are set for a showdown on The Wire Grass there's just something about the night cap after a day of wall toall football it just seems this is when chaos ensues as we'll see a squad from the Mountain West the Nevada Wolf Pack taking on a team from the Sun Belt the Troy Trojans for EA Sports college football I'm ree Davis David poock and Jesse Palmer with me guys it's time to get it going Nevada about to kick it off to get this game started he'll start the return inside as five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 the Trojans offense will get the first swing of the game here he comes and obviously defense is always going to be aware of a quarterback but boy he finds a way to put defenses on their heels all the time David I mean what can't he do he's got the weapons he's got the confidence he's got The Experience Jesse these kind of guys are so hard to defend you're right they better be able to find a way to get pressure on him because if they don't this is going to be a long day halfway there on first down it's second and five back to pass it's Crowder coming after him and the pressure was too much they get him at the 15 one of the reasons I love this linebacker man he can rush the passer he does a great job timing his Blitz and with that speed he's able to get home quickly not exactly the ideal situation for this offense third and long backed up inside their 20 from the gun wants to pass nice defensive play to get a hand in there and knock it away well they try to throw for it there on third down on the opening drive of the game they don't get it but let's punt the ball away let's trust our defense and guys let's also trust this home field advantage and the crowd to get loud and make it real difficult on our opponent fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way on the move it's Robinson they were playing with fire on that return and he got loose for a good return of better than 30 yard so Nevada's offense has the ball for the first time as we take a look at our impact players for this one what are you looking for Jesse for a guy to make an impact well these are simply put the leaders of this football team and generally games go how these guys play if they make plays they've got a shot to win this one no doubt they got to show up the these are the team leaders these guys have to play well if they're going to win the football game you know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up after picking up a couple it's second and eight off play action throws to the wide out how about that play to get a hand in there and force the incompletion good job on defense getting a hand on it tipping it up in the air they weren't able to pick it off but they do Force the incompletion they've moved it to the 25 but now facing a third and long Lewis wants to pass they're trying to get to it another incompletion on third down nice job by the defense they're mixing up their look they're third and long in field goal range they go Zone coverage so everybody on the back end has the eye on the quarterback and they're able to break on the ball Force the incompletion and now on fourth down they'll try a field goal and he'll need a little distance and accuracy a 42 y from the left hash never out and the first points of the day come on that field goal I'll tell you this is not an easy place to play on the road especially at night time this crowd they get loud that's the way it's been so far but they have a nice drive to open it up they're able to execute they put themselves in field goal range not it through the uprights they did exactly what they needed to do taking a three nothing lead here early on the road that's impressive so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away and he takes this from inside the five and the Return Man is stopped and that'll leave it up to the offense on the next Drive opening play of this drive comes from the 12 yd line hand off from the shot shot gun picks his way ahead he'll get five out to the 17 yd line I like this guy as a running back because he could run between the tackles and he can also go outside he can really do it all halfway there on first down it's second and five now the play fake throws to the tight end incom complete he threw that one up for grabon into traffic and fortunate to get it back yeah nice coverage and you'd like to snag that interception but there's always a reason why these Thoroughbred athletes play defense and it's usually because of their lack of hands like you just saw third and short they've got them back up inside the 20 and the D can get the ball back here it'll be a first down as he gets it to the 24 yd line and they just kind of sneak that in there as a defensive guy third and five plus I'm thinking pass they were thinking pass Palmer and they slipped the run in and it's so nice then to have this guy at running back two right because you could throw it to him on third down or hand it off and he's got the vision and the athleticism to go pick up that first keep the drive going he'll pull it on the read PS through the defense now after that run they're in pretty good shape at the 30 yd line how easy was that I I mean when you got a quarterback that can run designed runs like this and and get you five plus yards just and make it look that easy God it makes it really hard for the defenses to stop they ran it on first down now on second they'll give it to the back and they'll bring him down but not before he picks up the first down all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their rund de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they find finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on a defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this if they're going to be successful on offense it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it halfway there on first down second and five the give to the tail back nice solid form tackle from this sophomore I like feeding my guy I like getting my running back touches feeding the ball so he can break some of those big runs but I'm also okay with these little ones set the tone stay balanced third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here they'll try to pick it up on the ground he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense is about seeing it and pulling the trigger and you could tell they pull the trigger so fast get to the back get him on the ground quickly the Trojans will send out the punt unit this will be the second time they've had to kick it away he'll be brought down but there is a flag on the field let's see what that one's [Applause] about so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty and the Trojans are rolling down the field Taylor has it and they'll bring him down after a short pick up Run game is good balance is good now listen if the Run game isn't good then you got to pass the football a little bit more but sometimes you got to keep them honest take them chunk by chunk didn't get much on first down it's second and nine quick hand off and a decent gain there before the defense makes the stop I think that was an example of the offensive coordinator trying to help out his quarterback he's trying to keep these third Downs manageable you know you throw the ball second down and it's incomplete now you've set up third and long and now you're set up to fail after the strong run on second down third down coming do they do it again dropping back it's Crowder they'll run the screen and he'll make his way out of bounds after the solid pickup looks as if we have an injury on that last play and we'll take a break to check him out a 51 yd field goal is not really really unreasonable in terms of range but they'll try to convert on fourth down they'll try to pick up the first at the 20 he's got space big big gain on that one as he Steeps out of bounds with a first down from that spot on the field you're going to go for fourth and inches every time but I mean you could argue that fourth and inches you ought to go for it almost all of the time I 100% agree we're definitely going for this and listen let's play some offense let's let's have high OCT say let's put some points on the board we're not kicking field goals we're not punting we're trying to score touchdowns turning to the running game on first and goal they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one so on offense you've got to find a way to put six up on the board you know that in this game field goals may not get it done so big time players make big plays in big games who can you rely on right now to get you a touchdown can the D deny them on second and goal trying to punch it in into to the end zone he goes touchdown Trojan this running back was not going to be denied nice blocking up front to create a hole for this running back and he was able to take advantage [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point makes it seven to three that is what they mean when they say ball control a 14-play