DIRECTV Talks WISP Partnerships and the Multifamily Space

[Music] welcome everybody once again to cvtv as we continue to build toward wispa paloa in October uh joining us right now from Direct TV I know it's a company that we've all heard of he is the senior director multifam sales Mark Cunningham how you doing Mark doing great Brady nice to nice to be with you today well thank you thank you so much for the time and we're really excited to kind of learn a little bit more about Direct TV uh how is Direct TV kind of partnering with wisps today so you really have pivoted in the last last year you know in Direct TV today right is partnering with whis really the the primary ways to provide video content that can be paired with the internet services being provided by the wre these wireless internet service providers what this does it really enables the Wisp to to attract new customers to offer additional services to their existing customer base yeah and to more effectively compete against cable Telco and satellite isps right who are already providing those video services today by partnering with Direct TV you know the Wisp are able to pay their internet with a premium video service that already has a strong brand reputation in the marketplace in addition Direct TV is a pure video company and as a result these Wireless in service providers also don't have to worry about competition ition from their video Partners so where they're getting their video from that that person you know isn't competing with them for their core internet business so these are a few of the reasons why we continue to expand our Partnerships with with Wireless in service providers no very cool stuff what's new for Direct TV in the multif family space so so Direct TV you know we've been a premium video service provider you know for a long time and and now what's exciting is we can provide that service without a satellite dish Direct TV has long been known as the satellite TV company well now the same Direct TV service that's been enjoyed by millions of customers over the past three decades is now available over the Internet so today what I'd like to do is Spotlight our multif family product Direct TV stream bulk this new product has really revitalized the bulk video industry you know Direct TV stream bulk you know you put that together and you know you pair it with the growing demand for bulk internet services and it's been a huge success since our recent launch with over 880,000 new units under double play bulk agreements and that number is growing daily wireless internet service providers are now able to sell a premium double play bulk service enabling them to compete and win in a competitive B business Direct TV's brand our unmatched content our ability to include additional streaming platforms you know at a very discounted bulk price um provides a a strong offer that just previously wasn't available for internet service providers you know so let me give you an example so picture this offer along with a wireless internet service bulk internet service or a bulk managed Wi-Fi service that provider can offer to a community Direct TV's traditional video service hundreds of channels including local sports news um network channels in addition premium content from HBO Paramount plus Showtime add to that right three streaming services so all those all those customers would get the Direct TV app the par the the max app and the Paramount Plus app and with with all this content and all all these streaming services have the ability to offer that at a bulk rate for under $30 so this really just becomes an amazing value um to add on to a quality bulk internet service and again no additional cost to to the wireless Ed service provider for infrastructure set toop boxes or content so this product that you know we're extremely excited about our Contin ability to continue to grow this with our with our internet Partners well I would say that that's definitely a a premium benefit now for the wireless internet service provider Mark uh what are some of their key benefits for providing bulk Direct TV stream for their bulk internet customers yeah so first and foremost it's the ability to win more bulk internet agreements more bulk Properties by by provid having the ability to offer an additional service and a premium service so again you know our our bulk Direct TV stream product paired with their internet will provide the best quality and value in the marketplace um in addition we've made it simple for the wi service providers to provide this service for the most part they simply need to include the product in their current bulk offer to apartments condos HOAs and Direct TV handles the majority of the work once the agreement signed and finally you know really by partnering with Direct TV whisper are able to avoid the cost and struggles of developing and maintaining their own video platform you know and and finally they they create a an additional reoccurring Revenue stream for their company on every Direct TV sale so Direct TV is really excited about our growing partnership with Wisp and look forward to continue to expand with wisp in the multif family space well it sounds like a lot of exciting stuff kind of going on there at Direct TV Mark uh what sort of things can we expect from the company in the future yeah so as we look at the video platform and we continue to evolve and develop this product specifically in the multif family space we're really we're really looking to to fill the need you know you know and as we see video we've seen V video linear TV kind of decline in in consumption but we saw video content going up so so this was our way to to kind of to to re-enter that that bulk space where it made sense where all the residents are getting a lot of video content but what we're doing now is starting to aggregate you know we're aggregating all that video content onto one platform and making it easy for customers to get to whether it's YouTube or Netflix or Direct TV or Max or Paramount Plus or Disney Plus or wherever they're getting that video content we continue to evolve our product to make it the One-Stop shop where they can go to get to all the content that they're purchasing which may be in addition to even the bulk content they purchase from us so again I think becoming that that super aggregator um really puts us in a strong
