Pregame welcome folks to downtown Atlanta and mercedesbenz Stadium site of this year's Chick-fil-A peach bow and of course part of the college football playoff today we have a top 25 matchup on hand two of college football's Premier teams preparing to battle against one another as we'll see the number 17 team in the country the Clemson Tigers taking on the number one team in the land the Georgia Bulldogs 3A sports college football I'm Chris Fowler here in the booth with Kirk herb Street I think we've talked long enough Kirk let's get this game going 1st quarter and the Tigers will kick it away and get this game going he's going to return it from near the goal line he's tackled at the 21 that's when the drive will start so the Georgia bulock offense comes on the field first today and as this quarterback takes the field eager to see how he plays today there's a certain gravity about him you can tell from the warm-up song the way the team responds and rallies around him can he come through on a big stage here yeah this guy is their Superman when that opening kickoff is kicked up into the air his cap goes on he sets everything into place gets the offense out of jams does it pressure situations he's the arms and legs of this offensive system but also the heart of this team the loss sets up a second and long from the 20 [Applause] quick throw catch made on the out bout that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down Chris I think you got to give all the credit to the wide receiver here manto man coverage on an out route that is a tough ass good inside move on the stem to separate from the defender and a great throw by the quarterback near the sideline on First and 10 here we to throw the ball caught over the middle it's love it they bring him down after a short gain there well here the defense decided to sit back and play zone and that front didn't do a good job of pressuring the quarterback he had the time to make the throw and he put it on Target by completion makes it second and medium and now the handoff and he's brought down but he does have enough for the first down Bo great patience and acceleration to be able to pick up this first down by this back from Georgia you think of Georgia backs you think about Hershel Walker right away right Sunny Michelle Todd Gurley Nick chub noan Marino I mean Alis Go's on and on a great Georgia backs this Georgia offense is moving quickly down the field pre snap motion from the receiver on first down it's play action looking for the wide out that's going to be incomplete a first down drop here in the middle of the field second down after the incompletion off the play fake looking to throw the football it's incomplete that was caused by the defensive pressure and now it brings up third down if that ball were thrown just a little bit higher they could have gotten away with a completion a great play by the defender getting a hand on it offense been in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down dropping back they're going to throw for the first down and he's got it g picks up the first down tackled at the 37 that's exactly what you want to see here this offense a big third down conversion offensive line did their job giving a quarterback enough time great read good execution throws the ball accurately now you got some momentum going here on this opening drive Georgia setting up with a first and 10 now they'll run it out of the shotgun that's a nice tackle there by the senior defense does a really nice job here being able to contain that run game held him just to two yards Chris to me this changes the Playbook a little bit now for the offense the guy calling the plays at second eight that's a different deal now he's got to probably thinking about going through the air instead of staying on the ground to throw it's back and it's complete downfield not much after the catch but it is good enough for a first down well it's a big risk to play man-to-man coverage by this defense and this time they get caught great timing between the quarterback and his receiver you can see can happen when that timing is right big things can happen pass complete for a first down the offense gets a fresh set of downs what a job to lay out and make the catch Chris when that quarterback threw that football I didn't think that play had much of a chance how about the effort by this wide receiver to lay out and come up with that completion for positive yards George has moved into the red zone On The Run it's etn all car you block down at the four offense in great scoring position here it's a good solid game five or six yards love to see that from the running game here comes a crucial second down play every yard tough to find down here in the red zone they'll feed the back again tough running to avoid a loss but just barely gets back to the line of scrimmage so here we go third down defense needs a stop here try to force a field goal attempt back goes in motion now let's see how the defense adjusts looking to theend Zone and he will score touchdown Bulldogs well there's nothing more satisfying for an offensive coordinator than having a quarterback that he can trust in these critical areas here you are third and goal what do you do put the ball in the hands of that quarterback whether he runs it in or throws it you know he's going to make the right decision found the match up made the throw and you get a touchdown open the game and they'll set up now for the extra point try and the pat makes it s nothing [Applause] the kickoff team on the field now as they get set to send this one away Fields it just outside the goal line and the returner brought down by the coverage team there so Clemson's offense takes the field our first chance to see them