touchdown drive and they capped it off with a one yd punch about to kick it off after punching it in for the [Applause] touchdown he'll bring it back from inside to SP he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field they'll run the RPO and Fire to the right and the defense coming with bad intentions they knock him down for a loss man what a great play by that cornerback there's so much out here and football the way they spread you out but to be able to break on the football when it's throwing on those quick passes like that nice job by the quarterback from the gun the ground game they stop him after a sixy run out through the 24 I I like it just frustrate the defense get that five to six yards make them honor the Run make them know that you're willing to run the football and run it effectively now on third down for this offense Lewis to throw now they'll really try to get this drive going good execution on third down as they have it first and 10 at the 31 love the way he didn't just run to a spot he found the cushion in the zone and got himself open for the first down yeah and you're taught to find that space you know don't run right into a Zone Defender who's sitting there looking at the quarterback and looking at you so much creativity with routes now and of being able to just have subtle moves One Way come back the other way nice job by the tight end finding that hole in the Zone on the run and he'll slide to avoid the big hit well you're making a positive out of a negative and that time quarterback nice job buying time he's trying to throw the football downfield nothing there so instead of throwing it away and getting the incomplete just get what you can get and make this next down more manageable now on second down he's looking to throw find his tight end and he'll be marked down but he's got enough to move the chains well they pick up the first against Zone coverage I think a big part of this for young quarterbacks out there is if you're going to be throwing into Zone coverage you got to throw on time you can't stare down receivers because the entire defense has their eyes on you so you can't Telegraph where the ball's going you've got to hold it to the very last possible second try to freeze Defenders with your eyes and then throw the ball into open areas of the field anticipating where your gu's going to be I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points sixy pickup on first down leaves him with second and Four Leaves it with the running back just a solid stop by this sophomore well man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack they've been able to control the ball this is the seventh play of the drive it's third and three Lewis wants to pass quickly out to the tight end he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down third down understanding exactly where the sticks are you you got to stop certain routes so they don't get to certain depths quarterback completes them gets another first down got to be a little bit more mindful of where those sticks are Wolfpack will have first and [Applause] 10 from the gun the G looking for room found a little running room and they get him stopped after a pick up of six to the 32 well it's plays like that that will help this offense stay in Rhythm all game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football just opens up your entire Playbook moving forward got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four he's looking to throw fires to the big fella he's run out of bounds but he's got enough to move the sticks these routes have some reads and adaptability built in and the big fella found that cushion and made the play man it's so awesome how much offenses have evolved they know exactly what they're getting where sit down quarterback tight end on the same page gets the first down out of the shotgun they go to the ground he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three man what a spectacular play by that defensive end to come up with the tackle there and you see those guys get off the football so fast most of these guys are 250 to 275 lbs but they get off the ball fast low and the and they have no chance to stop those guys as and the ball comes out what a disastrous play defense just cradling that fumble and securing it and the defense able to get pressure to the quarterback and they've got everybody trying to swipe at the football the impact on the hit sometimes jars the ball loose great job with the pass rush and a better job forcing a [Music] turnover now now the Trojan offense returns to the field that running game was impressive taking them right down for a touchdown last time David yeah just Molly no secret play calls just simply we are more physical than you and we're pounding the football right at you PA so if you're on offense this next Drive take a look at their safeties and see if they're creeping up into the box because of your success running the football this might be time to take a shot down the field in play action they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three running to the left the Trojans will have a first down all right nothing flashy there he just did what it took to get the first down it'll be a first down from the 49 yd line give to the single back he's dropped by behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three you can't let the same guy beat you over and over and over again you got to make adjustments sometimes you got to bring more guys in the Box more guys to the football and make sure he's not the one who beat you last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 looking for a man it's Crowder he's got his man put it right on him sweet play good pickup and they'll move the change with the first down when you play zone coverage everybody drops back everybody has eyes on the quarterbacks you're not really looking at the wide receivers a lot of times so they can slip in those little cracks and the quarterback can really make precise throws great job great play great throw great game the inside hand off and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting them drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage good spot after that seveny pickup on first down it's second and three he's looking to throw lets it fly all kinds of room to throw that one in there and the catch and run into the end zone touchdown Troy how about the Renaissance the tight ends in line flexed out split out they can do a little bit of everything they really can and they're asked to block a lot of the times too but I tell you what all the wide receivers out wide the fancy toys the fancy spread don't forget about that tight end he does a little bit of everything and then you reward the big fell throw the ball and he catches so he really can do a little bit of everything in an offense lining up to tack one more onto that lead the kick is up and good and put one more on the lead so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they finish it up with the final 30 yards coming courtesy of that touchdown pass the kickoff team on the field as they'll send this one away on the move from inside is five really displine job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field looking for a physical attack from the gun he'll be stopped just short of the 20 at the 19 give him one all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point didn't get much on first down it's second and nine [Applause] trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here not much there picks up a couple to the 22 third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off it's a draw and he's brought to the ground but not before he gets enough for the first down and that is exactly why you stick to running the football haven't had a lot of success but boom you pop one right that's what you got to do you got you cannot become onedimensional and just throw the football every down love the offense sticking to the Run nice job getting the first down trying to find his man on first down takes the easy one to the back and the defense holds firm no pickup at all on that play We reached the end of the quarter and Troy is on top they wanted to strike first and strike hard and they've been able to do that here in the first quarter as we take a look at the stats now the challenge here they've taken a punch but they can't let it get out of hand as we start the [Applause] second one back in the back field he gets the carry knocked down at the 44 but he got 15 on that one this running back loves running into the teeth of the defense in between the tackles he keeps a low pad level and he's got some speed this Nevada offense really has it going might as well give it to him again a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior and the defense doing a great job committing to the run when you commit to the run like this obviously you can give up some plays in the passing game but you got to stop the run first picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down Lewis to throw finds his big tight end really putting together a threat now they get the first it's at the 37 and a really good job by the quarterback being very decisive he saw his matchup he went for it he attacked it got the positive gain I would say he's going to find that guy a few more times today finally this offense starting to show a little juice they've got a first and 10 he's going to pass the short hands it's Smith ripping off a good chunk inside the 25 and they're set up with a first down and that's why it's so important to get it to your guys quickly that's just a simple hitch route but because the quarterback didn't hesitate he put it on him right away he had space to work after he made the catch was able to make a Defender Miss and set up a nice play for the offense he's looking to throw it slings it he got it and he won't be able to push his way in he stopped at the one nice job by the running back catching the football and understanding where the first down marker was I got to go get that first down did a nice job of him Nevada comes to the line on first and goal wants to go up top going for six and he's got it touchdown wolf pack and how about this play by the offense first and goal from the one yd line everything says it's going to be a run it's going to be a run nice job by the offense a little slight of hand throwing the football getting the touchdown they'll try to attack one more on their score and the Pat will draw them one point closer they put together an 81 yd drive and it was capped off by a Oney touchdown pass kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to [Applause] go here he comes from inside his own five really disciplin job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 so guys we'll have another look at this Troy offense right down the middle got his man downfield they'll get it to the 48 no need to measure it a first down a big gain there as they did a tremendous job working the middle of the field yeah and if you're going to complete that throw read quarterbacks got to play with anticipation you've got to get it out of your hands early and give your receiver an opportunity before the defense gets to the ball and the Trojans headed quickly to the line he'll keep it himself they knock him down right there I don't think the quarterback made the right read on that play I know they're asking a lot of this QB he's got a lot to focus on with the past game and all the different types of runs that they have in their playbook but on that play there that pre-nap look told me to hand it off and here comes the offense on second down they're trying to slow that Rush down with the draw good pick up there they'll move the chains in their set up at the 41 another good run man he has been picking up yards in bunches today Jesse showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game goes on he is a beast the Trojans will line it up on first and 10 to the ground he's got it again and he'll pick up one it brings up second and nine and those physical runs take a toll it might not be a big game now but down the road third fourth quarter late in the ball games they tend to turn into bigger runs didn't get much on first down it's second and nine from the the shotgun the inside k and a really nice run and pick up there before the defense avoided disaster and sto the really big play and with that run he goes over a 100 yards we knew coming into this game tonight they wanted to force feed him the football they knew to win the game they were going to have to establish the running game and be the more physical team in the trenches you turn around and give this guy the ball good things generally happen and we've seen that over the course of this game they make the tackle after he gets two down to the 25 the big defensive tackles in the middle they're not always the best pass rushers but they are strong and I say Country Strong they put their hands on you you feel it they lock people out on the line of scrimmage they create separation they wrap running backs up and usually they don't get out of the midst of those big boys one step wrap twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground yeah and it's a nice job by this defense understanding listen that QB is a threat and they're going to run all kinds of options and he's going to run the football they were dialed in and got that sucker to the ground they've got a ways to go on third down from the 24 as this defense tries to force him into a field goal try back to throw it's Crowder using the back as a receiver on the screen and he couldn't quite get to the marker and that's going to bring up a fourth down yeah and I think if I'm a QB I like the decision I get it to my my running back who's really good after the catch really good with the ball in his hands but the defense did the job they got him on the ground they gave up some yards but they forced the fourth down they'll try to put three on the board as the field goal unit comes on and this one splits the upright so the kickoff team is out there ready to boot it away after putting up a field goal let's see what the defense can do and here's the return didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field and David how they would love to stick it in the end zone one more time after that last drive and once you get the defense on their heels and you back them off a little bit you get in a little bit of Rhythm it's really hard to stop Jesse and they're going to try to do it again right here and if you're this play caller you're loving what's happening right now because everything you dialed up on that last Drive ended up working out you're just looking at your play sheet everything you're picking is working let's see if they can p off again [Applause] here try to get the edge with a quick touch pass the defense wouldn't let him lose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage I like offenses being creative I'm not sure if that was the best place to call that play I think this offense needs to think about just doing things a little bit more by the book they've got a lot of good Playmakers you don't have to reinvent the wheel this early in the game offense breaks the Huddle it's third down unloads to the wide out got him down field and they'll spot it at the 45 that's good enough for a first down well look that wasn't a touchdown but that was a massive play for this offense they needed some momentum they needed to find a rhythm in what better way than converting on third down awesome job by the quarterback getting to his progression now a first down from the 45 yd line they'll ride the running back in and leave it with him he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 the playaction fake dances away from the heat trying to make magic with his feet they get him down after the scramble but he's able to pick up a few and turn it into a positive play well great job there by the defense because they weren't able to get him sacked right away but you saw the coverage in the back end nowhere for the quarterback to throw the football didn't get the sack obviously you don't get the negative play but you also don't give up a big one you're feeling pretty good about where you are right now in this drive they go to the draw strong running there going to pick up seven yards on the play but they still have a fourth and three Wolfpack will line up to punt it away first punt of the day and he'd love to lock him up close to their goal line going to make sure he doesn't get a return on this one as the punt bounces out of bounds guys the Troy offense returns to the field they've got the lead here last time they settled for a field goal go but David got to find that balance between being aggressive and careful and I think they'll take that I got the lead Palmer I got the football I got to take care of the football put a nice drive together and just get some kind of points on this drive no doubt lots to be happy about right now if you're this team I think for this one though on this drive it's about finding the one-on-one matchups that are in your favor and then exploiting them dropping back it's Crowder he's got it he's close to the first down but they're going to Mark him just a little short I want to get my running backs the ball in space as much as possible and sometimes it doesn't work in the running game but I can throw it to him I can try to create some space out wide dump him the football let him make some catches and see if I can't get some big plays out of it on Third and short they'll try to pick it up on the ground here this offense has a little room and a fresh set of downs at the 23 that is how it's done on third down and short no doubt about it an easy hole to get through and clearly get the first down if you really want to simplify football the low man wins that time the offense got the better of the D easily pick that up they're getting this guy lathered up into a mass of giant bodies