than you think I was reading the Bible it says we are blessed with all all spiritual blessings in Heavenly places we're seated at the right hand of God wow isn't that something the Bible said if God be for us it doesn't matter who's against us does it and I'm telling you what here's what I want to talk about just a little bit uh they didn't know I was coming but I I'm here and I want to share something with you we got to learn to get over it well you don't know what they've done to me whatever they did to us can't be what we did to Jesus and the Bible said be be kind tender-hearted forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven us don't hold any bitterness it'll wear you out okay okay now here we go I I I love this Isaiah 40 start with verse 28 and uh it basically would say like this in our modern day language hey didn't you get the memo did my text come through here it is Isaiah 4028 have you not known have you not heard the Everlasting God the Lord the creator of the ends of the Earth Earth does not faint nor grow weary there is no searching of his understanding verse 29 he gives power to the faint and to the weary and to him who has no might he increases strength causing it to multiply and make it to abound verse 30 even the youth grow weary and the selective young men uh shall feeble be feeble and stumble and be exhausted but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength they shall Mount up with wings as of eagles they'll run and not be weary they'll walk and not faint but whole here's the whole key they that wait upon the Lord now I'll tell you what if you s if you seek the Lord you'll find him is that correct yeah he's not far from us and he wants us to to mount up with wings as of eagles I like that but those that wait upon the Lord who expect look for and hope in him shall uh change and renew their strength and power and they be lifted up with wings so they'll Mount up with wings as of eagles I like that you go well I've been pretty exhausted lately get with the Lord get with the Lord aren't you aren't you glad when Jesus hung up on the cross he said it's finished not I'm finished aren't you you know that and well I'm telling you the Bible said if God be for us who can be against us we got to put our focus on him now one of the things that'll wear you out is looking out looking at all the chaos all the disturbance all the political all that thing and I'm telling you if you look out the Bible said men's Hearts failing them for the things they see coming upon the Earth but what we got to do is look higher Isaiah 263 thou will keep him in what perfect peace all you can't get better than perfect and peace is powerful how powerful is peace Romans 16:20 Romans 16:20 said the God of Peace who will crush Satan under your feet don't you like that every time it seems like in the Bible that the devil and Saints are mentioned the devil's under your feet behold I give you power to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and it know I hurt you we have power over the devil here's what the Bible says greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world you're more than a conqueror you're Hooper Nike that's that's the Greek word Hooper Nike yeah uh I'm said that means super Overcomer say super Overcomer we're not getting through this thing just by the skin or our teeth we're coming through with a high hand he's the glory and the lifter of our head aren't you glad we we got to get a little more excited about who we are I try to tell people here's what you need to do you need to get in front of the mirror and go wow I'm really something there ain't nobody like me we got to start quit underestimating who we are listen God picked you out he said you didn't choose me I chose you is that he when did he choose us eternity past to live in the present to forge the future God saw something very redeemable in you and now we're in his kingdom and his kingdom is in US Esther says we're in the Kingdom for such a time as this that's wonderful but there's something better than that the kingdom is in us for such a time as this God's called us to be World Changers you go oh no just going to live a few good years and go on to Glory no that that's too no we're going to shake things up because as he is so are we in this present World there there's some verses in the Bible if it was in the Bible I'd never believe it here's one these works that I do and greater Works than these shall you do because I go to my father Jesus meant that he's not going to lie to us he's not chasing us God set the bar really we here's what's going to happen we're going to get so excited we're going to move from the miracul from the mundane to the miraculous we're we're going to move from the ordinary to the extraordinary and guess what's going to happen one of the greatest moves of soul-winning is going to happen because we're getting back to signs and wonders and miracles multitudes that means a bunch multitudes believed on him when they saw the Miracles he did that's what we got to do we got to have signs wonders and miracles and we start we need to do that and we get it need to get it back in our churches back in our homes back in our uh lives where miracles happen boy I'll tell you what I like I like I like it uh when God's presence is just all over the whole city I was in uh Reading California one time in a Walmart store and this is true I'm in a Walmart store in reading and uh they come over the loudspeaker and say prayers being offered in a 17 now that's pretty good is it they came on the loud speaker in the Walmart store and said prayer is being offered on aisle 17 a town that is so saturated with people believing that they can do the supernatural that they're