Tad thei and Tad is finally upon us the season has begun we are recording a little bit different this week only maybe this may happen later in the season to but recording on depends how many times I get Co that's definitely oh man that's going to be very interesting for sure but we're recording this week specifically after the Sunday night game because I kind of wanted to watch the Niners home opener SL season opener like without any sort of interruptions of doing a waiver wire episode but we still want to provide you guys with our waiver wire picks for this week so that's why we're just scoring it just a date earlier but Dad we had some NFL action this week let's not let's not talk about our fantasy teams because I think it's been bad for a lot of people out there with some of the performances by some quote unquote fantasy Stars they just did not perform as well as they wanted to but let's talk about your Colts they played today very close game with do as well I guess we don't have to but it still close it was close uh first off Houston the the uniform redesigned great I do like to redesign love it um that's the only nice thing I have to say about Houston right now kind of hate them but now this was a result I was expecting Houston's better team uh and they looked every part of what I was expecting them to be they were a very well put together offense I wish I could say the same about my Indianapolis Colts is uh Richardson look I he looked he showed promises he also showed okay we need to work on some stuff so we're we're we about bom that he had to Alex Pier like that was just insan beautiful I texted you about that I'm just like oh my God that was one of the best thrs I've ever seen in my life and the rest of the game was the bad nightmare um I think the air yards on that throw was 65.3 according to like the next gen stats or whatever like insane it was so good so no so I liked what I saw my Colts um but yeah this is just this is the part about being like two years away uh and unfortunately I don't think Chris Ballard said fire me if you want to Buddy if we keep doing this you're fired and also I hate you because this is the benefit of having your team uh play on Monday night is you're in a bad mood because you're fany team loss but you quite you don't you're not in the worst mood cuz you still had to play tomorrow night so I hate you no it's true it's true but yeah um it was a rough fantasy week for a lot of people out there for sure half half my league half my League scored under 100 points this Le uh this week it was crazy it doesn't surprise me yeah it was pretty rough week for sure I think it's a result of players not playing in preseason that's that's why I'm blaming it's like this was essentially like you know shake off the rust so you know before we get in our specific player or teams or whatever I will advise people don't and this is me saying this which is wonderfully ironic do not panic do not like shake up your entire roster just sit tight hold on give another week or so and then we'll see how next week goes because yeah I think a lot of is a lot of these players shaking off R Us I think Caleb Williams is a playing on Monday Night Football so I want that completely Interruption free so that's why we're doing today's episode now um but we do have some injuries to discuss and also there's a big one that happened in that Sunday night game so actually good we were sort of like debating Ted like you know just sort of peak behind the curtain for our listeners and viewers they were like should we record before overtime or should we record during or after I had jir giz on my team and that made the ultimate call but regardless of that we have a key injury from that game that we do need to discuss but we'll get to that a little bit here first we need to jump back to the Friday night game from sou Paulo Brazil Jordan love quarterback green big hackers sustained a MCL Sprint at the end of that game and surprisingly taged it was not because of the field his leg got rolled up by Jordan Davis towards the end of that game and yeah it looked like the kneecap sort of shifted a little bit based on all the Twitter doctors out there going zooming in on the video there um but yeah it's looking like he's most likely going to miss uh somewhere between two and three weeks at least Poss it possibly could be longer but that is the minimum right now that a lot of people are saying there especially coming from the Green Bay Packers themselves um this is interesting current backup is the recently acquired how I was about say how clutch was that trade it's sort of working out for them a little bit here but yeah that is their current backup right now who will be inserted as a starter most likely but they may make a free agent signing maybe they'll swing for a veteran trade with somebody else out there in the NFL landcape there you know who's still out there what if Ryan tanhill becomes a green B Ryan tanel was a name that was brought up he is a free agent obviously so yeah it is a possibility there's a lot of jokes on Twitter especially it's like you know Malik will is losing his starting job to Ryan oh no people have already made that joke for sure so it's like it's a possibility it's a possibility but as of right now Malik Willis looks to be the starter there but Tad I mean if it's Malik Willis if it's Ryan tanah Hill I mean just how do you feel about the Packers offense you know jayen Reed had a fantastic game Josh Jacobs had a pretty good second half but I mean it's like outside of that it's just like how do you feel about this roster without Jordan love at the starter now though I don't like it at all especially with yeah with what we saw against Philadelphia because even with Jordan love in there um that offense just looked not together not in stride it's it's I'm struggling to find the right you know phrasing for it but ultimately they just didn't look as good as they looked that was not the same team that beat the Dallas Cowboys a year ago definitely not definitely not and so it was and Jaden Reed I you know shout out to the positive Jon Reed looked fantastic I think if you know and I don't think he's going to make the appearance on this week's episode so I'll give him a shout out right here jayen Reed is a huge pickup if he's still out there in your league but he was the sole bright spot I say this with I I started my