Pregame [Music] welcome to fville and W Pig Su as the Arkansas Razer backs are ready to take the field little gets the blood boiling white like a rivalry game barbs shots trash talk things that go on throughout the week will now all be settled on this field as we'll see the number three team in the country the Texas la report taking on another team from the SEC the Arkansas Razer backs for EA Sports college football I'm reys Davis joined here in the booth as always by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer guys let's tee this one [Applause] up and the Longhorns will put total 1st quarter leather and we'll get started and he takes this from inside the five he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 the Razer backs offense will start this game off these rivalry games can really get the blood pumping and we'll see who can manage their emotions best early everyone's been waiting for this game right you know both of these teams have had this game circled all the way back to the beginning of the off season so you got to be able to play Under Control with passion with energy with hatred because it's a rivalry game but keep your emotions in check and making sure I'm controlling what I can control what can they pull out of the Playbook here on second and long from the 17 they'll keep it on the ground picks his way ahead pick up of three and gets it to the 20 yd line they have had to wear that beat down since the last time these two met Jesse and they've been talking about it for a long time they were absolutely the players the coaches the fans you know David coming into this game this time they want to put out a much better performance oh there's nothing worse the coaches are riding you all week leading up into this game reminding you showing the Clips in the locker room you know you failed you want to come out and get a great start in this football game early yeah the offense was trying to go draw make it look like pass but I'll tell you the linebackers weren't fooled they came down hard quickly got into the back field and got the tackle and the Razer backs line up to punt it away they'll have to punt for the first time this afternoon he will signal for the fair Catch and take it just inside the 35 so the Texas Longhorns offense will have its first possession of the game one thing to watch can this guy get in the quarterback's head and make him take a Peak at the rush David dang Skippy that's what you want to do you want to make this guy a little bit more human and not as much of a game breaker at the quarterback spot get some pressure on and hit him a few times he's one of the best quarterbacks in the country but he can't hurt you if he's laying on his back and this defensive end can put him there [Applause] often didn't get much done on that first play of the drive it's second and 11 maybe some confusion on the snap count there that's maybe what caused the false start either way offense is penalized so the decision has been made and the coach will take the penalty this crowd going to try to make life miserable for these guys the give to the bat they make the stop but not before he takes a chunk out of what they need to move the sticks and runs like that are like body blows in a boxing match four five six yd gains early turn into 20 30 40 yard gains later they really wear down defenses and they test their physic out better find the a pluged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down grabbed over the middle it's golden and he's not going to get there the defense Stands Tall and makes the stop they' hope to be able to pick up enough after the catch but a good stop leaves them with the fourth from short really good job by the defense being physical understanding the situation in the game the ball's going to come out quick you know that go make the tackle Force the fourth down fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way boy they had a chance to track that thing down but it bounces into the end zone for a Touchback and Arkansas ready to send out this offense he'll try to pop the draw and he runs through one tackle and picks up a few well it's plays like that that'll help this offense stay in rhythm ball game long if you can have that kind of success on first down running the football it just opens up your entire Playbook moving forward they can really be aggressive after that last play it's second and three looking to pass it's green quick strike complete they'll Mark him down at the 37 it's a 10yd gain well that was a dart right there he's going to give Arkansas a chance because in the old days in the you had to run the football if you were going to win championships today you better be able to get it done through the air when you think of all the great play callers in this league and all the highman trophy winners this league has seen at the QP position in recent years you better be able to do it throwing the ball this guy I think gives Arkansas a chance with his arm with the catch it's Armstrong at the 40 there he goes still on his feet just what they were looking for a huge explosive play and they're inside the 15 at the 13 ydd line the Razer backs are in the hurry up the back goes in motion from the Red Zone looking for a space gets it out fast they get it down to the seven on that pass play in Prime position for a score just a quick Rhythm throw there and really good use of the tight end yeah good use of the big fellow I mean go through your progressions real quick you can't find anything get the easy gain don't take a shot down the field all the time take those shots later but take those easy wideopen opportunities to get some positive chunks he bullies his way all the way down to the 5 yd line really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal they're going to go to the air on Third and short pressure coming couldn't find a man and just had to throw it away to avoid a negative play Third and short in college football today you see so much more pass than you used to the offense stays aggressive and I think they stay aggressive because they know they're in field goal range they got that three in their back pocket and now on fourth down they'll try a field goal and this one ought to be nice and easy a 22 yd attempt it's good he could have hit a string right in the middle of the uprights there and with that they break the seal on the scoring it's three nothing [Music] they'll kick it away after putting up a field goal on that last [Applause] drive on the run from inside his own five powers through and he did a good job bobbing it weaving and finding a little bit of Running Room on that return on the ground it's maxter and they picked up nine on first down it'll bring up second and short after I know it's sexy to thr the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of Gams they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points nyd pickup on first down and now they can take a shot on