Updated Dynasty Rookie Draft Rankings | Overall Superflex Picks (2024)

Introduction Hello everybody welcome into the fantasy pros Dynasty football podcast I'm Ryan warmley joined today by Pat Fitz morrris and by Scott Bogman bogs did you missed me last week when I was gone of course I don't like doing the reads so of course I miss you last week oh well I appreciate that you missed me even if it's for uh the reason out of of laziness uh Fitz did you miss me for my actual commentary I'm assuming not I always I always miss you I notice when you're not a round worm so I appreciate that uh all right well I am back for this week we're kind of wrapping up our offseason coverage we are going to have a presence on the dynasty feed here during the season which is not something we've done in previous years it's going to look a little different it's not going to be weekly there's going to be some Discord stuff on there so we'll kind of uh share that information you know as we get to those shows throughout don't unsubscribe or anything as we get into the season it'll just look a little bit different here U so this will be kind of like Our Last Summer offseason type show and we wanted to kind of wrap up where we kind of started back in April with some of the rookies stuff and we kind of started really I guess in January with some of the rookie stuff so we want to kind of reset and reevaluate our rookie rankings here whether you have a rookie draft still to come if you're super super late on that or if you just want to kind of get a sense of we're thinking about these rookies we've seen them for a couple weeks now um you know in the preseason we've seen them all the reports and everything through training camp and everything like that so we're going to take a look at where our rookie rankings stand we're going to go quarterback running back wide receiver and tight end so we've got where they stand in ECR we've got B's rankings we've got Fitz's rankings bman thank you for putting together these rankings it is uh much easier for me when you've done all this hard work so that's what I miss yes exactly exactly um uh I do just want to make a quick note for everybody that if you want to view our dynasty rankings and our rookie rankings they can be found at fantasypros.com rankings you can navigate from there to any types of rankings you're looking for including all of our various Dynasty type stuff uh let's dive in here with the quarterbacks and I want to kind of highlight the first four right off the bat uh you guys both have Caleb Williams number one that's also ECR consensus uh you both have Jaden Daniels number two that's also where he is in ECR and then three is Drake May in ECR and four is JJ McCarthy you guys are flipped on these two so let's actually start with three and four I was really surprised Bogman J.J. McCarthy that you have JJ McCarthy ahead of Drake may as it stands because one of the big reasons that we were maybe a little bit down on Drake May wasn't the prospect profile it was the landing spot and that year one would be really tricky year one's going to be really tricky for JJ McCarthy because he's not playing so if we're kind of throwing out both year ones I know I personally thought May was like the clearly Superior just pure Prospect irrespective of the landing spot so why do you still see McCarthy as a spot ahead of May in your rankings because I think it's going to take a little bit still for Drake May to start I don't think it would be smart to start him in the first month of the season I think you want to get him half a season maybe a little bit more than that I think that's the plan like when jacobe brette got hurt right we were all okay maybe Drake May is going to be the starter we learned that it wasn't nearly as serious as we thought um and I know brassette is not going to go out there and look like a world beater but what are the expectations for the Patriots this year I still think they're very low especially if they start out bad I don't know that you go to Drake May super fast so I think maybe you get him in the back half of the season I don't think he's going to start within the first month and I just love the offense in Minnesota what Kevin oconnell does with this offense they're going to pass the ball so much the weapons are still in place for when he does come back next year and when he comes back next year assuming Jefferson and Addison Reed and hackinson make it through the you know the season you have those top targets are already so good so I know there's still a lot of learning for McCarthy to do I think it's safe now that you know he's going to be able to sit and learn for this whole season so I still like Drake may I do think Drake May is a better quarterback than Jordan Addison I really do if you switch the landing spots I would have this obviously switched but they didn't uh Kevin oconnell is the the you know he's a pass happy guy and once McCarthy gets there longterm I want McCarthy because I don't think you're getting May for most of the season anyway Fitz when you parse between these two guys again you have Drake May third and JJ McCarthy 4th are you thinking sort of similar to how I'm thinking of it where season one is kind of a wash for both of them um are you thinking just in terms of purely like how you ranked them as prospects coming out or are you specifically nervous about JJ McCarthy I mean this is somebody that we wanted to see throw more passes he just didn't do it enough in college and now we're missing out on another year of him just throwing the ball more um does that concern you at all with him yeah this was always a coin flip for me and um it was really easy to Pivot to like I had had McCarthy ahead of May largely for the reasons bogs outlined with the um superiority of the landing spot and just what a good situation it is with oconnell as play caller um terrific group of pass catchers with Jefferson Addison and TJ hackinson but I mean now with the injury I actually debated whether to move Bo Knicks ahead of JJ McCarthy and I I do think we're gonna get some value from Drake May um and a lot of it in his rookie year is probably going to be rushing value because he's probably going to be running for his life behind that offensive line um but that's kind of how it is with young quarterbacks they're going to be confused by a lot of what they see uh the defensive looks they get and when in doubt I think Drake May is going to take off and run so I wouldn't be surprised if he did play after about a month and wound up with five or 600 rushing yards this year so uh I I think there will be a little bit of rookie value and like you bugs I I do think May is just the better prospects than McCarthy I think he's a better player so um yeah but uh ultimately I decided I could not put Bo Knicks ahead of JJ McCarthy by the way if if we didn't announce this um they did announce earlier this week that jacobe brassette will be the starter to start the season in New England so it is a I know there were some comments from drod Mayo about Drake May out playing him this season but I mean behind that offensive line which is like the worst in football pretty easily I think um it definitely makes sense I think to start peret in my opinion Bogman this is like a very clear tier two of May McCarthy I I would put closer to Jaden Daniels than I would to McCarthy in terms of how I view him as a pure Prospect but in terms of of the dynasty kind of Outlook I think this is a very clear tier two tier one of course like I mentioned Caleb Williams at number