in the in Walmart stores praying for people we need to pray for people we need to pray to see people get up out of wheelchairs blind people throw their cane away Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever three questions sent them through if not now when if not here where if not you who somebody's going to shake this thing up aren't they yeah and it should be us you go well you know I'm I'm I'm I'm getting so old no no Psalms 146 says one generation will spend the rest of their life alluding and applauding the mighty Deeds of God convincing the coming generation that God's everything that he says he is now listen God's not through with you it's not time to retire it's time to refire don't you think yeah listen some of the sh oh I got rebuked one time good gracious and I was off in uh bise and the little missionary there she was old as dirt and she was just frail and we were off on a mission trip and there was some very rough people back there there then the Aras aarian and they didn't like us because of what the Britains had the British had done and so so the car breaks down watch out that watch that's first step and the car broke down and uh the RAS of faans got around the car and they're trying to turn the car over and they're cursing they're they're beating and so I'm looking on the seat for a a a tarol or maybe something like that I'm going to get out and beat her way out of there and the little missionary with her little Knuckles around the steering wheel she looked over at me like this and goes I suspect prayer will work better I go wow why didn't I think of that see the wrath of man does not work the will of God this little lady she cracked the window about like that started praying in tongues scared those guys well listen they they went screaming and running and I'm going what did I think about that prayer should be our first res resource not our last resort don't you think he's a very present help in the time of trouble he said I'll never ever never ever leave you nor forsake you he's with you one of my favorite verses is what naam 71 God is good a stronghold in the day of trouble and he knows those that are trusting him I'm so thankful it didn't say God was good are he going to be good he is good right in the middle of your mess he's good and he can come and he can they that wait upon the Lord shall what renew their strength that shall Mount up with the wings as of eagles he'll run and not be weary all right so I want to to pray with you just for a moment Lord thank you thank you for Morning Star Ministries thank you for your plans and purposes for this place Lord we pray that you'll help us to be all that you called us to be let us be bright lights let us be salt that's functioning God we want to see the kingdom of God spread across the entire world and Lord you said the voice of one in the wilderness crying prepare you the way of the Lord make straighten the desert highway Lord the mountains fill in The Valleys for the glory of the Lord shall be revealed All Flesh shall sit together because the mouth of the Lord has declared it we thank you Lord that you're going to f full you're going to fulfill every word of this book in Jesus name amen God bless you thanks thank you Bobby Tom Hardman says if you're going to preach at Morning Star you need to ask the Lord what he wants to say to Morning Star so I did exactly that Lord what do you want to say to Morning Star and as he often did in his Earthly Ministry he answered my question with a question of his own four words what are you wearing that was all he said which led me to the scriptures and I was amazed at how much the Bible has to say about about what we wear I mean um we've come a long way since uh Adam and Eve first sewed fig leaves in the Garden of Eden right if you get expelled I mean if you if you live in a garden you sew fig leagues together if you live in a garden that's what you do but if you get expelled from the garden you work the land fight off wild beasts and wear animal skins and um vegetable fibers Elijah wor hair cloth and a leather girdle John the Baptist wore camel's hair and a leather girdle later finer Fabrics were introduced like wool fleece cotton and linen and in modern times uh synthetic fibers we've added like polyester and rayon and nylon but once upon a time what we wore was important whether we went to church school work a party or a special event pretty much everything had appropriate attire remember those days anybody yeah today and throughout history some people have always been more concerned about what they wear than others my wife can tell you uh what she and I wore the day we met the day we our first date she can tell you what we wore on our engagement day on our wedding day of course and probably every anniversary since me I can't tell you what I wore yesterday and that's why I made my wife my wardrobe specialist when I speak so yes in addition to the Thousand other roles that she plays she is my official wardrobe specialist so when I speak I don't have to stop and think about what to wear I just wear whatever she puts out for me and so so um thank you so if you don't like what I'm wearing this morning blame her no doesn't she do a great job right come on all right see I can't tell you what I wore yesterday let alone the last time that I spoke so I'd probably wear the same thing every time I speak she remember all of that I don't know how you know when God brought Adam uh brought Eve to Adam um he said here's the perfect helpmate for you and my perfect helpmate is Faith and she takes really good care of me and besides all that yes give her a hand besides all that she makes me laugh we all need to laugh don't we like I always say marriage is the closest