second and short out of the gun the running back has it and he won't quite get there but boy after that pick up just a few inches to go for the first and array of possibilities [Applause] [Music] here now staring at a third and short from the 40 they'll try to bully their way for the first they were all over him nowhere to go as that third down play turned into a disaster it's amazing how play by a defensive end in the back field can really swing the momentum not only of a series but of a game sometimes all you're trying to do is create negative plays to get them behind the sticks a little bit to get those sacks to get those tackles for a losses you see so much stunting in college football up front with the defensive line because you know once you get one of those plays you got an offense right where you want the Hogs send that offense back onto the field and to settle for the ch shot field goal last time Jesse they' love for this one to pay off bigger yeah it just comes down to execution too did a nice job out in the field stalled a little bit once they got down to the goal line so they just need to be a little bit more crisp here yeah and listen I I think the first part was the most important part you got to put the drive together first to get down there now when we get down there focus on execution and getting six points he's got it again good blocking good running pick up of six out to the 30 offensive linemen love to run the power why you run power you run power then you can play action you don't want that defense to be sitting there saying it's a pass it's a pass having to pass block every play you got to keep defenses off balance this is where you make the money on the drivve ball at the 30 it's third and short wide receiver now comes in motion to the ground to try to pick up the first he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set of downs well the defense knew coming into this one it was going to be a physical game guys are going to have to be great at the point of attack and get off blocks and make tackles they couldn't stop the offense from picking up that first end on that run play and the Razer backs have it with a first and 10 oh and they'll try to catch him with a pass gets it out quickly slammed to the ground but not before he gets the first down remember some of the years when the Hogs spent a lot of time in the wild cat just running it you don't have to do that with this guy quarterback and it just makes you less predictable right you got a running back in there you know you're not going to throw it very much but when they do have the ability to push the ball down the field and get some guys out of the box it makes this offense even more exciting not a whole lot of room there three yards maybe second and seven the biggest lie college football coaches tell is nameless faceless opponent David game like this you know their name and you know their face you know him well and it does mean just a little bit more because it's bragging rights like the rivalries matter so much all throughout the year all the fans talking about this game in particular that's why it means more and that's why these players will be jacked out of their minds all right well the offense here they're trying to get this run game established they obviously don't break off a long run there but they're just trying to find their footing at this point third down conversions are a huge stat and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off on the run it's green can't make the connection on third down thanks to that tough hard noosed pass defense and now it's Fourth Down the Razer backs will bring the punt team onto the field this will be the second time they've had to kick it away and it looks as if there will be no return here as the punch goes out of bounds The Long Horn sending the offense back onto the field the last time we saw this offense we had to look quick it was a three and out Jesse he just had no rhythm in that last drive so someone's going to have to step up and make a play David and get this thing going yeah let's find some juice find your guy find those plays that you know you can run inside out forward backwards get some first downs get some positive momentum [Applause] they've got them B deep in their own end In This Crowd trying to help keep them there looking to throw on second down excellent coverage and good use of the hands to knock it away you know as an offense when were trying to complete these tunnel screens you're going to have to be able to negotiate some of these Defenders near the line of scrimmage they're all looking to swat it away job by the defense there third and 10 still backed up inside their own 20 this drive hasn't really gotten started from the gun wants to pass throws to the wide out complete downfield finally run out of bounds but he has this offense rolling with a first down and listen the defense knew coming into this one they were going to Target him early and often he is a weapon and there's no mystery where the quarterback's going to be looking on critical down and distances let's see how they are able to cover him throughout the rest of this game but Jet Sweep pass he's there to make the Stop and they threw it in reverse losing yardage on that play got to give the defense credit watching film anticipating they knew that this offense had this play in their back pocket they knew buted of this wide receiver in different ways they were going to try to get him involved everybody on defense on the same page playing together I love it hand off from the shotgun he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three a great job by the whole defense but how about the little B defensive back throwing his face in the fan I ain't scared I don't just cover guys I make tackles de Rising as the crowd get behind this defense on third down looking for a man it's ERS fires left it's caught and how about that what the doctor always ordered an explosive play to the 40 that's the end of the quarter and Arkansas has the lead guys let's have a look at the stats as we play one period they've swapped into the field and we're ready to go in the second the Longhorns are moving quickly down the 2nd quarter field off the play fake on first down strong pass rush gets to the quarterback and they get him at the 46 when it's a playaction pass that quarterback really has to sell the Fate he can't tell his offensive H getting beat right away while he's selling the fake he had no shot big loss on the last play threatens to knock this drive off course it's second and 16 snagged in the middle it's Bond and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up one of the things that makes this guy so dangerous is how good he is after the catch if he's got any space around him he's able to burst he's able to make people miss and get extra yards for his offense you saw it right there the long horns will hustle to the line line he'll put the tight