💬 Andy Whing's reaction to defeat against Eastleigh

Andy unfortunately a defeat on the road despite a late push to try and grab something from the game how do you react to tonight's result uh well get the result I think the performance was nowhere near it um as poor as it's probably been even last year I think it's as poor as it's probably probably been don't think we can kid ourselves the second half just because we've scored a go a late goal we' had a huff in the puff it was still nowhere near it I thought Saturday we were nowhere near it and I said that um you know I take resp full responsibility that I know people will blame change of tactics that's fine um you know so I take full responsibility that I'm the manager I pick the team um you know to be fair I don't think I've got too much wrong um since I've been here but tonight was probably certainly one of them um but there's too many players miles off it too many players coming in who think they're better than what they are and don't want to run that's as simple as that I don't want to run um and if you know my teams in the last sort of um last you know 12 13 months you know we work hard off the ball we we run uh we run off the ball to create space when we're on the ball we work hard recover back in um we get it back into a good shape um we're miles away from that at the moment uh miles away from it um you know we just have to get the basics right forget about patterns forget about how we play tactics or anything like that um you know we just need to show up um be aggressive uh that that's the whole point we wanted to be aggressive tonight um unfortunately we're two-on down so two really poor goals that we talked about before the game what not to do and we've done it um yeah so ultimately I take full responsibility to that and we um you know we've got to be better and going down a goal early on inide like the third minute does that sort of change the game plan massively uh well we still try and do the right things um you know we we we were 2-0 down here last last year but you know I think we had a te a settled team I think we were we were growing and we were getting better week in week then you know I had no confidence in I was coming back today just because I don't think we're anywhere near where we want to be um you know the players have got the players have got a shot they've got to be better um and uh yeah really really poor performance from us tonight and lastly just a word on 85 traveling supporters on a Tuesday night 250 m round trip just the credit of the club yeah look I can only apologize to them for what they' seen really any you know we've we've you know had 50 or 60 games at this football club um and to be fair we've not had too many you know I I probably put that performance right up there with the sort of sains and the ultrams last season how poor we were um you know really really poor like like I say you know I can only apologize to them their support was fantastic um you know that's not my team they've seen my team for 50 50 or 60 games like I said uh and it looked nothing like that um you know we just have to we have to move on really quickly and we you know we go a big game on on Saturday night and you mentioned the big game on Saturday brain tree what do you want to see on the training pitch and going into that game a lot a lot more than that um blad's willing to run for a start um willing to fight they the basics right um you know even s even Saturday against may lead we were we were just okay uh we got through we got through the game but he wasn't particularly very good um obviously we got plers coming in we coming out plers fit nowhere near it um but ultimately you know I'll get a blame for for for all of that and um I have to get that team ready and going um you know for for Saturday Andy thank your time mate