week with Josh Jacobs in my Flex spot and I felt really really good about my team because he was in my Flex spot like most people have him as rb1 rb2 spot I was having a [ __ ] heart attack up until like you said the second half where he finally started coming alive I we were texting each other during the game we're like who is this 31 [ __ ] it keeps coming in here like who are you go away and it's just like I don't know it just doesn't seem like they really have their stuff together yet and that's fine for week one except if your starting quarterback goes down so if you're still offense trying and figure figure it out figure out your you know flow figure out okay this works this doesn't that's all well and good for week one again except if you're star player the if I'm not mistaken the highest paid quarterback in the NFL it's so hard I don't know with that sign this that he got today so yeah I don't think one of one of the highest paid quarterbacks there you go that's an easy one down um that just injects more questions into a offense that already had a lot of questions so in terms of the Packers and fantasy it's there I I'm not really feeling confident about a whole lot of players there no it's fair I think I probably trust the running game still probably so it's like Josh Jacobs I think is still trustworthy I think but Josh Jacobs manager I love this but the passing options do take a little bit of a hit I mean the one silver lining here is that they played on Friday so they do have a couple extra days before they play again on Sunday here in week two so I mean maybe that's a little bit extra time for Malik Willis to get ramped up or whoever the C quarterback is going to be the starter here for the Packers but if you have other options at the receiver position if you can swap out Jaden Reed Christian Watson Romeo dos um if you have Luke Musgrave or Tucker craft it's like maybe those are guys that's like okay move them to the bench possibly for at least for one week let's see this offense will look like without Jordan love but yeah little bit shaky right now with Jordan love not being the starter Don't Panic on those guys like don't drop them definitely not just bench them just bench them for a while especially yeah like you said like two three weeks that's not bad at all especially for the MCL scen yeah I think yeah just take a little bit of caution Ben up probably for one week and then see where it goes from there so talk about receivers here let's get to the receiver position we do have two big wide receiver news so let's start with the more recent one the Sunday night game a lot of people people's potentially first round pick pukaa left the game in the second quarter with the knee injury tried to come back in the second half but he went out after one play they carded him off back to the locker room so we're still waiting for reports because like I said we're recording literally right after the game it is 110 central time so we have no news as far as like the significance of the injury how much time he's going to miss whatever it is but it is something to monitor especially because there was a lot of times that during the offseason he wasn't practic ing all that much he only started practicing probably once they got closer to the start of the season when he started to ramp up a little bit more there so this is something to be uh cognizant of this is an injury that a lot of people are saying that he dealt with last season as well that kept him out a little bit of the time as well um so yeah this could be a concerning issue for the Rams offense if they're going to be without pukan nakua be concerning for your fantasy team as well if he's gonna miss significant time um but yeah in his absence I mean we saw Cooper cup resume resume his pretty solid um Demarcus Robinson looked pretty good as well and then we got that rushing touchdown by Jordan Winnington towards the end there by the Los Angeles Rams to take the lead um so I they got some good options in case panua does have to miss some time but yeah like I said for a lot of teams Tad I think they drafted him with that first round pick being that he's going to replicate what he did last year but for him to possibly be out for any significant am my time that's you know that hurts especially that return on investment right so yeah and I mean look if you're looking for a replacement I think Demarcus Robinson is your best bet right now uh because I mean God damn and we're going to get into him but like it spoiler alert but uh Matt Safford looks so damn good how is that man 35 I don't he he was going down and he threw a pass to Demarcus Robinson while he was going down directly down the middle of the field like he is insane so I think Demarcus Robinson will fill that Gap but it's not funny is not the right word but it's interesting of like everyone's concerned including mine was well what is the return of Cooper cup for pagua and now it's like I mean Cooper Cup's there to feast and so I mean like you said he got CED off the field I my my initial concerns is this is a very serious injury I don't think he's out for the season and didn't look that serious like like you said he did try to come back from it um but I could see the sidelining yeah it could be significant enough that you know if he's hurt for any extended period of time that could be a little bit of a problem for sure so um but yeah Demarcus Robinson is a good Fillin spot for the Rams especially for sure for your fantasy team as well but I don't think this Rams passing offense should miss a beat skip a beat whatever it is at all I think the offense will be fine it's more ncka I'm worried about yeah 100% 100% uh other wide receiver we're going to go to the Minnesota Vikings Jordan Addison he exited the game against the New York Giants with an apparent ankle injury early reports are saying that this injury is not major but he could potentially miss a week or two if it bothers him all week um also I think just the biggest thing with ankl injuries especially for receivers and position players is just that this may nag him all season long so this could be something that you know could creep up you know during the course of a practice week could flare up he could miss a week like down the road because of this you know injury that suffering here um Jaylen Naylor backup receiver for the Minnesota Vikes ended up did