today so now here comes the other half of this great running back duel we expect to see today both guys keyed up for the game but also for this individual matchup yeah I like this a pair of ta backs that like to pound away at the front seven for four quarters and with these two that constant pounding eventually leads to a big breakout play that can change the impact of the game the defense sits back in a Zone coverage good job here by the quarterback recognizing that soft coverage and he hits the routine drag route underneath for a first down here's a first and 10 play back to throw it's Club Nick makes a quick grab and they'll move the six on that one it's a first down to the 42 defense kind of lost the running back here makes a nice catch and hits the first down in the [Applause] process it's a first and 10 play coming up for the offense off the play fake looking to throw lets it go grab down the middle it's bring stew an explosive play they finally grab him but the ball moves inside the 25 a lot of times college quarterbacks they're more comfortable working to the outside here's an example of a quarterback with a full field read and he hits a big play in the middle the Tigers hustle to the line to run the hurry up looking at to throw it again and that one's picked off what a play he's got some room and some blockers here and he'll be taken down but after a good return really nice job of mixing up for looks here by this defense sometimes man some sometimes zone They fool the quarterback here completely and he throws the pit and the Georgia offense is back out on the field the passing game was so effective in the last possession right down for a touchdown we'll see if the defense can make adjustments that run takes it across the 30 yd line hat on a hat up front good job opening up the holes anytime you can get positive yards on first down that's a win the game makes it second and medium they'll hand it off makes the catch for the defense breaks in the ball and it's a short game third down coming up after that running play back to throw it's spec here's a throw underneath to the tight end and he moves the ball across Midfield and picks up a first down most defensive coordinators focus a lot of their energy on how their unit performs on third down and in the Red Zone they give up a couple more third down conversions like that and they're in for a very unpleasant film session on Monday Georgia getting set with a first and 10 now pre- snap motion from the offense they flip it to him on the Jet Sweep finding enough space for a solid game before they stop it you a lot of times these types of plays either go for nothing or they can go for a huge chunk of yards here they do a nice job of getting it to the outside turning it up field and ended up getting a nice gain out of it second down after that run on the previous play fakes the hand off looking to throw it fires it to the wide out finds a receiver in the middle of the field but down after the catch but the gain moves the ball to the 30 well you could tell the quarterback knew exactly what he wanted to do with the football he was going to that in route no matter what he hits it for a nice game the dogs are moving quickly down the field it's a shotgun run call the gain is three yards so second and seven nice solid run here by this back did a nice job of just kind of finding that lane pick up some positive yards there on First and 10 important second down play coming up hand off here from the shotgun they'll stop him behind the line for a loss and one how about the timing here by the defense to shoot that Gap as an linan you have to anticipate that close that Gap off otherwise it could be a long day so the offense getting set this is not where you want to be against this defense third and long dropping back it's back quick throw to the left side and it's incomplete But Here Comes the flag so hold on let's check that out and the head coach will decide to accept the penalty and take the yardage so looks like they'll bring the field goal unit onto the field field goal try no good but there is a marker on the field just might get another shot at this that's a costly penalty for the Special Teams offense coming back on the field you just can't make contact with a kicker right now they're going to run it here tackled down at the three yd line after an excellent run nothing better than an offense on first down to be able to pick up big positive yards like that you can either keep giving it to the back or it can set up play action and get the defense to come up to the line of scrimmage and you can throw it over top of it and the Bulldogs hoping to punch it in here they have first and goal and they're trying to punch it in here they tackle him behind the line a loss of four well this defense is being challenged they're close to their own goal line but how about this play all 11 guys coming together they stood firm the result is a short loss for the offense nice job so off the loss it's second and goal from the seven trying for the End Zone running it right up the gut the senior able to make the stop after a short game well he came close to putting his ball into the end zone becomes up short now we're looking at a third and goal where the defense is digging in the offensive line trying to get a good push I'm curious to see if they try to run the football again here on Third and goal offense comes up to the line they might have a chance for a couple more plays before the quarter expires launching one to the end zone and it's in complete very near the goal line hey the good news is here Chris they're still in field goal range and they didn't cost themselves any points but they could have more they got to be thinking about going for this on