2024 NFL Schedule Prediction: Week 1

what is up everybody Welcome in to another episode of wideeye sports today we have a very special series we are starting brand new each and every week we are going to predict one week of the NFL schedule leading all the way up until the NFL regular season in 2024 and at that point we will be able to give you our full NFL season 2024 season predictions for each team's record we're going to start of course at the beginning week one we're going to start it off in just a moment so do Riley welcome in how are you guys feeling this week great I love feeling good all right you guys you guys ready to roll the credit start the show yes sir yeah all right let's roll it [Music] all righty boys and girls before we get started make sure to take just a second subscribe like leave us a comment at any point in the video do those things at any point in the video we really appreciate it we can only do this if you guys do that so with that we are going to jump right into things start with week one game one Baltimore Ravens at the defending the reigning world champion Kansas City Chiefs it is a Thursday night game 8:20 Eastern kickoff on NBC oh God I'll be so hyped we would be so back when that game kicks off oh God I can feel it in the air now uh so easy peasy Lim and squeezy we are going to do the entire 17 week or 18 week schedule and it's really simple it is a vote from the three of us or four of us or two of us whoever is on the show that week it is a vote and all ties go to the home team that is the that is the rule obviously this week there are three of us there will be no ties as there cannot be a tie with three people um other than that am I leaving out any rules guys I don't think I'm leaving out anything I think that's it it's pretty pretty cut and simple did you jump in all right let's jump in all right all lead us let's just go in the order that the video has us me Riley do me Riley do will just go right through this so what do you guys think I think that the Baltimore Ravens are going to stun the Kansas City Chiefs for a second straight year in the Thursday night home opener the Kansas City Chiefs will lose to the Baltimore Ravens in a game where Derk Henry shows the world I ain't done yet I'm here I mean just to me I mean I think everybody's kind of underrating the Baltimore connection there with Henry and Jackson in the backfield how do you guard that like you gotta put nine in the box now and Lamar's gonna te up yeah um I'm taking Baltimore Baltimore goes Baltimore goes here Riley uh I'll take Baltimore too um especially they we we saw them open the season last year against a run dominant team and lose two in the in the lines yeah that's that's what I'm saying I that's what I said for the second straight year yeah I think a dominant Run game goes a long way in week one yeah don't who who were you taking I mean I was gonna take the Chiefs just because I feel like it's safe to bet the Chiefs on really any given night you might lose four five six times out of the year yeah but it's a definitely a safe bet but uh yeah looking back on their week one I don't know man I just think the Chiefs want it I feel like the Chiefs are a team that have like their hearts are made of leather like they are football Patrick Mahomes just loves playing football that's why he's he's doing it early and he's taking the the pay cuts Travis Kelsey they're [ __ ] best friends it's hard to bet against them but it is week one I'll take the Baltimore Ravens absolutely absolutely you're wait you're taking the Baltimore Ravens oh wow I thought I thought no y'all convinced me yinc I was already locked in 21 I was already locked in 21 Kansas or Baltimore all right so and just so everybody knows all the green games Prime Time games that's all the green means are just prime time just getting the Prime Time games out there so everybody can see what they are um up next first ever game in Brazil on peacock only 8:15 Friday night um what do you guys think about this game I I would like to see the Green Bay Packers get their just team drug through the mud in Brazil and left there but do I know you probably have some similar feelings going the other way about that um I'm gonna take Philly for this as much as I hate the Packers for what they did to the Cowboys last year and what they have done you know to the Cowboys in the playoffs exclusively playoff ball it will always be [ __ ] the Eagles uh die Eagles die so I'm actually not a huge hater of the Packers I I really like Jordan love I picked them as as my my Darkhorse Super Bowl team last year yep so uh I definitely want to see the Packers uh kill the uh Eagles all right Riley the tiebreaker comes down to you scario I'm gonna go with uh Philly I think people I think that Cowboys playoff game has blinded people from the fact that they were a nine- win team last year I mean they they were a game above in a 16 Game season they were 500 team and they had a good playoff game but now people are talking about them like they're the best team in the NFC and I I don't think they're there yet I I could agree with that they are the youngest play the