welcome to yman Stadium in New Orleans home to the twain Green Wave and as this city likes to say let the good times roll and the two Lan fans are certainly ready for that we believe we've got a great one in store today and when you got a team that makes it into the top 25 now when you go on the road that's when you prove you belong as we'll see the number 19 team in the country the State Wildcats taking on a team from the AAC the two- Lane Green Wave for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David poock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to get this one started Kansas State ready to kick it off to get things [Applause] underway here he comes from inside his own five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 so tain's offense will take the first swing of the game here he comes and obviously a defense is always going to be aware of a quarterback but boy he finds a way to put defenses on their heels all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got the experience Jesse these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him cuz if they don't this is going to be a long day I know it's sex throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points movement here from the tight end they'll go right back to it and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play it's hard to run on a defense that comes off the ball like that and runs to the football like that good luck no holes anywhere third down and they'll need two on this initial Drive of the game to the ground to try to move the chains that just never had a chance as they controlled the middle of the field and stopped him in the back field on third down man this is a defense that Prides themsel on stopping the run and that is a huge statement on their opponent's opening drive of the game third and short they don't just get a stop they get a tackle for loss that sends a very clear message that they're going to be the more physical side today he's got great speed that's a perfect example of not settling for a fair catch pick up whatever yardage you can and help out the offense the wild cats offense will try to get something going with their first possession as we take a look at out impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the football game picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second [Applause] down they give it to him again nice move to keep moving a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior and that's what you're trying to do as a defense limit those damages when they run the football get them on the ground short gains to set your defense for positive situations down the road after the last run would you just give it to him again on third down Johnson looking to throw finds his tight end they make the stop with the sweet ru catches plenty to give him a first down and that's why play action is going to be big in this game you saw how it just freezed the second level of that defense just for a second and allowed the tight end to work himself vertically down the field but how about this guy after the catch right so hard to bring down what a weapon they'll throw it on first down that was an eyelash away from being picked off and that is not the way to set the tone with a near pick on your opening drive oh and on defense you just got to be able to finish that play that Defender had the football in his hands he's just got to catch it that should have been an interception couldn't make the connection on first down now here on second here's the handoff find to crease at the 20 and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good gain that has got to be demoralizing if you're on defense because they just ran the ball right up the middle down your throats and they gash you the wild cats are moving quickly down the [Applause] field they're going to ride this running back a seveny pickup it'll be second and three listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive gain making your situation really good on the next down going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down caught in the back field it's brown they'll get it down to the eight yd line on that throw and catch and the defense is backed up against the wall I don't know if that's the coverage you want to be throwing wide receiver screens against often times you want the receivers to have some access you want the DBS to be off a couple yards so you can help set up the blocks and give the receiver somewhere to go with it it's hard to run that against press coverage and they only picked up a few yards there he's got the tight end defense is there to make the stop but he's got the first down and they'll have it first and goal with the six how valuable is a tight end in the red area now they're set up with a first and goal I love it find the big fella down in the red area big Target works the middle of the field easier throws nice job by this offense keeping it very simple he work his way all the way down to the three and the defense is reeling offense trying to pay it off on second and goal Johnson wants to throw it unleashes to the end zone and he's got it touchdown Kansas State one of the areas they really focused on with this receiver in the offseason was we need you to make more plays for us in the end zone when we're taking shots we need to be able to step up and make tough catches and David what a grab right there and I think a lot of that has to do with trusting your guy knowing where he's going to be knowing when he's going to sit down when he's not so being on the same page and then having a guy that can go get it just when the ball is near him he's going to make the play just like he did right there for six points they'll try to add another to their lead and he's got the extra point and it's seven nothing to start this one so a drive that started just beyond Midfield only 49 yards and they finish it up with a three yd scoring toss lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] Drive he'll bring it out I imagine he's going to get an earful on the sideline after bringing it out of the end zone and being knocked down at the [Applause] 11 got the quick completion a most efficient pick up of six on first down it's second and four and frankly if that's a completion it's not going to make the end of season highlight real but in this game it could lead to a highlight re type play the offensive coordinator may be setting something big up for later in the game when with the running game on first down now back at it they'll run it on the counter they'll knock him down after a pick up of one to the 18 you know runs like this often times are like a boxer in a boxing match obviously it's not a knockout punch but these are body blows and as the game goes on these small gains are going to turn into longer runs you've got a third and manageable backed up in your own end but convert here and you get some momentum buys a little TI picks up the first down and gets down to avoid contact it it's really frustrating for a defense when when you cover that first play and you knew it was going to be a pass you cover everything short but then the quarterback just Mak something happen I mean just good luck trying to get him just that's why he plays QB that's why he's so Dynamic Here Comes Tain after picking up the first down Thompson wants to throw he's going up top he's got it downfield for a huge gain and a pick up of better than 30 yards on that completion before the defense brings him down man this offense is so dangerous re they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a Chun of yards like that now the defense is really on its heels this two lane offense has a great drive going they'll put the tight end in motion the give to the back brought down just outside the Red Zone he moves the chains it's at the 22 and that is exactly why you stick to running the football haven't had a lot of success but boom you pop one right that's what you got to do you got you cannot become onedimensional and just throw the football every down love the offense sticking to the Run nice job getting the first down might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again they make the stop but you can't give up four yards a chunk on the ground down in this area of the field it's at the 18 solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six he's looking to throw that's reeled in it's brown he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short well a nice completion there finding the tight end and what's so beautiful about that is while they didn't get the first they were able to pick up enough yards now to make the third down manageable really putting this offense in a good position really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal on Third and short they keep it on the ground here and he rolls into the house touchdown Green W and these guys just score from anywhere out there after that drive he sure looks that way and that's what separates really good offenses from great offenses