just Joshua you call me Josh Josh do you prefer Joshua Harris Sor like when we writing a story yeah sure yeah and then just real quick um you talked a lot about your family last time could you please spell just your wife's name and your doctor's name just oh yeah so my wife is Taylor Taylor Harris t a y l o r and my daughter is ISA June Harris a y l a h than what's it been like working with t what do he how has he helped you uh I would say it's been an honor you know to be able to work with those kind of guys that he's worked with and you know the experience he has so for me to be able to take that all in for my last year of college ball it's been great it's been great we've heard your name a lot as being a loud voice increasingly louder in your room can you kind of take us through the process of stepping in here kind of late in the process and getting the point where you're comfortable being that loud voice yeah so um I feel like I feel like it was a role like that like was bestowed upon me like when I first got here you know cuz they all said like we need a leader and we see you as a leader and so I feel like me coming in you know with already being like playing college ball for five years you know having two kids another one on the way you know a lot of people don't know about yet yeah so get that out there congrats so that's another reason why I really decided to come back home and don't nobody know but yeah another one on the way be here towards the end of season um but yeah it's just it was a role that I feel like that that was needed um in that position and so as a defense like me being a big guy like a lot of guys you know respect me and yeah did guys gravitate to you pretty quickly oh yeah for sure for sure I mean I don't know if y'all noticed but like I'm blow like out at practice you know I got this little slogan like we getting better and so like anytime like I beat somebody in a rep or anything like that I'm yelling at and so like I mean I a lot of guys call me a and I'd be like yeah nephew so yeah I feel like I feel like they a lot of guys do call your pops or anything like that too since you're dad what does it mean to you personally to be a leader like that to some of the younger guys on this team I mean it kind of it makes me motivated you know because I can't have a bad day and so when somebody sees a leader who's not consistent and a leader who's not you know giving everything they got every day it could just affect them so I feel like I got to bring it every day and which I feel like I have you know just talking to earlier in the year you said that you hadn't really had as much the chance to dab with the piano a little bit has that changed have you gotten back into the John Legend covers or uh no but I do uh I do kind of talk about it a little bit more you know I kind of show like uh the players in the locker room like old videos and stuff what's it been like being a father what's it been like being a father at a pretty pretty young age it's great you know a lot of people talk about how hard it is but like when I go home like no matter how bad of a day I have when I go home and I see my two kids jumping up and down so excited to see me like it brightens my whole day brightens my whole mood so I would say it's great like it has it pros and cons like everything else but I mean it motivates me it it it it just brings Joy have your tough practice going home yeah lights you up pretty quick lights me up no matter like how bad of how many Ma I had or how many times I messed up or how many bad plays like I know I'm going be able to go home to two beautiful kids smiling and happy so I love it I love being a father what their ages again Josh can you refresh my memory on that yeah so my daughter is three uh she'll be she's two she'll be three August 25th so pretty soon yeah and U my son he's one he's one right are we going to see him at some games or is that just yeah for sure I mean if y'all be they might come out to the scrimmage Saturday um but um yeah they'll we could be won't be here oh yeah I won't be here well they'll be here um they'll def be at the games for sure for sure you teaching him a four-point stance yet yeah nah from a from a time management standpoint how was that balance been obviously with the camp and then also it's great like um you know I was at the hotel so I wasn't able to be with my kids for like two weeks so I was blessed enough to have you know my own room so they would come and see me I was able to see my kids and U my wife would bring them and um but like I said like last interview like having a great wife is what makes it you know makes it all work so she makes it work and she she's a I'm able to you know come here and not have that in the back of my head like what's going on with my kids I know that they're taken care of you know so I'm able to manage it well I'm able to manage it well we talk to you last I was to say how you yeah so high school like she slid up on my yeah like it was like 10th grade like I slid up on her she slid up on my Snapchat like talking trash about like how how much stronger her dad was or something like that and I'm just like who are you and D I know right he he was he was like