Packers are the youngest playoff team in NFL history so respect where credit or credit where credit is due and respect to them for pulling that off but uh at the same time if the Vikings don't lose Kirk Cousins last year there's potential that the Packers don't even make the playoffs give it up it's know I know I'm not I'm not trying to say like Vikings would have won the Super Bowl if k like I'm not trying to go that rout let's start our own bet what's the over under that that that brener is going to bring up if the Vikings had Kurt Cousins last year blah blah blah all I'm saying is that they made it in by one game and they probably don't win that game if Vikings have Kirk that offense by the end of the season we were we were the worst offense in the league at my in my opinion uh Justin Jefferson was the only thing that moved that offense he was the locomotive pulling a [ __ ] like he he is at that point essentially was like a hyper train pulling a city worth of luggage down the railroad like it was just impossible but that being said I that only is being said because Green Bay had a lot go right for them to make the playoffs I don't think they're some unbeatable team and I think Philadelphia I said this earlier in the week runs the ball better and I think having to travel to a foreign country being on the road lends itself to a team that runs better and that's why I took Philadelphia um Philly also took a lot of steps to sh up their secondary this offseason so far and I like that I like what they've done I think they will be much improved in their secondary and their defense but with that let's move on to the Sunday slate of games it will be week one Sunday I mean how hyped are we going to be I mean can you just like just imagine it now you're waking up on a Sunday morning knowing that you're about to you're about to watch football for the first time since February true football that matters shots shots at the UFL really seriously um they'll get there one day they're just not there yet so with that Pittsburgh Steelers at the Falcons uh for me this is pretty cut and dry um um okay I say that it's not it's really not I was trying to make it simple I was trying to move through these quick it's not that simple I mean if it's a quarterback if if we're talking strictly quarterbacks yeah Falcons like I would take KK cousins over I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the Falcons and here's why the Falcons will have a top 15 offense and a top 15 defense the Steelers will have a top 20 offense and a top 10 defense I'm going to take the consistency of top 15 in both and I'm going to go Falcons week one at what do you think I'm going to go Pittsburgh I think this I think I think this is the worst week one matchup that Kurt Cousins could have faced he's going up against great defense with a new team around him coming off a an ACL um yeah I think I think it is cut and dry but for Pittsburgh all right Dalton you got Fu I don't know man I uh the Falcons are going through a lot they got a new head coach um you know a lot of um coming off of the injury I don't know I think Russell Wilson's got a lot to prove I think I'm gonna go Pittsburgh on this one I can't agree with you guys any less I can't agree with you any less but I'm writing it down I'm writing it down it's in there it's in there we we have Pittsburgh two to one vote we got Pittsburgh all right next up Arizona at Buffalo and I definitely think that the bills are taking this game in a no contest it'll be pretty cut dry simple I don't think stand much of a chance what do you guys think I don't know I Allen for MVP great way to start off the season the Cardinals they didn't you obviously they were the Cardinals last year but they still like held their own and I'd like to point out they didn't lose like they lost most of their games yeah but they in some of those games they didn't lose by a lot like some of those games they could have easily have won I don't think it'll be white as a blowout but I uh I definitely the bills bills yep okay so we got bills three 0 everybody's going bills we good yeah yep all right so with that we have Tennessee at Chicago I'm taking Chicago I'm taking Chicago I'm taking Chicago [Music] three and0 all right or three 0 I shouldn't say three and0 three I like three and yeah you may be we'll find out uh next up we have New England at Cincinnati I'm taking the Bengals this is Drake ma whooping actually you know what no I'm not taking the Bengals because the last two years they have lost week one that's fair these New England Patriots I was about say they're paying playing a bottom five team uh Drake May is his wide receiver one is uh Mike is it Mike Williams didn't he go to New England I don't know I think it's about time that we dro the breaking news B mil Milton is the best quarterback in New England that's not true okay hold on both of them Joe Milton and Drake May are gonna end up being because they're playing in New England where they have to essentially prop up a franchise and be the Savior like it would be like if Drake May succeeds in New England he will go down as one of the all-time