when you're backed up in a bad position and you can still fight your way out and go get you a touchdown that's a great drive by the offense now they'll line up for what they hope is automatic bangs it through for an extra point and we're all square as he's set to kick it [Applause] away he'll bring it out from inside as own 10 just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance pressure got to the QB that time he was trying to find his check down out of the back field but the hit forc the incompletion let's see what they've got on second down looking for room it's gens moves up to the 34 yd line give him a 10yd pickup and that is just an attitude run running it right up the middle right into the teeth of that defense they've got a first and 10 at the [Applause] 34 Ed the play fake now to throw and he drops it just took his eye off of it at the last minute well that is one the tight end is going to want to have back he was wide open on that play that's one he's got to make he's got to be able to make that catch after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down Johnson looking to throw quickly out to the tight end they make the stop trying to pick up just a little bit at a time to get to that first down marker I think that time offensively you're just trying to take what the defense is giving you right they playing Zone coverage you got your big fella just working right over the ball it's an easy pitch and catch take the profit and let's keep going lining up trying to convert this third and short from the 40 from the gun wants to pass grabbed over the middle it's brown dragged down to the turf but not before getting the first down there's a reason third down is called the money down what a great find by the quarterback great job finding his receiver uh at the end of the game you look at third down percentages it tells a huge story and it goes a long way in deciding who wins a football game leaves it with the running back at the 40 there he goes and he was loose and in the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one on that one they decide to attack the left outside on the ground and you see the speed by the ball carrier there re picking up a huge chunk of yards and I can't imagine any reason they wouldn't just run that play again if if it ain't broke don't fix it why not just go back to the well one more time they're getting this guy lathered up relying on that running game as they threaten a pick up of four down to the 13 operating in the Red Zone here on second down [Applause] quick release by the QB they make the stop at the 5 yd line but they've got it first and goal yeah and what a nice job seeing it reacting and throwing when you run these rpos you want to read the defense really quickly is he playing Run Okay boom I'm going to throw the slant right behind him nice job by the QB and the wild cats have it with a first and goal caught in the back field it's Johnson that completion will take it inside the four and the offense is threatening great effort by the defense here offense trying to go wide receiver screen how about the speed on defense rounding to the football they've pushed it ahead to the four they'll try to cash in on second and goal Johnson wants to throw it he snares it in the end zone touchdown wild cats and this offense right now they are doing some damage through the air that's now their second passing touchdown they thought coming into this game they were going to have some matchups on the perimeter of the field that they could take advantage of and they've done that so far here today lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is true and they're on top by seven 76 yards on the drive for the touchdown and they CA the drive with a four yd touchdown pass kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to go he'll bring it out out it's barns he stopped short of the 20 at the 19 and probably wishes he' just taken the touch back Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack after standing on the sideline and watching that long touchdown Drive they really need to put something together to give their defense a rest and that's a real thing man like youve played a lot of plays you get worn out you need a chance to go decompress in the sideline get some oxygen Palmer now it's on this offense yeah this is the definition of complimentary football cuz it's a two-prong problem you've got to score points and answer but you've also got to take your time and give your defense an opportunity to get their win to the air on first down that's caught it's Preston I love early in the game getting my quarterback in a r coming out short passes easy completions now we're getting in a good spot and here comes the offense on second down he'll pull it on the [Music] read what a Nifty run there to pick up the first down there's an example of the offense taking advantage all the attention the defense is giving this outstanding running back remember he's one of the best in the game they're expecting him to get the football so the quarterback says you know what I'll just keep it no one's keying on me I'm going to get up field and find an explosive play using his legs it's Hughes he's knocked down at the 34 but they're sort of hitting them in the mouth with a sixy pick up there coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four hand off from the gun crosses the 30 to the 29 before he stopped pick up a five on the play it's a first down well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive [Music] alive Here Comes Tain after picking up the first down softened him up with a run and now to throw time running out and he goes down at the 34 often times with play action you're asking the quarterback to hold on to the ball a bit longer and you're asking this offensive line to hold up and pass Pro a bit longer against this athletic front seven on defense it's going to be tough so now on second and you start to think just don't fall out of field goal range the run to the right they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know the runner just has to have a little bit more patience he bounced that thing outside a little too early and as a result lost yards seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down looking to throw and he needs a bunch that pass is well off Target he got hit as he was trying to throw and they can't convert on third down nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion Tain forced to send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and he'd hope to pin him deep instead it will be a Touchback b a field in front of them as they open this possession from their own 20 he'll start this drive firing it's caught and he'll have enough for the first down at the 42 how about these two running games so far dominance on the ground round as we look at the first quarter [Applause] steps they've switched into the field and we're ready to get things started here in the second that's the type of explosive play you love to start a drive with first down from the 42 able to SC three yards out of that one somehow it's second and seven and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knockbacks and limiting his carries after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven wide receiver now comes in motion Johnson looking to throw and the quarterback is snowed under yeah that is a great job and listen this quarterback's had success he's already thrown for two touchdowns we got to make him feel uncomfortable this is still early in the game nice job by the def defense getting a hit on the quarterback and making him think a little bit this is a third and long looking down field and he needs a bunch and that one's incomplete and money down is where you see defenses really understand where the sticks are play great pass defense know what's coming and get off the field Kansas state will have to punt it away getting our first look of the afternoon at the punter he'll call for the fair catch here the Tain offense headed back onto the field they hope to be able to cash in on this drive David after having to punt it last time yeah and I think this def needs to start it with the first play you need to be successful and productive on that first play and it gets you in less predictable situations no doubt to don't you just feel like there's a little bit more sense of urgency on this drive it just feels like they've got to be able to put some points up on the board here good spot after that seveny pickup on first down it's second and three the playaction fake into double coverage and they made him pay it's intercept and with the interception he'll take it all the way back touchdown Kansas State look a lot of time left there's a little bit of distance right now being put on the scoreboard there is but it's so awesome when you're a defense and you study all week about what's coming and what routes to be ready for and then you jump the route and you make the plays and you just go get in that End Zone it is so beautiful