Caitlin Clark SECURES ANOTHER TRIPLE DOUBLE As Indiana Fever Win Again. Wasn't Pretty, But We Won.

points 10 rebounds 10 assists kayln Clark continues to prove that she is the best rookie to ever grace the WNBA k Clark is now the youngest player in WNBA history to record multiple triple doubles folks after the first quarter everybody in the venue was telling me Kaylin Clark is on triple double watch kayin Clark is on triple double watch and sure enough you play out the entire game kayin Clark 24 points 10 rebounds 10 assists the last rebound came in the last 24 seconds Kelsey Mitchell had no idea what was going going on trip triple double time folks and no no no no it was not stat Patty the game was still close and the re and the ball actually jumped off the rim in Caitlin Clark's Direction so if you guys want to come to my chat kayin Clark's that padded I'm going to say that the first player in WNBA history to have a season recording 200 or more assists or 100 or more three pointers both in the same season Kaylin Clark is absolutely killing it not only this rookie year but coming back from break she is on a heater averaging 25 points n and a half assists and about six rebounds per game Kaylin Clark delayed not denied delayed not denied kayin Clark isn't the only one who had herself a game today Aaliyah Boston Aaliyah Boston decided to join the party we're going to get into that Force into that first quarter we're going to get into that first half of just force feeding the ball I saw it but at the end of the day we do need Aaliyah to step up so Aaliyah shout out to you 24 points 14 boards four assists four for five from the three throw line 10 for 16 from the field I didn't see too many missed bunnies I saw you at least being aggressive you still need to toughen up you still need to lose that pink hair but Aaliyah shout out to you joining us joining lead shoes just wasn't really clicking like we've seen the past four or five games or so and Kelsey Mitchell to her credit she was the only one with playing with any emotion out there yelling at guys dantis at all tonight but she played 14 minutes I felt like I didn't see her at all but she played 14 minutes that should tell you about the impact dantis had on the game no hate dantis no hate tamy if you guys weren't aware she was out hurt her shoulder last game so no tamy F benley and we saw early on some of these defensive rotations tamy we missed you tamy we wish you a healthy recovery we want to see you back we need you back please get healthy and come back for a playoff run Erica wheeler Eric wheeler got some minutes today not too bad minutes if you ask me Katie Lou Katie who Katie Lou Katie Katie Lou samelson she was in the lineup today in the rotation I think it's because tamy wasn't there I need to see Katie Lou more hitting her shots more on Def I need to see it more now I'm come out out of syn and we come out Force feeding the ball in the paint now I understand we might want to get Aaliyah Boston's confidence going I understand we might want to get her into a rhythm when it comes playoff time but if it's not broke don't fix it in my opinion Aaliyah Boston's kind of been taking herself out of the game she's been trying to playmake too much she's been trying to slip screen too much when we came out for the break the good El of Boston games that we saw was her and kayin Clark running pick and roll she said a big body screen not the excuse me and she would either finish in the paint or she would kick it out to Lexi Hull or Kelsey Mitchell and the offense would be in a rhythm that way however when we come out and we start Force feeding the ball you can tell the offense isn't in a rhythm it's like okay this is the objective force feed it into the paint force feed it into the paint force feed it into the force feeded it into the paint so many times we come out and we have eight turnovers in the first quarter eight turnovers in the first quarter two of them were over and backs a few of them were just forcing it over de'arra Hami why are we trying to force it forcing it over Kean nurse why are we trying to for just bad lazy passes that fortunately for us got cleaned up in the second half we come out Mitchell opens up the scoring with a layup folks we saw those back-to-back plays Clark to Boston Mitchell with the back door they haven't opened up with that play in the last three games against the Mercury we saw that play and I want to say against the Seattle Storm we saw that play and in the last three games they've been opening up something different just a note just a detail that I've been paying attention to we see it guys that Kelsey Mitchell back door is always there for us that Kelsey Mitchell back door is always there for the taking yet for some reason we we don't utilize it as much as we could so Chrissy sides your coach of the month can we please utilize that Clark to Boston Kelsey Mitchell