one and Jaden Daniels number two did you give any thought to having Daniels number one just given the rushing upside and he's looked good in the preseason and I mean not that Caleb hasn't looked good in the preseason but did you give any thought to Daniel at w or was it pretty easy Caleb won Daniels too not even a little I mean it what and look I'm not saying that jayen Daniels Caleb Williams can't be the number one the rushing upside is there and I don't think it's a crazy thought at all but I just couldn't do it Caleb Williams is a you know such a good Prospect well-rounded put into a great offense with weapons and a defense that may need him to score as well uh maybe they'll put a little more pressure on the quarterback this year I'm not worried about the be secondary it's that line that I worry about but yeah uh not not really I just think uh kale Williams is in almost a perfect spot Fitz where is Caleb for you in terms of overall Dynasty quarterback rankings and same for Daniels I want to say like fifth um I've got yeah Caleb is my qb5 I believe in Daniels is maybe like qb10 qb9 something like that are they both top 10 for you too uh yeah I got uh Caleb at seven and Jaden at nine okay so same question fits any thought at all to Daniel's ahead given the pure rushing upside or I mean I I would also very easily put Caleb one so I'm just kind of Playing devil's advocate I don't disagree with this ranking obviously but any thought for you with Daniels yeah no I I like Daniels enough to to have him in my top 10 but I still feel great Jayden Daniels about Caleb no doubts about the talent and it's just such a a great situation with that set of pass catchers they have hooked him up with in his rookie year yeah I mean really everybody's been saying this but it's the best situation as number one overall pick is basically ever walked into and it's a number one overall pick that is like considered one of the best quarterback prospects you know in the last a long time so uh yeah just really exciting all the way around uh I'm more excited about Daniels than I was during rookie draft season I will say and it's not that he's it's not that he's better than I thought I just feel a little more comfortable with you know some of the profile stuff that I didn't like like being an older guy who was a late Career College breakout who I thought ran kind of recklessly I just from what I've seen in the preseason I just feel a bit more comfortable with no like the upside is too immense like he can't be too low in your rankings I've referenced Fitz on so many shows that I've done uh for his Jane Daniels descrip description of he runs around like a crash test dummy I I think it's just such a perfect description of Jaden Daniels it's very similar to what happened with RG3 so another reason why I would have Caleb ahead of him injuries can happen to anybody but Jaden Daniels puts himself in harms way more than he probably should pre- landing spot I had May ahead of Daniels even with the rushing disparity because I do think May will run too um I I have liked enough of what I've seen about Daniels and read about Daniels that I think even if you swapped the landing spot for May and McCarthy and Drake May was in Minnesota this unbelievable landing spot I might still have Daniels ahead I just think the upside is that immense it would be a lot closer obviously in that scenario but um it just speaks really highly to what we've seen from Jaye Daniels so far but still a very strong class um just the back end of these rankings B Knick qb5 Michael Penn Jr qb6 Spencer Rattler qb7 it's kind of funny um you know in our our sheet we have where they were drafted and it's 101 102 103 110 112 108 55 I mean it is so far back um with Spen Spencer Rattler there was such a wide Gap there I do still like Rattler kind of um any thoughts on kind of this back Trio fits I know you kind of mentioned maybe even having Nicks ahead of McCarthy given the injury so is he kind of he set stands apart in terms of this Trio for you he does but I think Bo Nix the Vibes are good on all three of these guys like Nick seems like he's um very well cut out to be a poor man's Drew Brees for Shawn Peyton and run that sort of ball control passing game um he's looked pretty comfortable in that capacity I think in the the preseason action we've seen him in thus far um you know and penic like being given the uh the kid gloves treatment in preseason and being held out of games where you know people were kind of surprised he wasn't playing but I think that shows how much the franchise values him and then getting rid of uh Taylor hinei so now it's just going to be a two-man quarterback setup for the Falcons and then Rattler I think has looked good in the preseason like he has shown the ability to make plays so I think even though we haven't changed our rankings on these guys I I do think the uh overall feelings are pretty positive for these guys coming out of their first training camp in preseason bugs any other thoughts on the quarterbacks no I mean I I the only guy I really moved is I moved Joe Milton up ahead of like Jordan Travis and those guys because he actually had a decent showing and they kind of seemed to like him in New England but uh I think Fitz is right like you know the just because the position change didn't change doesn't mean our opinions didn't change on these guys B Nick's getting a lot of love out of the coaching staff and Denver kind of a tier of his own uh with these guys and Rattler looked good and confident uh in the preseason so if anything should happen to Derek Carr if they're just not winning games I think Rattler could get a look at the end of the season as well so yeah not not a lot the rankings don't change but opinions have a little bit let's move into the running backs uh at rb1 across the board is Jonathan Brooks uh rb2 in ECR is Trey Benson rb3 is Blake Corum and rb4 is Jaylen Wright those top three really kind of stand apart at least in my opinion um Jonathan Brooks at one Trey Benson at two Blake corm at three you guys both agree on Brooks so before we get to the other names fits any thoughts to uh Jonathon Brooks supplanting Brooks out of that number one spot I mean he's going to start the season um you know not playing on the field for the first few weeks or I mean it was just kind of locked in for you pretty locked in um you know the plan seems the same for the Panthers eventually he is going to be their lead running back and it's probably going to happen by the midpoint of the Season Bogman I know I don't need to ask you if you were going to move uh your boy off the the one- one spot I mean I think I if if something would have happened in terms of a trade or release or something maybe I could like if Connor had got cut or traded or something maybe I could have moved Trey Benson ahead of him but nah nothing not enough I mean just not not the best running back class next year should be much better Trey Benson is the consensus number two Fitz you don't have him to you have Blake Corum at two uh and Benson at three and bogs you do have Benson at two you actually have corm at four and Jaylen right up at three so Bogman I'll start with you how are you parsing between Benson Korum and then I was surprised to see right ahead of Corum honestly yeah so that is just something I didn't change I just didn't change I had Jaylen right ahead of corm Blake Corum the whole time and I'm just not moving it because I don't think most hurt you know most HT has had an injury played career we saw last season what it looked like