they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead they're about to kick it away and the defense probably can't wait to get back out there after the pick six on the move from inside is five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 to Lane has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack well the good news is they threw a touchdown pass last time it was just to the wrong team Jesse well that's an unfortunate part of the game for quarterbacks but guess what they do happen so you've got to be able to turn the page year and Lead this offense well I think you know this defense is going to be aggressive they're going to jump routes they're going to play aggressive you got to take advantage of that maybe use that this time to your advantage trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second down from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back and he could not get loose on the Run stopping the run is very high on every defensive coordinator's list making the team one dimensional nice job stuffing the run on that play right there now looking for that first down on Third and short from the 26 motion by the back forces the defense to adjust fires to the wide out got his Man Down field ripped off a huge chunk play on that one as he gets the first down before he steps out of bounds well after that last play you can see how electrifying this guy is and how special he is after he makes the catch if I'm on offense I'm trying to find a lot of ways to get him touches in this [Applause] game here comes Tain after picking up the first [Applause] down looking to move it through the air grabbed in the back field it's Preston he's brought down solid pickup but a little bit short of the first down I like the decision by the quarterback here just get the ball out of your hands get it to your playmaker a lot of times he'll dance and make even bigger plays than he did here but it was still a positive Game T Lane looking to put one on the board from the Red Zone they move the tight end all over give to the running back slammed to the ground but not before he gets the first down I know this is an offensive line that has a ton of Pride they want to come out each and every game and really impose their will on the dline they got just enough push there on that run play to pick up the first this two lane offense has a great drive going they'll give it to him again he's drop behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three linebackers have such an amazing responsibility got to play run got to play pass how about this seeing the Run aggressively getting downhill and getting in the back field and making the tackle for a loss got some work to do on second down after that last one they need 13 now the play fake throws to the tight end got it and he's into the end zone touchdown two lane and the offense finds a way to cut into this lead they still have plenty of work to do they do but that's a big score you don't want to get late and start getting in the second half when you're fighting to come back by so many points so great job getting points get that momentum back on your side so you can come out and do some good things when you get the ball next time he'll try to tack on one more and with the extra point every little bit counts as they get closer so it's an 80 yd drive and they close the deal with a 16 yd throw for the touchdown the kickoff team out there and ready to [Applause] go here's the return from inside his 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field he'll keep it himself and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine yeah and it's a nice job by this defense understanding listen that QB is a threat and they're going to run all kinds of options and he's going to run the football they were dialed in and got that sucker to the ground here comes the offense on second [Applause] down Johnson wants to throw it dumps it off in the flats he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yardage on that play and a really nice job by the defense winning second down I think the quarterback thought he could dump this off maybe get some positive yards set up a good third down the defense did a great job responding and getting that running back on the ground third and 10 still backed up inside their own 20 this drive hasn't really gotten started feeling he lost one down the sideline and they can't hook up on the big play and that brings up a fourth down DB does an outstanding job here on the Deep pass locating the football no Pi able to swat it away pass incomplete K State sends the punt team onto the field ready to boot it away he's going to try to flip the field with this one this is a spot you see many returners try to take a chance but not this time the fair catch just inside the 40 power football with the Run they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one well the most insightful analysis I can come up with on that one is that didn't work back to the drawing board to see if there's something that works a little better soon or if I can quote the great Reese Davis that was very UNG good not a productive first down play didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 motion trying to get the defense to show its hand nowhere to go and the ball is loose and the ball dribbles out of bounds and they'll maintain possession but that's about the only good news for the offense on that play that is how you start a drive meet the physical challenge on first down rush the quarterback get the sack on second down and now put him in a third and long situation nice job by this defense they come to the line facing third and long from the 25 Thompson to throw they're trying to get to him and here comes the pressure and there he goes down again and these situations third and Eternity I I know exactly what to do I'm putting more DBS on the field I know it's a pass my best pass defenses and then I turn my pass rushers loose go get that QB T Lane forced to send out the punt unit three and out they got stuck in Reverse they hope the punt can bail them out makes a move return's going to get it up around Midfield he'll be down at the 49 yd line K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field field got out of trouble and throws snagged in the middle it's brown they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down and that's a situation right there where the quarterback is just taking what the defense gives him the defense has taken everything away down the field just take the easy throw underneath second down coming up on the ground it's gens on the move at the 30 he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down when I go into every game I want to get my running back going I want to get the ground game going and he has this afternoon over a 100 yards now showed you a little bit of everything in the Run game and that's why this offense has been hummed they're down to the 20 first and 10 right back to the well they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and the defense is going to have to have more plays like this he has had a ball game so far running wild all day long defense finally comes up with a stop maybe get a little momentum here over a 100 yards already in this game so if I'm on defense here I'm adding more guys to the Box anticipating that they're going to continue to give this guy touches today touch pass on the Jet Sweep and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that got to give the defense credit watching film anticipating they knew that this offense had this play in their back pocket they knew about the speed of this wide receiver in different ways they were going to try to get him involved everybody on defense on the same page playing together I love it Johnson looking to throw fires toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown wild cats and I think in the pre- snap I think both of these guys r on the same page they had a look defensively that let them know we can pitch this thing way down the field I'm going to go run under it and make a big play for you yeah and when I'm the receiver I'm like I'm open right I'm I'm going straight down the field throw me the football I got the speed I can beat this guy you can tell they've done that so much in practice they knew it was second nature and they executed it perfectly lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point is good for a 2814 lead a very efficient five playay scoring drive and they finish things off with a 21 yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there getting set he'll bring it out it's Mars and return man has no place to run no place to hide and a place to be tackled the Tain offense headed back onto the field this is when the pressure can ramp up a little bit on an offense David when they start feeling the heat to answer a score and I think being down 14 you can kind of feel that way but dude if you put a good drive together this is a seven-point game so Palmer no need to pay it I was just going to say David I