Argentina vs Wallabies R3 TRC 2024 G1 News, Weather, history, referee [Music] good day guys welcome back to my channel my name is wild card thank you for watching the Wild Card rugby show like comment and subscribe and yes you are here today because I think finally for the first time ever that the wallabies is considered a big underd doog against Argentina in a game of rugby and you know this is something that I could not imagine not that long go like four years ago or five years ago and you know if you were to tell me that one day Argentina is going to be an underdog against the Australian soccer team I would called you crazy but here it is for rugby in the world of Union and um yeah I dread to watch this game this weekend it is a pretty big hole the Wes are in right now and Argentina has You know despite changing the new coach getting you know Philipe C pom to take over from Michael Checker they have taken another step forward and successfully taking another step forward and beating the All Blacks uh in Wellington a few weeks ago and you know some that's something that I don't have confidence in the wab doing in the current state of the team so yeah I am stressing out for this game this weekend I hopefully Wes don't get flogged like they did a couple years ago in that second test and um yeah fingers crossed for the a much better performance by the wallabies but the good news is oh by the way this is my website you can go check it out all the player stats on this website um every every every week this will be updated for you know you can click on each player and check out the stats as well all the stats are pulled off from or rugby so it might be a couple weeks behind in terms of the test caps so it might not be 100% accurate but hey this is pretty much the best you can get on the internet anyway and yeah and also this website will not have spoilers so if you wanted to you know if you're watching a replay and you want to see oh who's playing on the field you can always come back to this website and it won't be any spoilers that you know that's going to ruin your day you can just always look at it and check out who's in who's out and what the player stats are so take a look at that if you want the links will be in the description but yeah with that being said a little promotion out of the side uh the game this weekend few changes for both teams wallabies has cting another Captain Harry Wilson has been named the 90th test cap test captain for the wallabies and yeah it's good to see that you know Arthur Wilson has always been someone that you know had the potential to be a wbe captain and it's good to see that he finally going to get a shot at that um at that position there's also some changes in the backline he Stewart has been caught into the injured Hami and uh yeah it's uh it's going to be tough game for the wab especially not able to get any more consistency I'm actually a big fan of H Stewart coming at number 12 position and I just think that is he plays 13 in the Reds so I just think that he's got that size that the wab kind of needed a bit more in that backline uh I mean especially when they play against the spring box you can literally see you look like a bunch of kids out there playing against men for the Wes just the size is just not there and having H Stewart there adds a little bit of that beef that we are looking for for the wab Beast and for the Argentinian now probably the biggest change is that prop ELR Bell has left the squad due to personal sorry sodon has left the squad due to personal reasons so that there was a bit of a shuffle at the bench Joe scaly has been moved to the starting position the T side and EDR Bellow has been U put into the substitute for the argentinians there's a bit of a shuffling around overall in the squad we'll have a look at that in a minute and um yeah like I said history Australia had pretty been pretty dominant over Argentina and recently it's just been yeah not that great two draws in in Australia and there was two back-to-back wins for Argentina and you know last last year with Eddie Jones yeah really should not have lost that in Sydney and um that was quite quite embarrassing to be honest and this week away in Argentina this is going to be even bigger task so if Joe Schmidt can and I think the the team that playing this week is a much better team than argentinians side that played the wallabies last year to be really Frank with you and yeah you know mean this is going to be a tough order for Joe Schmidt and I can only hope that he's done a lot of work behind the scenes the last couple weeks and pull this together this is also a bit of a you know this's also a bit of a issue with the weather on the weekend as well it's going to be at La Plata and it will be uh it will be a Bonos areas Province it will be raining on the weekend on Saturday so this could play into both teams I don't think either team played that well in the rain especially the Wes uh in the second round so Wes was