WREXHAM vs SHREWSBURY - Match Updates Plus Round The Grounds

hello guys and welcome to football fanden UK hope you guys doing well today as we're here for a game that's not been played for a long time apparently eight years since these two teams met uh and uh hopefully it's going to be a good game guys cross border Derby uh shrewbury the English Club and rexam the Welsh Club but they both sit very close to the Welsh English border so they know each other very well uh so hopefully it's going to be a good game guys team's just coming out so we should be off on way in a moment let me just get the radar on the screen to keep you guys better informed let's hope plenty of goals in this one so let me know your thoughts guys on this one Shrewsbury Town taking on rexam traveling to rexam obviously rexon well known uh through the work they've been doing to publicize themselves going on American tours and all sorts of stuff to uh get more uh the club more well known and more Prestige but uh that counts for nothing when it comes to a local Derby guys doesn't doesn't matter how well you are known around the football World Derby days can go either way so plenty of games going on today guys uh obviously it is the international break but uh there's still games going on in League one League two in England also non-league games going on as well as um games in Wales Wales Welsh League still playing and the northern Irish league is still playing so be uh keeping an eye out round the grounds for the other results so hopefully we're going to get plenty of goals for this one guys let's hope so so shrewbury going with four at the back five in Midfield with one up front uh obviously that might slightly change as the game progresses but they're clearly going with a slightly more defensive lineup playing away from home so we're about to get underway guys uh Rex's lineup is five at the back three in Midfield and two up front uh so they're going with a slightly defensive lineup but also very attack-minded as well so we're off an underway as the ball quickly played down the field reom knocking it out of play on this near side it's gone out for a throw in to rexam so rexam with a throw in on this near side of the field ball back in play shrewbury challenging for it as shwy now just managed to win the ball back inside their own box they play the ball forward now rexam try to challenge for it his ball just running loose there on the edge of the center circle as rexon managed to intercept it now they play the ball out wide on the far side of the field knocking it forward and shrewbury managed to challenge for it they've won it just cutting it back there to the halfway line now the ball played long down that far side it's intercepted by rexam now rexam trying to get on the attack as he knock the ball up towards the halfway line now playing it long down that Far Side trying to get in behind the shwy defense but shrewbury managed to get bodies back behind the ball as both sets of players trying to win their possession on that Far Side bit of a tussle going on eventually rexam do manage to uh win The Possession as they play all the way back into their own half uh Jamie saying I'm going for I'm going to say 22 good shout mate yeah well I've I've never watched this fixture before Jamie I've got to be honest I've heard a lot about it but I've never watched it before so it's a first for me and a first for fandm so hope it will be an entertaining game with plenty of goal mouth action we'll have to wait and see mate so yeah but uh as I say a derby I've never watched before balls out of play on the far side of the field for a throw to Shrewsbury deep inside their own half ball thrown long up the field as eventually it's just headed straight out of play again and that's going to be another throw in for rexam on that far side inside this Shrewsbury half of the field ball play back into their own half and shrewbury push up to press the ball jimy saying we're doing great thanks uh she is getting better uh we need to get them both sets of plays to just settle down they both hungry to try and play well it's clearly obvious but uh it's it's resulting in a uh a lot of Scrappy challenges and the ball going out of play a lot at the moment now the throwing comes in shrewbury knock it up the field rexon win it back on the halfway line quickly challenged by shrewbury but Rex are managing to retain it as they just play it back to their center backs inside their own half of the field now the ball played long as they try and get him behind the shwy defense there but too much on that ball and it just bounces back to the goalkeeper uh Jamie saying I done my breaks uh on Van awesome I take it wasn't too Troublesome then Jamie not too many stiff bolts did you remember the copper grease ball knocked long up the field by the keeper and it's headed straight out of play on that far side for another throwing in yeah I've been fixing well I'm in the process of fixing fence in the garden meet at the moment Jamie I'm trying to do that many things I'm getting dizzy with it to be honest but obviously while the dry weather's still with us I'm trying to get the fence fixed now rexam with the possession played into the center of the field as they race out wide on this near side shrewbury shifting plays across to press the ball Rex him now with the ball long over the top H shwb managed to knock it away but rexam regain The Possession on this near side now just playing a onew as shwb press the ball rexon just play it back to the halfway line now switching the play out to the opposite side of the field as they probe the Shrew breit formation it's chipped forward on that Far Side trying to get in behind but shrew breit trying to Marshall it out of play there and the referee and the referee's blown the whistle here I think I didn't see the ball go out of play