yeah without a doubt I mean between shots you've got to take some off look at Charlie there she's got a great big jacket on on the pting green she said after her round yesterday she was heading for the putting green because she was not happy with her her Pace patting working there with Nick sto her her putting coach yeah this is what you see most of the players doing they'll get those machines out there that that one's probably for the eyes I'd imagine also obviously you put it through those front two t pegs how far you take it back there's all sorts of different gadgets players have they all have their favorites it's just a there magician tactician got another one one beautician no but no that don't work oh come on ba us out to Charlie h t off in 45 minutes like you can see been down doing a putting now over to the range couple of autographs she's asked for a few herself hasn't she throughout her career went for Paul Creer in a soul home cup less that was one of the best moments in the history of women's golf I think and if people don't don't know they haven't heard that story charie was playing against pauler and just annihilated her see the range down in the bottom left there is Charlie Hull who will start the day three shots back of the lead of Nelly cter and Iona Steven down there watching on being our range spy for us yes good afternoon Ally I'm down here just snuck behind Charlie watching her go through the motions here as she starts to warm up and to be honest she's getting close to the end of the long long game part of the warmup she's got the driver in hand now and she's just working on some low ball flights you can see her trying to work the ball just ever so slightly from right to left just to hold this wind that's coming from the left on her back it's not nearly as strong as it has been in the last couple of days thank goodness for that but she's looking very focused body language she really means business business right now Adam Woodward on the bag great partnership and Matt belam our coach isn't here anymore he's G to wait for the weekend but I know they've been working hard the last couple of days Matt belam also works with the likes of Matt Wallace Alex norin so they've been together for quite a long time and Charlie looking like she's going to bring some business to the course today Al yeah I know she's one of the few players that uh modern day players I think that tease the ball quite low with a driver two pairs left to go what a weekend ahead of Charlie Hull he'll be out alongside roning Yen and this penultimate pair truckloads of talents between these two on the tea from England Charlie Hall she'll have the crowd behind it they're out in that standing room only down there alongside the first for the 28-year-old from kering who almost got the fairy tale finish 12 months ago a runner up to Lilia vu in the hunt again this weekend she'll do everything she can to rewrite the final chapter in her own terms out here on Saturday and Sunday that's a great way to start Jack goes back on like it has all week long Charlie Hall gets her Camp pairing Yen playing with Charlie Hall 67 to lead after round one fought hard to get it back to even par in round two and she begins three shots back as she tries to win her first major championship you know she's going to be relishing the moment today these conditions I love what she said I'm only three back that's nothing on Links Golf said it hasn't necessarily been her favorite through the years more of an American style play of days playing straight in tells you how different the conditions are today Charlie after a part the first at two I have a feeling with these conditions today Charlie's going to play some aggressive golf it's in her nature and without the severity of the Wind that we saw the first couple of days she's going to play a little bit more her typical style of golf feels like a penalty if you get it up anywhere near the front of it it's a tough hole location today over the giant Mound protecting the front of this green want to be left if anything looks like it's drifting in the other in the other direction it's going to fall into the big collection area on the right there this is one of the most severe greens you'll find anywhere especially okay refocus let's let's go get it long birdie putt for Charlie up ahead at the second green it's just slow so slow up that Ridge it's a big adjustment for all the players this week typically to three Charlie Hall on the T really struggled with her putting yesterday some short ones early on said she was going to do some work on speed drills Tia green has been comfortable with the way she's hitting the ball working on trying to flight it down a little bit was there anything that you did when you were playing in this Championship on the link I was a low ball hitter in general so it was a little bit easier for me to keep the ball under the wind the opposite when I got to golf courses that were firmer was hard harder for me to stop it when there wasn't any wind but you did win your major championship on a golf course that can be firm and fast and it was that year it was tough that was Mission Hills of course and what is is now known as the Chevron Championship Charlie second the club twirl usually indicates that a player likes it yeah good shot there from Charlie it's just a really this putt here for Charlie Tom a big momentum putt