without injuries and it was awesome but I just don't think he's long for that roster I think Jaylen Wright is GNA have a nice role there eventually by you know this time next season he might be you know the guy getting more carries because aan is never going to be a 20 touch guy right so uh I just I like him in that offense and I think korm is firmly behind Kiren Williams even though kyen Williams is going to return punts I know people are freaking out about that but I mean how many punts get returned right so uh I I'm I don't know I'm not worried about uh Kiren so much and I know it may take a little more time but I think eventually Jaylen Wright will be uh the better back between those two guys personally fits I see kind of the tier as corm and Benson together I would have Benson ahead uh you have korm one spot ahead you've been on corm all along he was your favorite running back for much of the draft process before we knew these Landing spots obviously we know what the Rams do with their running backs when they have a top guy so if Kiren goes down at all korm is gonna look really really good I would expect how did you decide between corm and Benson I mean part of it was Jonathan Trey Benson Ganon not being uh not speaking glowingly of how quickly Benson was uh adjusting to things and frankly I don't think he's looked great in his preseason carries and Benson was kind of a guy who um I don't know I had sort of mixed feelings on as a prospect and and was just sort of honestly going with the flow and and having him like he tested well and everything but um like I I still don't know how I feel about him as a runner he's in a good situation as the the primary backup to a somewhat injury-prone starter in James Connor but I just don't know how I feel about Benson as a player yet uh whereas I feel really good about korm as a player and the Rams just sort of tip their hand by taking him on day two and they know that Kiren who uh now being listed at 205 pounds which I have some serious misgivings about uh believing that listing um they know he can't do 21 touches a game this year like it's just not a a prudent way to operate so um I think km's gonna have a role and if he were to ever fall into a bigger role I mean the Rams have shown a willingness to uh you know use their guys pretty heavily and I I maybe think km is uh with his sort of Mighty Mouse build I think maybe he might be better equipped to to withstand the pounding than uh Kiren Williams would be so I just I feel good about him I feel good about him going to a Shawn McVey offense and um Fitzy I had Brandon Funston on itl yesterday and he was talking about how Shawn McVey always goes with one back going back to like even when Ronnie Rivers was carrying the ball for them he was the guy carrying the ball Todd Gurley was the only guy getting the ball Kon was the only guy getting the ball so if it does go to Blake corm Blake corm is going to get a huge workload so that the the logic adds up for sure on Blake corm by now most of you have probably heard of reality Sports Online the powerful fantasy sports platform where owners get to build and manage their fantasy team like an NFL general manager but the question is have you tried it it's time to go see what all the buzz in the dynasty Community is about free agency multi-year contracts a rookie draft multi-team trades franchise tags contract extensions first round rookie options automated contract and salary cap functionality and much much more I think it sounds complicated it's not the best thing about reality Sports Online fantasy front office is that it doesn't take any more time than a standard League it just requires more strategy think you're among the fantasy Elite well this is the platform to test your metal still not sure you can test out your general manager skills for free in a mock free agency auction if you like what you see use promo code fantasy pros to receive a 10% discount on your team or league today that's promo code fantasy pros to receive a 10% discount on your team or league today fantasy just got real at reality Sports online.com all right next up on the running back list Marshon Lloyd he's uh rb5 in ECR Ray Davis is rb6 brillan MarShawn Lloyd Allen is rb7 and Bucky Irving is rb8 eight Fitz you are the highest on any of these guys you have Lloyd up at rb4 so you have him kind of in that first grouping of players Bogman you've got Lloyd at rb6 so Fitz what are you seeing with Lloyd I mean there's been some of the injury stuff this uh you know this summer um obviously he's somebody that like our colleague Debo likes very much um you've got him ahead of like Jaylen Wright and Ray Davis and some of these other guys behind that top three yeah it's not great that Lloyd has been dealing with the soft tissue injury for much of training camp but um AJ Dylan goes on season ending IR so now the path is clear for Marshon Lloyd to have fantasy relevance in year one because we know that Matt lefur typically does not work one running back into the ground and really never has um he consistently gave AJ Dylan about 10 carries a game even though AJ Dylan was arguably just not very good and nowhere on uh I don't know if that's even arguable yeah probably not I mean like and this was with Aaron healthy and he was still finding 10 Touches for AJ Dylan I would imagine that once uh Lloyd is fully healthy he's going to be getting 10 touches a game too as uh you know a guy who is gonna spell Josh Jacobs and I don't know still like the talent I mean I know he was Debo is number one running back Prospect Daniel Jeremiah's number one running back Prospect and he's going into a really good offense Bogman did you give any thought to Lloyd maybe being a little bit higher given the Dylan you know injury he's out for the year so the opportunity in year one is a little more apparent well I'll say this I definitely I took him over Fitzy I had a $2 hammer in an auction that we were doing the other night and uh I think he threw him out for a buck and I had two so it was either you or DVR I knew I got a Packers fan on uh that one Fitzy but uh yeah so I'm I'm excited for uh Lloyd for sure but the injuries hampered him at College as well he's a very skilled running back one of the better backs with the ball in his hand in this class but the injuries have already crept up in his NFL career and that's what kept him out and you know we've seen what this has done to a guy like kendre Miller right in his career so I have Ray Davis ahead of him I I'm not budging on that but I still have him in my top six so I do like him and I do like him for this season I just can't get over the injury stuff there is a consensus top six here across both ECR but also the two of you Ray Davis is the sixth one of those guys you guys actually both have him at five even Ray Davis though ECR is one spot lower at six Fitz what have you liked out of what you've seen from Ray Davis this summer oh man um he's looked good in the preseason like he is great at finding creases and making yards after contact and that's pretty consistent with what we saw from him at Kentucky um there's even a little bit of pass catching ability although I think you know James Cook is certainly uh going to leave the bills in that category in the back field but um I just think he's ready to come in and take that 30 to 35% share of of backfield touches and be a nice compliment to cook I just I like the player a lot I know he's a slightly older Prospect but um I feel good about Davis fitting in right from the start Yeah pogman you mentioned