a bodybuilder at the time so so yeah she went to person too yeah person coming out okay so rock person both of and I seen like a little write up that it came out um I don't know who wrote it but my kid when I was in a old miss my kids were with me like my wife was with me that whole time so I don't know I like I I don't know I don't know if I'm miss readit or something like that but I don't know some like said they they stayed down here in North Carolina they were with me the whole time through the grind through the fight you know it made us stronger made me a better father made my relationship better so and how you talked about the perspective but how do you think just being a father if it all has helped you with football um that's a good question I mean I I would say it helps me it helps me like have more like I would say like more of a purpose to what I'm doing like because I'm out here and like if when I'm getting tired and when I'm thinking like I can't just think like like I don't have nobody to provide I got somebody I got to provide for now I'm not just doing this for me you know what I mean so now that I have like two kids and and and a wife and another one on the way like I feel like I got to get this you know it's not like you know I got to get this so when we talked to you last month you said one of the reasons coming here was NFL you want that to be your next step coach monino is someone that can help you now that you've had a couple three weeks of practice here how much closer to do you think you are to to reaching that goal and how has he helped you kind of take your game up a notch I feel like I'm really close you know I feel like I've been balling out every every day bringing it all I got bringing energy every day um he's helped me he's helped me with you know being more technical in the Run um coach Lindsay coach cam they helped me a lot too you know the interior guys so uh he's he's helped me a lot he's helped me a lot you know critique my game be able to focus on how to take on run blocks more and putting emphasis on certain pass rush moves and I feel like it's it's made me a lot a lot closer to my goal and going sorry going back to the beginning you said that you feel like being a vocal leader is kind of bestowed upon you and people said we need a leader they just deemed you as a leader who are those like people specifically that you yeah I mean um you know like when I was just on visits and stuff like they could tell like the type of guy you are like just by the way I talked they was like we can tell that you're a leader and we need we need that so they being like coaching staff or players yeah I mean yeah coaches yeah coaches not I mean not players really I mean some players you know you know tell me like hey you are you we see you as a leader of the dine room and as a you know yeah so Josh what what are your expectations for this defensive line group as a whole like what what do you see you guys doing this year some guys that have been around with this group have been criticized some in the past for not living up the potential like what do you that's one thing I will say like what we have now has is nothing to do with the past like we I I mean and I've you know I've always watched Carolina growing up you know cuz I was up here all the time when they have for door as the coach like it was always the thing so like I honestly think we going to be special man it's special because I've been to a great deal like I was at Old Miss last year we know we got guys like princ Ley JJ PES like those guys you know great guys you know great players and like the team we have here now excuse me but like like KJ tra like interior guys like that for uh VAR and then the edge you got Dez bow like game changers and it's like no drop off no drop off so like we all rotating with the bles you know so when I'm out there I know when I'm coming off and school going out there it ain't going to be no drop off and the same thing with anybody like that's that's out there right now taking reps with the blue so I think we going to be special man got time for one more if we haveen you guys good oh sorry one quick sorry I like to ask guys this but just tell me about your tattoos a little bit Yeah so uh I really like the way en this look uh I got it when I was about 16 uh it's Samoan tribel I'm actually not Samoan a lot of people don't know that about me I'm not Polynesian I'm actually black white and Mexican my mom's white and Mexican and my dad's black but I like the way it look it fits me and I used to have hair down my back too so like it was like perfect and then U yeah I got a lot of I got I love ink I got a lot of ink this is a lord PR I got my mom's name you know I got a lot of in Philippians 4:13 my favorite Bible verse I can do things are Christ as strength as me and yeah when you had the long hair that people confuse you for being poesia oh for sure for sure I remember the hair you had hair in high school right yeah I just cut it a couple months ago actually yeah all right all right right now uh 338 338 338 is that going to be your weight you think yeah I'll probably be 35 30 about the same yeah about where I'm at now okay for sure thanks thanks man