end in motion using the quick game and a good job in coverage there as they stop it after just a few this quarterback right now is in a Groove and he's doing a nice job in PRN he's reading the coverage and he's getting an idea of where he wants to go with the football that's why the ball's coming out of his hands so quickly that's why he seems like he's in a great R the Longhorns are threatening in the Red Zone receiver on the Move gets the touch pass got some room headed to the goal line touchdown Long Horn and they'll put that scoreboard operator to work and put six on the board backed up in the shadow of their own goal post no problem when you start in the black Zone inside your own 20 coming out it's difficult you can give up a safety you get worried about that but the offense puts a great drive together great job executing great job getting a touchdown they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point makes it seven to three that makes the score Texas s almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown from inside the 10 here he comes not a lot of space to be found good Hustle by the coverage team and they stop him at the 21 and Arkansas ready to send out this offense they've been pretty much stifled on offense so far David only able to muster three points in their previous three Dr and you got to find a way to open this up and create some explosive plays like the passing game is obviously the easiest way Jesse put more speed on the field find those guys down the field you know they're frustrated too because they felt like there were some matchups they could take advantage of to get some points on the board early in this one they just haven't been able to connect on those opportunities but I like David's idea maybe move some guys around and see if you can create some better one-on-one matchups got the Quick Pass and I love working with slot receivers new so much of that it's about matchups right I can put a fast guy in that slot maybe get him matched up on a linebacker or a safety I like working those guys in those matchups favorable for the offense for sure got some of the work done on first now let's see what they have on second down here's the handoff they'll get the first down it's spotted on the 49 Bo he shows you his speed and his power on that run as far as I can think back to Arkansas football always comes down to being able to run the football on offense it's about grinding and wearing the opponent down they always seem to be able to recruit outstanding athletes at that position this guy is no different coming out on first down with the play fake a strike downfield offense on the move a big play there gets it to the 30 the Hogs getting it done through the air evoking memories of Ryan Mallet and that's what the fans fans of Arkansas want to see they've always got that physical ground game they always want to have a little bit of balance and when they get that balance they get that offense cooking they get everybody pretty excited you might even get a woo pig soe trying play action unleashes one deep fires and picked off I love when people start to understand what we're doing defensively if they're going to pass the football and that's where they're going to live well I'm going to live in dime going to bring more defensive backs on the field so I can cover more of these speed guys that they have out there great job by the defensive back breaking on the football making the int making the DC look very smart and here come the horns they've got it again on offense David they love to do what they did last time and put this one in the end zone you ain't lying they did a great job the offense was clicking everything well Palmer they execute and got the touchdown and they really were in a nice Rhythm as well I'd love to see that here on the next drive too just keep doing what you're doing everything seems to be working and you seem to have this defense on their he listen to this crowd just shaking the girders of this place trying to help their defense the give from the gun just could didn't get away from the tackle man oh man that ball carrier was just shut down and I tell you what they need some push up front too right they got to move those defensive linemen out of the way at least create a hole so your running back has a chance not there he didn't have any you've got a third and manageable backed up in your own end but convert here and you get some momentum from the gun they'll try to impose their running game he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down all right well look I know the defense was feeling real good about their rund de coming into this one and how they've been playing up to this point but finally David the offense breaks through and they finally generate something positive on the ground and I can't tell you how easy it is when you're going to throw the ball consistently and I know it I'm going to pin my ears back and I'm going to get to the quarterback it makes life really easy on a defensive line but when you can have balance now the defense doesn't know what's coming they need more of this if they're going to be successful on offense after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 they want to run it left here he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple they're trying to run the football there's just nowhere to go for the ball carrier inside he tried to bounce it to the outside that linebacker way too fast he met him there for the [Applause] CF Here Comes This Home crowd as the defense tries to get off the field on third down looking downfield it's yers keeps the play going ran through the tackle and he's got room to run Nifty little Scamper on this one enough for the first down and he slides in safely nice job nice way to end that play for the QB he does a really good job scrambling getting the first down and getting down because defensively I'm trying to get a lick anytime I can hit the quarterback that is a win wide receiver shows motion caught in the back field it's cook didn't pick up a lot there moving forward just a few what we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved we get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him in the and now on second down for this offense out of the shotgun they go to the ground he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple you know the one thing you can say about this defense they pursue the football the first guy might miss the second guy might miss but there's going to be more and more hats flying to the ball carry you saw it on that play getting tackle for once they've made clutch tough plays on this drive on third down they need one more on third and seven looking to throw they've got the screen set up good tackle there to stop him short of the first down and now they have to make a call they allowed the completion but this defense was swarming to keep them away from that first down line yeah