mean this thing can flip quick you go down score all of a sudden your defense gets a stop or who knows better yet gets a turnover this game is entirely different on second down he'll try to make the connection they'll throw it to the back on the screen he's right out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down reach out too by the QB there holding the ball as long as possible allowing the pass rush to get up field and at the very last second getting it to his guy so that he can go get the first down now on First and 10 from the 26 used the play fake now to throw it's incomplete and he's lucky to get that one back almost intercepted this quarterback is living dangerously now threw a pick earlier in the game and he almost threw another one right there these windows are tight he's got to be really good with his decision making last play didn't go as planned now second and 10 from the 26 they'll try the Run couldn't fight his way out of his graas that's a great individual play and I love cornerbacks that don't just take pride in covering guys I like guys that like to put their face in the fan and affect the running game this dude is physical and he impacts the defense because of it and those guys are really hard to find a lot of Corners they're smaller they don't want any part of the physical run game nice job sticking his face in there setting the edge making the tackle and he was loose and in the the open field and on his way a tremendous pick up on that one well this offense knew coming into this game they wanted to try to attack the middle of the field in the passing game and they're able to execute the end route there this two- Lane offense has a great drive going trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here and he's brought down after a nice game every offense wants to be able to run the ball and be physical especially on first down and you want to create second and short third and short or just get first downs like that run right there Here Comes Tain after picking up the first down Thompson wants to throw he finds a dead spot in the middle that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few breaths away from the first down less than a yard to go to pick up the first down off play action throws to the wide out and the pass is incomplete thanks to a big hit well it was a good throw it was a good route but it was the hit that forced that incompletion after the incomp on second down it's third in inches bully ball on Third and short and he needed just a single yard and he did not get it what a stout play by this defense well you love to see that from the defense right it's like Ben don't break they've given up a bunch of plays on this drive but now that they're getting down close to field goal range you're seeing him start to stiffen up there yeah and plays don't matter anymore yards don't matter matter all that matters with these defenses nowadays is points and limiting them it's good after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to [Applause] go from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 running back searching for a hole and this defense has its work cut out to get this dude on the ground he was shedding serious tackles on his way to picking up the first another good run man he has been picking up yards in bunches today Jesse showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game goes on he is a beast to the ground he's got it again they'll rip off eight on that play it's second and two you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense eight- yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short the give to the back the wild cats pick up the first down well this defense is on its heels right now especially trying to stop the run they're just not being physical enough they give up another run right there for a first down someone's going to have to step up and make a play the offense will put it in play from the 47 on First and 10 wide out in motion from the gun the G looking for room and he broke one tackle on the way to a solid pick up there this defense has got to get better at tackling in the open field or gang tackling because if you need three or four guys to bring a guy down have fun with that six- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and [Applause] four using his legs it'sit Edwards and he's tripped up but not before picking up the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mar they have declared their intentions on this drive keeping it on the ground it's first and 10 again he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three as we reach the two-minute warning they'll need to try to get a stop to keep this thing from getting out of hand last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 Johnson wants to throw it he makes the connection and they're able to get him on the ground he's just winning that match up in the slot every time and when you put him in the slot Reese he's closer to the quarterback it's an easier throw we can run in we can run out and really take advantage of his versatility of the guy that slot position they've been able to control the ball this is a seventh play of the drive it's third and three catch in the middle it's brown touch down Kansas State what a grab and go for the score have a day young fell I foresee some social media posts in his future not one not two but three receiving touchdowns on the day what a ball game ready to try the point after and the extra point is good and the score is 3517 76 yds on the drive for the touchdown and they get it into the End Zone on a 36 yd touchdown pass just about set to kick it away he'll bring it back from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Tuan has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack boy they've been caught in a buzz saw here in the first half but maybe a chance to carry some momentum into the break here it all comes down to this drive right here ree obviously this offense hasn't had everything go right for them in the first first half but here's an opportunity David to execute some plays put some throws together and generate some points and you're right Jesse and this offense needs to start now like we got to get some points on the board create some momentum and continue it because you've dug yourself a significant hope nice job defense you always hear people talk about tackling the catch you saw it right there there was nowhere for that receiver to go once he had possession as a result no game they get to the line quickly they'll throw on Third and short oh did he find a hole in the defense hit the gas kid wide open ahead slippery slide find his way and ran away from the crowd into the end zone touchdown Green Wave and I tell you what that passing touchdown man that should spark this whole team like The Comeback is more than on now like they got the touchdown they cut into the lead you want to get a stop go into the half get all the juices all the excitement and be like listen the passing game's rolling we got this The Comebacks in full effect getting set for the point after and with the extra point they now Trail 3524 quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and they get it done with a big play a 76 Y for the score so they got the touchdown now going to put it in the hands of their defense to finish off this half from inside the 10 here he comes just never had a chance to shake loose and he'll be brought down at the 24 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field got it in the middle it's cus the offense will stop the clock and use one of its timeouts simple pitch simple catch easy little drag route right over the field it's a nice timing route you can run it versus man or you can run it versus Zone and have a lot of success Johnson looking to throw fires to the big fella and that is good versatility there and a big hit from the backer in pass coverage a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to [Applause] do they're going to go to the air on Third and short and he can find a receiver and down he goes we' got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break Kansas state will have to punt it away let's see if he can help the coverage team out with this one good job by the coverage unit to stop the Return Man first down here for the offense he's going to pass unloads to the wide out all kinds of room to throw that one in there and he gets a big chunk of yardage to the 34 yd line a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half trying to find his man on first down just can't pull the trigger and the quarterback is sacked at the 41 that's the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin and our halftime update guys who's had a better seat there in New Orleans for a fun first half than you and it' be easy to say these two offenses are glad we've hit halftime based on their respective performances it would also be accurate turnovers and sacks have told the story so far and you got to believe the play calling has been the