thing to heaven or hell on Earth I've had both and I choose heaven so what we wear is important but sadly in today's casual World pretty much anything goes we can wear anything anywhere and most people don't care I know Rick sometimes teaches proper attire especially when speaking to students and graduates about job interviews he stresses the importance of showing respect for others and often uses biblical references if you dress for an interview it shows you want the job if you keep dressing like uh when you go to work every day it shows you want to keep your job most workplaces still have dress cods anyone remember casual Fridays oh yeah now I like casual attire I like not having to dress up except on special occasions especially in the hot summers as an associate pastor for a large Church in Florida the retirement capital of the world it seemed like every week somebody died and most weeks more than one have you ever stood outside in Florida in the middle of August with a shirt tie and jacket on let me tell you you won't laugh last long sometimes they put these little tents up you know at the grave sites to keep you out of the rain but they're never big enough and it's even hotter Under the Tent so I'm all for casual comfortable wear especially in the summer so long as it's not too casual or too comfortable if you know what I mean we wear proper attire out of respect for others and sometimes out of respect for God as you know it's been a longstanding tradition in some Churches and still is to dress up and to show respect for God and for others Rick says Derek Prince put his suit on every morning before going to God In Prayer but don't worry this is not a message about physical clothes like I said the Bible has plenty to say about what we wear but not so much about our physical clothes aren't you glad you might ask what other clothes are there and I'm so glad you asked the first Bible verse that comes to mind to my mind anyway when I think about proper attire is Jesus's parable of the wedding Feast do you remember the man who showed up without a wedding garment let's turn there in Matthew 22 beginning verse 1 Jesus Jesus answered and spoke to them again by Parables and said the Kingdom of Heaven is like a certain King who arranged a marriage for his son and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding and they were not willing to come again he sent out other servants saying tell those who are invited see I have prepared my dinner my oxen and fatted cattle are killed and all things are ready come to the wedding but they made light of it and went their ways one to his farm another to his business and the rest seized his servants treated them spitefully and killed them but when the king heard about this he was Furious and he sent out his armies destroyed those murderers and burned up their city and then he said to his servants the wedding is ready but those who were invited were not worthy therefore go into the highways and as many as you find invite to the wedding so those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found both bad and good and the wedding hall was filled with guests but when the king came in to see the guests he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment so he said to him friend how did you come in here without a wedding garment and he was speechless then the king said to the servants bind him hand and foot take him away and cast him into outer Darkness there will be weeping and nashing of teeth for many are called but few are chosen now the first group invited to the king's wedding were those from within his own kingdom which represents the Jews the same is true in many of Jesus's Parables just before the parable of the wedding Feast Jesus spoke in the last few verses of Matthew 21 of the stone the builders rejected that had become the Chief Cornerstone Jesus was that stone the Jews were the bu Builders and he is now the Chief Cornerstone of the church can you say amen and then Jesus said therefore I say to you the kingdom of God will be taken from you speaking to the Jews and given to a new nation the church bearing the fruits of it so the parable of the wedding Feast is a continuation of that narrative the first group who received the wedding invitations were the members of his own Kingdom the Jews Jesus described them in this Parable as being stubborn stiff necked and unwilling to come though they were invited more than once and some even killed his servants the prophets all of which Rings true throughout scripture so the kingdom respond I'm sorry the king responded by sending his armies to destroy and burn their city and then the king ordered his servants to to go out into the highways and byways and find anyone that they could find both bad and good that's the church made up of Jews and Gentiles who have been grafted in and now also invited to the marriage supper of the lamb but here's where it gets personal but when the king came in to see the guests he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment so he said to him friend how did you come in here without a wedding garment he was speechless then the king said to the servants bind him hand and foot take him away cast him in the outer Darkness they'll be weeping weeping and nashing of teeth for many are called but few are chosen this man was called or invited to the wedding Feast but showed up without proper Tire in other words he made it past the guard without a wedding garment the king asked how did you get in the man was speechless because he was guilty and without excuse the king ordered his servants to bind him hand and foot take him away cast him into outer Darkness where there's weeping and nashing of teeth now we all know what this means