and you allow completions in those third down situations underneath the sticks and you come up and rally and everybody flies to the football that's great execution by this defense fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way running it back it's sategna and he's going to get it up to about the 29 yd line before he's brought down the Hogs send that offense back onto the field that last Drive was promising for a while but you just can't mess it up at the end with the pick Jesse no You' got to be able to finish drives especially in this game if you're going to win in David they've got to be able to eliminate the metal stti yeah and I don't think you get conservative play it safe you can trust your guy I think you put the ball right back in his hands and let him do his thing halfway there on first down it's second and five from the shotgun the inside G they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one you know the runner just has to have a little bit more patience he bounce that thing outside a little too early and as a result lost yards coming to the line of scrimmage on third down the playaction fake can't make the grab on third down and that is a rare drop for this guy you're not going to see that happen too often the quarterback man he was licking his chops he saw a big space in the middle of the field he had his best receiver there ready to make a play and he dropped it and the Razer back send out the punt unit to kick it [Applause] away and the returner will be brought down here comes the Texas offense here's another opportunity Jesse to stretch out this lead after punting last time I think it goes back to your Playmakers reys I think it's finding the guys that have been working for you earlier on in this game and getting them the football yeah and there's obviously no need to panic I mean think about it you got the lead you got the football you got to be smart with the football make your plays put a good drive together here ball is at the 35 it's first and 10 they'll leave it with him he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple man he tried to do all he could he broke one tackle but my goodness guys were hitting left and right in the back field this is a staple for any good defensive coordinator they want their guys to swarm to the football and a gang tackle if one guy misses another one's there no doubt and was stle for the offensive coordinator the offensive line coach is block those guys don't watch them tackle our BS leaves it with the back can't get him to the ground just will his way for a couple out to the 35 and a nice second effort by the back to break a tackle but how about those defensive backs willing to come up stick their face in the fan and make a tackle those are the best run defenses too right it's not just D linan and linebackers getting all the plays but it's DBS that are willing to not just cover but tackle backs in the open field better find the ear plugged here comes the noise backing this defense on third down on the move it's yers unloads to the wide out just masterful working that sideline and getting the toe down for the catch and they just want to give this guy a chance to make a play on third down and more times than not he is going to deliver he's so good so efficient such a good route Runner got the speed got the complete game so you definitely want to highlight him and especially on those Downs that matter the most if something's not open Quick underneath find him he'll make those contested catches the quick out they've got it inside the 30 they'll mark it at the 28 it's first down man this defense they have got to get better in coverage cage if they want to get off the field anytime soon you keep defending like that this offense might hang 50 on you by the end of the game and the Longhorns will snap it on First and 10 he's going to pass wide open downfield tackled but he has a first down and this junior loves to show off that big arm right second quarter getting closer to the half offense is still having a lot of success stringing some first downs together defense is going to need to figure something out before they get to halftime it's first and 10 from the 13 they've marched to the Red Zone and here they go looking for the score touchdown Texas and they made it to the house where they found that six points waiting on them and it's not an accident they're featuring this guy his second receiving touchdown of the game that's your job as a coach find my Playmakers get them the ball so they can do damage and have games like this right here lining up to add another is on for the extra point and with the extra point they pushed the lead out a little further they marched 78 yds down the field and they finish it by firing one in from the 13 for the score so they got the touchdown and as they kickoff really important for the defense to shut them down here from inside the 10 yd line he'll bring it back he was looking for more Running Room but none to be found as he stopped at the 23 and Arkansas are ready to send out this offense this lead in the half you're behind you'd love to create something before the break to build momentum Jesse but you've also had some miscues on offense a big part of why you're losing the game right now I'd take it into halftime make my adjustments and come out ready in the second half yeah I'm going to take it in halftime too PA but I'm trying to put some points up right here be aggressive set the tone be like Hey listen this is what you're going to get in the second half so find something really quickly you can go to and he can find a receiver and down he goes a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half to the air it's green pocket starts to collapse the defense going to stop the clock with the timeout they want to make sure they have everybody on the same page this offense is going to have to come up with a plan to block this guy he is an absolute monster and he showed you all his tools on that sack fourth down and the punt team sends it the other way he'll settle for some pretty good field position and make the fair catch at around the 35 so now the LGH horns take over and they'll send out the offense to the air on first down he's got an open man he found plenty of room and he gets it to the 39 yd line the offense uses a timeout to stop the clock and they'll get a quick breather from the 39 yd line it's first and 10 he wants to throw fires to the right through his hands and incomplete he normally makes that catch every time it's second down just got to finish the play through the wide receiver you got to look that one in and complete it it's a bad drop after the misfire it's second and 10 he's looking to throw fires to the wide out got his man downfield the stop is made but this offense is threatening first and goal from the nine man this offense is so dangerous ree they've got dudes all over the field that can make plays there's a big gainer in the