issue right time to shred those game plans and just get back to basics and with that let's send it back to the fellas inside yolman stadium about to start here in the second half Tu a will kick it [Applause] away from inside the 10 yd line he'll bring it back nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 [Applause] starting this third quarter on the ground Bulls his way forward and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain that's a really good job by the defense wrapping him up getting him on the ground take away that run game make them onedimensional put him in passing situations really good job by the defense after picking up a couple it's second and eight John and wants to throw it scrambling away and he has a solid gain on the play before sliding well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowhere for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this drive offense breaks the hudle on third [Applause] down they'll stick to the ground looking for the marker he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three and sometimes for the defense it just takes one play right to create some momentum obviously this guy's been eating him up he's got over a 100 yards rushing on the day but finally David they get something positive here in the Run game defensively but you kind of know that coming in he's going to get his such a great back and he's had a great day need to put more plays together like that right there they'll put a stop to that return at about the 37 yd line the twain offense headed back onto the field grabbed behind the line it's brown he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense and with that pass right there over 300 yd that's a good day at the offense being able to execute doing a good job seeing what's coming anticipating taking some shots today but has held really strong put up some good numbers they'll leave it with him he's knock down in the back field he'll lose a couple well the linebacker showing youed and react he knew exactly where that running play was going and he beat the football to the line of scrimmage and force the tfl after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 running back goes in motion wants to throw on second down and he had it for a second but it just dribbled out out of his hands well I don't know if the big fella got freaked out cuz he was so wide open on that play but that is a catch he has got to make for his quarterback if every Journey begins with a step this offense needs to step into a third down conversion and then try to turn it into some scores and fast oh they really could have used that catch there physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down this is a point you just got to be able to focus and the critical down and distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you've got to be able to make that play Tain forced to send out the punt unit he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight no return possible on this one it goes out of bounds and they'll mark it right around the 30 yd line K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field he's dropped behind the line of scrimage that'll be a loss of three this defense obviously knows they've got to be able to stop the run if they're going to win this football game and you wonder if they've been able to make some tweaks and adjustments to try and take this running back away not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and [Applause] 13 it's a reverse still running at the 40 and how much Running Room have they been able to find on the ground man are they piling up some guardy rushing stats well it's a long gain on the Jet Sweep how good is he in the open field guys making guys miss he's allowing his blocks to set up and then getting up field Kansas State pushing the [Applause] pace quarterback on the keeper they pick up half of it it'll be second and five well this offense came into the game knowing they wanted to be physical they wanted to establish the line of scrimmage and they're running downhill right at this defense and they're turning out positive yardage early they'll go to work on second down after doing damage on the ground the give to the tail back and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up I think he run that play so you stay out of third and long third and long is not where an offense ever wants to thrive third and medium hey I'm good with that so you run that play to make sure you're set up for a good third down line is set on third down they'll try to pick it up on the ground open space at the 25 a huge gain on that one before he ran out of bounds and he has the first down what a great run there on Third and one situation though David that has got to be demoralizing for a defense cuz they were packed up close to the line of scrimmage expecting run on that one they're playing aggressive but great offenses have the ability in predictable situations like third and one to get first downs keeping it on the ground on first and goal he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on its heels now the offense tries to punch it in on second and [Applause] goal quarterback keeps it he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out the eighth play of the drive coming you'd hate to settle for a field goal it's third and goal Johnson looking to throw floating away and here's a fumble way behind the line oh looks like the offense was able to recover it and those are so frustrating when you're a defense and you swarm to the football and you stick the quarterback and you make him cough it up just to have the other team recover it again and you don't get it still a good stick still a good physical play keep hitting that quarterback now on fourth down they'll settle for a field goal try and he'll boot one from the right hash he ought to be able to navigate that angle from this distance and he missed it no good after the Miss still an 11-point game guys well everybody in the stadium thought that was an automatic three not so fast bad Miss by the kicker Twain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack that last Drive fizzled out Jesse they had to punt it yeah they did and David they're just going to have to do a better job this time around erasing the mental mistakes and just trying to solve the defensive riddle understanding what they're trying to do to you and attack them and now on second down for this [Applause] offense from the gun they'll try to impose their running game just enough there to get it to the 25 a pick up of two wow this offense is doing nothing they've already punted four times and staring at the possibility of a fifth Thompson to throw didn't have much of a choice just had to throw that one away it'll be fourth down Tain forced to send out the punt unit I think the quarterback on that play on third down shown you his maturity and his experience nothing open so you're not going to try to force the ball into coverage risk turn it over just throw it out of bounds Live to play another day line gets set first down used the play fake now to throw it's complete to the right and he's brought down after a nice game and he unleashed the RPMs on that pass man this softmore has an arm well it's a nice job to of the quarterback after the play fake there getting his eyes down the field he had to get that to his tight end quickly knowing he wasn't going to have a lot of space to run with after the catch they've got it first and 10 at the 50 give to the back and they'll bring him down after a short pickup it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down got three on first down it's second and seven out of the gun they give to the back and you want to talk about gang tackling everybody on the defense run to the ball they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one third and long and he'll try to throw for it fires to the tight end putting together a real scoring threat here as they pick up the first down at the 36 it's all about critical downs and distances on defense you want to be great unit defensively you've got to be good on third down and in the red zone for this defense giving up a third down like that that is just a gut [Applause] punch no go to the ground oh what a move and he's able to find a little bit of Running Room before they get him down and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making a good run great job finishing with his pads they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three takes a hand off it's gens they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one great play by the defense there and listen they got to do more of this running backs obviously had a lot of success they got to continue to stop this run game be physical and not let this guy beat him if they don't pick up this third down let's see if they trust their field goal kicker after the Miss on the last [Applause] Drive Johnson wants to throw it quickly complete and he couldn't quite get to the marker and that's going to bring