in scripture hell outer darkness is as dark as dark can get weeping and nashing of teeth is also repeated throughout scripture and throughout Jesus's Parables and is descriptive of hell so this Parable leaves us begging answers to two questions number one what number two why what is considered proper attire for the wedding party of God's son and two why was this man sent to Hell Jesus immediately answered the why question because or for many are called but few are chosen called means invited many are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb both bad and good but few are chosen the key to this entire Parable is chosen which is the Greek word eclecto but the what question remains unanswered here what is considered proper attire for the wedding party of God's son have you ever wondered that would you like to know I believe the Bible also answers the what question Colossians 3 beginning verse one if then you were raised with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God set your mind on things above not on things on the earth for you died and your life is hidden with Christ and God when Christ who is our life appears then you will also appear with him in glory therefore put to death the death put to death your members which are on the earth fornication uncleanness passion evil desire and covetousness which is idolatry because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them but now you yourselves are to put off these anger wrath malice blasphemy filthy language out of your mouth the word put off here is the Greek word aey which means to take off or to lay aside as you would close do not lie to one another since you have put off now this is a different word Greek word epic dami which also means to strip off like clothes so we have am I on the right page here yes so we have put off the old man with his deeds and have put on IND Duo which means endued or clothed with the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of him who created him where there is neither Jew nor Greek circumcised nor uncircumcised barbarians schian slave or free but Christ is all and in all where are we here I think I lost my there it is Christ all is all and in all and then Colossians 3:12 what are the Deeds of the new man therefore as the elect of God holy and beloved now let's stop right here do you see that word elect everybody see that word that is the Greek word eclecto the same word Jesus used in the parable when he said many are called but few are chosen Chosen and elect are the same word therefore as the chosen or the elect of God put on everybody say put on Tender Mercies kindness humility meekness longsuffering bearing with one another forgiving one another if any has a complaint against another even as Christ forgave you so you must also do but of all above all these things everybody say put on love which is the bond of perfection that binds all of these other things that he mentioned together so this man was sent to hell because he wasn't wearing proper attire because many are called but few are chosen who are The Chosen the elect of God and what do they wear Mercy kindness humility meekness longsuffering forbearance forgiveness and above [Music] all love now when you get dressed in the morning do you normally put on one garment no we have inner and outer wear tops and bottoms right socks and shoes and sometimes sweaters and jackets these are all clothes the that the chosen the elect of God wear and these are the clothes God will be looking for you to wear when at the wedding party of God's son but the main garment he will be looking for is love which is an allinone garment Jesus said in John 13:35 by this all including God will know that you are my disciples if everybody say if you have love one for another so I ask you what are you wearing the Bible doesn't stop there though love is only the beginning and the most important garment to be wearing at the wedding supper of the Lamb Romans 13 owe no man anything except to love one another for he who loves another has fulfilled the law for the Commandments are all summed up in this saying namely you shall love your neighbor as yourself love does no harm to a neighbor therefore love is the Fulfillment of the law and do this knowing the time that now it is high time to wake out of sleep for now our Salvation is nearer than than when we first believed the night is far spent the day is at hand therefore let us cast off aamy the works of darkness by the way did you know that in Hebrews chap 12 where it says let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ens snares us and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith lay us side is the same Greek word aamy which means cast off or put off this literally means we need to take off the ankle weights that slow us down or prevent us from running the endurance race a't that cool in verse 12 therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on IND duo in or close ourselves with the armor of light let us walk properly as in the day see he's talking about proper attire here not in rry and drunken drunkenness not in loudness and lust not in strife and envy but put on IND Duo Ino or clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts notice each time before we can put something new on we have to take something old off in Colossians Paul said take off the old man and put on the new man in Romans he says take off the Deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light and then he said let us dress properly proper attire knowing the time is short take off rry drunkenness lewdness lust strife and envy put on Jesus Christ I ask you again what are you wearing have you ever been to a masquerade party where everyone dresses like