Lion Vision Update: UNA Football - 8-3-2024

uh it was competitive I think the guys were excited to be out here under the lights in broy stadium um it was fun to get you know watch some guys compete U had a little bit of a scrimmage and so uh it was good see the see the full pads on no it was a level 10 for sure today you know we we like starting off the practice with a little bit of banga just uh get us going get the emotions high and uh they were high today for sure yes sir there was a lot of physicality uh I thought both sides of the ball worked really hard and really got after it and that's a good sign you know being most physical fall camp that I've been a part of so far since I've been here you know just you know always have your eye on that quarterback you know quarterback battle um but we've got some transfers that we feel like really are going to come in and help us feel like we're faster as an offensive unit um we've got some depth some quality depth and so um we're excited to see us progress yeah yeah my biggest part of my game is blocking you know the pads get popping and they really challenge us to get some movement whenever we get the pads on you can't really do that without pads so the defense kind of gets an advantage on us when we don't have pads but today I think it evened out pretty well I'll say this you know so you know return Whit Mitch left tackle um some guys that have played uh then you know it's a position we felt like we you know we brought some quality depth in and so some guys that have played a lot of football um some guys that are another year in the program bigger stronger faster and uh have been in our system and so um they're playing like it right now and they're fun to watch you know we brought in Tanaka Scott from as a transfer and um of course we got darar kenw back and um you know just been uh some great uh competition there I think we got some good receivers outside some big lengthy guys and quarterbacks are all battling it out which is fun you know you get to uh mix in with different guys and get a feel with each quarterback which is also also feels pretty good I think this group's more together I think everybody is just like a family pretty much and in the past we haven't had that and I think it'll be a big difference in the long term just their determination the way they show up every day and they work and they compete um makes me really proud as a as as a coach I feel like they they're on a mission right now and excited to see where we go