struggling a lot against uh in the R against against the spring box whereas Argentina and the or also playing the r on the same day they did lose to the All Blacks but the argentinians did not struggle nearly as much with the wet conditions so this could actually favor Argentina a little bit as well uh the little bit of rain out there on the field uh the referee will be James stowman this will be a little bit of advantage for the Wes because a lot of the players uh you know play with it you know play with him on the field in Super Rugby so they will be used to the sort of stuff that he's looking for uh in those especially in those clinical areas like the breakdown and um yeah and and then you know that's that's and also with the Law changes with r 20 minute red cards and you know some of the changes interpretations line now not straight and all that is definitely going to benefit wall a little bit as well with James dolman on the field but dolman has had some pretty shocking calls in the past he has uh much better now recently has improved a lot from a few years ago but hey this still could be you know one or two Shockers and that could change the game this weekend it's always a risk with James dolman now let's have a look at the lineup now and yeah so the coming in the front rows now for Argentina Thomas Gario someone who's incredibly good at ball carrying but his weakness is the scrummaging with 10 tupo tupo time I'm looking forward for some dominance for the wbees in this game especially in the we conditions uh with that scrum dominance backing up you know if you have any drop boards can clean that up for you it's a really really big Advantage so yeah 10 T back and that is massive massive for the wab and also Angus Bell will be coming out number one position for the wab on that Loose Hair Argentina vs Wallabies R3 TRC 2024 G1 2024 Forwards side Julian Monta the captain coming to number two and Joe scaly like we said moving up from the bench in the number three jersey I think that the scrummaging will be an area the wallabies should try to exploit because both of their props are better especially tupo against Garo that's going to be a very very big battle to look for and I hope that tupo uh gets the upper hand and splits Garo in the middle of the scrum from his hooker so coming in the locks now Franco Molina has been moved up from the bench to the number four jersey Pedro rubiolo comes in at number five for Argentina Nick frosz number four four jersey for the Wes luk come salaka loto gets at number five for the wallabies uh salak loto has been pretty good recently for the wallabies Nick Frost has always been consistent so this is a pretty pretty decent combination for the wab in that regards coming in at the loose forer Pablo Matas will be at number six in the Blindside flanker position and Marcos kma has moved from Lock to number seven so Argentina I'm pretty sure seven is a blind side flanker there so sorry yeah Pablo mat is actually the open side with number six Kema is The Blind Side and the third lineup option for Argentina and number eight one Martin Gonzalez finishing off the full four pack for the Wes now Rob vantini comes number six and he will be The Blind Side flanker Carlos Tano retains at number seven jersey the Loose Cannon the the loose screw guy what they call it and number eight Harry Wilson will be bringing a bit more size to the pack in that number eight spot and physicality at the breakdown will be a big big big key area for the WABE so we've got nick uh lukum and Harry Wilson bringing out a little bit of beef in those tied areas that we are looking for in the back line now Gonzalo bero comes in number n for Argentina vs Wallabies R3 TRC 2024 2024 Backline Argentina Jak Gordon RS the N Jersey for for the Wes Santiago Carreras has been really in great form so far this season he has dramatically improved again this his some was been improving again and again and again every season he was put a 10 Jersey a number of years ago due to injuries to um to Sanchez and you know and then he's just kind of like really transitioned from the fullback position to 10 and he's just yeah just been getting better and better and better especially under Michael Checker he really drastically improved and he still improving uh so far under you know Filipe kapom as well so really impressive especially with that kicking game adds a lot of threat off the boot from him as well noo someone arur yeah just lacked a bit of physicality lack a bit of initiative I'm actually surprised that he selected ahead of ler and yeah Donson didn't perform unfortunately for the WABE so far despite his great season in super R so no gets the 10 KN once again I just don't think his defense is good enough I just just lack a bit of physicality and he look a little bit lost uh only good thing about about Noah is his goal kicking really really good goal kicker but um yeah have to work on that a little bit and anyway coming in number 11 now martio Carreras uh he