uh scored a receiving touchdown in this game um he possibly could see more targets if Jordan Addison were to miss a week but I think the biggest thing to tr with caution here is that Minnesota looked really good against the New York Giants but me and Ted were talking about this before we recorded the Minnesota Vikings play the San Francisco 409ers next week so I mean I'm not sure what's going to happen next week tomorrow excuse me against the Jets but the Niners are a contender in the NFC so they're GNA play strong and then especially playing against Sam darnold a quarterback that was on their roster last uh last year I think they'll know how to diagnose and stop him so it's like yeah I don't know how much I trust this Vikings offense to do what they did against the Giants to do against San Francisco so yeah if Addison has to miss time I'm not really trusting anybody behind him sorry I'm smiling while you're talking because I got a B report alert as you're talking uh overtime touchdown drives fantasy manager crazy yeah no [ __ ] thank you br for reminding me of that but um no I yeah I this is definitely something worth noting um and this goes into my overall point with the viking fans and um Saints fans where um you know I'm gonna pull the Aon Rogers here relax relax viking fans and Saints fans are riding high right now and I'm saying don't don't pull an Icarus don't go too high in the sun you play Carolina yeah play the New York Giants both those teams are easy favorites to be first overall being we're texting about this earlier today am goes Carolina's gonna get the first one real quick aren't they I was like yeah yeah probably and trust us we're not looking for those price young debates that we're gonna be forced to have oh my God uh it's gonna be so bad but uh point being is yeah I think Minnesota Uh I that offense wasn't trustworthy going into today and they're still not trustworthy I don't know maybe Sam darnold has found you know the key piece and I've been saying that in the offseason I'm I I feel like I've been a pretty big believer in Sam darnold ever since the Mccarthy news dropped um so I actually think he'll be fine but no this Vikings offense the the question's still out there and yeah with asen's uh entury that just keeps the question there even longer yeah exactly exactly so let's shift over to the tight end position here now tag unfortunately this hurts your fantasy team at least one of them David and joku L the game against the Dallas Cowboys with an ankle injury He's listed as questionable to return to the game he didn't return to the game um and honestly Tad there's no reason for him to return to that game because another thing that we were texted about during this NFL Sunday was like I feel confident about my Cleveland Browns finishing in the top 10 because it's just like yeah they looked horrendous against the Cowboys there and joku doesn't look to be in trouble of missing any time it doesn't seem like it's a serious injury um but in case that ankle injury does flare up and he does have to miss a little bit of time the backup is Jordan aens but I mean t regardless this Cleveland offense just looks absolutely atrocious like I mean just uh I know they played the Dallas Cowboys and they had a very elite level defense from last year I know they shifted to Mike Zimmer but just like still this Browns offense just does not give me any sort of hope that any receiving option in this Browns offense is like worth rostering right now like it's just too it John Watson is just absolutely going to [ __ ] this team for as long as he's crippling the salary cap for the Browns because in today's game Tad he went 25 for sorry 24 for 45 they had him throw it 45 times well they were behind by so much so I think that's why they had to air it out for 169 passing yards one passing touchdown and two interceptions he also added 39 rushing yards now here's the big thing Tad they moved on to DeShaun Watson they moved on from Baker Mayfield Baker Mayfield statline from today 20 he went 24 for 30 289 passing yards four passing touchdowns zero interceptions and he added 21 rushing yards as well so I mean Browns fans I'm sorry but it's just not looking good for you guys this season either it's going to be a long couple years at least because I think his the fin they finally have't out after 2027 if I remember correctly so it's like you still years away I know you still have three seasons ready to deal with this or you swallow your pride you bite the bullet and you do something that Denver did where it's like you know what we don't want you Russell Wilson we are going to eat the law go it's like I really think that's what's gonna end up Happ maybe they'll have to go in that direction but just yeah Ted going back to the original point I'm not trusting anybody in this Browns offense like I mean maybe the running game Jerome for did get a rushing touchdown towards the end there but still the passing offense with DeShaun Watson is just it's hard to trust any I mean yeah exactly and I I stopped paying attention to that game in the third quarter but at that point they showed some stat that Mari Cooper only had like one catch for six yards at that point that's [ __ ] Amari Cooper um I know Jerry Judy got another you know trash touchdown who gives a [ __ ] um it was I will say it was a good touchdown it was it was a good catch it was a good catch nothing that that that's nothing gets Jerry Judy it was more of the game situation um but no I again with like kind of what you were talking about we could spend a whole podcast on this but what happened to Deshawn Watson because there was a play I don't know how much were you watching Red Zone how were you watching I was I was watching red so if you were watching Red Zone you saw the same play I did where there was a play where the pocket kind broke down on DeShawn Watson which by the way their offensive line does not look good either they had a couple guys from the starting offensive line out so that play okay that explains a whole hell of a lot um but he was kind of scrambling out of the pocket jhaa Watson and he threw a pass and this is the reason I remember this play is because it was a it it it was a seemingly good like make something out nothing play it was he threw a pass to David nooku and it fell like two yards short yeah and I think ironically maybe the one good call he made