up fourth down they were really hopeful he could make a guy or two Miss and pick up the first down but he comes up a little short yeah and it's great defense it's defense understanding where the sticks are not missing tackles getting the guy on the ground quickly really nice job by the defense understanding the situation oh the attempt is no good after the miss the lead still at 11 and you wonder if mechanically something is off kicker that's now his second missed field goal the day and guys we've got almost perfect conditions to kick the football I'm not sure what's going [Music] on the twain offense headed back onto the field boy three and out last time David they'd like to be more productive this time around yeah and the last he tosses one high and deep down the left side and this is dropped incomplete pass he had a huge G gain in his fingers and he couldn't hold on they'll line up for a second down play couldn't connect on first down now back to the air and that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact on the play but no Flags it'll be third down the defense was obviously ready for that play they've obviously been watching film they know that that pass play is one of the bread and butter plays this offense has so nice job defending it and this offense can ill afford to come up empty on this drive already trailing by multiple possessions shoots it to the left good quickness to grab it off the balance can anyone catch it touchdown Green Wave and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house this must be moving so slowly for this quarterback he sees everything two or three beats ahead way ahead I mean it's been been really really easy I better get some more hits on him I better do something to make him feel uncomfortable cuz right now it's just like oh you're running that yeah that's easy I mean he he's already read your mail you better change the address do something different they're going to go ahead and go for two here and try to make it a field goal game they'll go with a direct snap he is denied no good on the two-point try and the lead remains at five about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown from inside his own 15 looking for room nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 from the gun running back gets to give and he runs through one tackle and picked up a few it's really frustrating when you get a guy in his spot he's in the hole he's there to do his job and he can't get the guy on the ground that's your job get him on the ground you know especially a guy that's not a huge back you got to make that tackle you can't make it easy on the offense where now they got a a manageable Situation off the play fake fires to the wide out a strike downfield all kinds of Running Room touchdown wild cats and they take it in for six more points he has been surgical Precision passes using the scaffold the fine instrument rather than the blunt one and the defense has had absolutely no answer for just he's been down their throats all game long a step ahead understanding what he's seeing and just destroying this defense he'll try to add another to their lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead aggressive play calling on that drive just two plays they get the long touchdown pass to pay it off the kickoff team takes the field to boot this one away and he takes this from inside the five and the returner goes down Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack last time they had it they took it down the field for a touchdown they can build some confidence that they could go backto back scoring drives here yeah and remember it's not uncommon for offenses to find themselves as the game goes on they had some things not go their way early but they found something last Drive David let's see if they can build on that yeah you you you just pick and pick and pick until you find that place where you're like okay this is an advantage I have they've clearly found that dude they score here we're in for a ball game not much there they'll give him one to the 14 third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off Thompson wants to throw fires to the middle got him downfield coming through that third down conversion and they'll mark it at the 43 love to see the fearlessness of a quarterback to work the middle of the field and he's got so much confidence in his own arm talent to be able to get that football there before the defense can break it up here comes to Lan after picking up the first [Applause] down used the play fake now to throw he'll off one deep down the left side and it's slips through his fingers incomplete that would have been a huge game if he could have held on well the defense hasn't been able to stop this guy all game long so the offense is going to keep trying to take shots they thought they had the matchup they wanted but they're going to force this defense to prove they can stop him the defense finally came up with a play they'll go back to the air on second down and the pressure gets to him down goes the quarterback this defensive end is animal he already has two sacks and we're only in the third quarter I'd move him around a little bit more defensively so that the offense has no idea where he's lining up because right now man he is feasting and this offense is desperate to keep this drive alive trailing by multiple possessions and it's getting late on third third and long he'll have to turn it loose deep caught over the middle it's Hughes and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop you got to love that on defense one of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up the completion whoop-de-do you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball back go get some water and celebrate fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way not able to pop the big return but they've got the ball back and ready to go with a fresh possession and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field they go to the ground they'll knock him down after a pick up of one to the [Applause] 18 didn't get much on first down second and nine rides to the back out across the 20 to the 21 yd line a three yd [Applause] gain and that last run leaves him with a third down will they keep it on the ground Johnson looking to throw unloads to the wide out couldn't quite haul it in they almost had their first pick here late in the game ah what a great play by the defense listen that's why he plays defense yes I get it I get the jokes defensive guys can't catch real well but the offense they caught a Big Time Break right there that could have been disaster on their side of the field could have been a big turnover that led to points surprisingly makes a fair catch just outside the 40 yd line the Tain offense headed back onto the field they just didn't quite find the Rhythm on that last Drive Jesse they had to punt it open Runway ahead and he'll take it all the way they couldn't bring him down touchdown to Lane how about the day for this young F three receiving touchdowns hey defense that guy's good we might want to do about let's send two at him let's send three at him we can't let this guy continue to beat us time and time again ling up to add another and the Pat will draw them one point closer that drive not too taxing on the Playbook One play put it in the endzone just like that about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown looking for an alley from inside his own 10 he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 K state has the ball back in the power cat off defense returns to the field looking for a crease it's gens just searching and working for the Running Room as he gets it out to the 26 keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing game good spot after that seven yd pickup on first down it's second and three they'll run playaction looking down the middle and he dropped it just didn't look the thing all the way in well it's an unfortunate drop by the tight end there and he's a guy they just have not been able to get him involved in this football game we're here in the second half and this guy still doesn't have a catch facing a third down and short from the 26 Johnson wants to throw it grabs it in the middle he'll make a play on third down he's got enough for the first they mark it at the 32 defenses throughout the week study every third down situation you got to be ready for what they do how they do it and then be able to adjust great job by the offense so far having success and the wild cats have it with a first in 10 Ed the play fake now to throw and the blitz gets to him just like that and the defense gets him on the gra for the fourth time today by the way they pressured he's still done an unbelievable job making completions but you know what get him on the ground when he's got the ball he can't make something happen keep hitting him keep getting them on the ground not a lot of productivity on that last play they'll try it again on second and long from the 23 they'll give it to the