someone else and you have to guess who they are well according to scripture the wedding supper of the Lamb will be like a masquerade party except every everyone will be wearing the same outfit put on the Lord Jesus Christ can you imagine the wedding supper of the Lamb oh hi Jesus oh hi Jesus how you doing over here oh almost missed you over here hi Jesus oh you're the real Jesus can you imagine the ma the wedding supper of the Lamb Paul literally told us to clothe ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ but Jesus told us to clothe ourselves with something else Luke 24:49 behold I send the promise of my father upon you but tar in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued that's the Greek word uo again which means clothed with power from on high so put on love put on Jesus now Jesus said put on the power of the Holy Spirit John 2022 now Jesus breathed on his disciples and said receive the Holy Spirit I believe that is when the Holy Spirit came to live inside the disciples but in Luke Jesus told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were clothed cled with power from on high which we know was the Holy Spirit now wait a minute didn't he just breathe on them and tell them to receive the Holy Spirit yes then why wait in Jerusalem for something they already had I believe when Jesus breathed on them and said receive the Holy Spirit they received the holy spirit inside them which couldn't happen until until after the Resurrection the key word here is IND Duo again Jesus didn't ask them to wait in Jerusalem to receive the holy spirit inside them they already had that he said wait until you are clothed with power from on high with the Holy Spirit see the difference inside outside and I can prove it to you John 1 32 and John bore witness saying I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove and he remained what upon him I did not know him but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me upon whom you see the spirit descending and remaining on him this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit acts 1: 18 but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you Acts 2 three and suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind filled the whole house where they were sitting then there appeared to them divided tongues as a fire and one sat upon each one of them acts 8:16 now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God they sent Peter and John to them who when they came down prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit not in them for as he yet had fallen upon none of them in each case the Holy Spirit came not in them but upon them like clothes so just picture a large cloak or garment if you will coming down from heaven and clothing covering enveloping surrounding immersing and baptizing you the Greek word in Duo literally means to sink into clothes to slip on or to put on clothes that is the baptism in the Holy Spirit you can make it to heaven with the Holy Spirit living inside you but if you want to bring others to heaven with you I challenge you to do what Jesus said in Acts 1 18 and receive the Holy Spirit upon you and you will be his Witnesses in Jerusalem Judea Samaria and to the ends of the Earth you need proper attire to pray to preach to witness to minister to others like Bobby was just talking about and you need proper attire to do any of those things and that is the holy spirit coming upon you I ask you again what are you wearing does the Bible say we're to wear anything else yes 1 Peter 55 likewise you younger people submit yourselves to your elders yes all of you be submissive to one another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble therefore humble yourselves under the the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time personally I believe that being clothed with humility is the number one key to Revival when I studied theusa Street Revival I learned that the entire city of Los Angeles was ripe and ready for Revival the Baptist the Methodist the Free Methodist the Holiness the uh Armenians the pisca home movement all those groups were in Los Angeles at the same time and the fire was on them so I asked the Lord why did you pick this group on isusa street for your next worldwide Revival he said because they were the humblest and sure enough every testimony that I read after that without exception said what a humbling experience it was to go to isua Street they truly were the humblest people in love Los Angeles at that time and because they were God used them for his next worldwide Revival Peter said all of you be submissive to one another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time some of you are wondering when is due time when you're due when you have truly humbled yourself and you're due to be exalted so long as Pride remains in us God cannot exalt us because if he did it would either kill us or destroy us pride and exaltation are not good partners God resists the proud and the word resist means to set oneself in battle Ray array against talk about clothing yourself did you know that God clothe himself what does God clothe himself with he clothes himself with glory for one but also battle attire against the proud I keep hearing about people having Pride celebrations you know I'm sorry but pride is not something to celebrate according to the Bible pride is the snare of the devil if that will tell you anything I remember years ago if someone drove an old beat up car that they put this bumper sticker on their car that said I'm po but I'm proud have you seen that before yeah that's double trouble because you'll never get out of poverty as long as you remain proud because God opposes the proud and exalts the humble that