all day I think it was Brady that said this was uh you know really nothing for the Brady shade yeah no it wasn't that great that's probably the reason why I was watching Red Zone instead the actual exactly um but it was either Brady or whoever the main broadcaster was said wow that's a throw that old Deshawn would have made and he's absolutely right of like the kind of improvised type of play like I don't know what happened it was so like truly I guess the year off really did throw like it makes a huge difference we talked about this with Levon bell too where just like you thought he'd come back and be just flying with the Jets after take that year off but no it makes a difference especially at the quarterback position too is just like yeah you can't really take a year off that's it's hard to do and come back and be the same guy it's just yeah I feel so bad that's why sh extension is that I was like dude you were a good Ty could you imagine joku on like the oh my God could you imagine if he like succeeded Travis Kelce in Kansas City he would absolutely blow up that dude's a physical freak insane but no I I I swear to God like this is 100% truthful I never believe whatever's people in this includes the Cubs this includes um who's the other the Red Sox this includes like every franchise that you know Detroit when they're like we curse curses aren't real but but I'm looking at the Browns like [ __ ] curses might be real yeah it's tough to be a brown those booze in Cleveland hurt I'm not even a Cleveland Fan I was like God I I feel those booze I'm like I feel you so sticking to the same game Tad the other tight ends for the Dallas Cowboys Jake Ferguson field yeah he left the game with apparent knee injury um people are saying that he's avoiding the ACL so it's nothing too serious but it's looking like he could miss a couple weeks the backup is former second round pick out of the University of Michigan Luke scoon maker he would step up in Fergus placemaker um overall though Dak Prescott targeted the tight end only five times and that was before Jake Ferguson left the game so I don't know how much they'll use Luke SK maker in their next game here going forward here but just yeah in case you need a spot tight end spot maybe you could look at Luke sco maker this uh spot uh Direction but just like yeah I don't know how much I trust that because yeah he seemed to lock in with Ferguson I don't know if we'll see that as much with sco maker though you know I I said before of like you know uh Saints and um who's the other team Saints and Vikings fans you know relax I'll say the same thing for Cowboys fans uh relax I don't I don't have a read on the Cowboys quite yet because that that was such a painful performance by Cleveland so I can't really give too much analysis on this but yeah with sco maker because you played Cleveland not because your team is that good exactly exactly and so I think it's more of a sco maker is an interesting name to keep your eye on sure um but I would not be you know rushing at him on the waivers right now I agree with that I agree with that so those are the significant injuries that may cause players to miss some time the only injury that'll bring up really quickly but it seems like he's going to be perfectly fine Kenneth Walker I third I guess on one of the tackles that uh he suffered um suffered an abdominal strain but after the game media asked him he said he's goingon to be perfectly fine so there's nothing to worry about there so um also on a grade from a to F Seahawks Throwbacks I love the seaw like I hate Seattle but I love the throw like I hate Seattle but it's like I love your uni Peak 80s early 90s look like the apparel too because they kept flashing the grub of the uh you know the the booth or whatever doing the calls for the player and he's we this cool retro Seattle Seahawks sweatshirt I was like God I love it but I hate seatt war games it's awesome yeah no bully me is like yeah probably close to 10 out of 10 like I love the Seattle out of 10 for me it's pretty Sol so good also Denver's doing unforms like them yeah they're not bad they're not bad uh all right T so we're talking about possibly avoiding L sco maker maybe keep an eye on him to see how they involve in the offense but let's get to our waiver wire picks for this week especially here week two uh so we try our best to get to guys that are rostered only like about 60% or lower uh in my case I like to go even further I like to go 50% or lower in your ESPN and Yahoo leagues here Tad so we sort of split the position up we're doing our W wire epis a little bit different than we did last year kind of you know same model that we're doing with our start sit episodes that we'll do at the end of the week here so we kind of split the positions here so Tad I know you went with running back tight end and defense but we'll start at the quarterback position here first and we'll go in order there so quarterback I got the quarterback position here um I'm went with Matthew Stafford and this is purely because the matchup that he has they're playing the Arizona Cardinal this coming week in two games against the Arizona Cardinals last yeah last season Ted Stafford totaled 455 passing yards five passing touchdowns and had a 7.18 completion percentage against them the Cardinals just allowed 34 total points to the Buffalo Bills this week and they allowed 222 passing yards to Josh Allen in week one in this game against the Lions on Sunday night Matthew Stafford threw for 317 yards he threw the ball 49 times and this is before overtime because if you saw the game uh viewers and listeners out there Detroit had the ball all of so it's like they didn't even have at overtime so those are just his four quarter stats for the reg for the regulation part of the game he threw one touchdown he also threw one interception but just like yeah I like Stafford to sort of Le get gain on those numbers take it over into an Arizona team that just has a very weak defense I think they'll be very susceptible to a divisional matchup here with the Los Angeles Rams so Matthew Stafford if he's available and you're streaming quarterbacks like I'll probably swapping out Kurt Cousins for Matthew stford if he's available I'm going in that direction I think you should too sorry I missed it did you say like what what percentage is he rostered in I can look it up if you don't have it