you have Davis ahead of Lloyd you've got him at rb5 yeah I mean Ray Davis has just done it everywhere he's been uh he had a bunch of stops in college he's looked good at Buffalo as well I think he's a nice compliment to what James Cook brings so I think he has a role immediately um maybe it's capped a little bit uh with James Cook in front of him being the main pass catcher as Fitz mentioned but this is a guy who can work himself into a three- down rle I think eventually so I'm a big fan of Ray Davis I I really I really like rostering Ray Davis if I have the possibility for it one of the bigger disparities on this list is kamman videll at rb9 in ECR Fitz Kimani Vidal has him rb7 Bogman you got him down at rb2 there was some talk early uh you know during the preseason about I mean there was an article about will viell even make the team that appears to have gone away and you know obviously he went away and you know he's looked somewhat better um I think JK Dobbins like file accounts has looked really good this summer so maybe that takes some of the Shine off vial is like this you know perfect uh you know opportunity to step right into being rb1 in this front heavy offense at the same time we know that injury history with Dobbins so Fitz is that's is that what's kind of on your mind when when you have videll ranked as high as you do yeah and I did debate kamani Videl versus brillan Allen who has reportedly had a really good camp um I think brillan Allen if the Jets have things go according to plan is really never going to be uh startable for you in the first two years because Bree Hall will stay healthy and brillan Allen is just going to be spelling him from time to time I think Videl could still crack the running back rotation for the Chargers um you know with the older and of injured Gus Edwards and the of injured JK Dobbins and this is a team we know worm is going to want to run with Greg Roman calling the plays so I still feel like this was a great landing spot for Videl we always thought that you know the fact that he didn't go until the sixth round maybe scared us a little bit but um now that he has um you know sort of surpassed Isaiah Spiller who was released and sort of surpassed Jared Patterson um and like he's the third guy in a backfield with a pretty shaky number one and number two Bogman what went into ranking videll as low as you did yeah I think really it's the window of opportunity for him I think it's real small right being a six round pick um for a team that has two veterans in front of him and just the fact that he didn't make a lot of noise in the preseason shy beat out Jared Patterson I say a Spiller but he was supposed to that that's not like a a feat right we expected that so to to not really hear him pushing for a starting role you know kind of makes me iffy on him and I think this this is if he's not successful this year they're going to look to replace him in the draft next year there's a lot of prospects coming out um there will be some guys that are free agents as well so I think the shelf life for Videl if he doesn't get rolling real fast is really limited so that's why the guys that I have ahead of them that we'll get into after this I just I like their I like for them to at least have year two year three I'm not 100% sure on Videl the names at the back end here uh in ECR at least in order from 10 to 13 audri ese Tyrone Tracy will Shipley and Dylan lby I really liked ese like coming out as a prospect we talked about it a lot back in in March and April um obviously you know falling to the fifth round and going to a very crowded backfield was you know less encouraging than I would have liked for a landing spot uh Fitz you have him RB 11 bogs you have him rb1 Tyrone Tracy you guys both have at rb9 so a couple of spots ahead of ECR where his rb1 fits Tyrone Tracy what um you know obviously there's you can pay the picture for the opportunity in New York right um is that Tyrone Tracy kind of the main driving force behind it being in the top 10 for you yeah that he pretty much rolled into the first week of preseason games as the running back two behind dein single ter I like that and when we got that injury scare with him um you know turned out to be a false alarm look like he might be done for for the the season that was good but um yeah the fact that he has pretty much stiff armed Eric gray out of the way even though gray has done some some good things in the preseason um that they are still pretty much willing to hand that job to Tracy is encouraging Bogman yeah I mean I think the the big thing about Tyrone Tracy and it was uh if you guys ever seen the movie U 571 the one where they're uh dropping the uh the submarine they're dropping the dep charges and the guys are all kind of crunch uh crouching waiting for these depth CHS to to blow up above them so they don't die I feel like that is what it was like this week seeing running backs get released and seeing if the Giants were going to pick one of them up because I really like Tyrone Tracy I like this opportunity but if they picked up somebody I think that might have signaled yeah we're not so high on Tracy they didn't he's the clear to as Fitz said he rolled into that first preseason game as the number two had the little scare where they brought out the cart for him which by the way they bring out the cart for a hang na in uh training camp guys so yeah I know we panicked about that but he he was fine so um I just really like the opportunity here and it's not just as a running back for him this team is hurting at wide receiver as well this guy played wide receiver when he came into college I think there's a expanded role for him in this Giants offense if he can take the opportunity uh and run with it so I have high expectations for Tracy that reference could not have been more lost on me I have no idea never seen you 571 you know what a submarine is you know what I know what a submarine is yeah okay I was just looking up the cast though while you were talking Matthew M Bill Paxton Harvey kitel and John Bon Joy what a what a group of four there I I would watch that movie um I have seen uh Hunt for Red October that's a great submarine movie that's another good submovie That's a classic for sure um Fitz with audri ese I mean again I kind of professed my love for him as a prospect throughout the draft season Audric Estime then was you know coming pulling back off of that after the the actual draft and kind of reacting to what we saw we like gavon Williams you and I have talked about him a lot as one of our favorite kind of mid to late round running backs um we're interested in jul mlin is there room for ese in this back field or are we just kind of stashing him in not in hopes of an injury but in case there's an injury yeah I mean I I don't know if there's going to be any independent fantasy value barring an injury I I kind of don't think he's going to get enough touches to be fantasy viable this year unless someone gets hurt but he's gonna you know get a few touches a game and be worked into this and we know that there's always a lot of running back value in Shawn Peyton's offenses and usually like multiple fantasy relevant backs in Shawn Payton's offenses like some years two some years three so maybe this will be one of those years where we get three fantasy viable options that would be nice I mean I'm I'm intrigued by ese I I didn't get him any of my rookie drafts and um I I wish I had a little bit of exposure any final thoughts on the running back spots here amongst the rookies Bogman I