we'll call it a one yd gain to the 24 yeah and the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be cons assistant make that defense physically meet the challenge didn't get much on first down it's second and nine quarterback on the keeper that one could really put this drive into high gear as they have a first down at the 37 and you have to do a good job of reading it's it's the read option right you got to stick the ball in the belly of the running back and now I'm going to make that def make a decision do you want to take the running back or do you want to take me cause a little bit of hesitation great job and then you see his speed his athletic ability can do the rest they'll run it he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple well this guy's been eating them alive all game long finally though David you wonder if the defense has been able to make some adjustments find something positive to help slow this guy down hey baby steps right that's a tackle for a loss I know he's got over a hundo on the game but this def is definitely going to have to be more aggressive commit more guys to stopping that bad man they've got him looking run now they're going to throw it and it just squirted through his hands he wanted to take off and got too anxious well man I mean you don't get more wide open than that right big fella running down the field nobody near him quarterback puts it on him just got to make the catch seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third down dropping back it's Crowder they'll throw it to the back on the screen and they'll shove him out of bounds after the short gain you got to love that on defense one of the most critical statistics out there is how do you play on third down how do you prevent the opponent from keeping drives alive right there tackling the catch you gave up the completion whoop-de-doo you set up fourth and long you're going to get the ball back go get some water and celebrate and the Trojans will call on their punt team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and the returner goes down Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field that last Drive won't go on the Highlight Reel after ending in a punt they'd like to be more productive this time David and I think this offense has to be a little bit more balanced find a little balance between the Run Jesse and working in that pass and I think too David it's just going to take a spark it just takes one play to get this thing picked up and after picking up a couple it's second and [Applause] eight motion trying to get the defense to show his hand looking to the big tight end makes the grab and he gets it up to the 36 it'll be a first down I like this tight end he does a really nice job on his route running he's been beating man coverage he can find the sof SP in zones you got to get him involved Nevada going quickly from the gun they'll try the middle you want to make sure to maximize those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense 6yd pickup on first down leaves him with second and four Lewis wants to pass takes the easy throw in the flat makes the catch and knock down we reached the two-minute warning and we have ourselves a ball game and they have a chance to take the lead here before the half third third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here looking to throw for it got the Quick Pass he steps out of bounds but it will be enough for a first down nice job there by the receiver on the out route not telegraphing where he's going you can't be peing to the outside giving the defender an opportunity to break on the ball he kept his eyes right down the field DB had no idea where he was going and that helped make that completion a whole lot easier he'll come out throwing on first down finds his man down the middle carrying the ball with Attitude down to the 42 and those slot receivers nowadays they're little water bugs man you could play Touch football and an elevator to lose to these guys because they're so quick and so Dynamic get open and catch the football the hurry up now second down clock ticking [Applause] the aerial assault continues a shot toward the end zone and it's caught touchdown Nevada yeah and the passing game comes through man and we need more of that in the second half an extra point away from tying this football game you trailed a little bit in the first half stayed calm if this passing game can continue to heat up look out in the second half he'll try to tack on one more and it's up and good all tied up and just about set to kick it [Applause] away on the run from inside of zone five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 now the Trojan offense returns to the field to the air on first down snares it outside it's Conor and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one well this tight end he's got size and he's got some athleticism and he's very difficult to cover one-onone defense is going to have their hands full with him today that completion leaves us with second and medium wants to throw it's Crowder get it out on the screen the defense was on to something there they were sensing screen might be coming up D line did a great job staying home getting close to the running back and tackling him for no game probably the toughest call on the play sheet third and long Ball's at the 25 from the gun wants to pass can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard-nosed pass defense and now it's fourth down this is a point where you just got to be able to focus and the critical down in distances in this game like that third down right there when it's a good throw you got to make the catch you've got to be able to make that play the Trojans will try to pin them back with the punt he'll try to really get into this one on the return it's Robinson the coverage team was down there to Corral him they made the Stop and they'll mark it at the 39 Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field incompleted man he lucky to get that one back defense that close to an interception oh that hit him in a bad spot right in the hands great play you still get a pass break up but man that could have been an interception by the defender there nice break on the football but secure that big fell and get the six get the pick six wants to throw on second down just a short pass to the tight end the offense will have to use its first time out of the half a nice job by the defense there tackling the catch and smothering the tight end they know this offense is going to try to find him in the passing game in a lot of different situations that time perfect coverage and nice job bringing the big guy down not easy to do and they finally haul him down but not before the good catch and run Wolfpack with a first and 10 here he wants to throw fires to the wide out makes a Connect action finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down and after that pitch and catch he's already over 200 yards and we're in the first half Jesse man ree he's dialed in right now he's really doing a nice job seeing the field reading coverages and finding his open guy Lewis to throw makes his connection didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few yeah great job creating space that's what you're supposed to do when you get man coverage you got to find a way to get a step make it easy for your quarterback to read that leverage and when he drags across the field he could see had him he completes it for the first down clock's running and they'll try to get to the line warped speed for second down he's looking to throw catch in the middle it's Howell they'll use a timeout right before halftime maybe time for one or two more plays just a few seconds remaining here here as they try to put something up before halftime he's looking to pass the pass is incomplete and the clock will stop with 5 seconds left and here on second down they'll send out the field goal unit to try to get three before the break it's good and with that field goal they now have the lead after putting three on the board the kickoff unit ready to [Applause] go from inside his own 15 looking for a crevice he make the stop on the return and that is Priority One you don't want some big return to give up a cheap touchdown on the final play of the half that's the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin in our halftime update guys you've been calling a lively one so far in Troy today and there is no better place to start this halftime than by reviewing how this wide out has been a Onan Wrecking Crew the kid's been everywhere and I love how he's willing to go across the middle but that he also has the Jets to burn these DBS on the Deep ball if this defense wants to actually come come back in this one they better hide his cleats and with that let's head back to our team inside Veterans Memorial stadium and he passes on the Touchback here he comes not nearly as much as he had hoped when he brought it out of the end zone he'll be