it's less than 50% I can't remember the actual number less that's shocking that's shocking to me because I 100% agree with you I think this is a because you know usually with you know fantasy quarterbacks is ear in the season you get oh it's new system oh he's with the new team get Kurt Cousins situation that absolutely [ __ ] you if you have Drake London as a receiver sorry sorry what about the guy who has Kirk Cousins rostered like that was even worse for me [ __ ] the guy that has Kyle Pitts by the way you're the only Falcons fan who happy today um but point being is you avoid all these unknowns with ma Matthew Stafford where he knows the system you know what quarterback you're getting it's you avoid all the questions it's just it's funny is I swear to God I mean this is like we always expect it's the Tom Brady syndrome where we're like he's 36 he's got to stop being good at some point it's like it's stop now yeah it's got to stop now it's not stopping because like I said earlier in this episode is like that throw Marcus Robinson especially stood out to me because he got drilled by that Detroit Lions defensive lineman he still nail nailed the throw for a first down it's crazy I truly believe that you know BR played till he was what 45 I think that Stafford has that in him unless because I know he's had some hip issues some hand issues unless an injuries derails it I think Safford is gonna play till he's like 44 or 45 he just has that kind of that that Vibe so now if Safford is there and you're like me who who has you know who started Justin Herbert today and godamn was that a mistake uh yeah s unfortunately safford's taken my league but if he wasn't he would be at the very top of my G list there you go I like it all right so let's get to the running back position here Chad so who you got at the running back position this [ __ ] because I have Derrik Henry in our laf league I believe it's our LF League I have him right uh I believe you do have him in the LF leag is it the El it is okay no you're right sorry I'm I'm running four different teams it's very hard to keep track of them believe me I'm running six different ones so confused God bless you um that was very texting to me God bless you um but so I started derck Henry Thursday night starts I'm like all right Thursday Night Football is back who is this guy because he kept coming in play after play after play and that is Justice Hill let me tell you there's no justice when it comes to Justice Hill that's son of a [ __ ] he out snapped he actually played more snaps than Derrick Henry 43- 37 okay so he had six catches for 53 yards this has the makings to be Jaylen Warren to Naji Harris I think that's GNA be the type of relationship we see as this season unfolds of you know like yeah Derrick Henry deserves more attention but he's not going to get it because Jus as I'm not even saying this is a wrong play by the this is the thing about fantasy football it's a right play by the Ravens schematically because Justin s is obviously a better pass catcher he's obviously faster than Derrick Henry he's obviously a better route Runner but I want my Derrick Henry touches they give me my touches but unfortunately if you're going to be passing the ball a lot which it looks like they are Justice Hill is better option so I think he's going to remain a you know main stay in this offense I think he's going to be kind of Boomer bust depending on how the passing game is working that week but if you look at you know all the running backs left on the you know waiver wire a lot of them are either opportunistic where was like okay yeah had really good week one but is that going to continue I'm not so sure tank bsby being a big one I do not recommend picking up tank Bigby I think etn uh showed that he is still pretty firmly in that driver seat but I think a lot of people are gonna pick him up because he had a big weak one I think Justice Hill is the guy you pick up because SCH again schematically he works his way in that offense more consistently tank Bigsby had like two good runs that there's the difference so I Justice Hill I would like him to be a continued main state in this offense yeah I think the big thing that sort of gives me more promise with Justice Hill as opposed to some other waiver wire running backs is that exactly like I said is that seemed like in every passing situation and this could either work in the favor of the baltim war RS or it could work against them too because they brought this up during the Pod the broadcast excuse me where they were like podcast they're doing podcast during broadcast not the podcast the broadcast during the actual game they brought this up I think cols were said it where it's like it seems pretty obvious that's like when Justin Hills in the uh in the game they're going to pass the ball most likely when Derrick Henry's in the game they're most likely going to run it so it's like yeah maybe they're sort of setting that up so they could sort of mix that up later down the season down the road or whatever but it's like as of right now pretty much that game signified to me that yes Justin Hill has a stake in this offense whether it's just pass receptions I'm pretty sure he'll get some you know passing work towards the goal line as well to score some touchdowns too but just yeah regardless of what everybody thought where you know Derrick Henry is just going to be you know the Workhorse running back for the Ravens I think this is their way to sort of manage the load with him too because I have no doubt that I think probably Baltimore is thinking that's like you know we have a good shot to make the playoffs especially out of the AFC North as well based on what we saw from Cincinnati Cleveland and Pittsburgh so it's like they kind of in the best shape right now so it's like you know what we need to make sure Derrick Henry can go full load once we're in the playoffs maybe this is their way so maybe this is their way to sort of manage that early where was like you know what I think we should be okay we'll involve Justin Hill a little bit more towards the beginning part of the season then the second half we'll see a lot more Derrick Henry for sure but yeah I think 100% if you have Justice Hill and you have a spot that you need to pick up a guy he's a guy that I would want to pick up as well he's got involvement in this offense and then another guy at