pass game you get a chunk of yards like that now the defense is really on its heels time dwindling away as they try to put points on the board right before the half he'll set up to throw caught in the back field it's Bond touchdown long horns and they add six more to the board with that trip to the house number defense has got to do a better job of crowling this wide receiver they've got to know where he lines up each and every play and then once he has the ball they have to play with a sense of urgency and get hats to the football he's just way too dangerous in the open field [Applause] getting set for the point after for the extra point and the extra point makes it a 21 three lead quick work on that scoring drive just four plays number set to kick it away from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets they finally make the stop that's going to make those halftime stats look a little bit nicer as we head to the break first half in the books time now to join Kevin Connor in our halftime update thanks so much much guys and I need not tell you rivalry games always bring out a ton of emotion and no surprise we saw just that in the first half today and there is no better place to start this halftime than by reviewing how this wide out has been a Onan Wrecking Crew the kid's been everywhere and I love how he's willing to go across the middle but that he also has the Jets to burn these DBS on the Deep ball if this defense wants to actually come back in this one they better hide his cleats with that let's throw it back to the guys to see how this rivalry match up plays out the Riser backs will kick it off to start the second 3rd quarter half on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 and here comes the Texas offense back on the field they got plenty done through the air in the first half and we'll see if they even need to look for balance as we start the third quarter well and I I think defensively you understand like the running game isn't a big part of the plan I wonder how they adjust and play more coverage to this pass happy offense yeah so you're going to have to be ready if you're a quarterback then you're probably going to see some different coverages you might see a little bit more Blitz in the second half as well so you have to know where your answers are they couldn't draw up a better way to start a drive and now they've got it first and 10 from the 41 touch pass on the Run got enough for the first down and want more and he'll ramble to the 34 before he's finally knocked down it's so hard for a defense to have to stop plays like that because it really forces you to play with great eye discipline you see the pre- snap motion defense doesn't know if he's just running across the field and he's going to run a route if he's going to block or if he has the football that time he was able to outflank the defense and hurt them to get that first down just inside the 35 first and 10 from the 34 they go to the ground they get him down but he does pick up three to the 32 yd line you know it's so important for offens is to want to keep third Downs manageable the way you do that is by having success like that running the football on first down got three on first down it's second and seven pre- snap Motion in the back field looking to throw it's ERS got his man quickly finds a crease at the 20 there to make the tackle but the B big throw is good enough to give them a first down they've done a really good job identifying mismatches and they find one out of the back field there ree I really don't think it's that hard my guy is better than yours find the matchup across the field running back's got some speed get it in his hands quickly throw it to him fast let him make somebody Miss against a slower guy that's usually a linebacker touch pass on the Jet Sweep and maybe he'll get back to the line of scrimmage but no more than that well I love the aggressive nature of the defense on that play everybody playing with eye discipline they saw the pre- snap motion they knew who had the football and you saw guys play with excellent Instinct running downhill and making a tackle second down coming up from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole fight his way ahead they get him down after a pick up of three they'll mark it at the 12 third boy they'd love to move the sticks here and take a shot ated on first and goal the give to the left they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one how about the defender being a heat seeking missile he was on radar lock he found the football and flew down with some bad intentions they'll try to get something out of this drive and kick the field goal here on fourth down it's good and that was dead solid perfect and that lead grows even bigger they keep pushing that lead out and the kickoff team's getting some work looking for an alley from inside his own 10 and the coverage team able to make the tackle the Hogs send that offense back onto the field trailing by three touchdowns if you're going to get back in it David the time to start is right now got to start now defense giving up points on that last possession again the offense is going to have to score and Jesse probably scored pretty quick yeah you got to go Tempo you're going to have to try to fit in as many plays as you can throughout the rest of this game but I think more more than that you got to eliminate the negative plays no more penalties and no more turnovers and after the incompletion on first down this offense looking at second down back to throw it's green he's got his man they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down my old coach said you'll never go broke taking a profit take what's there take the positive yards and never complain and the Razer backs headed quickly to the line they'll run for it on Third and short didn't get much picked up a yard and that will leave them with fourth and two and sticking to the run I tell you what a lot of teams that are really good are really stubborn and they continue to run the football even with little success so this offense is going to continue to focus on running the football you can tell the Razer backs will send out the punt unit they may have to pay him overtime he's punting for the fifth time today on the return it's Balden he's brought down but a really solid effort to pick up every bit of yardage he could on the punt return so Texas has it again and here comes the offense quickly complete this quarterback has been really good today has been on top of it seeing things really really well that pass right there put 300 yd Mark that's a pretty good day now on second down they'll run it from the gun just a svage stop by this sophomore third down com offense breaks the Huddle it's third [Music] down they'll try to power their way ahead that just never had a chance as they controled the middle of the field and stopped him in the back field on third down yeah I think the running