greatest quarterbacks ever one of his primary targets is g to be KJ Osborne who's been the Vikings wide receiver three since like 2019 like that's gonna be like one of his big weapons so I just I don't see a world in which Drake may can succeed that defense I'll probably be fine they'll probably be a top 15 top 10 defense but that offense is going to be bottom half of the league so all right next up Houston at Indie um I'm gonna shock you guys a little bit uh Indie and Houston played a Saturday night game this past season to decide who would make the NFL playoffs and indy barely lost that game with Garner minchuan they will have Anthony Richards in week one I'm taking Indie in a shocker Houston gets beat on the road division game you know week one week one's weird I'm taking indie no I think uh Texans are hot I I gotta go with dton here I like the Texans I think they've they've made the moves to make the gap between them bigger I don't know you're just saying that we I'm I'm going to ask you to change to change that to to Bell out Houston just for my you've spelled out every other one if just I need the consistency brener please my autism is my spread sheet sir need you to back off no I'm just kidding um that's fine um so next up we have Jaguars at Dolphins this is not a really a road game for Jacksonville right I mean couple hours up the road uh I feel like Jacksonville have plenty of fans there I'm still gonna go Miami yeah Miami but feel like this game will be closer than a lot of people think this is a potential upset I think Trevor Lawrence is a bum I think it's I think it's perfect for Miami because it's early enough in the year a lot of people don't know this but uh Hard Rock stadium is like designed for the opponent sideline to be hotter than way hotter yes and I I think jav used to the heat huge advantage early in the season yeah but I feel like Jacksonville will be used to that heat I don't know so we'll see what we'll see when they play the bills at home if they play the bills week three at home that's a huge Advantage Miami yes yeah but Jacksonville plays in Jacksonville like they're they're used to the Florida heat but I forget that Jacksonville Florida team yeah it's weird it's weird it's like the Sacramento Kings of the NFL like what what do you mean Sacramento Jacksonville as a te like it's just one of those uh next up though we got we got some fox games here uh Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints um week one is weird I've been saying it I say it every year nobody ever listens to me I'm going Carolina yeah I was actually gonna I that's funny I thought you both were going to say Saints no dud I don't I think the Saints are so overhyped that defense is good don't get me wrong wrong but that offense was abysmal Alvin Kamar is old Chris olve is great but he's a lowend one high-end two like he's not a game wrecker I I like Carolina yeah I'm going Carolina I'm you guys are talking some craziness right now did you guys just forget the Bears got Caleb William with their number one o they were the worst team in the NFL yeah I'm aware and week one is weird what what what big hold on they add Deontay Johnson they add Deontay Johnson they have Adam Thelen they add a couple weapons they had a really underrated draft this year and their defense was like the be second best secondary in the league last season like everybody forgets about that but they had one of the best secondaries in the League last year same thing that I said with the Cardinals man they lost as far as yards allowed because everyone was running the ball out on them yeah because they're in defensive interior was weak but when you tried to pass on them it didn't work it wasn't like teams were just going in and being like yeah we're just going to run the ball they would try to pass it wouldn't work and so they would be confined to the Run game and it would work it's just their offensive line was so terrible last year which they've made some moves on their offensive line was so terrible last year Bryce young was literally running around for his life I think the Panthers get a shocking Road win everybody it's like it's just one of those shocking things that happens week one I'm not saying the Panthers are going to be great I'm saying they're going to win week one all right Minnesota Vikings at New York Giants um most likely Sam darnold making his return to New York not in the Gang Green but against the New York Giants um I'm biased I'm taking Minnesota I don't got explain myself you know crazy things happen in week one uh I think I got the Giants on this one that's fine that's fine Giants have week one PTSD um I think they are going to be scared and I think Sam darnold drops he's not going to drop 40 on him but I definitely think he's going to drop like maybe like a like a 20 piece something slight I like it I like the Minnesota Vikings want to know all right the Las Vegas Raiders at the Los Angeles Chargers Jim Harbaugh taking on Antonio Pierce Harbaugh's first game back in the NFL ah man call me crazy call me crazy I am taking the Los Angeles Chargers in this week one home opener I do not think