the receiver position that I think has involvement in the offense unfortunately things did not work out quite as well as I wanted it to it's your guy Adan I Mitchell with the Indianapolis cold St you say sorry is this an ad or a drop this is an ad this is an ad this is an ad yeah because believe me Al on this one Alec Pierce will steal the headlines when it comes to the Colts offense and just how well they did in this week's game because I mean just amazing he only had three catches dead he had 125 receiving yards and a touchdown plus already talk can jump as it turns out it's aaz well actually for that pass where he uh where the 60 he kind of jump we're gonna include it that's how crazy that throw was it was so on time right in like he didn't have to jump at all like that's how amazing of a throw that was uh but the biggest take me back to 12 hours ago that was such a simpler time but the biggest thing for me is to why I like ABY Mitchell more than Alec Pierce as far as longterm and why I want to pick him up off the Waiver Wires is that he had the second most Targets on the team behind only obviously Michael Pitman Jr and I think the biggest thing and you texted me during these times too and I was just like yeah these are easy bses he had five targets he only caught one of them but two of those targets two of those targets one of them should have been a walk-in touchdown the other one should have been a significant gain if not getting them possibly another touchdown so it's like he had opportunities Anthony richon just unfortunately just you know overthrew him or just you know had to throw off platform whatever it was it was just some bad throws that led to Ed I Mitchell not getting more receptions than the targets that he was getting here so I expect Mitchell to build more chemistry of Richardson I expect Richardson to sort of learn from what he did in this game and improve on it as the season goes along here um I do just exed a little bit of caution here because we have Josh DS who's currently out but once he comes back discovering from his high ankle spray maybe that will throw things into a little bit of a flux with Alec Pierce now having a good game maybe he secured himself as that deep threat I don't know how it's all going to shape up but I still like ad I Mitchell to sort of gain a strangle hold of this sort of second receiver option behind Michael Pitman Jr as the season progresses I laugh because it hurts um yeah little painful I guess yes I swear to God listeners and viewers this is a true story is uh yeah the ad Mitchell would be touchdown we were texting about that and I texted him I texted him ear go you know he text me like oh did you see the Richardson play I was like the overthrow or the run because he made a good run yeah but he also overthrew him and as we're texting he goes overthrow as we're texting Richardson overthrows him again and then gets picked off and I just text it back oh [ __ ] me like that was that was what today was for cols fan I was just like oh that was really a [ __ ] where it's just like ah man um yeah I was disappointed in Mitchell's lack of involvement in the offense but I wasn't surprised um because and this is where my concern comes with this pick is I think the Colts have a high potential to be the new uh Saints of fantasy football where there are a lot of mouths to feed on that offense you got Jonathan Taylor you got Alec Pierce you got uh Michael Pitman I had Michael Pitman manager texting me all day today like what the hell's happening and I I was I was telling him I was like I told you to stay away from Pitman because I I I knew that Pitman was gonna struggle yeah I told you here's the thing though it wasn't just you it was there a lot of people that I had two Michael Pitman guys texting me and be like what the hell is happening and I'm like I told you don't do it because there's so many mouths to feed on this offense and like the Saints you know back in the 2010s it's not just mouss for the sake of production they're good players I was you know I was telling a m earlier today I like Alec Pierce a lot I was afraid he was going to be the odd man out and today he proved how good he is but like you said Josh you know I almost said Josh Pierce Josh DS is coming back Alec Pierce is still there ad Mitchell is going to continue to be a part of this offense it's like I don't know if I trust any of them to really be a consistent you know Point getter for me it'll be very interesting to see how this season develops yeah it'll be very interesting for sure but that's also a good situation for cols fan to sort of be in where just like notice how I'm not yeah notice how I'm not cursing or like yelling my way through that I'm like oh [ __ ] we got too many weapons I'm okay with that also you throw to the fact that John Taylor did not have a fantastic game either like it was Bey yre so it's like especially when games where he's gonna go off too that's like they're probably not gonna have to pass as much either so it's like yeah there's a lot of balls in the air but it's just like I still like ad I Mitchell it's like the two biggest steals went to the Colts Lou latu and AD I Mitchell I was just like that is fantastic building blocks right jul Julius Brent had a good interception I know F [ __ ] by the way that should have been an interception it was a good attempt it was a good attempt for sure there so all right Ted we're unfortunately not talking about the Colts tight ends because they have yeah no no tight ends essentially dton King Kade I know you didn't do well today I hear in Indianapolis is lovely this time trade for David and Joker dad call I will take that but who's the guy off the waiver bar that you like in the tight position look it's the obvious pick but we got to talk about it cuz where the hell did this guy come from and I will actually say with I did that for the joke but you and I were both big fans of him coming out of the draft I loved him coming out of Coastal Carolina you and I are both fully validated because people were calling us crazy they're like this guy at Coastal Carolina were like dude both of us were like he is good Isaiah likely who is rostered in ESPN leagues by the way in only 10% of leagues yeah that dude he going to be a lot higher after this week oh he is going to be the ad of the week as he should be because we were so concerned this offseason