13 WEATHER. TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 P.M. FOR CENTRAL ALABAMA. AND SO FAR, SO GOOD ON WVTM 13 LIVE DOPPLER RADAR. WE'RE JUST TRACKING RAIN AND GUSTY WINDS. THIS IS A HEFTY BAND OF SHOWERS AND SOME STRONG WIND GUSTS, OCCASIONALLY AROUND BROOKWOOD AND KELEE, AND TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AND THEN RIGHT UP AND DOWN THE WARRIOR RIVER FROM ABOUT HOLT LOCK AND DAM ALL THE WAY UP TO BANKHEAD LOCK AND DAM. THE RAIN IS COMING DOWN HEAVILY EASTERN TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, BIBB COUNTY, JEFFERSON COUNTY GETTING ANOTHER ROUND, AND THESE CELLS ALL LOOK VERY SUSPICIOUS. THEY ARE ROTATING, BUT THEY ARE NOT SEVERE AT THE MOMENT. WE CAN LOOK AT IT USING THE RADAR. THAT'S DOWN TO THE SOUTH FROM MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE. LOOKING BACK UP INTO THE STORMS OVER NORTHERN AUTAUGA COUNTY, NORTHERN ELMORE COUNTY. AND THEN YOU GOT A VERY DISTINCT HOOK THERE IN CHILTON COUNTY. BUT RIGHT NOW, THERE'S NOT THE KIND OF VELOCITY FEATURES THAT WE LOOK FOR IN LOOKING AT THE POTENTIAL OF TORNADOES. AND THAT'S GOOD. THERE IS SOME BROAD ROTATION HERE, SOME BROAD ROTATION THERE BETWEEN WHITE CITY AND MARBURY, AS WELL AS THIS ONE THAT'S NORTHWEST OF WETUMPKA. IN FACT, THAT MAY BE THE BEST LOOKING ONE. BUT THE ENVIRONMENT OVER HERE IN ELMORE COUNTY AND COOSA COUNTY IS NOT QUITE AS CONDUCIVE AS IT IS DOWN TO THE SOUTHWEST. BILLINGSLEY OVER TOWARD DALLAS COUNTY AND PERRY COUNTY AND EVEN PARTS OF BIBB COUNTY AND WESTERN CHILTON COUNTY RIGHT NOW. SO FAR, SO GOOOOD. WE'LL KEEP AN EYE ON THIS, THOUGH, BECAUSE THAT WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 P.M. THESE ARE THE COUNTIES INCLUDED TUSCALOOSA, JEFFERSON, SHELBY, BIBB, CHILTON, COOSA, ELMORE. AUTAUGA, DALLAS, PERRY, LOWNDES, AND MONTGOMERY. THAT'S UNTIL 10:00 THIS EVENING. THE ALERT DAY WILL LIKELY EXPIRE SOMETIME AROUND THAT POINT AS WELL. ONCE WE'RE CERTAIN THAT THE THREAT OF TORNADOES IS OVER, THE WIND GUSTS START TO SETTLE DOWN. BUT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH FOR A FEW DAYS. RUNNING THE FLASH FLOOD THREAT. TOMORROW WE'LL START OUT WITH SOME WIND AND RAIN EARLY IN THE MORNRNING. ONCE OUR SEVERE WEATHER THREAT ENDS, WE MOVE TOWARD WHAT'S CALLED AN IMPACT DAY ALERT IS WHEN IT COULD GET REALLY ROUGH OVER A BROAD AREA LIKE IT HAS TODAY. IMPACT MEANS SOME OF US WILL BE IMPACTED, BUT IT'S MORE OF A NUISANCE THAN A MAJOR ISSUE THAT CAUSES YOU TO JUST TO CHANGE EVERYTHING. LOOK AT THIS. 7:00 THIS EVENING, FORECAST GUIDANCE. DOING A PRETTY GOOD JOB OF PICKING UP ON WHERE THAT HEAVIER RAIN IS RIGHT NOW. AND IT'S JUST GOING TO BE CENTERED RIGHT HERE. SHELBY COUNTY, JEFFERSON COUNTY, WALKER, CULLMAN HIT OR MISS. SHOWERS LAST ON THROUGH THE EVENING. NONE OF THIS LOOKS SEVERE OVERNIGHT, SO I DON'T THINK YOU HAVE TO STAY UP ALL NIGHT AND WATCH THIS. I THINK ONCE THIS WATCH EXPIRES, WE'RE GOING TO BE PRETTY GOOD FOR THE FIRST FEW HOURS OF FRIDAY. BUT THERE WILL BE MORE HEAVY RAIN DEVELOPING AT TIMES TOMORROW MORNING AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS COULD DEVELOP AGAIN TOMORROW AFTERNOON. THE WAY THIS WORKS, THIS IS THE OUTLOOK. THINK OF IT AS READY, SET, GO, OUTLOOK IS BEYOND THE READY. WE COULD HAVE A FEW STORMS TOMORROW THAT POTENTIALLY COULD BE SEVERE BETWEEN ABOUT 1 P.M. AND MIDNIGHT. AND THEN ALSO LOOK OUT FOR THE THREAT OF FLOODING. THIS IS AN OUTLOOK FOR FLASH FLOODING IN THE MODERATE AREA THERE FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY. WALKER COUNTY AND CULLMAN COUNTY. WE MAY HAVE A TOUGH TIME WITH HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOMORROW EVENING AS THE SCATTERED, HEAVY DOWNPOURS RUMBLE AROUND CENTRAL ALABAMA. THERE WILL BE MORE LIGHTNING TOMORROW, SO THERE COULD BE SOME LIGHTNING DELAYS.