mean I just had a Chris Ivory flashback when uh Fitz talked about how uh Shawn pton uh uses multiple backs there no I mean I I moved uh Dylan Lobby up uh he's a guy and bra brayan Allen who we talked about a little bit before I moved him up because I really wasn't sure if he was going to have the legs to make it in the NFL so I I have heard that I Davis has been pushing him here recently a guy uh that that I like lower down the list but yeah I mean there's opportunity for all these guys to work I think Bucky um Irving has a nice chance to work Carson steel came out of nowhere as a udfa um for for Kansas City so you know there's there's some horses down here that could possibly do some stuff but you know the the top end guys are the top end guys for a reason even though this class isn't great the top end guys I don't think we're budging if you're talk if you're talking about horses I guess Carson steel must be a Clydesdale with his 47 speed oh there you go yeah he's he's he's a fullback uh but he can play a little halfback so I um I had meant to ask this so before we move off the running back where is Jonathan Brooks for you guys since he's consensus number one where is he amongst all running backs in Dynasty for you Bogman um amongst all RBS I have Brooks let me just double check if I can spell his name right I have him at 17 okay uh is he inside your top 205s yeah 13 I think okay so a bit higher likes the Texas guy higher who's the real Longhorns fan I know uh I just want to give everybody a quick note on draft assistant if you've got any last minute drafts coming up and are overwhelmed trying to prepare for it let me tell you about draft assistant draft assistant simplifies the entire draft process making it the easy way to dominate your fantasy draft it connects to your draft keeps track of everything that's going on and tells you who the best pick is when you're on the clock all you have to focus on is the excitement of making the perfect pick so this season work less and win more with draft assistant at fantasypros.com draft Wizard or on the fantasy football draft Wizard app all right guys let's move to the wide receivers got a ton of them here the clear top three during draft Marvin Harrison Jr. season after the draft and after the summer Marvin Harrison Jr number one Malik neighbors number two Roma dun number three I just want to like skimp by these because they're the really fun exciting you know big name guys to talk about but this is pretty clear both in terms of who these three names are and in terms of what the order is given what we thought of them as prospects given what we saw of the landing spots this is like very clearly in my opinion a tier Fitz do you have any disagreement in terms of like there should be somebody else in this tier or do you disagree with the order of the tier or is it pretty cut and dry for you pretty cut and dried um and we've talked about how I think Bogman and I both have zero doubts and I don't think you do either worm about Marvin Harrison Jr's uh bonafides and like that he's going to be a star we're pretty sold on that but Malik neighbors had such a good camp I've at least given thoughts to um you know what what more would it take for me to move neighbors past Harrison I I don't think I have Daniel Jones as his QB I think I mean but like even that I I'm not worried about it like I just think neighbors is so good that it doesn't matter that he's um not going to get optimal quarterbacking so I've thought about it I was actually just having a conversation with uh Evan Silva the great analyst for establish the run and Evan has moved Malik neighbors past Marvin Harrison Jr and his redraft rankings so um you know like I I don't think it's a crazy thing to consider but for now I'm just keeping these guys where they are and feel great about all of Harrison neighbors and Odun going into the regular season what what quarterback would the Giants need to trade for and obviously it's not realistic that they would trade for like an actual high level quarterback but in this fantasy land where they everything is exactly the same but they could trade for any quarterback would they need to add a Dak Prescott for you to consider neighbors ahead of Marvin Harrison J would it need to be like oh they had a Patrick Mahomes now that's the only way neighbors his head like what level of quarterback would be enough to actually say like you would push him ahead or is there not one is Harrison just that good that even if you consider it you can't actually bring yourself to make that move it would take you give the Giants Jared gof fits jar come that's too low well no I just like Harrison so much they would take like a really good quarter it would take like Joe burrow level for me to oh okay okay okay Bogman did you feel any inclination to switch these guys given what we saw some of these fun preseason highlights I mean there haven't really been that many Marvin Harrison Jr pre season highlights it's just like we just know he's good and have a lot of trust in that and neighbors is kind of the one getting the fun CLI on social media was there any thought to switching them or I mean there wouldn't have been for me no there there wasn't and you know just overall among wide receivers like I I have these guys at five six and 10 so like they're all inside my top 10 wide receivers uh so they're just really good and there's no budging so I if I want to do anything it' probably be moving romad dun up because he's looked so good and now you know Keenan 's 230 pounds obviously he's not going to be good at that weight okay whatever I mean I don't know maybe gets hurt like if you want to say Keen Allen's gonna get hurt fine but not good guy be good good at 350 he'd still get open I think so um yeah I Roman dun moving up would be the only change that I would make and that was in the overall how many guys do you think are in the next year because some of the names coming up you know in terms of the order we have them on ECR Xavier worthy lad makoni Brian Thomas Keon Coleman Ricky piol ad Mitchell I I can see Fitz is holding up four so I would that be those first four worthy lad Brian Thomas and Kean Coleman is that the next tier I think that's it okay I think that's probably right I just wanted to leave it open I mean Ricky peera if if auk does move next year starts to look really good you know ad Mitchell has the talent but I think you're right that it's those four is that the right order Bogman worthy makoni Thomas and Coleman because I think I would probably change that up I'm curious what you would say no I have worthy Coleman makoni Bryant Thomas is my order okay that's not the order I would have changed it to Fitz what's your quickly so um I've got worthy Thomas makoni and Coleman I've actually moved Thomas past both makoni and Coleman I feel like I feel like I made a mistake by uh not having him like he's proven himself to me with the the training camp he's had and I think maybe he's got a star he's got star potential that maybe makoni and Coleman don't have I'm still pretty high on Keon um I'm just I don't know the the makoni Keon thing has just vexed me all off season like I've had those guys if I could make that a tie and make them both uh what six and a half in my rankings I would do that because like I have considered those guys basically Inseparable lean towards the better offense even though they're very different receivers I mean like they are yeah like not exactly anything alike I would agree with you Fitz I would I wory you know at fourth among these