stopped at the 15 Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field they'll open the second half on the ground open space at the 25 that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the stop well there's the offense trying to take advantage of this running back speed I like the call hand off to the left to the outside put him in space and let him go to work Nevada going quickly might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again you want to make sure to Maxim those types of runs and he gets it out to the 41 coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that got six on first down now a lot of options on second and four hands it off tackle is made after the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark the offense will put it in play from the 47 on First and 10 from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back and they try to run inside and there is nowhere to go maybe that stop shows this defense is tightening up especially in the Run game the offense frankly they've been able to do whatever they want to do they just handed the ball off this guy's having success left and right no sir no Moss get it together they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 Lewis wants to pass they're setting up the screen and he was fortunate not to lose yardage on that play able to wedge it back to the line of scrimmage yeah nice job by the defense that's what you're supposed to do as soon as they catch the football you want to limit that yards after the catch and he went nowhere after the catch nice job by the D they line up with some serious work to do if they want to convert this one on Third and long he's going to have to throw for it can't make the play on the interception and man they were looking for their first pick of the game instead it'll be fourth down that is a good omen for this defense they were getting lit up in the first half they knew something had to change so to set the tone like this early on their opening drive of the third quarter and get a stop up on third that should really help their confidence a fairly short distance here toward the sidelines not his best work so guys we'll have another look at this Troy offense the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs let's get some positive momentum didn't get much on first down it's second and nine out of the gun to give to the back a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior a chance to sort of put the defense on its heels if you convert a third and long this one from the 44 from the gun wants to pass getting some heat and they got him for the sack nice coverage on the back end great job nothing open right away the QB holds the ball in the pocket and the pass rush finally gets home sometimes it's the DBS doing great work sometimes it's the defensive lineman winning up front and the Trojans send out the punt unit three and out and not much choice but to get rid of the [Music] ball looking for a block it's Robinson this guy is a daring pun Return Man he's not going to settle for the fair catch a solid return gets a little bit of ground for the offense they'll run the RPO and throw it right and he was just showing off all of the slit moves before the defense finally got him on the ground this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in pre-nap he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great Rhythm right [Applause] now Lewis to throw nowhere to go and the ball is loose and the defense snatches it and they're trying to flip the field you know his quarterbacks you've got to be good in the pocket even when things are collapsing and you've got guys swiping at it you got to have two hands on the football didn't do a really good job of ball security there and that led to the [Music] fumble guys the Troy offense returns to the field after a punt on their last possession and they are set up in plus territory this time and honestly it wouldn't have mattered if they scored a touchdown their last possession you've got to be able to turn the page and see this is a brand new opportunity to go get points yeah and your defense has set you up for in a position to get points right away now let's get this offense back rolling again create some momentum just get a few first downs and I'm in scoring position here comes the offense on second down they'll run playaction throws to the wide out oh what a spectacular layout and catch man that's a tough play to make when you're that far down the field and you you're trying to control your body and run as you're laying out that's a really great effort really good concentration and that is how you make your quarterback look really good the Trojans want to crank the tempo looking to move it through the air feeling the heat as he lets it go and he got a hand on it to knock it down in the end zone good job in coverage defending their own End Zone there because you're trying to compress these windows and make it tough for the quarterback and they were able to tip that one up in the air and obviously it falls incomplete this offense has a second down play the give is to Taylor there to stop him after a pick up of three it's down to the 15 they line up and it is a long way to the sticks from here looking downfield it's Crowder he's got it on the Run gets it inside the five down to the four and it'll be first and goal perfect timing to call that pass PL third and short down here in the Red Zone everybody in the stadium expecting you to run the football and if you don't get it maybe you kick a field goal maybe you go for it on Fourth you don't have to worry about that now because of the pass completion it's first and goal and the Trojans have it with a first and goal he got it touchdown Troy they take the lead with the six [Music] getting set for the point after and the extra point is good and it's a four-point lead so that scoring Drive took only six plays and they capped the drive with a four yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there getting [Applause] set he'll start the return inside his five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field as it turns out the fumble on that last Drive set up the touchdown David and there's no bigger stat in football than turnovers you turn the football over they turn it into points Jesse that is not a recipe for Success good news though they get another chance right they can make amends with this drive right here that's all that's important you've got to execute and you got to lock in second down coming up [Applause] Lewis wants to pass trying to get to him and the defense makes a play sacking him back at the 10 and that is your job the oine has to protect their quarterback that's the most important position on the field you got to make sure you keep him upright you got to do a better job this defense has kept them backed up now one more stop and they can get off the field on Third and long he's looking down field to throw he's got an open man got a lot of running room he is feeling it a huge play almost took to the house but they got him at the 24 that's a beautiful pass and catch I love the job the quarterback does manipulating the defense with his eyes he Froze that safety and that allowed his receiver more room to work his well Nevada going [Applause] quickly wide out in motion coming out on first down with the play fake on under heat and he gets rid of it hit hard as he released the ball on that first down pass and it never had a chance man this quarterback is going to need an ice bath when this game is over because he is getting whacked we've seen him go down he's been sacked time and time again he just got nailed another time on that last play he can't wait for this game to be over they'll run it from the gun there to stop him after a pick up of one to the 22 let's see what they've dialed up on Third and long from the 22 Lewis to throw feeling some heat trying to escape and get it himself Nifty little Scamper on this one enough for the first down and he slides in safely man these plays are just so demoralizing for defenses you you did a good job you got him in the third and predictable situation what does he do finds a way out of it makes a big play now he's set up first and goal forget that play now let's hold him to a [Applause] field he'll do it himself he pushes it forward all the way to the 2yd line well the QB decided to keep it on that one and listen if you had his athletic you'd want to keep it too almost every time they run these types of option plays but he's just going to have to do a good job of understanding when to hand it off when to pitch it and try to keep this defense on their heels and read his keys he's got a lot of talent just got to make sure he's and he takes it in for the score touchdown Nevada well well well somebody's been doing their box jumps you ain't lying getting up in the air Hey listen I'm taking a picture of that saving it that might be my SC screen saver on my phone that vertical way up in the air