I understand it with old Taylor Swift of it all of when is Travis Kelce going to retire when is he going to get old and we forgot to look at Mark Andrews and I don't I I you watched the entirety of the game on Thursday right yeah I think it was who broadcasted that game again NBC yeah thank you like who were the broadcasters oh Taro and Collinsworth okay Collinsworth that's what I thought okay so there was a play I would be interested to see if you remember this where Collinsworth was like look at this cut by Mark Andrews it's so good it was like the slowest cut I've ever seen in my life and I was just like that impresses you I think it's because he's still recovering because remember he suffered that hip injury with that hip draw track which is now obviously banned almost like 35 years old too it's nothing against Mark Andrew Well guy against Mark Andrews but point being is while we were all waiting for Travis Kel to get old Mark Andrews got old while we weren't looking and is they likely it didn't surprise me once I saw the type of explosive to this espec especially on the one touchdown he had where he was running full speed down the sideline stopped guy misses the tackle and he trots in the end zone I'm like oh that's why you're D he pulled Lamar Jackson he did they show high school days I'm like this is the exact thing that Lamar Jackson did no that's exactly what it was and so it just makes so much more sense of why likely is becoming more and more involved uh in his offense and I believe his third year in uh with the team this his third year now and here's the crazy set he out targeted not caught more passes but he out targeted both Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews this D was a focal point of the offense yeah let me pull up his stats real quick nine catches for 111 yards and a touchdown let's keep in mind that should be 10 catches and two touchdowns but the NFL is lame and kind a toe tip as out of bounds which is complete nonsense but whatever we'll ignore that um I think that well do I think he's gonna be that involved in the offense week to week no I think there will be weeks where you know he kind of lays a dud for you but I think he will stay remained enough to remain fantasy relevant especially for a tight end youve got to remember tight ends are very very like a good Dependable tight end is very rare to come upon and I think that this is a guy who's so athletic and a offense that clearly uh prioritizes athleticism that they're gonna find ways to use him so I think Isa likely I'm not seeing as a flash in the pan I think this is going to be a season long thing I think the biggest thing as to why I'm a fan of Isaiah likeley is that after Mark Andrew got hurt last year like they were still going to Isaiah likely a lot especially during the playoff run two and then in the offseason I read reports that uh John Harbaugh was like we want to involve both tight ends in our offense I was like I think that's just coach speak they're probably gonna go Mark Anders and every so often they'll thr isaia likely but yeah in this game it purely showed me that just like yeah they're still easing Mark Anders into the offense they clearly went to Isaiah likely a lot of the time it was like a lot of Z flowers and a lot of Isaiah likely and so it's like I think Lamar trust this guy as well so it's like I think this week was a little bit of anomaly I don't think a lot of people expected him to have this grade of a week and I don't think this is going to repeat on a daily basis I don't expect 10 targets for him a week like that's ex but these sorts of games Could Happen down the road I very much agree with you on that second point where you're just like he is going to be involved in this offense very similar to what we're talking about with Justice Hill it's like yeah we'll see some games where Mark Andrew will be the old Mark Andrew but then there's going to be some other games well we're going to see old Mark Andrews like that's the thing that we're going to see here so Isaiah likely is still very relevant he is 100% going to be everybody's number one priority ad at the tight end position we've talked about it so many times the tight end is a little bit of a harder position to add through the waiver wire so if you're in a league where it's like you have to pay for free H budget this is one of those you know situations where it's like spend majority of your budget to get this guy because I think he could be beneficial either at the tight end position or even you run tool tight ends and you run a tight end and a guy the flex at the ti position as well so this guy will be involved in the Baltimore Ravens offense for sure and by the way again we're recording this on Sunday night keep your and this this and I'm stealing from a mer here this prediction may or may not pay off but keep your eye on Tyler Conlin Tyler Conlin's Monday night performance is a big one I'm looking out for because if he blows up that could be another that's actually a more consistent option I think is G be yeah much more interesting but he'll be interesting so yeah Tyler Conlin if you're you know watching this on Monday night then keep an eye on him exactly exactly all right T this's close us out we got our kickers and our defense here so what do you like as the defense were waiver option this week I can't believe I'm going to say this uh I like the Patriots defense I don't doubt you man I can't believe I'm saying it's weird they look really good also I totally thought Drake May won that battle when job brette came out I was like really yeah I was like I thought that was Drake may also my bold prediction for Fantasy rookie quarterbacks not looking good it is not looking good again yeah because you had JJ Mar the ini he's out for the year now mayting or it'll look that much more impressive if Drake May does come up that's where my mind went to like well if he comes in like week four and kills him gon look like a goddamn genius um but bot mean the Patriots look good man they did they looked really good especially because it was funny watching uh I forget which Red Zone guy we we actually may have separate Red Zone guys but whoever my Red Zone guy is I think it's Hansen um SC Hans I think he's the only guy no there are two Red Zone guys yeah it depends on the service you're using um but it was funny watching him like try to read through