back kind of went r on that last running play I'm not sure it was designed to go that direction he tried to make it happen on his own fortunately end up losing and the long horns will punt it away on fourth down he's getting a lot of work fourth time he's punted tonight and that my friends is getting the perfect bounce the perfect Punt and the perfect roll they'll have them locked down inside their own five give to the running back gets a nice Surge and crosses the five to the 6yd line and pick up of three it's just so nice to know you can start off on first down with positive plays positive yards hand the football off set up a good second down after the three- yd pickup they come to the line Second and seven dropping back it's green just a short pass to the tight end he will step out of bounds but not before the big pick up first down for this offense that's a really nice looking throw and I'll tell you he fits in great with this offense because there's been this philosophical shift recently in the SEC offensively it used to be you had to run the football I formation three yards in a cloud of dust if you wanted to win but today though you have got to be able to throw if you're going to win you think about all the great offensive play callers now in the SEC all the Heisman Trophy winners that have played recently at the QB position you got to do it through the air and this guy in Arkansas gives a [Music] chance didn't get much on first down it's second and nine running back searching for a hole he'll be stopped just short of the 20 at the 19 give him one and this offense just can't afford not to get the first down here already trailing big and the clock is not their friend all kinds of room to throw that one in there he'll have enough for the first down and they stop him at the 45 and this defense is going to have their hands full because they're going to need to be comfortable with guys one-on-one on islands in the perimeter of the field and they're just going to have to make better plays than what we saw right there they knew this offense was going to try to be aggressive got to need better effort in the back end for this defense moving [Applause] forward power football with the run and he's a real Nowhere Man tackled in this no gain land linebackers in today's football obviously guys have gotten smaller they got to play in space more cover fast guys out on the perimeter but how about this linebacker coming downhill and making a physical tackle in the hole they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 dropping back it's green grabs it in the middle the defense wouldn't let him lose there and it was a completion but they lost yardage they're trying to throw the screen out to the receiver the defense though having none of that they are just too physical they're too fast they force a negative play seventh play of the drive coming up but a long way to to go on third down from the gun wants to pass throws to the wide out a beautifully placed ball to the outside and the tow drag for the big pickup man what a big catch on third down going up catching the football understanding where you're at now getting a fresh set of downs nice play by the receiver in search of their first touchdown of the game they are on the move with a first and 10 looking to move it through the air caught in the back field it's Armstrong they stop him almost immediately short gain there and still a little ground cover to pick up the first great job by the quarterback throwing against Zone coverage you cannot Telegraph where you're throwing the football you cannot eyeball wide receivers so great job by the quarterback using his eyes not staring down his guy and then throwing him open they'll try the Run not much room a pick up of two down to the 28 2 third and short from the 28 let's see if this is four down territory or if they just pick up the first here to the ground to try to move the chains and he's knocked down but not before moving The Chain man that was a good run but it was almost even better great job by the offense keep the running game going you get big chunks Like This Not only was that a big chunk it also looked like it could have gone for more and the Razer backs with the first and 10 from the Red Zone looking for a receiver going for it all just about picked off in the end zone and that would have put a stop this scoring threat instead it'll be second down and you just got to wonder if the pass rush affected the QB's accuracy on that throw he had his guy wide open in the end zone but he had to throw it a split second faster than he wanted to and the ball got away from him to the air it's green he CAU it and he's into the end zone touchdown Arkansas oh the offense shows some life here cuts into the lead with that score and man they needed it they had to have something to go right listen still down but this is a great start to get back in this ball [Music] game ready to try the point after the extra point and the extra point pulls them closer it's 24- 10 precise Relentless execution on that 13pl scoring drive and the Capper a 19 yd toss for the touchdown they've got it down to a two touchdown deficit trailing by 14 and about to kick it away here he comes from inside his own five nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 L Long Horn sending the offense back onto the field after giving up that last touchdown they still got the lead but now feeling a little bit of pressure to answer with one of their own David man and it gets a little bit tight listen we're getting later in the ball game this offense punted last time they got to find a few plays Palmer that they really love here steal some momentum back in this ball game they do David and after watching their defense just get gash down the field that last Drive the dream drive for this offense would be to matriculate the ball down the field eat up some clock and finish it off with a touchdown guys it is Texas who holds the lead they built a comfortable lead after 34s of play Let's Take a look at how we got here just about ready to go in the fourth and we'll see if any drama can be mustered here comes the offense on 4th quarter second down wide out in motion they'll run it from the gun nowhere to run on that one he loses four on the carry it's going to be tough sledding for the offense here they're trying to ice this game by running the football and leading the clock they've got a pretty good lead here late in the game but the defense knows the run's coming right so they're going to be loading the line of scrimmage getting stops like what they just did be interesting to see what the offense does on this next one on Third and long a check down would be the last resort and the pressure gets him back at the 8 yd line yeah the defensive line you know third and long situations come rush in the quarterback you bringing the nipple a little bit more speed on the field and the defensive line gets home and gets the