guys you know first among the guys we're talking about now but fourth overall among the rookie rookie wide receivers and then Brian Thomas for me is like definitively fifth um I think he's looked really good um I think he will be very good right away I think I think the fact that he's not Harrison neighbors or adun has kind of overshadowed that he was a really good prospect on his own right I mean he's a top 20 pick um he could have been a higher pick if it wasn't for these other three guys kind of overshadowing him through some of the draft process uh I think there actually is an there's like a lot of names in Jacksonville for Trevor Lawrence to throw to but I don't know that there's anybody that fits the same skill set as Brian Thomas Andrew Ericson has been on this case terms of redraft for a lot of this summer Thomas is one of his favorite sleepers um and it you know I I it makes me like him more for redraft but I really like him for dnasty as well so I have Thomas like in that top five we were just talking about that on the redraft thing where the last time I was sort of confused about whether a guy was good because he was playing with a really good quarterback at LSU and playing opposite a really good receiver it was Justin Jefferson at LSU turned out he was pretty good and it was they also had terce Marshall uh so I mean look we've seen hits and misses I mean when when Jefferson had his crazy good season though with LSU I'm like okay how much of this is that he's playing uh you know with Jamar Chase drawing all this defensive attention and has Joe burough as quarterback and obviously like Brian Thomas had a pretty good setup with Jaden Daniels as his quarterback and Malik neighbors as the other receiver um but like we are seeing now I think that Brian Thomas is really really good it wasn't just him being a product of uh you know good teammates and a good offense relative to these other guys Bogman are you fading Thomas I mean you have him kind of last in this I'm not fading him no not even a little I mean I have these guys even in my overall all in a group together so I have them 23 through 26 so I have them all in the same range for sure so I'm not fading any of them I just you know uh I think that there's opportunities to be number one W this year for Coleman and lad mcon I I don't know if that exists for Brian Thomas it could because I'm down on Christian Kirk I don't really like him but you still have Christian Kirk you still have Evan Ingram you still have Travis etn you're gonna throw the ball to so I do think that some of his games are going to be hit and miss which is fine for a rookie and but it doesn't mean that I'm down on him no it's just that I do think immediately from the jump Coleman and makoni could be number ones in their system so but they are in the same tier and I would be happy to move Thomas to the top of it if I'm mistaken at the end of this year you guys both have ad Mitchell wide receiver eight amongst the rookies uh behind three names who all went ahead of him uh Adonai Mitchell Ricky peera Xavier Legette and Jaylen pulk all were drafted earlier than ad Mitchell um but you have them all behind him in the dynasty rankings what went into that Bogman besides him being a longhorn well yeah I mean I just think that the disappointment that we've seen from Alec Pierce now we did see you know this Richardson and Josh DS combo uh happening and I gave thought to moving Mitchell down a little bit because I think it was Alec Pierce played like 95% of the snaps and only had 66 targets or whatever it was last season so they didn't really look at him that was with Gardner mshu and he's gone though so I just think uh ad I Mitchell has a chance to be a really good wide receiver I think his upside is higher than some of the other guys here doesn't mean it's going to happen for him but I think with the rest of these guys beyond the the top guys that we've talked about I'm looking for absolute ceiling and I think ad and I has the most of it out of this group same thoughts Fitz yeah I actually moved him up quite a bit um there were some things that sort of scared me about him as a prospect like his uh pretty poor yards per route run number which was I I think you know below um forget who was talking about this but like below their threshold of sort of acceptable Prospect level and sort of put them in the the Do Not draft range but man like the size speed combination is really impressive and I have seen some reports from Colts training camp where uh the beat writers were talking about like there are moments when you see it and see why everyone was like hot and heavy for this guy in the draft like when when he can turn it on like he can just um kind of physically with his size and his speed just overpower quarterbacks and so I don't know that's what I'm hoping we'll see and I I wouldn't be surprised if it was sort of a a tepid rookie year for ad I Mitchell but I I think he's a guy worth holding on to and and seeing if he can tap in all that potential I mentioned pulk as wide receiver 11 after that Jaylen McMillan wide receiver 12 this is an ECR by the way Jermaine Burton wide receiver 13 Javon Baker wide receiver 14 Luke mcaffrey at 15 Troy Franklin at 16 and Roman Wilson at 17 uh the biggest disparity here between the two of you guys is with McMillan uh Fitz has in Jalen McMillan wide receiver 10 Bogman wide receiver 16 among the rookies I would definitely lean closer to Fitz I really like what I've seen out of him this Summer and um I I know that well I'd like to think that like if he wasn't at Washington and also playing with PK and adun that maybe he could have gotten more shine in college but I think he's looked really good Bogman why are you still a little lower on him it's not even that I'm low on McMillan because I like McMillan it's that I just like this wide receiver class there's a lot to great class it's awesome really is and with absolute ceiling I just think that peaw Burton uh Baker maybe even mcaffrey I think if we're talking about absolute ceiling it doesn't always hit that way right like um it so it may take some of these guys a year or two to become good contributors but their ceiling is still higher to me I think they have a higher ceiling than McMillan that that is my only scrap with him but I have a big tier of these guys and I like all of them can I just point out to Bogman that um pulk didn't really pop at Washington until McMillan got hurt and uh like McMillan's second to last year at Washington he had more catches and touchdowns than Roma dun had like McMillan is really good and I I personally think he's a better receiver than pul I know uh de bro shares that after after film study on the Washington receivers if we put Millan uh in New England I would have these guys flip I I was going to say the opportunity is so for both pulk and Baker like there is a clear path to you could wind up being the number one receiver for a quarterback prospect we all really like and that's this season right that's the thing like we know it's not happening for McMillan behind Godwin and Evans but they're like rolling with this receiver like receiver by committee situation in New England and this is going to be such so do the Packers it's going to be such a pop passing attack though the Packers are going to have 4,500 passing yards to spread around that's true that the Patriots are going to maybe have 3,500 yeah but I also think that if some of these young guys stand out for New England they're not coming off the field they'll rotate until they