the Patriots roster be like ah this guy just got a pass it was just like ah plus your soul um but man they look good I don't think that was just like a flukish win the Patriots look really good and and again maybe I'm overreacting here but I get why D Mayo was hired now that looked like a very well together put together team that understood the responsibilities no one was trying to like no one was looking around like what do I do like it was a very kind of build the classic Bill bich approach and now I'm like Ah that's why you hired the former player okay but point being is um a well disciplined defense can get you points and uh they're going against the Seattle Seahawks and you want to talk about not well disciplined the Seahawks Demers show won that game the Seahawks just completely look out of place uh G Smith was running for his life out there I don't blame J Smith at all he didn't have a very good game but he was also like I said running for his life for 90% of that game game that offensive line and I understand there are injuries among the offensive line I believe Abraham Lucas is out for the foreseeable future but my God even then that offensive line looked terrible the only bright spot seatt should be walking away from is as you point out Kenneth Walker I third he looked fantastic he's good I think he's a he's a fantasy guy you should be going after in trades you know no for no particular reason um but otherwise and they gave up not one but two safeties in the same half against the Denver Broncos and look nothing against Denver but like Denver's defense is not that good I just think that Seattle's offensive line is that bad so against a offensive line or sorry offensive line got say defensive line that was able to keep Joe burrow and Jamar Chase who surprisingly played in check uh and Zach Moss as why I know Zach M scored a touchdown but still um they kept a Cincinnati offense as explosive in check now they're going against a offense with even a worst offensive line I think the Patriots if you're in a streaming mode already with defense which I am they're a very good defense to keep an eye on especially because not they're not gonna be at the top of a lot of people's list so you can even wait until after waiver wire day to get them that's fair that's fair um I'm gonna go with the kicker waiver ad here and this is the kicker that scored the most points as far as the position is concerned Chris bosswell with the Pittsburgh Steelers I just I I need to point something out real quick sure Kai farbar hit three not one not two but three field goals over 50 yards and Boswell still outscored them well the problem being is because Chris Boswell is the only reason the Pittsburgh Steelers scored today scored all 18 points for them yeah if it wasn't for him they would have zero points but here's a fun fact Tad true or false Justin Fields had more passing guards than Kirk cousin today oh goddamn that's tough I'm gonna go false no it's true had more passing guards than kir cous that just sort of speaks to the fact that just like what were they both at like 160 no they're both at like 150 that change or something around there so yeah it was pretty bad so like that just sort of speaks to how this game sort of turned out both offenses were very much sputtering outside of like ban Robinson's like yeah it was very rough on both sides of off drakeon two and a half points yeah two and a half but I think just the biggest thing is just like yeah with the sort of you know question marks at the quarterback position for the Pittsburgh Steelers whether it's Justin Fields whether Russell Wilson is gonna be come back coming back and healthy it's just like I don't trust either of them it just did not look sharp as far as passing the ball they can't run the ball consistently enough to be like you know a grounded pound like Detroit did against Los Angeles today it's like it can't do that the same thing that Pittsburgh it can't do that can't replicate that same thing that Detroit is doing and so yeah Chris bosel is gonna get a lot of work because the teams that they face in the next couple weeks they face the Broncos I feel like it go either way in that game you got the Chargers I feel like Chargers to have a strong defense that run the ball well then they play your Colt so I think those are three games where it's like I have a feeling Pittsburgh will get close enough but I think they may have to settle for World field goals or we'll see something similar to what we saw today where it's like if it wasn't for bosswell Pittsburgh wouldn't score at all so yeah I think if you're streaming kickers or if you just want to replace your kicker I'd go to Chris bwell is that game in Indianapolis or in Pittsburgh that one I didn't check I just saw because if it's in Indianapolis that has a very as we as I pointed out before is a very kicker Stadium because Fairburn three plus yeah 50 yarders so no I completely agree and the whole thing you I think people maybe saying especially Steelers fans like we'll get better when Russ comes back will you though will you like you got worse yeah exactly because yeah Fields was like running for his life that whole time and that's kind of the whole point it's the ability to run that's yeah exactly exactly it's like Fields can run I actually I got in this argument with a friend yesterday where I was like you know we were arguing over how to anticipate you know a college quarterback being good shour godamn it by the way godamn shour uh but anyway we were debating this I brought up Justin fields and I was like yeah he's benched for Russell Wilson and my friend goes well he's starting tomorrow I go yeah because Russell Wilson has like calf of a corpse and yeah so like you bring that guy back in I think this offense is just gonna continue to be like me me yeah and you know what and I'm sorry but because he's not the core focus of this but I just have to bring it up I'm convinced the curse like the the curse necklace on this offense get Naji Harris the hell off your team I'm I'm going to continue to scrunch until he is off the Steelers but like until then the offense won't be bad I never once said the Steelers offense is bad but just me hey so but the best part of a offense is the kicker is more than I very much trust Chris Boswell the most to score the points for the pittsb Steelers reable future yeah exactly exactly