for her to get her day started on the in the on the right tone yeah to tie the lead now for Charlie Hull and it is a birdie so it's a tie at the top with Charlie Hull and Nelly cter I thought it was interesting yesterday after her round Charlie didn't really know where she stood even though she was playing alongside Nelly cter really focusing on her own game and uh she realized it was three shots and she said well that's nothing on this golf court she's going to have the entire UK pulling for her all weekend Charlie Hall tied for the lead no better follow through no better recoil than Charlie Hall and what a start for her at the second uh fourth rather the second shot for Charlie Hall this fourth has been one of the toughest holes today the whole right side of the green falls off she ends up in the low area there she's always champing at the bit to get out to the golf course loves to play more than practice she practices plenty but loves to play the game and is she all right Nelly back up by one Charlie for birdie at four again slow putt uphill into the wind 36 putts yesterday after tying for the few in round 127 it looks like she's a little bit more dialed in with her speed so far this is the par PUD for Charlie how about this start yeah she's she just looks really focused looks very much in control I thought it was interesting got off to a really horror start at the Olympics said she was a bit nervous but yet here she's played in some of the biggest of this hole playing half a shot under its par today and the easiest hole on the golf course for scoring Seven Sisters bunkers down the right looks like she may have found one of them there Tom can't quite tell yeah a couple of the bunkers just jot into the fair so this is where Charlie drove it she did drive it in the sand on the right side one of the seven bunkers down the right and they jumped couple of them J into the Fairway there so Charlie playing safe well Seven Sisters bunkers over on the right one of which caught Charlie and now her third to the par five look like a real hanging livee there Tom got to watch out for that bunker it just came out so low there looked like came out the hill and she has found one of the spectacle bunkers that that is a horrible place to be she's going to have to nearly chip out again yeah and she's already done that once on this hole that looked like the ball was quite little oh Tom this is not what you want to see especially at this hole yeah these are the bunkers that you have to avoid with the second shot and obviously she was going for the green hit a poor one and that's the reason you got to come backwards and she's yeah that's that mound that the bunkers are set into get a feeling now that it's starting to get more difficult the little bit of cloud cover the wind kicking up the sounds are a bit different too yeah yeah we can even hear it here in our booth it's definitely rattling around a little bit more this important one for Charlie didn't want to drop two shots on a par five one's bad enough try and get it up and down for a bogey little underneath it there for Charlie Hull at the fifth so it is going to be a seven at the par five for Charlie and she was talking about how standing by the first t on the sixth T Charlie Hull trying to bounce back after a double does it feel worse because it was on that fifth hole or is any double ofet feel no Double's going to be very exciting but I mean that whole today playing so she stays two back as we go to the sixth and Charlie second this wh wispy grass looks like it is thick but there's a lot of L of areas where it's not too bad and easy to determine how it's going to come out and a chance for Charlie to bounce back at the sixth Charlie Hull for a bounceback birdie you can tell she's playing the wind here as well long way to go and now Charlie what's the closest did You' consider a tap in in these conditions potting short potting especially is tough um I was surprised she took the flag stick out there we typically see her PO with a left to right as well what happened there here's Charlie going with driver here sometimes players don't hit driver cuz they can run out of Fairway what an aggressive play this is Tom my goodness wow that's actually up by the green she's driven it past shell bunker that is a very unusual PL stand behind the seventh you can watch the seventh and the 11th holes you watch the t-shots at 8 and now Charlie with just a little pit shot to this green trying to bounce back after that double bogey at the fifth have to imagine she had a little chuckle there when she walked up she was also quite tight believe it was on the fourth hole into a very narrow yes into almost a 5 yard wide spot I think went further than she thought on that hole as well but let's see if she can take advantage of it here looks like she's opting to play a bit of a bump and run mentioned earlier how much Charlie likes to play I think that's helpful in the creativity that this golf course requires you cannot recreate these shots anywhere else other than on the golf course it's not something you can really practice on a chipping green or or anything like that yeah she went and played turnbury at the beginning of last week and then played the Scottish open she said it was just really good preparation to get into the links mode chatting away with a caddy there many many years so I've seen it up close now Charlie for