back they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down and you want to talk about his favorite receiver it might be everybody based on the number of guys getting touches and a chance to show off their hands in the passing game when you're dealing with a deficit like this it's all about somebody stepping up to make a play and you might as well start here in the fourth quarter on third down he'll try to pick it up through the air wide open man and he's brought down after a huge completion well how about the offense setting that play up we've seen earlier in the game a couple shorter throws they're just trying to suck those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage anticipating that they would get an opportunity to take a shot they called the perfect play at the perfect time right there Kansas State quick to the line leaves it with the back he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple so first down didn't exactly go according to plan let's see what they can dial up on second down reys I got him right where I want him okay I'm going to throw the football now I can get back and shotgun forget the running game stuff we're going to play a little pitch and catch and see how good that secondary is Johnson looking to throw and he just flat dropped it I think he wanted to run before he secured it and you got to put that one on the receiver that's just a flat out drop that's a good throw by the quarterback that's a catch that receiver needs to make this will be the eighth play of the drive but a great opportunity for the defense to get off the field on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it nice move to keep running and you just get the feeling that this defense has to find a way to get off the field and get the football back at this juncture of the game trailing late if they're going to win inside the 25 they'll snap it from the 24 first down from the shotgun the inside give he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple man A lot of times when you putz that linebacker it's about timing you don't show your hand and he gets up to the line of scrimmage gets right through the line makes the tackle for the L and as soon as the running back gets the football he's got a face full of linebacker not much you can do there like you got to have a little better block you got to identify that Blitz a little bit faster by the offensive line oh it's a reverse and a decent gain there before the defense makes the stop let's see what they've dialed up on Third and long from the [Applause] 22 out of the gun the running back has it that play just never had a chance they knock him down for a loss of five awesome job up front by this defensive line being so good at the point of attack and eating blocks eating some double teams that allows these linebackers to run free unencumbered and get to the football so on fourth down here comes the field goal kicker in a huge [Applause] spot never doubt that's a huge kick right there because now the opponent has to score a touchdown here in the fourth quarter that put so much pressure on the opponent now nice job by the Special Teams going out and executing in a big moment so after the last Drive ended with a field goal the kickoff team out there to send it away he'll start the return inside his five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack the inside hand off can't get him to the ground knocked down after picking up five out to the 24 a lot of times when you think about speed back speed speed speed you think on the edge you don't think in between the tackles you don't think about breaking tackles they try to break your ankles the problem is when you're trying to run there as fast as you possibly can a lot of times you don't get to put a good hit on him and in turn you see he breaks tackles and make big plays out of the gun they'll run it inside at the 35 he's got room and he breaks into the open and they get him out of bounds after an explosive run just chewing up yardage along the way I'll tell you the defense is going to have to do a much better job containing these outside run plays they better be able to funnel the football back to the middle of the field because this guy with his speed can kill you like he did on that outside Run play there to the left that last big play has them in position to threaten here first and 10 from the 37 hand off to the single running back didn't get much on first down it's second and nine been showing them the run now they'll throw it oh so close to paying off the tip drill he had it in his hands but it falls incomplete well I know that one fell incomplete but what a day this guy's had thrown the football multiple touchdowns and he's done a really nice job with his decision making hasn't thrown any picks which has really helped keep this offense on schedule on Third and long he has to throw for It Wide Open downfield the stop is made but this offense is threatening first and goal from the nine a big gain there as they did a tremendous job working the middle of the field yeah and if you're going to complete that throw read quarterbacks have got to play with anticipation you got to get it out of your hands early and give your receiver an opportunity before the defense gets to the ball with the run on first and goal Forge is ahead for one to the 8 yd line defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming running play to the left here looking for the End Zone nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry now listen the defense won that play as an offense here the key David you can't go backto back negative plays you got got to be smart with the football here looks like you're going to have to throw it you just can't force it you got to make sure you're playing with that clock in your head can't take a sack and I think this is a situation where I spread you out I get more speed on the field I make the defense declare I see what they're in but I'm definitely throwing the football and after that completion at this juncture of the game if I'm the quarterback where is my best one-on-one matchup I'm throwing this In The End Zone on fourth down to win the game where do I have a size Advantage who can win for me one-onone one so here we are on fourth down and this field goal kicker is going to face all the pressure in the world didn't make him sweat at all it's good and look obviously you would have loved to score a touchdown there but you did the important thing kick a field goal you're now within one possession can your defense get you the football back and can your offense Drive the field and put it in the end zone this is what you practice for let's see if they can go execute fellas so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away on the run from inside his own five he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the 20 and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field he wants to start this drive with a pass pass and that incomplete pass caused by the big hit on first down second down coming didn't connect last time let's see if they throw it again on second down looking for a man it's Johnson they're bringing heat and there was nowhere to go for this quarterback and down he goes the offensive line coach will be pulling his hair out his head coach is okay right now because they're winning the game but from an o line standpoint they've been atrocious in pass Pro you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own 20 EAS looking downfield to throw Lofts one high and deep and that'll be incomplete they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down and that is a frustrating possession for this offense you wanted to run the football maybe take some time you did the opposite got in a bad situation threw the football stopped the clock not how you manage a game late in the fourth quarter K State sends the putt team onto the field ready to boot it away three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball a fair catch is called for and made just across the 50yd line the Tain offense headed back onto the field to the ground with the back this offensive line better figure out a plan for this D tackle he is tough to block with one guy you might want to start double teaming him he's going to be a problem moving forward you saw all of his ability on that last play didn't get on first down it's second and nine he's looking to throw he's got an open man touchdown Green W and they've moved out front here in the four I think one of the most underrated things we talk about with a QB is timing being able to get the ball out of his hands to his receiver where he can continue to catch the football and run with it nice pitch nice catch nice play in the fourth quarter when you needed it for this team to take the lead up by one they'll try to get the deuce and make it a field goal Edge Thompson to throw pass is incomplete no good on the two-point conversion they tried to stretch this lead out to a field goal but they're still up by one almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 case state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field on the move it's giddens finds his way ahead for five and now they've got it at the 28 I like this guy as a running back because he can run between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it all halfway there on first down it's second and [Applause] five here's the handoff he picks up maybe a couple before he stopped right at the 30 yd line ball sitting right at the 30 it'll be third and short they'll try to bully their way for the first and the defense knew exactly where that first down line was and they stopped him short Kansas state will have to put it [Applause] away running it back it's flaming he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage could on the punt return Tain has it back in the offense coming out to go on the attack we'll give him a couple on that one second and eight coming up at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down the RPO it's complete and he won't quite get there before boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first an array of possibilities here third and short coming here right from the Midfield strike they'll try to move the chains on the ground they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster right this running back's had all kind of success now we're getting later in the game we got to make sure we get some stops get the ball back to our offense Tain forced to send out the punt unit a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field that last Drive won't go on the highlight real after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up and going they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three the give to the back that play just never had a chance a knock him down for a loss of five that linebacker was a heat seeking missile and the heat that he sought was the ball carrier yeah great job great F linebackers are making all the calls in the defense and understanding when I need to come through that Gap and come through with bad intentions those guys are usually 245 lbs of heat seeking missile and he can't escape and down he goes this quarterback is thinking to himself I need to get an nil deal at some restaurant so I can take my offensive line out and feed them more because I don't think they like me very much right now I've been sacked six times in this game it's time to get that new nil deal paycheck K State sends the punt team onto the field ready to boot it away doesn't say much for your drive when you're looking forward to the punt he'll bring it back it's fliming really good job by the coverage team to make the Stop and that's where they'll put it in play the Tain offense headed back onto the field they'll have another opportunity to extend this lead after punting last time David and it's important to put that punt behind you it's it's over let it go get back to what you were doing that built this lead B yeah and defense obviously they won a few Downs uh that last ground to keep this clock moving and a pick up of eight opens a world of opportunities on second and two and the running back there did everything that he's coached to do right they've got the lead late in this game you've got to stay in bounds you're finding yards it's a positive run but you're not going out of bounds really well done time is on their side and they're going to wind that play clock all the way down the offense showing motion from the tight end trying to get a read on the D on the run it's Hughes across the 25 he's got room and he'll finish the run in the end zone touchdown Greenway what an explosive eruption into the End Zone by this running back and this back does it a lot that he makes big plays when you can make big plays like this it makes everybody's job easier oh we can play action oh we can throw it but it starts with the Run game and this guy setting everything up they'll try to attack one more on their score and he splits the upright and pushes the lead to eight here in the fourth quick strike offense on that three playay scoring drive and he closed the deal by racing 35 yards to per lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Applause] Drive he'll bring it out from inside his own 10 nice job executing all of the assignments they put a stop to that return at the 22 K state has the ball back and the power cat offense returns to the field got the Quick Pass and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one well no question they've got to score a touchdown and get the two-point conversion here but that's a good start to this two-minute drive you always want to get it going you want to get that momentum going put the defense on their heels they accomplished that with the last throw after that complet move the chains now first down Johnson wants to throw it it's complete on the right side great pick up as they'll keep this drive moving and they've got it at the 45 this is the moment for this offense to put a drive together it doesn't matter what's happened up to the point of this game but you're trailing right now you got to put some points up on the board this is where all 11 guys need to be playing together as one they are dialed in on this drive a CP with chunk plays and now they'll snap it on first down unloads to the right and it just squirted through his hands he wanted to take off and got too anxious oh there's there's an example Jesse of a receiver making his quarterback look bad most of the time to make it look good and cover up for him all those balls y'all don't throw online but that would hit him in a pretty good spot he needs to come down without they want to just keep throwing it oh he's going to try to hit get him over the top it's complete a huge pickup and they explode on that one and they've got it down to the 22 well Reese you and I were talking about this before the game how is this defense going to be able to deal with all the speed they have offensively you saw them just rip off a big play and Jesse now their head's spinning just a little bit give up a big chunk play and it's right back at him leaves it with the running back they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and it's a great play by the defensive end the most athletic players on the field play defensive end Yes you heard me Jess Reese exactly what I said great get off great job getting the Back Field making the play this drive facing a little adversity on second and 11 he's looking to throw got his Man Down field they make the stop but not before he sets them up with a first and goal from the 10 yeah you've seen these C routes this is a timing route understand the ball's got to come out of my hand right when he hits the top of that curl nice job by the QB finding him nice catch a two-tier job for this offense first get the touchdown then the two to try to pull even here in the fourth quarter that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming it's complete he's all the way down to the two Y Line just spectacular execution there you know the defense doesn't have an answer for this SL guy right now they may want to think about bracketing him having a Defender play to the outside and to the inside probably some sort of Zone coverage where you're trying to get two bodies forcing the quarterback to have to go somewhere else with the ball looking to The End Zone on Third and goal and good coverage there to knock it away and deny the score well if that last incompletion is any indicator it's going to be hard to convert this fourth and short coming up you're trailing late in the game You' got got to come up with a big completion but where are you going to go where's your best matchup here on this next critical down down in the final period in a tight game and they will go for it on Fourth and goal they'll run it stopped short of the marker and they stop for this defense and they get the ball back they're backed up first and 10 from inside their own five let's see if they can create some space going to run it it's huge quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense after the productive first down play it's second and six from the gun they'll try to impose their will he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense now facing a third and long give to the running back and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker timeout called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible Tain forced to send out the punt unit they'll look to pin him deep sometimes avoiding disaster is the best thing to just gets it out of there good job by the coverage unit to put a stop to that return and here comes the Kansas State offense back onto the field okay one possession game you've got some time to work fires into traffic picked off taking it the other way and they capitalize not only on the pick but the great return to give the offense tremendous field position that might be the nail in the coffin fellas this offense they're trying to get back in the game you're having to be