means he'll raise you to a higher level and even a higher income bracket if you'll humble yourself amen yep the Way Up Is Down the way down is up if you want to be great in God's kingdom be a servant humble yourself as a child because God sets himself in battle array against the proud how many of you would like God to exalt you anybody okay no not man exalts you I'm talking about God exalts you well what are you wearing I think Peter knew what he was talking about when he said that I think he learned about when he um pride and humility over the years during Jesus's Ministry Peter was hands down the most impetuous of the 12 but Jesus kept working on that Pride until he ended up the humblest how do I know history tells us that when Peter was ordered to be crucified he said said no he objected he said I am not worthy to be put to death in the same manner as my Lord crucify me upside down indeed history records that Peter was crucified upside down at his own request Jesus even prophesied Peter's death saying most assuredly I say to you when you were younger you gerded yourself you walked where you wished when you were old you Str stretched out your hand another will guard you and carry you where you do not wish referring of course to his crucifixion Peter clothed himself with humility so God could exalt him to this day the Catholic Church considers Peter the first pope so put on love Christ the holy spirit in humility the Bible teaches us to wear all these things all the time these are everyday clothes but then there are special times that call for special clothing if you're going mountain climbing everyday clothes will not get you there you need special gear to effectively climb a mountain if you're going to go on the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine everyday clothing won't get you there you need protective gear to protect you from the elements Sun heat wind rain snow ice and yes Bears if you go to the frozen tundra of Antarctica you will need special clothing thermal underwear socks suits hoods scarves face masks boots uh likewise the Bible teaches us that there are times when we need to put on special gear Isaiah 61 the spirit of the Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor and then if you come down to a few verses later it says the Garment of pray for the spirit of heaviness he will give those who mourn to console those who mourn in Zion to give them Beauty for Ashes the oil of joy for mourning the Garment of Praise that they may be called Trees of Righteousness both Isaiah and Jesus were sent to heal the brokenhearted to Proclaim Liberty to the captives how by giving them Beauty for Ashes ashes and sackcloth were things that people wore in those days when they were in mourning Isaiah instructed them to replace the ashes and sackcloth with joy and beauty and replace the spirit of heaviness with the Garment of Praise again take off the old clothes to put on the new how many of you know what a spirit of heaviness is some of you may have a spirit of heaviness right now you're on top of the world one day and on the bottom the next that is the spirit of heaviness and it's an evil spirit like the evil spirit that came on Saul David had to play his harp for praise and the spirit of heaviness would leave him the Garment of Praise removes the spirit of heaviness and the oil of joy and gladness removes mourning the moment you feel a spirit of heaviness come on you put something else on in its place the Garment of Praise it's not easy to do when a spirit of heaviness hangs over me the last thing my flesh wants to do is praise the Lord but I promise you it works every time Hebrews 12:12 says when we lift up our hands that hang down and strengthen our feeble knees that we will make straight paths for our feet and that which is lame will be healed amen somebody said well what if I do all that and it comes back do it again keep doing it until you reach the Year of Jubilee Jubilee can permanently remove the spirit of heaviness we cannot live long as humans in this world without experiencing the spirit of heaviness but thank God there's a cure for what hangs over us it's called the Garment of Praise in Leviticus the priests had to take off their old garments and put on new linen garments which were holy before they could enter the Tabernacle they had to enter his gates with Thanksgiving and into his courts with praise I ask you again what are you wearing is there anything else we need to wear yes job 29:14 job says I put on righteousness and it clothed me my Justice was like like a robe in a tur turban how many of you have heard of righteous job how did he get righteous he put on righteousness and then also Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 521 awake awake put on your strength oh Zion put on your beautiful garments oh Jerusalem the holy city there are times when the church needs to put on strength like now when we're at our weakest and finally my brethren I bet some of you thought I would never get here did you Ephesians 6 finally my brethren be strong in the Lord in the power of His might put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the Ws of the devil and then later on it says in the evil day put on the whole armor so in the evil day you will be able to stand put on the breast of righteousness your your feet Shaw with the preparation of the gospel of peace above all take the shield of Faith which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one put on salvation and put on the and and take up the sword of the spirit which is the word of God praying always with all prayer in the spirit so the Bible teaches there are things we must put on every day love Jesus the Holy Spirit humility and there are things we