sack on third down the long horns will line up to plan it away and out and not much choice but to get rid of the ball yet another punt on the way got to make sure that hamstring stays loose he's been busy and Arkansas ready to send out this offense man what a drive last time for the touchdown that passing attack was Lethal David yeah and you know you hear all these stupid commentators like me and Jesse talking about create balance you know run and pass no when you throw that good spin the ball around so the defense has to find a way to affect the quarterback on this drive because last drive he had way too much time to throw not what they had in mind to start this drive here comes second and 13 to the air it's [Applause] green he's got the back in the middle and he'll be brought down I want to get my running backs the ball in space as much as possible and sometimes it doesn't work in the running game I can throw it to him I can try to create some space out wide dumping the football let him make some catches and see if I can't get some big plays out of it that last completion still leaving them with a third down they'll try to move the chains on the ground and there were some collisions in there and the D finally stopped him short of the marker man I think back in the day this is a no-brainer you're punting the football and believing your defense but analytics all the time now telling you to be aggressive I'm interested to watch this play obviously if you're aggressive you might could run this clock out and end the football game and not have to put your defense back on the field the give on fourth down he is stopped short and they'll turn it over on Downs just a crushing blow at this point in the game and you had to I mean the offense had to be aggressive you're down multiple scores you needed to make something happen right now you had to be aggressive I think you had to go for on that fourth down now obviously the games looking like it might get out of hand it's a point in the game I think as a coaching staff where you really challenge your offensive line to go win the football game right we've got to lead late we're going to run the football and the defense and everybody in the stadium knows that's what's going to happen can we run the ball down their throats and impose our will that's what this offense right now is trying to do to the 10 and he's running in the open and he is marked out of bounds after another big game this aerial attack has had no problem moving the ball with chunk play I love this type of play because it looks like a Jet Sweep the defense they're a bit confused pre-nap they don't know who has the ball and all of a sudden that guy with his speed is in the second level of the defense before the defense even knows what happened run the gun the running back has it able to get one down to the 15 didn't get much on first down it's second and nine looking for space it's maxter give him six on the play they'll mark it at the nine keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the Box more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing boy they'd love to pick up this conversion and go to work with a first and goal off the play fake fires to the end zone touchdown Texas and they take it in for six more points Texas fight and fighting them through the air and on the ground reminiscent of Colt McCoy's big day against A&M in 2009 yeah just doing whatever they want and this is a good spot to be listen Texas gets a highly recruited kid at quarterback every single year can this be the guy that takes him to the next level today is a good day on to attempt the try and the extra point splits the upright and there up a full three touchdowns a 21-point cushion in the fourth kickoff team has the ball teed up and they're about ready to go he'll bring it back from inside as five nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 the Hogs send that offense back on onto the field back to pass it's green safe completion on the screen he makes the stop but a nice pick up there on first down leaves him in second and management here's the deal you're down three possessions you know it doesn't feel likely they're going to come back and win but we've seen crazier stuff happen in college football it all starts with a big completion on a two-minute Drive they'll get the momentum started in your direction he's looking for a man on second down now catch in the middle it's Armstrong tackled at the 29 let's give him five on that one love the location of the throw on that slant pass put it out in front of the receiver put it on his face mask so he can catch it and try to advance they'll start this one from the 29 on first down he's looking to throw it caught over the middle it's Wilson hard no determined effort to work his way up to the 35 yd line well and here's the problem offensively because you're trailing by so much so late in the game the defense now is going to be playing big Zone coverages and they're going to allow you to throw the ball underneath in the middle of the field rally to make a tackle and bleed the clock it's going to be hard now for this offense to claw their way back in this one unloads to the wide out makes the grab and this junior quarterback shows you why the scouts love that big arm of his the offense has struggled they're not going to win this game but trust me this coaching staff is still trying to find things to build off of for next week and after an explosive play like that maybe they can generate just a little bit of momentum and gain a little bit of confidence that they can keep coaching up heading into their next game fires to the wide out good quickness to grab it off the bals and this defense was flailing as he weaved his way and got down to the 26 that's why everybody has to do the Tip Drill DBS and receivers and it worked out this time for the offense that's exactly what you want as a Defender just get your hand on the football let that thing bounce and you see so many big plays made but it was the opposite goes right to the wide receiver makes the play makes the catch man that's frustrating for a defense to the ground with the back and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that play what a run great speed great vision elusiveness and David he's tackle down close to the goal line yeah and this offense when you can run the football like this man you will have success especially in the Red Zone trying to get touchdowns they've hit him with backto back chunk plays now it's first and goal back to pass it's green feeling some heat forced out of the pocket and he runs it in for the score touchdown Razer MS they thought maybe they could contain him they thought wrong hey don't call him a quarterback just call these guys skill players I mean so fast you can tell the angle just getting chewed up you think you got a chance to catch him tell you what put that in your back pocket understand that guy can fly I got to