2024 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend Recap! Plus How Did Manny Get That Many Pictures?

good morning running ears it's Manny again and we just finished the whole season not only did spring surprise over but the whole season is now over so we start again in September we still got news coming up so we're going to find out the theming probably in May for the Disneyland run people have already been asking about princess but Disneyland is coming first and also you got to remember in may we probably have some sales for uh Club run Disney that's coming up too uh so let's go we're going to go ahead and recap what happened at Springtime surprise and I think I might do a recap video for the whole season just to go over it but uh before we do guys if you have not already please subscribe to the channel uh hit the notification Bell so that way you get a video every time these come out again we try to get this as for informative as possible remember this is your channel keep asking questions keep messaging me on social media because of you I make these videos guys but let's let's get going on what just transpired so I'm going to go over just the whole scenario of what happened from the Expo 5k 10K the half all that stuff and then I'll go into the the the ugly the good and the uh the well the the ugly the Bad and the good and so there's a lot to talk about but we'll start off with the expo well to me the Expo went pretty well uh I really enjoyed it I hit I didn't get a a good group but I was still able to get what I want wanted there was still stuff there at that time I was probably in within about an hour hour or so uh so that was there I was able to pick up my bib very very quickly and if you don't know this whenever you go and you pick up your bib that's where they move the characters to so I'm going to do something I'm going to put a whole bunch of character pictures at the end so wait till the end or forward to the end if you want to see this but get this information this is actually pretty cool at the Expo I met a lot more of you guys out there um I walked around had a great time didn't really interact a lot within the Expo itself when I went to go pick up my shirts I was quick in and out I went back the last day if you guys want a big tip the last day there's hardly anybody in line so if you like the characters go back the last day it's only 11: to 3 usually the LA the last Saturday but you're able to get in line very very quickly the 5K was awesome it's not timed I was in corral d I stayed there it was great I only took one character picture again I'll put it at the very end uh thanks to Prince Eric who was waiting in line he had taken off I believe in B and so he's waiting in line for quite a while and by the time I got there we were almost in the front we took a couple of pictures there and then moved on but that was the only picture that I stopped for but it you know again after the first mile we're basically in Epcot the last two miles roughly and then we exit uh the character lines are the longest because there is no um there is no sweeping time there's no 60 Minute per mile Pace uh requirement so it was great the 10K was awesome uh so I started back with the balloon ladies and uh Prince Eric and I basically stayed with them almost the first uh the whole time we stayed a little bit in front to try to get pictures uh guys I'm going to just say this I go the the biggest tip I can give you if you start back there the first at least half half of the runs uh you are going to be able to get any picture that you want because and I I I still have this in my mind where you're running up somewhere and all of a sudden you just hear balloon ladies 30 seconds behind you balloon ladies 1 minute behind you and you hear that and all these people just leave so you just run up there and you take pictures somebody uh went out there and said hey you're playing with fire and um and I believe they did this on purpose to say hey if you if you do this now I know my pace so I know that I can stay in front of the balloon ladies so I do this on purpose whenever I hear that I Sprint in front take the quick picture and actually if you watch the videos the balloon ladies got into a lot of the pictures it was fantastic to see I'm I'm liking that they're having fun because everybody thinks that you know uh that they always have fun and a lot of times they cannot take pictures they cannot take restroom breaks it's hard for them to to to they have to keep that 16 minute per mile pace so they get stopped um whenever they're going too fast or they get told to pick up the pace when whenever they're going too slow so I thought it was great to to do that and of course it's always uh and if you don't know this there's an unofficial balloon guy Dennis who is awesome and so I like running with him and that brings me to the half marathon because I stayed with them including Dennis for quite a while and one of the things that I'll say about the good uh and that's going to come up a little bit later also is the characters because there is rare characters during this race if you're interested in doing these races this might be some something that takes you over uh and and makes you sign up for these races is because there is usually rare characters on the course and again I'll have pictures at the very end so you guys can see them uh funny story about uh one of the First characters I didn't know who it was I walked up there took a picture and as I came out the balloon ladies actually asked me goes Manny who was that and I said I have no idea I had to look it up it was characters from Strange World and I've never seen that movie I have to go and watch it to understand where these characters came from but guys I'm going to take this a little bit different so instead of saying The Good the Bad and the Ugly I'm going to go the ugly the The Bad and The Good the only thing that I thought was ugly and it wasn't ugly in the sense that it was controlled we didn't see this coming but there was quite a few people who went down uh for whatever reason I did not witness any of these going down I got to see some of the aftermaths but the major one was after mile 7 Somebody went down I came in a little bit later so I did not get to see anything I didn't get to see happened I got to see some of the scenes which is not a good uh what I got to see was not good I won't go into details the only thing guys I always say this I'm trying to say this uh protect uh the privacy of that person uh from my understanding is the person is okay but I'm not going to push the envelope unless they come out and say themselves so I don't 100% know like sounds like they're okay it sounds like everybody was okay and that's great to hear uh when you're doing these races one thing I kept thinking about because people start pushing themselves they start running a little bit faster and all of a sudden it gets a little bit hotter what I noticed was the heat on the ground was not forgiving at all and so when the heat hits the ground it bounces right back up so my feet were burning at at times and so that's a good indicator how hot it is and of course the Sweat Equity and some people don't sweat as much but if if your feet start burning you have that indication that it's pretty hot out there and it was pretty hot out there so you want to slow down your pace a little bit and that's done with training and so if you guys are training