they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point puts them up by a field goal [Applause] almost ready to kick it away after scoring the [Applause] touchdown and he takes this from inside the five he was hoping for something a little more damic but they get him on the ground at the 20 now the Trojan offense returns to the field that last Drive really productive David wound up with a touchdown they'll try to do it again yeah so I don't expect this offense to change too much Reese they had a great Drive they got the touchdown everything working I would expect them to keep pushing this ball downhill and just imagine if they could put another touchdown on the board right here they could capture so much momentum in this game with back-to-back TDS halfway there on first down it's second and five he'll pull it on the read oh it's out oh looks as if the defense got it and he's brought down and this defense gets the ball back for its own well the quarterback did everything right in terms of his reads on that option play he was supposed to keep it but he's got to do a better job of holding on to the ball give the defense credit for getting to him and creating the takeaway the offense lining up for a first down play they go to the counter he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple when a running back has had as much success as this guy's had so far listen defense has got to quue in they got a q in to him he's priority number one number two and number three that's a good start to maybe turning this defensive effort around after getting knocked back to open this drive it's second and 12 Lewis wants to pass HS it in the stop is made but this offense is threatening first and goal from the nine wow the quarterback knew he had to get that one to his receiver quickly on the end route did you see the velocity on that throw Nevada comes to the line on first and [Applause] goal used the play fake now to throw just about picked off in the endone Zone and that would have put a stop to this scoring threat instead it'll be second down well the offense trying to take a shot and get aggressive down field that's one the defense just has to come up with an opportunity to make the interception in the end zone not going to get a lot of chances like that defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming they'll run it up the middle here looking for a path to the end zone they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one it's looking like going to have to try to throw this one into the end zone here on third down David quarterback's got to be careful can't get greedy because you know these windows they close fast extremely tight Windows find your big body guys that you know can win in contested situations here on third [Applause] down on Third and goal they'll try to throw it in pulls it in in the end zone touchdown Nevada that's his third touchdown pass of the day the defense has no clue how to respond right now no and the defense has had absolutely no answer he's been on the money he's been on fire making the right decisions and just carving this defense up lining up to attack one more on to that lead and with the extra point they push the lead out a little further a very efficient five playay scoring drive and they finish it off by connecting from 10 yards out about to kick it away after scoring the touchdown he'll bring it back from inside to SP nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 so guys we'll have another look at this Troy offense from the shotgun now here's an inside GI slams into the pile he'll get one to the 17 the deficit here is just 10 points David So a chance to answer here plenty of time left in this football game no need to panic this offense just has to put a couple Drives together and listen the defense will get this back and get some stops Palmer get you the football back and I think I think here too David have an opportunity to keep the pressure on the opponent yeah they just went down and scored but you score here and this game's still tight you keep their feet to the fire so an opportunity here to keep applying that pressure plays like that put just a second of hesitation in the defense to make sure and they're able to take advantage here and they use the great timing with this call right like you can't call this play all the time but you want to catch him when they're a little bit aggressive not thinking about it nice job slipping the screen behind them making the easy catch C and then getting downfield picking up some extra yards just masterful working that sideline and getting the toe down for the catch great job by the QB and the wide receiver understanding what they had to do to get a first down I don't care about the completion I don't care about getting a certain amount of yards I got to get that first down so I get another set of downs so we can keep this drive alive the tro will snap it on First and 10 they're bringing heat caught behind the line it's t each brought down but he went backwards after that completion not the way they had it drawn up line getting set on second down he'll just keep slinging it and they can't make the connection and I tell you what I know it's little when these QBs Miss and and the ball's not right to them but man it makes such a difference with yards after the catch and in this case even catching the football it was just a little bit off and it just made it a little bit difficult for his wide receiver to try to make the catch to the air it's Crowder setting up the screen and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain well give the defense credit there on third down it almost looked like they were expecting the screen they gave up a few yards but not enough for a first down now they've got a chance to get off the field and the Trojans will bring the punt team onto the field they may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today another punt on the way got to make sure those hammies and glutes all activated don't want any muscle pulls from overuse Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field Jesse a very productive Drive last time wound up with a touchdown yeah mixing and matching play calling really well nice balance on that last one Dave we'll see what they can do here on this next Drive yeah and I don't expect anything different when you put together a drive like that I would do more of the same keep the pace keep it going picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down he's looking to throw wide open downfield they've got it to the 49 yd line and they'll move the chains and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're going to need to be comfortable with guys one-on-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make better plays than what we saw right there they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to need better effort in the back end for this defense moving forward out of the gun the inside k and a good good solid pick up before the defense Cuts him down it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down after the productive first down play it's second and six trying play action tight end finds a soft spot he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yard yage on that play no question they wanted to get the ball to their Playmakers and both receivers have come up big through three one quarter to go and might we have the makings of a classic fourth quarter finish Lewis to throw he hurls one deep down the left side makes a catch at the 15 and they'll finally bring him down after he rips off a huge play he just keeps piling up numbers with completion after completion in this standout performance I think some people might say late in the game you got the win everything's in hand be a little bit conservative or you just say I'm just going to keep doing me and what I do with this offense is throw the football all of the yard and I'm going to try to win me a big trophy at the end of the year the run from the shotgun not much working there it'll be second and nine going to work in the Red Zone they can pick up the first down without getting it into the end zone from the gun they'll give it on the inside they get him on the ground at the three yd line but this defense is taking some punches yeah nice run and I think everybody knows he he's right there next to that 100 yard Mark 98 yards on the day and that's a mark man when you hit that Mark A lot of times and you take care of the football you win a lot of football games it's the more physical team it's the team that makes it easy makes it easier quarterback and they've done that today got out of trouble got rid of it grab near the marker is Howell touchdown wolf and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on them they'll try to add another to their lead and that extra point is a big one as they now have a threep possession 17o lead in the fourth lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown [Music] drive on the move from