must put on when the the times call for them Beauty for Ashes the oil of joy for mourning the Garment of Praise for the spirit of Heaven is righteousness for unrighteousness strength when weakness prevails and the whole armor of God in the evil day how many of you believe we're living in evil days right now dear Lord yes then put on Truth righteousness put on all the armor of God now I shared this at the MFM retreat but it be repetition here at the lowest point of the American Revolution General George Washington's troops were encamped at macon's Ferry on the Delaware River opposite Trenton the colonies had just lost New York City to the British between September and December 11,000 Americans volunteers quit fighting and went back home to their families the rest of Washington's Army contract expired December 31st Washington knew without a miracle the American Revolution was over and that's when Thomas Payne sat down and penned these famous words these are the times that try men's Souls the summer soldiers and the Sunshine Patriot will in this crisis shrink from the service of his country but he that stands it now deserves the love and thanks of men man and woman tyranny like hell is not easily conquered yet we have this consolation with us that the harder the conflict the more glorious the Triumph when Washington read those words he immediately ordered those freshly printed pamphlets to be Al read aloud to his troops the impassioned words had their intended effect on Christmas Day 1776 washing Washington's beleaguered troops mustered enough courage to cross the icy Delaware River and surprise and defeat a bunch of drunken hessen soldiers and then on January the 6 I'm sorry January the 2nd three days after their contracts had expired Washington's men again faced Lord corn Wallace at the Battle of Princeton and won again the pen moved proved mightier than the sword don't think for one moment that we cannot win the battles that we face today and I'll be darn if we're going to let what they uh the the livelihoods and the families and what these men risk their lives for and to just let it all slip away in this generation no the Washingtons and pains are with us today as they were then and America will again win it's freedom in the words of another famous American Ronald Reagan freedom is never more than one generation away from Extinction we didn't pass it on to our children in the BL bloodstream it must be fought for protected and handed on for them to do the same or one day we will spend our Sunset years telling our children and children's children what it was like once in the United States of America when men were free that is not going to happen in our generation we will fight for protect and pass on to our children and our children's children a free America or we will die trying the summer soldiers and sunshine Patriots may not go with us but having done all to stand we will stand having our loins gir about with truth and on and on and on we will overcome and I ask you one last time what are you wearing in these last few minutes I want um the worship team they're already here good I sense that many of you are dealing with a spirit of heaviness some of you are even in mourning right now maybe you lost a loved one or best friend or co-worker over sabatical uh maybe somebody died moved away you losted a job a pet you're facing a career change I don't know morning come comes from major losses in our lives others are dealing with a spirit of heaviness which can come from a variety of of ways maybe you plan to spend more time with the Lord over sabatical but one thing after another came up and you never got to do that and you're just struggling to get back you're you're just feel disconnected from the Lord and from the body of Christ you feel like there's an elephant on your chest uh you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders but the Bible says he gives us Beauty for Ashes the oil of joy for mourning the Garment of Praise for the spirit of heaviness so I want you all to stand right now if you can and let symbolically not physically everybody say not phys not physically we're going to take off our clothes okay no strippers this morning take off the old man with his deeds go ahead and do that take off off the works of darkness the weights the sins The Pride the unrighteousness the weakness the mourning the heaviness take it all off whatever you need to take off phys uh symbolically take it off right now and then I want you to replace that and put on everybody took everything off everybody stripped themselves okay now let's put on Beauty for Ashes let's put on the oil of joy for mourning let's put on the Garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness and whatever you need put it on right now so let's raise a Hallelujah and put on praise like never before you can introduce good morning you have your new clothes on yeah me too happy Sunday my favorite day of the preached about uh putting on the proper attire right that was interesting perspective on that right especially you know from a man's perspective for me to put on love I think it's harder for us as guys if I can be honest with you guys I mean to me that's how it is how about you uh for for women I think that's that's a bit easier but it was a really good reminder and so um he held up his book that he co-authored with Rick Joiner isusa fire and that is available in the morning star bookstore so I just want to really um give a little plug for that and also an upcoming event here at Morning Star um the M kba conference yeah mkb Mark Yao I got to hear Mark preach for uh well not preach he was speaking with Chris and Shanny shout out to Shanny and Bridgets their 23rd anniversary haha um