does a v cut and hits with a back door layup we saw that once in the second half but let's open up the game with that let's get some easy buckets please Aaliyah Boston like I said comes out we're posting her up she gets a couple easy baskets in the post up Aaliyah 10 for 16 using your body getting position getting space shy went to the free throw line a few times three times I believe but eventually you will get more of those calls because you get hacked down there Aaliyah I see it you get hacked down there so christe do a little bit better job hounding the referees to get those calls without kitlin Clark or aiyah Boston being the ones to pick up those technicals so we got to work on that we had a couple blown layups as well kayin Clark had a blown layup Lexi hle Nelissa a couple bad blown layups that I'm not going to harp too much on in the first quarter but we come out turnovers defense is bad and we're lazy the LA Sparks were hitting their threes but these are wide openen threes folks these aren't like overly contested three-point shots that they're hitting they are hitting wide open threes because our defense is lazy or defense is lethargic or defense just communication is breaking down right that's that's why we like tamy as well tamy fagbenle she's a communicator out there on the defensive end she's saying hey I got you I got you I'll cover back I I'll slide switch switch switch left left Tammy F benley is a def is a quarterback of that defense Kelsey Mitchell and kayin Clark both scored seven points in that first quarter really keeping us in the game kayin Clark seven points four rebounds four assists excuse me seven points four rebounds one assist in the first quarter it only we were down only four uh coming out of the first quarter 2319 Indiana Fever were leading excuse me second quarter Los Angeles Sparks scored 29 points in the second quarter and the Indiana Fever only scored 24 what do I have written down I have turnovers equal missed layups I have Sloppy equals no pace and I have Force feeding Boston that's how the second quarter went in my eyes we looked sloppy we continued Force feeding the ball into the paint and a good amount of our turnovers resulted in points I believe the Phoenix Mercury had 10 points off turnovers at the end of the first half things that we need to clean up we had 11 turnovers in total in the first half the Los Angeles Sparks only had three some of these lazy passes some of these no disrespect Kaylin you're the goat some of these unnecessary behind the back passes Kelsey Mitchell even threw the ball to kayin Clark kayin wasn't even paying attention and that's twice that's happened in the last three games I just not paying attention this isn't the Kelsey Mitchell the first 15 game she passes now Caitlyn look up you're G to get the ball back now come on let's let's get it together Guys these are things small mistakes like this in playoff time against the lyns against the Sun against the aces these plays can't happen as frequently as they've been happening right can't happen as frequently as they've been happening third quarter comes out Kaylin Clark goes on a heer 10 points in the third quarter we get step back Caitlyn we get drive to the rack Caitlyn we get screaming let's go Ka we get the Caitlyn Clark that we all love not that we didn't see her in the first but she seemed a little bit pass happy not as aggressive in the first half right some of those were layups some of those were bad passes some of those were just standing around on offense trying to feed it to Boston so I can't hold her feet too much to the fire but in that third quarter kayin said all right let me go from Caitlyn Clark to Caitlyn Clark Kent and be Superwoman out here and that's exactly what Caitlin Clark did in the third quarter Superwoman she was in the third quarter 10 10 points one rebound one assist four for six from the field two for four from three Kelsey Mitchell joined with four points Eric Willer joined with four points but that third quarter was all Caitlyn Clark she would not be denied in that fourth quarter but guess what also folks the pace picked up we stopped forcing it into the pain so much Aaliyah Boston got her baskets through the course of the game and that brings us to the fourth quarter Aaliyah Boston eight points in the fourth quarter for Aaliyah Boston she ended up with 24 points on the night like we said eight points from Aaliyah in the fourth quarter she even went to the foul line three for five Kelsey Mitchell not her best take us home Kelsey performance but fortunately we had Caitlin Clark we had Aaliyah Boston and Alissa Smith showed up in the fourth seven points in the fourth quarter for Nelissa Smith Lexi Hull as well a couple clutch chase down rebounds on the offensive end and then like I said earlier in the podcast ice in her veins with a minute left sinks two free throws back to back to really