inside is five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 guys the Troy offense returns to the field they're going to throw it to start the drive quickly complete and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive Play here's the deal you're down three possessions you know it doesn't feel likely they're going to come back and win but we've seen crazier stuff happen in college football it all starts with a big completion on a two-minute Drive they'll get the momentum started in your direction looking to pass it's Crowder works the middle and he's knocked down immediately but not before he moves the chains nice job by the receiver on the in route there and how about the speed after he made his break he was able to actually separate a little bit from the DB helping out his QB on that one lining up from the 34 on first down he's going to pass and they can't connect but the flag flies and I think this is going to be pass interference and the defender just way too handsy on that last play you could see all the contact as the ball was in the air you simply can't do it and the referee's caught looking to go up top on first down catch open down the middle really nice job there by both guys the throw and the catch to work that defense and get the first down yeah when you run those drag routes it just takes a little bit of knowhow and when I say that the receivers got to understand find Space my quarterback's going to find me he's looking for that space at the same time nice throw nice catch way to get the first down they'll throw it on first down a strike downfield just carving up this defense and getting it down to the 24 it is so hard as a Defender to have to stop that big fella from Catching the corner outout right he already has great size and long arms and he can jump so what do you do I mean you're not trying to create pass interference and a penalty but that's just a size mismatch and the offense took advantage leaves it with the back I know the passing game sells and the passing game is exciting but it's not exciting to get five or six yards of pop on the ground but it will be very successful halfway there on first down it's second and five looking to throw it's Crowder he's got it on the Move That completion will take it inside the four and the offense is threatening how crazy is it that one of the best receivers in all of college football just made his first catch in this big of the game you've got to give the defense tons of credit they've had a plan for him they've limited him and that's why they're going to win first and goal and a great opportunity to slice into this lead he'll set up to throw and he wanted to get the score right there but balls incomplete you know that's one of those throws in the end zone you're working the back line you've got to put that where only your guy can make the play so you know you got to throw it high but it's got to be more accurate than that and as a result that one goes incomplete they'll give it another shot on second and goal from the four he's looking to throw touchdown Trojan and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house he has been seing Precision passes using the scaffold the fine instrument rather than the blunt one the defense has had absolutely no answer for it just he's been down their throats all game long a step ahead understanding what he's seeing and just destroying this defense lining up for the Pat and it's up and good as they draw J Just a Touch closer 76 yds on the drive for the touchdown and they CA the drive with a four yd touchdown pass so they've got the lead down to 10 here a little more interesting as they're set to kick it away here he comes from inside his own five and he's able to pick his way through the traffic nicely for a good return on that one before he's brought down hand off to the single back defense not budging he's still able to get two to the 29 at this point of the game the offense has the lead the offensive coordinator knows they want to keep running the football so he's going back he's looking at his playlist and he's saying which runs work the best for me in this game what can I lean on right here to make sure we win this one after picking up a couple at second and eight Lewis wants to pass flushed out of the pocket got to protect the merchandise gets down without taking a hit these are the plays that don't show up in the stat looks right like a great job look at him he does an awesome job instead of taking the sack clearly wanted to throw the football scrambles around gets some positive yards it doesn't go down as a huge game but these are the plays that get you W's trying to move the sticks on third down through the air he's got the tight end and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep them from getting the first down he has been the go-to guy on offense all game long and under a critical third down here in the fourth quarter surprise surprise guess who they go to that guy Nevada comes to the line after getting the first down to the ground with the back he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out last play was a near disaster now dealing with second and 13 he's looking to throw got it set up on the outside and he's able to bounce off one tackle for a solid pickup this offense is not letting up guys they've got a lead here late and they are still taking shots they're still looking for explosive plays this defense just has not had an answer here all game long this defense will try to force a fourth down on Third and short from the 45 from the gun wants to pass he's got his man he's got enough to move the chains and they'll spot it at the 47 and you just get the feeling that this defense has to find a way to get off the field and get the football back at this juncture of the game trailing late if they're going to win this Nevada offense really has it going they'll try the Run nice stiff arm there but the defense still able to stop him for a short gain it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got a lead late we're going to run the football and the defense and everybody in the stadium knows that's what's going to happen can we run the ball down their throats and impose our will that's what this offense right now is trying to do unloads to the wide out all kinds of room to throw that one in there all the way down to the 25 yd line they move the sticks it's first down I love an offense that wants to stay aggressive even when you've got the lead late in a game like this right you still try to find your Playmakers and get them the ball in space and that is exactly what this offense is doing they've got it first and 10 from the 25 he's looking to throw it fires to the wide out a beautifully placed ball to the outside in the tow drag for the big pickup he's been so locked in it seems like any pass called is a guaranteed chunk play yeah and winning late like this in the ball game keep trusting him keep spinning you know why because stats matter late in the game you want some postseason Awards keep chucking it keep getting those stats fast motion from the off defense a run for the quarterback headed to the end zone gets out of bounds after the big play and they'll be set up in business with a first and goal you know we talk about quarterbacks having to make quick decisions and I think you saw it on that play nobody opened downfield and he just decided to take off Nevada comes to the line on first and goal Lewis to throw Falls incomplete and he did everything perfectly except catch the football second down coming this quarterback is having a day man and right there he was looking for touchdown pass number five he has been dialing it up he's been throwing strikes we haven't seen him Miss very much like he did just there but what a game this dude is having trying to Surge it in and he takes it to the house touchdown wolf pack the offense flexes its muscle a bit and widens the Gap take a little exhale you know you did your job you got points now you put your defense in a position where hey go out and get another stop we're in great shape so the offense definitely taking care of their business lining up to tack one more onto that lead and that extra point is a big one as they now have a threep possession 17-point lead in the fourth about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown on the run from inside of zone five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 now the Trojan offense returns to the field throws to the wide out he got a hand in there knocks it away incomplete it's a nice adjustment by the defense here with a big lead in the game you're putting extra DBS on the field knowing the offense has to throw to get back in this one in the fourth quarter so your best cover guys on the field and they force an incompletion on the last one they'll try again on second down after the incompletion to the air it's Crowder unloads to the wide out and he really needed to hold on to that one but it was not loose and third