make sure I take the proper angles when I'm chasing him P unit on the field exra [Applause] point and with the extra point they're now down 3117 to a drive there of 84 yds and he got into the house from the six to finish it lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown Drive he'll start the return inside is sp he was looking for some Running Room but not much to be found as he stopped at the 18 here come the horns they've got it again on offense fast motion from the offense they'll run behind the big guys on the right oh on a move and that defense is there to guide him out of bounds after a short gain small game I know but again the defense knows he's going to run the football he's willing to run the football not just drop back and pass make him on to the Run game you got to do a lot of this solid pick up of four on first down it's second and six got room at the 35 he's run out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down they showed great trust in their quarterback right there and why not he's had an outstanding game an outstanding game has taken care of the football now late in the game you got the lead that first down now tells me now it's time to start running the football run the clock get out of here with the DB motion by the back forces the defense to adjust grabbed behind the line it's blue and they pick up just a few on that completion well he made the grab but the doors closed quickly after that and I like this I want to find my running back but man he's got do a little more damage after the catch I need I need a stiff arm I need a spin move I need something where he can make that guy Miss and keep make up a bunch of yards and maybe get a big play out of it takes a hand off and he's going right keeps the legs moving how about the patience from this sophomore to hunt that green grass man this offense would really like to lean on this guy in the fourth quarter right they've got the lead and you just saw his ability there breaking it tackle he looks like he's getting stronger as the game goes on I'd expect him to get a few more carries here before this game's over the long horns have this offense rolling off the play fake on first down to throw got it in the middle it's h makes the stop at the 23 yd line but it's a pick up of 15 a first down and this offense is smelling the end zone the Longhorns come to the line with a new set of downs smart move to keep it on the ground he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three well the offensive line had everybody blocked except the defensive end he was able to sneak into the back field tackle for L not many hiccups on this drive but it's second and 13 now from the shotgun now here's an inside GI gets it inside the 25 down to the 22 yd line with a pick up of four we reached the two-minute warning and this offense will be quite content just to drain the rest of the time away let's see what they've dialed up on Third and long from the 22 looking for a crease it's maxter picked his way through the traffic for six but it'll be fourth down in three yds to go quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense now on fourth down they'll try to come away with three he got it and now the leads extended a little further [Applause] they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position and they'll get him on the ground as the offense comes out to start the next drive and Arkansas ready to send out this offense looking to go up top on first down tremendous awareness along the Seline and the ability to get the foot down for the big pick up I love the anticipation on that throw by the QB on the out route you got to throw it before the receiver comes out of his break nice work sprinting to the line to try to get this one off clock's running back to throw it's green quickly complete they make the stop but the sweet GL catches plenty to give him a first down they immediately call timeout H your preserve every second they can to try to rally here late they'll throw it on first down looking to the big tight end makes a connection big play for this offense as they get it to the 32 and just see there's a huge mountain to climb here but you might as well start with a chunk play well you got to start somewhere reys it's been tough going for this offense all game long they find themselves in a hole but I love the aggressive nature keep taking shots keep trying to claw your way back into this one they'll throw it on first down unloads to the white out right on the money to the outside he dragged the toe and how about the ball placement only the receiver could get it this is an offense that has skill and they've got speed and because of that this defense they can't lull themselves to sleep they've got a big lead here late but they've now given up back-to-back big plays they got to put the clamps down down to the 12 yd line it's first down snags it that's about as close as you can get to that marker and it will be second and just a few GS away away from the first down I don't know who on defense is going to cover this guy honestly he could be a problem for this defense over the middle of the field in the passing operating in the Red Zone here on second down and they'll spike the ball to try to save as much time as they can third [Applause] tight quarters deep in the Red Zone but they can pick up a first down without scoring third down looking for a man it's green just gets rid of it before the Heat and the quarterback gets hit again we already know this defense has gotten home to him multiple times in this game so here you are you're trailing in the game defense knows you're going to throw it they're pinning their ears back you can't feel very confident right now if you're the play caller and certainly if you're the quarterback that you're going to have time time to throw it would take a miracle to get back in this game but any miracle and makes the grab in the end zone touchdown Arkansas and a nice touchdown continuing to fight continuing to play this one it's pretty much over down multiple possessions this late in the football game it would take a miracle but nice job by this offense continuing to fight push the ball down the field make plays [Music] lining up for the pat for the extra point and with the extra point every little bit counts as they get closer they put together an 81 yd drive and it was finished off with a two-y touchdown to time is against some still down by two scores but they'll line up for the onside kick and a few anxious moments but the hands team is able to fall on it yeah and this is why you put your hands team on the field most of the time when you know it's coming and you put those guys that are great catchers of the football the first guys what do they do they go block they go blow somebody up the next guys catch the football secure it get your butt on the ground and most of the time when you do this the ball game is over Player stats [Music] [Music]
