Pickups & Post Ep.192 plus The Crow Remake Movie Review

[Music] hello everybody on uine Welcome Back to the episode of pickups and post and before again to all that sort of jazz just want to say a massive thank you to everybody who turned up yesterday for the big Meetup it was the biggest Meetup ever and I met some truly wonderful people great friends and we had such a good laugh it went a little bit hectic at times trying to get everything in order Etc but it was great fun and next time maybe not go to London in the summertime on a Saturday in the summer holidays when the kids were school because it was [ __ ] Manic and uh but yeah it was a good day and I think overall it went really well and like said it was so wonderful to meet so many people and to everybody who came thank you from the bottom of my heart it really means a lot to me that you took the effort to come and meet up and we had a bit of a giggle and uh it was just great to see everybody and I look forward to seeing you again soon and we'll have to do more meetups soon because these sort of things are too short far apart you know I want them to be more often because I just like spending time with you guys but anyway thank you to all of you that turned up you were all amazing and uh and Jamie Batman Smith my God you have energy and love for CJ flipping egg but anyway let's get on with the pickups well we popped into fop at some point and I picked up my lady this is the second film in the Three Musketeers I haven't seen either yet so now I've got both I'm going to do a back toback thing so yeah fantastic only 8 reduced I got the Funko Pub of terrifier art the clown there's been a few of these that have come out this is the only one I've seen in the shop but I actually really like this one and uh I mean there's there's one of him holding a knife there's one of him on the bike one of the glasses you know the uh the um the like the the sunflower glasses that one went out of uh stock very quickly so you can get a copy of that you're very lucky but yeah pick this one up cuz it's art the clown and I love terier so yeah I thought I'd get that for the collection Sophie was a very naughty girl and she bought me something she bought me a uh what they call a selfie stick sort of thing and yeah it' be very handy for doing videos as well and uh yeah I'm going to open this up soon and we're going to get cracking with that and use it thank you so much s very thoughtful cuz I was asking people they got selfie sticks so we could take a couple of photos but she bought one for me so honestly Sophie thank you so much you really are a lovely girl and a great friend so thank you so much and K ghost bought me fantastic for the Rise of the Silver server and I've never seen this film but he knows it was the only one I was missing and it was in his local shop and he got it for me thank you so much and yes in a black case and on the note of black cases he gave me some of his black cases so honestly mate thank you so much you didn't have to do that and you really are a very kind guy and absolutely amazing friend thank you so much you my friend are a star copyright trademark kmit ghost so did I see anything at the cinema yes I did I went to see the crow remake with Bill scars guard in the lead was it any good well it's been getting a hell of a lot of bad views saying worst film of the year it's a load of [ __ ] if you compare it to the original then yes it's definitely not very good if you go by the comic book then yes definitely it's not very good if you just take it as an average Revenge Thriller it's okay uh to be honest I went in with low expectation I like the original one I I've always enjoyed it it's not I'm not like a massive Die Hard fan of it but I've always liked it I think it is a cult classic and it's definitely the best film of the whole lot of films that we've had uh but this one uh is a very different story it takes a different route it doesn't do the same as the original so it kind of feels like they had the idea but they they didn't know what to do because it's very similar so they thought you know what we'll call it the crow we say it's a remake but it is a very different film as well it's very slow to get going I mean it's takes an hour for things to really heat up it's more about the relationship between the two characters they meet in a like a prison rehab sort of thing and you don't buy the relationship because they're only together a few days maybe a week and they meant to believe that these two are madly love it just didn't feel right in a way it didn't feel didn't didn't sink in like it had this deep emotional uh connection uh but I thought they did very good in the part so well Bill scar scar was good the girl who plays his girlfriend was she needs a few acting Essence in my opinion but um the film itself though it it's very slow um I wouldn't recommend seeing at Cinema there are some moments it sort of start stops you know you think oh it's going to get going now and it sort of stops he's a mopy side he walks around and uh uh there's only one good thing about this and there's a sequence at the Opera House towards the end if the film had been like this all the way through or at least more frequently it would have been a great film I think you know for an action film because that sequence is fantastic one of the best action sequences of the year and when it starts you're like when why didn't this happen earlier on this it really is a great sequence at the Opera I I can't express it enough I really enjoy it the gore my God it was it it earned its 18th certificate in the last minute I thought the film like said it it's kind of weird that the villain this has like a supernatural element to it I don't want to go into it too much but you're like oh so it's it's like said it's very different to the original so and again guess in a way that's kind of good that they did their own thing it's not God awful it's not the worst thing but I I really am torn between this one I I I didn't mind it I enjoyed it for what it was but it definitely isn't a film I'd recommend or I'd say go see at the cinema wait till it's on streaming and don't compare it to the original one don't expect the same film just go an open mind and expect maybe a slow burn so that's what I recommend and I was give it out five I'll probably give it a three out of five like I said it wasn't awful it wasn't like the worst thing I've seen this year um mouse trap but uh but it's definitely watchable um but yeah that's it that's my thoughts of the crow there's no bonus footage because I went to London so uh but I didn't want to put that into this video I wanted that to be a separate thing because like I said that day yesterday was amazing I had a great time but anyway guys thank got chant t in it I think it's can't name can't remember the name of it think twice or something like that um I'll pop a picture of it here so you see what I'm on about but um yeah it should be all right don't be quite good so uh so expect the video in the evening uh won't be in the afternoon cuz I'll go to see the film at 3:00 it's the ear show they're showing it so going to go see at 3: so