especially in the cold weather it's a good idea to learn how to slow down your pace if you have to if you must and so it's something that needs to be done but I think a lot of people just went in there they went a little a bit too hard they might have not hydrated they might have not prehydrated and so that's something that's a different time topic that I won't get into but uh I'm just glad that it sounds like everybody is okay uh I I hope to God everybody's okay if you want to share a story you're more than welcome to but again there is no pressure about sharing the story so you guys can share if you want to or not so the bad and we're going to have to go over etiquette because there was in some of the videos that you can see is the photo stop etiquette and that's one of the things that I think we have to work on a little bit more uh people are starting to run and I and if you see me I'll even record and I say I'm going to run in and then I'm going to run out so that people can get pictures a lot of people I I saw were cutting people off I myself would be running all a sudden somebody would run in and they would stay there so I wouldn't get a good picture but uh people you got to remember this it's a picture for everybody and that's okay that you can run in there and get a picture I'm okay with that I even told some people come on in and that's okay but come in take a couple pictures take out go out uh same thing when you're doing character stops I said 4 seconds there was some people people that sat there and going when I want to post here and I want to do this and I want to do this that's okay during the 5K once we get to the 10K and the half it is timed so when people are doing this and I got to witness this uh towards the end or towards the the 10mile when the balloon ladies were coming I just left them and I was trying to take a picture and people were sitting there going like and I want to do this now come on in now go ahead and go out and do this and that's not a good thing guys so please please remember take be considerate of others go in there already have your pose in mind if you have two do them real quickly 4 seconds and you should be out of there 4 seconds out 4 seconds out and that should be that should be the norm the last thing that I want to say was ugly because I got to witness this was not good it was on my video uh somebody just walked up and just stood in front of of uh somebody taking the photographs uh and that's not that's not good at all and when they called him out and said hey you're going to have to move they turned around and looked at him like I don't want to move I'm going to just stand here and what you're doing is you're blocking the way what I didn't understand is there was a whole bunch of space around and they didn't move if you see this and I did say something real quick and I know a lot of people did too people are going to have to move uh that is not courteous this is not run Disney this is not just this is just not human you don't do this to to people I don't understand why this happened hopefully uh hopefully this gets taken care of in future but this is the first time I've witnessed this like this and hopefully it's the last time now we're going to go to the good I thought everything went well the Expo seemed to have a good smooth uh transition from one thing to another uh even uh even getting a later uh checking time for the virtual queue I was okay with that and I was able to get some stuff and that's fine uh so I thought that was good I thought overall the runs were handled very well they the Corrals were going a little bit quicker I they were basically on time a little bit quicker just to make sure that people got out before it got too hot I thought another part of the good was uh the course I thought the course was fine it's basically been the same course the last 3 years I don't think it's going to change that that much I hope it does every once in a while just so we can see a little bit different things now what they do add that helps with the course is the rare characters and again I'm going to put pictures at the very very end so the rare characters are pretty cool because you're going to run up to them and there's going to be characters that you don't see on a regular basis so that is an awesome uh little thing that they had another thing that was now I'm going to start going to the great the great uh is that John pelky ran with us I thought that was awesome it was great to see John out there running with us and so I like this for the fact that you know when you're in part of the announce team you're part of the background group and you don't partake in this you don't understand what's really going on you can see it and you can witness it but it's not the same when you're out there and I really really like that I really really appreciate it uh I got to talk to him a little bit afterward he said he felt good great uh if you're watching John that was awesome uh we're glad to have you out there and you're more than welcome to come back and run with us whenever you want to now let's see if we can get Riley to do it and that transitions me into another reason that we like to do this so the great is the stories and that's one of the reasons I really appreciate uh Riley Claremont he is great great great and I can't even say great enough at just bringing out the stories and sharing them a lot of people were talking to me afterward going this is the reason I come I love the stories I love to uh to hear uh people overcoming and they're here that is something that is fantastic I think that's part of the reason that a lot of people do run Disney because they feel comfortable this is not only just a running Community it's a running family and once that people get in they get hooked because again people are sitting there and they're encouraging they're trying to get people there and of course we talked about the characters already and the courses to where we get to take some cool pictures so Al together that made it great and the last great thing I want to talk about is you guys you guys always make it magical you make it magical throughout you make it magical for me one of the reasons I keep going is I get to meet more and more and more of you guys uh either at the airport in the expo at the resorts in the Parks and then of course during the runs and it is fantastic it's great sometimes I'll be running and somebody interacts with me um and so we start chitchatting it's always great I love chitchatting with you guys if I'm ever have to go somewhere and stuff I apologize ahead of time I try to talk to everybody as much as I can um and that's what I try to do try to practice what I preach but uh it is fantastic it is great I love love love listening to your guys stories you guys are awesome you're the reason I do this and I continue to go back so I am wearing the Star Wars cap because yes I am still pushing that hopefully next year's the the next Springtime surprise will be star Star Wars uh we won't be getting the theming for a while again we have Disneyland coming up next and then so that's going to be within the next month within the next couple months is going to be princess and about two within the next 3 months we'll get the next Springtime surprise and I might be able to get a couple of hints of what's coming up if I do I'll try to share with you uh so without further Ado do you have any highlight uh do you have anything