you're crazy yeah I don't I don't think that all right cool I love it let's go three three all right I don't like it I I do like the the Raiders and I would want the Raiders to win but I I don't know man they're they're real uneasy at QB yeah yeah Garner mchu is are starter and I do think Garner mchu can win them some football games but I think he can win them seven to nine not 10 to 14 so with that we're g to jump over to the Denver Broncos at the Seattle Seahawks I think this is a trouncing by the Seahawks Denver is not going to be good this season sorry Denver fans it's just what it is B Knicks if you've watched this show at all throughout the draft process you know I'm not a fan of B Knicks uh I think Shawn pyton is an egotistical liar and I think that the Broncos get spanked by the Seahawks on the field instead of in the trademark at this time youo Smith is the Seahawks quarterback right yep with uh uh the commanders uh howl how is his backup so Sam how could make could make a run at the start Pete Caroll has in the past I mean remember Russell Wilson beat out Matt Flynn for the starting job back in oh P's gone P's gone oh my God I'm so dumb I forgot that P was gone for a second oh my God this so weird the Seahawks 2010 yeah oh yeah taking the Seahawks uh Matt MC is it Matt McDaniel Matt Daniels I can't remember the Seahawks new head coach he's the he's the Ravens D coordinator from last year I think it's I think it's Matt Daniels I don't remember um give me two seconds here two seconds ladies and gentlemen home take this take this time to go hit the like And subscribe button it is Mike McDonald that's what it was Mike McDonald not Mike McDaniel um Mike McDonald I apologize to all the Seahawks fans I live in Seattle I should know that I'm a big football fan I should just know that um that was unacceptable I'm sorry uh with that though are we all going Seahawks yeah I don't know man I'm on offense I mean either way either way Seahawks are getting it but Riley what in this world possesses you to think that the Denver so two seasons ago on Monday Night Football Denver came to Seattle on as the home opener for Seattle and they had Russ and they had this amazing team that was going to make a breakthrough and they got beat by the Hawks a worse Hawks team than they currently have what makes you think the bow Knicks show is gonna walk in after they sold half their defense and win a game because I'm not high on the Seahawks either the Seahawks have a top 10 running back they have a top five Kenneth Walker Bonafide stud if you if you look up Kenneth Walker if you haven't look up on him he's a stud okay potential top five fantasy running back like highend running back you're cutting it out I can't hear you I can't hear you running backs don't matter anymore oh running back keep going keep going uh they have a top five Duo wide receiver in Jackson Smith the jiga and DK metf goo Smith has shown that he can throw the rock around and have the dude who just coached the number one defense of regular season defense of the past 10 years coaching their team so with with Devin Witherspoon L uh uh Leonard Williams they have uh what's the uh God I'm thinking Kobe Bryant they have a Kobe Bryant on their team but that's not his name I'm forgetting their uh young they have a really good young middle linebacker uh they have some good safeties they they have pieces on defense to be top 10 now they're not there yet but they have the pieces to be I think this is cut dry simple Seahawks 12th man they don't like Shawn Payton here anyways they're going to be extra hyped to boo that man and get all up in his business this is not a close game to me even for week one agreed no I think it's going to be a slug Fest you going you go going Denver I I'll go Denver just to go Denver but I I I think this game's going to be a lot closer than your thinking all right well la or not last up next up we have the Dallas Cowboys at the Cleveland Browns Tom Tom Brady's broadcast debut Brady in the booth could not hate that more hate it more what man like come on do you watch the Roose of Tom Brady that's thing was awesome yeah that was great yeah it was awesome he was hilarious they were hilarious I stop stop hating just because he's great I'm not hating because he's great I acknowledge that he's great I hate him I can still hate him yeah okay tell me this if I sat you down right now and said that a sixth round pick from this year's draft would go on to be the greatest quarterback ever you'd be because let's say the the chief no no let's say the bills right the B no even better I have an even better comparison the Bengals the Bengals with Joe burrow let's say Joe burrow gets hurt right before the playoffs and Jake Browning as a fourth round pick has to come in lead them to a Super Bowl win and then goes on to have the most Immaculate career of any NFL player ever you'd be like that's the coolest [ __ ] story ever that's [ __ ] awesome but instead you're like it's Tom Brady that's dumb that's who Tom Brady is Tom Brady is the greatest sports story of all time I agree I hate him I hate you I can still I'm going Dallas I'm going