was one of the guys that instrumentally beating the all black in in Wellington number 11 Mora KB for the Wes returning from overseas this will be this be second appearance and yeah really looking forward for him to bring a bit more physicality than he did last game against the spring box coming up with to Santiago chocob Barz for the Argentina Lucio cinti both centers were exceptionally good against the All Blacks especially chob Barz had a lot of experience in France in the uh with with too playing with Anton dupon so yeah it be uh yeah that he might be the he might be the difference in the backline in terms of breaking up those uh you know those tight you know tight areas for the argentinians he Stewart coming number 12 and Len down number 13 these two guys has not played together before hem Stewart um he like I said he does bring the size that we kind of look for for a uh for the backline little bit bigger than Hond pami but yeah uh you will have to see he definitely do not have the the playmaker ability from Honda pami but then again H hasami didn't really show much playmaking against the spring box so yeah I mean probably yeah we'll have to see how this is going to go for them and really his key role is to try to create some space and create some opportunities for Len ikik who has been a little bit underuse in my opinion against the spring box coming number 14 Santiago CH Cordo for Argentina I think he's just added into the squad at number 14 and Andrew Callaway coming in number 14 retains number 14 jersey number 151 Cruz Malia once again for Argentina extremely good under the high ball pretty good boot as well so someone that's bit of a yeah someone that's been really really good for AR number 15 Jersey Tom R comes in for the wab Beast number 15 uh against the spring box he really again looked really lost the entire wall backline looked kind of lost and I was expecting a bit more of a Counterattack from him against the spring box I just did not really show obviously the spring box has one of the best pressure defense in the world maybe that's something that you know limited this opportuni there but you know hopefully that he'll do a bit more of that this week against the argentinians Argentina vs Wallabies R3 TRC 2024 Reserves now the finishes the big big men coming off the bench to try to finish the game uh Augustin cravy greevy uh the one that you know delivered the death blow to the war blacks at Willington will be coming off the bench at 39 years of age what a brutal brutal monster he will be number 17 May Mako Vivas for Argentina added into the squad Ardo Bell gets caught in as well at number 18 number 16 for the wbe Josh NASA much younger performer then Augustine cevy Isaac Kaa coming up at 17 and finally Alan aloa gets the number 18 jersey will be coming off the bench for the wallabies and in in the final final uh in the final two four reserves Guido Petty for the Argentina for a lock Thomas lavanini another lock on the bench number 22 for the wallabies Jeremy Williams at number 19 and langy gleon number 20 had wallabies that opted for two loose forwards whereas the argentinians has opted for two locks by the looks of it pretty sure p is a lock uh yeah lock so yeah that is interesting that there will be more size and a bit more of a methodical slower style from the argentinians uh in the second half maybe they're expecting like a stale drawn out War of Attrition in the second half but um yeah Santiago um gona will be coming in at number 21 I think he's also a lock wait what oh he's a back row so so so Argentina has opted for six forwards on the bench uh with Gana as an additional um I guess loose forward on the bench wallabies sticking to the traditional 53 T mcder coming number 21 as a halfback number 22 patrano Baza vales will be the halfback for Argentina Ben Donaldson on the bench ahead off uh ler and finally at number 23 Thomas Al Albertos uh I thought he was a little a bit shaky against the All Blacks coming off the bench but he did put through and will be once again filling in Off the Bench for the Argentina and Max jensson gets the nod once again against uh this weekend on that number 23 jersey for the wallabies only 20 years of age young so yeah let me know your thoughts guys I Argentina vs Wallabies R3 TRC 2024 Predictions think this will be a very difficult game for the wallabies the the rain is not going to play in the favor of the Wes the exra forward on the bench shows that Argentina wants to play a much tighter and physical game in the rain and um yeah that is the weakness of the W is just not physical enough and when you get beaten physically you your game plan tends to fall out of the window and um yeah and injuries yeah uh we we'll have to see but I hopefully you know the good thing about that wab is if I was to be a little bit positive is that they were on a pretty big low against the spring box so this only way for them to go is kind of up so we'll be expecting a better performance for them this