ah the flag's gone up well that was a tight offside if that's offside that was tight so yeah good to hear Jamie hope that went well mate H yeah I did breaks earlier in the year for um for a neighbor now the ball played long up the field and it's well it's a poor ball as it goes all the way back to the rexam goalkeeper rexam now to build from the back as say come forward now it's played out wide on this near side as shrewbury come to press the ball rexam just play back to the goalkeeper goalkeeper now kicks it long straight down the field as it's headed on rexam managing to keep the possession under pressure as they knock it out wide on this near side Shrewsbury trying to challenge oh that's a clumsy challenge the referee's going to blow for the foul and yeah oh it's a card so yellow card there for the Shrewsbury Defender yeah it was a rash challenge so that's going to be a free kick on this near side for only three three games in League one today mate only three games all the rest have been B because of players being on International Duty uh I think the majority of League 2 is playing today but in to this near side as they try to come forward but quickly run into traffic as Shrewsbury uh come to press the ball Rex and play it back into the middle now it's worked out wide on that Far Side ball crossed into the box oh rexam smash it into the back of the AET Palmer with the goal as rexam Take the Lead just short of 15 minutes gone it's Rex and one shuby nil well that was a really nice ni team goal shrew playing it uh sorry rexon playing it out towards his near side then back into the middle out to The Far Side ball crossed into the box and it ended up being an easy tapping at the near side post for rexim now Jamie is saying we got lots of fog today oh you got fog have you no it's still quite nice over it well it's not as nice as it was yesterday but it's a bit more overcast but no it's border um I think they're about 50 miles apart 20 miles apart the Two Towns um so literally uh I'm trying to think of the equivalent of uh distance probably probably a similar distance mate as from maybe not act absolutely identical but a similar distance of maybe um Sheffield to Huddersfield something like that maybe or possibly maybe a bit shorter than that I'm not sure but they're not very agree with you I just like I say there's one this month there's one next month and I think there's another one the month after as well is there so why why do we need all them uh breaks disturbing the Club season just just just take one month out of the season and get all the international games played uh give the players a bit of a break uh it makes all the sense in the world but unfortunately these people uh running footb well don't think logically like we do do they neither uh they think like politicians like they've got to make everything more complicated than it needs to be now rexen obviously to reduce the friendlies because a lot of managers and fans were complaining about players being put at risk playing international friendlies um but as you say the nation league has been created to to reduce those friendlies but it's it's I mean it's good I think the Nation League is good in respect of How It's structured to give come give Nations like J uh jalter um and obviously smaller Nations a chance to actually um win some games playing Nations that are more their size so it gives them chance to actually get better at football learning how to win um but overall like you said for the big Nations it's not really a good thing is it mate now the ball kick long down the field we' got a clash of heads here referee blows the foul so shrewbury with a free kick on this near learn how to get better because you can't they can't get better at playing football when they've got really you know limited uh Squad options obviously smaller Nations smaller population uh how they meant to get better at playing football when they get spanked off England Spain Germany 67 nil all the time that they're never going to learn how to get better at football when they just keep getting their ass handed to a um so that's the one thing I do like about the Nations League it gives those smaller Nations chance to play equally small Nations to learn how to get better at football so I think that that aspect of it is good but like you say for the for the bigger Nations it's it's just a fast in it now rexam with the possession ball played forward as Shrewsbury challenged for it rexam often so we'll see what interest we got whether it's appreciated us covering these two teams um but the other game I was thinking about doing was the Gillingham game I think they're playing donc cter fantastic because it it annoyed me in the uh EUR roles that we took Luke Shaw when we couldn't play him uh and I was arguing all the way through that I was like why the hell are we playing a player that's injured injured we're only going to get him for one or two games at the end of the tournament so it me it was an oldb brainer why didn't we take a a left back out of the championship um so I totally agree with you absolutely 100% there Rick that's a fantastic suggestion mate and it might actually be more interesting for us as fans because we'd get to have a look at other players uh away from the regular Premier League England players that we get uh and actually like you say give the the players from Championship League one a chance to uh play on the international stage and show what potatoes keeps going up yeah but that doesn't excuse putting the price up and making the portions sh smaller does it so yeah um so I've not had a chippy for a while actually not a proper one anyway well you can't I don't know bit of all sorts really chips and fish like chip fish and chips I like but I also like uh chips with uh meat potato pie but that's probably because I'm a norvin lad what