Dallas really yeah I'm going Dallas too I'm going Dallas weird happen week one 21 Dallas John Watson is not him yeah I I like the Browns I love Kevin stansky uh they won't succeed there until they move on from deshun wat I don't know man it the so the Cowboys have lost week one I think three out of the last four years yeah that's fine week one's weird I understand did get into the playoffs with [ __ ] Joe Flo yeah I agree their defense is insane it's week one weird things happen I'm only going Cowboys because of cowboys I'm going Cowboys because it's week one and weird things happen all right Washington commanders at Tampa Bay this is another weird week one game and I'm I want to go Washington I really do I have a hard time doing it though I think I got I think I go Tampa I think I go Tampa got to take the bake show yeah Jaden Daniels I I love Jaden Daniels Jaden Daniels Dan Quinn Jaden Daniels should have been the number one overall pick in the draft and he's going to prove to everybody why okay but Bears fans are going to be I rate in five years when Jaden Daniels is winning a second MVP all right Sunday Night Football LA Rams at the Detroit Lions Matt Stafford gets his revenge finally he's going to get revenge for the playoff game last year he's going to get revenge for them booing him in his return to Ford Field the greatest player in your franchise's history returns because you know he's playing there in playoff game and I get it you don't want to cheer for him I'm not asking you to cheer for him Detroit I'm asking you not to boo him okay that's it that's it I'm going Detroit or going La not Detroit I'm going La Detroit will be a 500 team that's that's silly they have an easy schedule right they're not going to be a 500 team they're going to be a 10- win team they're they're not they did not get any better their players only got more expensive and they had a easy schedule last year I don't disagree with that I don't disagree with that but I just I don't think that they are going to I don't think they'll have I think the the the offense is so Elite that it will carry them because Dan Campbell is a liability in his defense and guts play calling will end up costing them a few key games and Dan Campbell we've talked about this on the show before all throughout last season Dan Campbell could have a 20 and he'd be like hit black dealer be like sir you have a 20 you can stay I'm showing a three there's not a high hit why because that's what I do like he's just he's like he's just a Persona and he's a raah Rah guy and he gets the team hyped up and you want to run through a brick wall for him but that's what he is he's the I want to run through a wall for you not a let me lead you and Coach you to be a great football player Ben Johnson is let me lead you and Coach you to be a great football player and as long as he is there they will be a good football team now when Ben leaves Dan Campbell will be fired in two seasons no question but until then they'll be they'll be at least a 500 football team but probably a 10- win team last up we have have the New York Jets and Aaron Rogers returning to the prime time Spotlight that is Monday Night Football of week one for the second straight season playing against the San Francisco 49ers in the Bay Area against Leonard Floyd who tore his Achilles on Monday Night Football week one last season what a storyline the NFL knew exactly what they were doing when they put the Niners against the Jets week one yeah and I am Floyd got traded they were like well we know what the week one Monday Night Football game is love it I'm going Jets I'm going ners damn I was really hoping this wouldn't come down to me are are we going to say that are we are we doing this San San Francisco has Brandon iuk he is on the team and playing and yeah I mean as of right now he's still there I mean for me it boiled down to the fact that the Niners defense is so good I mean they were in the Super Bowl last season so Niners defense is amazing I'm B down to a brener week one weird things happen B Champs are or Super Bowl appearance they're they're GNA lose Aaron Rogers last time we saw Aaron Rogers he was leading a 500 Packers team quite mediocrely and so that was the last time we saw him play regular season he was mediocre on a on a bad Packers team or a mid Packers team they weren't bad they were middle of the pack but that's the last and then Jordan Love Takes that same I'll go sand frame 49ers yep I don't I got to two to one [ __ ] I won't lie I won't lie my bias is there it's heavy my bias is there your bias is there too d you're you're biased against San Francisco I'm biased against Aaron Rogers there's there's no shame in that um but the Niners defense is better and the ners offense is better than anything the Jets have shown consist week one week one hey I I'll I'll die on that Hill week one's weird sometimes okay happens I agree completely but all right these are the week one picks for the widey sports crew we're going to go all the way through all the way through to week 18 we're going to pick every single game and then right before the season starts we'll hit you live
