roster cut down deadline time teams are now down to 53 man rosters basically right now the defending champs making moves today in the wide receiver room what more can you add Adam schfer well L the most interesting one was that the Kansas City Chiefs released Kadarius Tony who made some huge playes for them in both ways the past couple of Seasons since they acquired him we saw Tony involved in key touchdown plays in the Super Bowl made decisive plays but also had some key drops also had some missed assignments also made some mistakes and today the Chiefs moved on from Kadarius Tony officially waving him from their roster however micle Hardman who might have been on the bubble as well did make the team at least he made the initial 53 man roster so the Chiefs have opted to keep mcole Harman who also has made some big plays for this team team leans on his speed and that speed will be available to Kansas City this season and part of the reason they made some of these moves is because the team did add Juju Smith Shuster the former wide receiver who's played there in the past he still doesn't know whether he'll be ready to play a week from Thursday in Kansas City's week one opener against the Baltimore Ravens he said today it's too early to tell whether he'll be ready but he's certainly going to give it an effort to be back out there and if he can't play week one then he'd have 10 more days to rest up but judu Smith Shuster will be on the roster and micle Hardman will be on the roster and cadarius Tony will not yeah a lot to still figure out we're now just nine what do you make of it all yeah they're trying to get stability I mean that's a big thing for the Kansas City City Chiefs I mean they're going with players that they have known to be consistent for a guy like Patrick moves now look Darius Tony has helped them win Super Bowls that is a fact but we saw that the inconsistency from a year ago really put a lot of question marks around the offense and for them this year they're going with the guys like Juju Smith Shuster mcole Hardman obviously there's a lot of questions around rased rice and with that suspension if at all will look like but for Patrick Mahomes he needs to know what he's dealing with going into the season so on a week in week out basis they have something to base their pass game on for Patrick Mahomes yeah we'll H continue to talk about the Chiefs as we get closer to actually kicking off this season let's get some more top stories though with Adam let's go to it was great to see everybody out there and uh we look forward to um you know the Ravens game coming up here in a couple weeks and we know this place will be geared up and ready to go and I know our veteran players and um and some of those young guys once they heal up from this they'll be they'll be ready to go too um really there was not much on the on the injury front for you I mean w w was the the primary one he just kind of retweaked that that knee a little bit um but other than that we we came out uh pretty pretty clean he's going to be okay we just give him give him some time here to rest up and and go but he was doing a nice job when he when he had the opportunity um with that tunder as as how you back yeah I thought the offensive line kind of settled down after the first series or two there and uh I thought we did better and um and then defensively we had some good snaps and um you know in there we you know but again we can we can do a little bit better I thought our two the two uh veteran defensive ends that are like real young um I thought they did they did okay you know they got some good snaps in we are here we are huh take us through how this happened and uh take us through the whole process um yeah man uh obviously you know I got released by New England and uh pretty much just talking to teams and seeing what what option felt best and you know coming here was probably the best you know for me and uh my career so yeah why I was coming here best for you why do you feel like this is the best spot for you uh you know just very familiar with the offense uh very familiar with uh you know Andy Reid Pat the guys you know so just being in this this facility uh you know kind of makes your job a lot easier then going to somewhere new where you kind of got to learn everything you know pretty quickly I think the hardest part for offensive player is going to a new system and having to study a whole new playbook um you know being in New England I studied two playb two offensive Playbook and and you know being familiar with this Playbook yeah you feel like you could be ready to play next week um it's too early to say I just got the Playbook so it's uh you know some things has changed so just you know taking it day by day um but um you never know you kept in touch with a lot of the guys that still play here during your time in New England make the transition back here so yeah yeah yeah I mean I'm you know all these guys are my friends so you know we always you know touch base here and there uh you know got got to see him last year too when you guys came down to uh you know to Boston and uh played there so yeah I was kept in touch with these guys when you did decide to leave I think the Chiefs had some interest in retaining you um how much consideration did you give to just just staying and and not leading to begin with say that again how much consideration did you did you give to maybe staying with the Chiefs in the first place and leaving when you did make that decision yeah I mean I was a tough decision it was tough um you know a place like this is very special and uh being able to play with these guys and you know the coaches here uh it was a tough decision you know um but you know at the end of the day I kind of needed to do something that you know I want to do I kind of Branch off by myself and you know keep that going and you know some's happen so yeah in a stunning turn of events the Kansas