down is coming at this point of the game in the fourth quarter it is going to be tough for this offense to get some completions here because now trailing by this much the defense is expecting pass and they're putting a whole bunch of extra DBS on the field to help them out in coverage you make up the game plan and not a lot on the play sheet for this third and long from inside their own he lobs one high down the left side and that'll be incomplete they certainly weren't afraid to take a shot there and now it's fourth down well trailing this much in the fourth quarter the offense is looking for an explosive play to try to ignite them and get them back in this one but nothing doing nice job in coverage the Trojans will pun it away on fourth down and these guys have been busy sixth punt of the day slips through the line little pressure on the coverage team there and they'll stop him at the 47 yd line Nevada takes over as the offense returns to the field this offense has really been clicking in the game so far Jesse no doubt everything their play caller is dialing up these guys offensively have been able to go out and execute David yeah and it's just maintaining the lead keep doing what you've been doing you got a big lead let's just keep piling it on until they find an answer picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down right back to the well and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up I think you run that play so you stay out of third and long third and long is not where an offense ever wants to thrive third and medium hey I'm good with that so you run that play to make sure you're set up for a good third down offense breaks the Huddle on third down they think there's room to run to the right here he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up and a first down for this offense you got to be impressed by how you've seen this offense finish in this football game they've been scoring points in the fourth quarter just got a touchdown on their last drive and there they rip off a big run they are not letting off the gas right now and as a coach you love to see that the give to the running back from the shotgun really nice run there good solid pickup and they'll move the sticks with a first down yeah you got to be impressed with this offense man fourth quarter they've been money great job putting Drives together nice play there as well but this offense has saved their best for the last part of this football game when they needed it the most this Nevada offense really has is it going from the gun he leaves it with the back they make the stop after a pick up of three just inside the red zone at the 19 got three on first down it's second and seven trying to surprise him with the pass and that pass will be Jarred loose on second down that brings up third down well that's just a great play by the defender and great timing it was the hit that forced that incompletion they couldn't make the connection on second down now a third and seven to keep the drive alive Lewis wants to pass throws for the tight end touchdown Nevada and the out is on it's another good decision by the quarterback you've got to be impressed here on that one he finds his tight end but all game long whether it's receivers or running backs or tight ends wherever the best one-on-one matchup has been he's been able to take advantage of it and that's why they've been able to score so many points they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point will tack another one onto this lead they just finished off a 53 yd scoring drive and the Capper a 19 yd toss for the touchdown kickoff team is on the field they'll try to drive this one deep he'll start the return inside as five not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 so guys we'll have another look at this Troy offense he Wast no time and comes out throwing a little screen to the running back and it's pretty obvious there was a big hole in that screen and the defense ran right through it well the defense sniff that screen out perfectly all the D lineman they were reading the body language of the offensive line they knew something was up and when the screen pass got thrown they were right there to make the tackle what can they pull out of the Playbook here on second and long from the 17 pressure coming he's going to take off on the run and he'll slide to avoid the hit a Nifty pick up there Hey listen it's important at that position to be able to be good off schedule everything's easy when it's on time you can get the ball out but when things break down they get off schedule you've got to have a guy back there that can make the right decisions he did exactly that if they can convert here that type of play can really give you a shot of momentum incomplete thanks to the great defensive pressure there that sort of threw them out of rhythm and now such a tough situation late in this game you're trailing but now it's Fourth and long like it's one thing if it's Fourth and short this makes it even more difficult you got to have something up you feel really great about down by multiple possessions you can't come up empty on this drive they'll go for it on fourth down he's got a first down and maybe a lot more and they finally get him to the ground an easy conversion for this offense defense not exactly the perfect fourth down call there that's a great example of the receiver knowing exactly where the first down marker is he got the depth he needed to get so once he was able to make the catch he already knew he had it now a fresh set of DS and the Trojans have it with a first and 10 to the air it's Crowder using the quick game just making a play getting it to the 23 yd line it'll be first down I'll tell you man I love quarterbacks that have arm talent but that can throw it accurately at the same time and you saw all of it on that in route down to the 23 for this first and 10 they're going to throw it again gets rid of it and this will be incomplete a big hit here forces second down and this defense has put a game together like it is hard to put all the facets of Defense together run defense pass defense they've been so good man dialed in you could tell they were ready they were fast they were physical they dominated this football game looking to throw on second down got his he goes out of bounds after the big play but there is a penalty marker on the field let's see that one's [Applause] about the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty wants to throw on first down off the play fake and good hands there by the defense on that shot to the end zone and this is just one of those days man where everything has gone wrong right like they just haven't been in a rhythm they haven't they haven't got it going and never built the momentum this is this is one of those days you learn from you try to grow from a lot of things that we're going to show in the film room that people aren't going to like but hopefully you can learn from it and do better next time it's incomplete he was shooting for the end zone right there and that is a huge missed opportunity for the quarterback you've got your guy wide open in the end zone you're not under pressure you just got to hit him that ball got away and that's one he'd like to have back and they'll come to the line and try to draw a little bit closer on third and goal to the air it's Crowder looking to the end zone and that ball was In Harm's Way and he is lucky to get that one back well on Third and short in field goal range they dial up the pass play quarterback was trying to get through his progressions there was just simply nobody open couldn't make an accurate enough throw ball Falls incomplete Now setting up a big decision here on fourth down a field goal really doesn't do much for you in this situation so they'll go for it on Fourth and goal he wants it all and the fourth down pass Falls incomplete and they'll have to give up the football they're backed up first and 10 from inside their own five let's see if they can create some space they'll pick up four second and Six coming and the defense is still fighting they they haven't had the day that they dreamed of you know talking to the coaches coming into the game like they thought they had a good plan they'd be ready to attack and and and limit some of the damage this offense has done they haven't done it today though they got to go back to the drawing board figure some things out cuz this wasn't a great day running back searching for a hole they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one and after taking a loss on that last run a little bit of pressure right now for this offense on their own side of the field they've got the lead here in the fourth quarter but this is a critical third down that they have to convert they don't want to give the ball back the pressure on their own defense a third and long coming up here they'll leave it with him and sure tackling there to keep him from getting to the first down marker for for