the birdie when trying to push it in it just sneaks by so that's up at the par 38 Charlie Hull for birdie she was going around in the practice rounds earlier this week at her putting coach Nick SoDo out here with her it's such an important part of winning any event but especially on different greens than we typically play Ronnie yin's going to have a short birdie putt talking like maybe 3 ft flags on the way out apart from the 18th hole they sometimes change the color of the flag there because it Blends into the background Charlie Hall on the te at number nine come on trying to get it to swing back around and chase something up there we've seen some players get quite close yeah that's fine game spent longer at the top of the world rankings than G Shin three of them are in contention Here Charlie Hull for a birdie those three players of course being Lydia Co Lilia Vu and Nelly cter where you're sitting on the beach they have been tough just like this flag just buffeted at the 10th here's Charlie with a long one promising oh wow and even Ronnie Yen gives her a golf clap stroke since even we came on the air for our segment about two hours ago so Charlie has just seen Ronin come up short she's trying to hit the SA or follow through keep it low but that's going to be short as well won't have to take on the bunker but we'll have to deal with that little Ridge there she's almost in the exact same place she was off the seventh T I was going to say that might be the exact spot 11 yeah this is Charlie's second so she's going to have to go around the Strath bunker good news is there's the back stop and the wind here for Charlie so she can be aggressive and she's exactly what she's [Music] done yeah that was good imagination there that's why put it in theall or what the hell I like the if it runs past it Bank long enough it's going to have a love relationship with it you can keep any of the love after a while you're you're doing well Charlie tied for the lead after just a couple of holes going the other direction trying to play well right almost look like she might have yeah they were concerned again it's those Fair cross bunkers in the Fairway that you can't see that everyone's trying to has a bronze a silver and a gold medal here's Charlie Hall home hopes here in Britain resting with Charlie very popular player over here very popular wherever she goes that one down the left side at 13 just going to run into the rough but shouldn't be too much of an issue the rough here isn't thick like we have seen and Charlie Hall who briefly had a share of the lead early in this third round got it to six under and Nelly bogie a couple and she's trying to Rally like she did yesterday she birdied three holes coming in to shoot even par had the first round lead with a 67 she's been playing some really nice low controlled shots with her wedges yep as I expect a very low little follow through here not particularly long little bit unsettled with I mean the gusting wind even making a lot of noise here in our booth as as well we can tell how it's ratcheted up throughout the day should be noted we got to pay attention to the weather tomorrow as well supposed to be exceptionally windy through the middle of the day with rain following around the time that the leaders teed off today so going to be another ton won it two years in a row 2018 to 2019 Charlie for birdie at 16 she's such a great character and has been a terrific player 55 major championships in trying to win her first big one in this well there would be none bigger yeah she's put herself in contention I mean I think last year of course her epic battle with Lilia Vu Lilia really coming out in dominating fashion towards up ahead par putt for Charlie things have changed dramatically here in the last few moments Charlie drops a shot G left of where sheing 60 top most this is going to pitch us 70 isn't it yeah and just commit to that line you like it finishing just just a little r of the right crane yeah finish that white CR the perfect lie Charlie Hall from 183 wind off the right with a seven iron doesn't want to be long feeding one in from right to left here come on that's pretty [Applause] good I think Adam summed up there pretty good safe shot people in the jiggering giving Adam some stick there it's a tradition you have to do it along the east coast of Scotland and a leaderboard that's been flipped around to 17 this is Charlie Hull long range birdie putt just runs Far Enough by where it's going to be a bit of [Applause] work Charlie three over for the day had that longer birdie putt than she had hoped for 17 here's the popup for Charli you can see how far by that ran this hole playing as the hardest on the golf course today and it is going to be another bogey recorded here and this day for Charlie continues to get even more frustrating now four over at that birdie at the third that we mentioned earlier which tied her for the lead and since then the double bogey on the par five Fifth and three Bogies on the back all right Charlie Hall this is an eagle attempt down to the valley of sin so firmly up that hill wind right now especially as this final group behind makes their way to the 18th T now scores adding up for Nelly and up at the 18th Charlie Hall who was tied with Nelly at six underpar at one point is going to turn in a score of 75 today but still within Striking Distance tomorrow you're never nobody's