put a nail in the Los Angeles Sparks coffin but I want to talk about a couple things before I go folks Chrissy side Coach of the Year Christie salute to you I'm not sure why we decided to play so slow in the first half I need an answer and I just don't want the answer to be we needed to get AB going I don't want that to be the answer in fact no answer is good enough in my opinion we we need to play Up Tempo that's it end of story period we need to play pick and roll basketball we need to play set Kelsey Mitchell a pin down screen so she could come off of it and hit the 15f footer that's automatic we don't need to play pounded into the paint because what's going to happen folks is that we do what we did today we come out with a win and then what we're gonna do it next game and then next game and then in my opinion this just reinforces bad behavior that is not good I'm glad that we won trust me I'm thrilled that we won but what I saw in the first half was extremely unnecessary and if we're feeling that confident as a coaching staff as a team that okay we can start trying things in the game we can start deviating game plans and adding game and changing things and instead of playing Pace in space now we're playing pounded and you know Grizzlies grind basketball with Nelissa and Aaliyah B I hope this is tonight the only night is that we see it was tonight because if we play like how we played in the first half against the aces they're going to beat us if we play like how we did the first half against the links on Friday they're gonna beat us if we play like how we played in the first half in the playoffs they're going to beat us we need to hone our skills now that we know the best brand of basketball for this team we need to play that brand night in and Night Out The Warriors don't suddenly post Draymond Green up the Phoenix Suns didn't suddenly start posting up Amari stmy no Amari you'll get your points how you get your in space and that brings me to Nelissa Nelissa you had a pretty good game today what' you have 14 points 13 points two rebounds four assists one steal two turnovers and two fouls but folks we got to stop playing patty cake when we go for rebounds Nelissa Smith had two rebounds had four rebounds excuse me four rebounds how many rebounds do you think Nelissa Smith would have had tonight if she would have used two hands to grab the ball instead of one how many rebounds would Nelissa Smith have had tonight if she goes to grab the ball with two hands instead of tapping it to the other team we saw at least two Taps to the other team today how many how many rebounds do we just leave out on the table and it's not just Smith Boston as well but Boston seemed to be able to grab the boards today but how many possessions are we giving up because we can't grab a simple rebound I want to say I saw ay sins moving Nelissa Smith out of the paint what how wh where's that happening at why is that happening that's not good we won the game but those two things need to get cleaned up when it comes playoff time I don't want to continue to test out game plans I don't want to continue to tap the ball to the other team because we can't just Corral a board and come down with it strong and I know tamy f benley is injured so maybe the rotations are a little bit out of whack but give those minutes to let me see what dantis has some more give her 20 minutes a game give her 25 minutes why do we need to have ktie Lou in there just because Tam's injured play dantis more play play five out with dantis Mitchell Hull Clark and whoever else you want to put in there wheeler I don't care but try something besides the same old same old when it comes to Nelissa Smith because if Tam's out and we're going to get this every single game tapping rebound I don't see dantis tapping rebounds folks I see her grabbing them and that's my gripe with Nelissa Smith stop grabbing rebounds I mean stop tapping boards to the other team start start grabbing them yourself stop being overzealous shooting three-pointers just pass it and go get some position or pass it and go get a screen to Lexi and free her up or pass it and cut back door or pass it and pin down for Mitchell but just cuz you have a wide openen three doesn't mean you need to take it and earlier in this season I was for you shooting those threes but 20 games later stop let's got a better quality shot at the end of the day a win is a win folks triple double for Kaylin Clark she had a great game 24 10 and 10 like I said Coming Alive with 10 points in the third quarter Aaliyah Boston finally got her going but at what cost we shall see in the future she came alive not only in the first quarter but in the fourth quarter in the swing of the game so Aaliyah those eight points in the fourth quarter huge and that's what I want to see from you so shout out to the big three of Clark Boston and of course Kelsey money Mitch Mitchell folks