they find the guys they want it should be that way I mean it would be coaching malpractice to be playing Kendrick Bourne over Devon Baker and Jaylen Hulk yes I agree with you 100% on that Fitz you've got Burt and Baker backto back in your rankings are also back toback in ECR um how do you kind of pick between those two Jermaine Burton because they seem similar to me in terms of The Upside Cas is pretty apparent but there's no guarantees yeah same I mean it was just um and I I've moved both guys down since uh you know Baker seems to have kind of Fallen to the the bottom of that wide receiver rotation with New England and uh Burton has gotten outplayed by Andre yach in uh training camp so like I think the Vibes on both of those guys are not real great coming out of their first training games what do you think about those two Bogman I'm really like I like Burton being in Cincinnati for when T Higgins is gone right when T Higgins goes I think that you give Burton a second year I think that he could easily pass Yos saach right obviously Jamar Chase is gonna get paid and that whole Saga is going to be done with so uh but Higgins will be gone and we're going to be looking for a two and I think next year's going to be Burton so I'm pretty high on him I have him at 11 last receiver that I wanted to hit on was Luke mcaffrey uh Fitz has in wide receiver 11 Bogman you're in line with ECR wide receiver 15 so fits you Luke McCaffrey are ahead on mcaffrey is there anything that you saw this Summer that makes you feel that way is it the trade of Johan doson yeah I saw the commanders trade Johan doson away um I I feel like with the last name mcaffrey uh that that holds some sway with me I hard to see a mcaffrey uh busting out of the NFL like great Bloodlines and we got to remember this guy's only been playing wide receiver for a few years like he has made rapid progress and uh like I think he's going to fit into the Commander's offense pretty pretty swimmingly here and like there's it's not a hard depth chart for him to ascend like Terry M McLaren's at the top and it's pretty wide open below that any last thoughts on the receiver position mcaffry included Bogman I mean mcaffrey I have moved up as as well I had him pretty low here um I'm not I don't know who's going to be two I know dami Brown is getting a lot of hype as well finally uh I thought he was good coming out of North Carolina has never really put it together so maybe just the right coaching staff uh is unlocking him a little bit so but mcaffrey has a huge opportunity here so uh and you know we heard that they were using him out of the back field and putting him in reverses and all running all kinds he's a mcaffrey so let's run all kinds of weird stuff with him too so I'm I'm excited this is just such a deep class because I mean even past that Jordan Whittington had a huge uh preseason Ryan floro for the uh Cowboys has been moving on up um you know I there there are some there's some really good deeper prospects among these wide receivers as well yeah Whittington not going in any drafts back in April or May and I think he'd probably be what uh maybe a late third in a lot of uh drafts now hey if you love guys that are going to end up on the IR keep a spot open for Whittington he will be there I I took him in a uh startup in like round 22 or something um earlier this this summer um so I enjoyed that one um I I once again forgot to ask the question I meant to at the top which is where is Marvin Harrison Jr amongst all wide receivers in Dynasty for you guys and I also want to ask about neighbors now you already mentioned Bogman that they're all in your top 10 so Fitz I'm curious for you Harrison Neighbors in a dunesday roughly where you have those guys I think they're all top 10 for me I think Harrison is four neighbors five and Odun a 10 yeah so that that's roughly the same as as uh Bogman and I would agree with that it might be five and six I can't remember whether I have I know I have um them if it's five six and 10 we're right in line what I have Jefferson Chase lamb and then I can't remember whether I I think I might have Aman raw ahead of those two guys too I think I would have Harrison ahead but obviously would be thrilled with either like maybe getting out over my skis a bit on the rookie but just that much of a Believer um you know would would be thrilled with any of these guys as your wide receiver one in Dynasty and if you can have two of them you know that's amazing um all right let's wrap up with the tight ends and I will not forget to ask this time tight end one consensus ECR both for Fitz and for for Bogman Brock Bowers so let's ask the same question Bogman where is Bowers amongst all tight ends for you among all Brock Bowers tight ends I have him uh two I have him uh or excuse me three I have leapor McBride Bowers Fitz Numero Uno I think he's the best tight end Prospect to ever coming in the NFL I'm jealous I'm jealous I just we've seen leapor do it Trey McBride did it like that's the thing is like leapor and McBride are have done it and they're still super young and like have so much runway in their careers left so it's really hard to put anybody over them especially fit making me feel like a coward I feel like a coward Fitz what are you doing to me I don't know that it's cowardly I think you're kind of just smart B I got him five in fired fired I I I appreciate that you have conviction in your ranking and it's not listen I don't dislike Bowers at all and I think he totally deserves in the top five and and arguably in the top three but tight ends sometimes take longer to kind of make their footprint and and Lea being an exception to that rule last year is one of the reasons why we are so excited about him at Dynasty but you know tight end typically take a little longer to get their footing um it's not the best landing spot in terms of the quarterback they also have Michael Mayer these are not reasons to hate Brock Bowers there's just reasons to say hey we have these like couple of elite young tight ends who have already done it like there's a reason leaport is like one of the most coveted tight ends in a dynasty startup setting in a while like because he's young and has already done it is in in this good offense you know Trey McBride same thing so um to me like those guys are kind of unsalable in Dynasty um I'm fine having Bowers over somebody like King Cade who was really good last year for a rookie tight end and arguably is getting a little too overshadowed by leaport but I think it's a more reasonable case but to me leaport and McBride it's really hard to look elsewhere I just have that Green Goblin uh you know from Spider-Man in the background coward coward I will screaming at me when I'm doing my rankings I will graciously accept your apology in 2025 worm I like Bowers a lot to be clear and I was not scared off from him in rookie drafts by the landing spot at all but but if you're taking him over reporter then I would say Godspeed Spiderman I I don't know about that one um but he in this class consensus number one um easily and number one overall for for Fitz um after that two and three you guys have him in reverse order but it's the same two and three in ECR it's Ben snate and jatavian Sanders shocker that uh the longhorn is ranked Higher by Bogman hold on hold on though because Senate is third on the dep chart behind John Bates in s was running with ones in the last preseason gam so reason come on yeah yeah yeah don't act like I'm crazy did you see that that catch senate had in the preseason though where