of games to play Rotation and uh if we're going to win this league or get promoted or what whatever the it's uh it's going to take a group effort so like I said it's a group win today and we just got it's a quick turn around it now s but yeah looking forward to it so yeah obviously you just mentioned looking ahead Sut obviously two days time we're playing there we got a travel back uh what's your thoughts going into that one another tough one see couple of familiar faces good team good set up tough team uh just come down obviously but like every single game you can't 24th will be first in the league no problem in this league and so just looking forward to obviously that quick turn around get back on the BS get home quick recover as fast as we can and then actually know we're into sun and got Gates head after that so yeah it's been a long and fruitful month for us but no I'm gladly gladly enjoy it and uh I said BR to see fans here miles away from them expenses and they got really got behind us today as well so all appreciate and we're going to need him come uh come May so let's see what we can do together brilliant thank you [Applause]