he looked like George KD where he just had guy it took like seven guys to try to bring him down on that play like he's going to be a he's gonna be he is so much fun to watch he really is Bogman the reason I bring up you being a longhorn guy so much is because everybody loves to bring up me being a Ravens fan and accuse me of being a homer for like liking Derrick Henry even though I just think it's smart to like Derrick Henry this something to do like with the fact that I like the Ravens so I'm like kind of deflecting that on to you apologetic Homer as the Homer abuse I take for being a Ravens fan I have to project onto you for being a Texas Fan no no it it is more than F I mean but I did just say Jordan whittington's gonna spend his whole career on the IR right well by by the way next year I will be the biggest Roman HMI fan of all time uh as as an actual legitimate turps Prospect so um I I can respect it uh Fitz you do have Senate at tight end too Ben Sinnott in this class I do and uh just like I like JT Sanders too um but like draft capital I think tells the tale and how Senate was seen by the NFL and that squeezing into the second round um but you know Sanders has reportedly had a pretty good training camp and uh it's going to be interesting to see if he can carve out a like fantasy relevant role pretty soon in his rookie year the other tight ends here in the top seven in order Theo Johnson tight end four Cade Stover tight end five Jared Wy tight end six Eric all tight end seven I don't understand why all you Erick All guys both have him at four so you agree with me I don't understand why he's down at seven Bogman yeah I mean I don't get it maybe people are afraid of Mike aiki but um I you know tight ends take a little bit to develop and there's not much that's going to happen I feel like for a lot of these tight ends beyond the top three for this season so again let's go with absolute upside and for Fantasy Eric all has the most upside of the guys left yeah Bowers is the only guy that you're like really could be relying on as like a starter on your team depending on how you do your build everybody else you're playing for the future in Dynasty like to me all's upside is as high as anybody other than Bowers he he does have a worrisome injury history but the main one was his back and he had back surgery and he's he claims that he feels like as good as new after this pack surgery like he is good to go so if that's the case um you know and he's still got to ascend the depth chart but Bengals did use a lot of different tight ends last year so I do think he has a good chance to see the field even though they've got I think another rookie tight ended tan uh Tanner mlin mclocklin um so but you know like I think he's got a chance to play at some point this year for the Bengals and it's a pretty good offense to be it yeah I'm not saying he should be tight end two you know behind only Bowers but I think you guys have it right at tight end four like he shouldn't be behind CAD over like Jared Wy unless you think he's like the successor to Travis Kelce which I'm that could have been so that Theo Johnson's a great athlete but not the best situ like I just think oh like is is I think he's closer to the top three than he is to the bottom three Theo is Theo is this year's Darnell Washington test like a champ but he's just not that good at catching passes yeah yeah I agree do you guys like Wy at all as your potential you Jared Wiley know the next guy behind Kelsey in terms of tight end for Patrick Mahomes I I mean there there's a little juice there for sure uh I think so you know it was uh kind of dicey was he going to make it through Cuts so um I don't know if he did either did did he get cut and brought back on the practice quad I can't remember but I I I know I know he's still in Kansas City regardless so I I do I do still like him but I mean he's doing nothing this year they got Kelsey and Noah gray so he was cut if he was cut I miss that he made it yeah look four Chiefs still on thin nice despite surviving roster Cuts he appears in that article okay maybe I was G say I might have missed it something but yeah um I mean again like a guy like that I just think should be behind somebody like Eric all um fits any other kind of overall thoughts on the tight ends no that's it um we're not expecting much impact besides like obviously Bowers is the the headliner here so it's going to be really interesting to see I'm I'm encouraged though that um we are seeing him used in like as that Swiss army knife where he lineup in line outside in the slot in the back field and um so far we're seeing that sort of usage in uh well I mean he's he's dinged up right now but in the first preseason game he lined up in like four different spots so that's pretty encouraged not a tight end he's a weapon what what do you expect year one I mean if he gets if we get 16 games or 17 games out of him like I think we're going to see 60 to 70 catches and 700 800 yards maybe not quite the season leaport had last season but really close I mean that it's similar to almost like a concade or like slightly better than what he was as a rookie which again was really really good it was just overshadowed by leaport as a rookie um Bogman we'll wrap up on same question what do you expect from Bowers year one I got him tight end five man like I am just super excited for Brock Bowers I think you know like I I just said you can't view him as a tight end he is a football weapon he is great with the ball in his hands they're going to set up short routes for him screen passes reverses they're going to hand the ball off to him on occasion as well he's going to be used a lot in this offense maybe not week one because he's a little nicked up or whatever but in the season once they get comfortable with him he's going to see the ball a lot I like the first five tight ends in ECR a whole lot Closing way too much to put Bowers in there but I respect it and it would be super fun to see I would love to see him come in and hit the ground running and just be awesome right away because he like you said is a total weapon and would be super fun just for the fantasy landscape at tight end to have another one of these young Dynamic guys that would rule um all right we'll get out of there on that thank you everybody for tuning in and thank you everybody for tuning in like throughout the summer and really like I said since January when I came on to the show and you know just a lot of rookie talk and draft talk and D strategy talk and startup mock draft it's been super fun we're not going anywhere again don't unsubscribe or anything like that we will be around there will be a presence during the season um it will change then of course we'll be back to our usual uh you know stuff with the three of us uh you know together starting in January again but again we're not going anywhere it'll just look a little different here for the next few months so um it's been a really fun first uh offseason hosting with you guys truly it's uh I think it's been a really fun show so I really appreciate everybody who's listened I appreciate you guys for kind of letting me join the crew and uh yeah we're g to keep this thing rolling into the season and and have a good time we'll get out of there love the edition of worm thank you for joining us worm it's been very pleasurable I'll I'll venmo you guys later thank you for saying that double for me I said it first for for Bogman and for Fitz I'm Ryan warmley thanks everybody for tuning in and we'll see you again next time