Fourth and short and out comes the field goal unit this will be a very short Chip Shot from 22 yds out this one is right through and that will extend their lead even further and that one my gosh it's almost too easy nice kick They Come Away with three points on the drive and now the kickoff team will blw it away bringing it out it's hnes and the defense able to bring him down to wrap up the first quarter of play well Kirk it's Georgia on top so far they jumped out to an early lead in that opening period let's take a quick look at the stats so far crucial stage of the game as we begin the second quarter is this one going to get out of hand okay the 2nd quarter Clemson offense heads back out onto the field they had some good things going in the last drive but it ended suddenly with the pick Let's see what they can do here brought down but broken tackle to produce a solid gain there I'll take that every single time offensive line does a nice job up front this backs vision and ability to get positive yards by lowering his pads on full display right there and the Tigers will crank up the tempo out of the shotgun he hands It Off and tackled after a small pickup there interesting play call here third and short inside their own 20 they want to get this drive going or a punt could give the opponents excellent field position they make the stop just short of the first looks like inches to go and now fourth down the Tigers will bring their punt team onto the field that's the first punt of the afternoon for this offense he's got an opening watch out he's got great speed the coverage team makes the stop on this return and the Bulldogs offense is back got on the field the last possession they had to settle for a chip shot field goal can they find the end zone this time out when they try the middle but stuck for no [Applause] game second down play coming up looking down field it's back receiver looks it in it's complete the pickup is four sets up a third and six now dropping back looking to throw for the first down caught over the middle it's loveing right out at the 46 good enough for a first down they bring him down but the veteran quarterback shows off that trademark arm strength one of the great things about this offensive scheme is how they spread the defense out put a lot of pressure on them because they create a lot of space in the middle they've been able to get the ball to this slot receiver time and time again receiver in motion now and looking to throw now on first down caught behind the line it's Bell you know each receiver brings something a little bit different to the table Chris to me the outside receivers usually a little bit longer taller guys you get those slot receivers in the inside not only can they make the catch but they have quickness to make plays after the catch great example of that right here second down play coming up for this offense and the wi out goes in motion in a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs yeah you know this defense has got to be frustrated after giving a multiple conversions now on first downs there's another one but for the offense and they're just playing very efficiently right now the dogs pick up enough yardage to get a fresh set of downs here comes a first down pass attempt looking for his big tight end but they can't make the connection balls in man Chris I don't know if that was a bad read by the quarterback or a bad route by the receiver they got to get this cleaned up before the next time they go through the air that incompletion makes it second and 10 play action fake looking to throw let it fly to the wide out he pulls it in for a big game touchdown dogs this quarterback on today so the offense clicking now KK building the lead and this one could get out of hand well it's just complete domination the offense is executing and doing their job putting points on the board the defense is shown up prepared ready to play it just feels like this game's getting sideways in a hurry [Applause] so they'll try to add to the lead now with the p extra point is good and they stretch the lead a little bit more kickoff team is on the field to boot this one away and here's the return from inside the five and he stopped at the 20 tried to make something happen but that's good coverage there and the powerful Clemson offense is back out there are coming off a three and out looking to produce a positive drive here we start the drive with a quick throw to the right defense surrounds him just a short gain on that completion how about this defense that is called team Pursuit swarming to this wide receiver on the screen not allowing him to get his moment momentum up field second down after that run on the previous play an inside give now from the shotgun theault were able to bring him down quickly so a very makeable third down for this offense from the 26 yd line scanning the field it's Club Nick makes a quick catch they stop him at the 34 that will be a first down well that's exactly how you Dice up of Zone coverage nice throw downfield here on third down and a really good route to give the quarterback a chance to make that play Clemson getting set with a first and 10 now On The Run it's mafa he's found some R with the 45 brought down but not before he gets into enemy territory at the 49 wait how about that play Chris that thing just opened up the back shot through there with great acceleration what a pickup there on first down this offense has gotten going at long last it's another first and 10 there's the handoff and the runner brought down after just a short gain nice job here of controlling the line of scrimmage by this offensive line the back does what he needs to do to get positive yards on first down second down after that run on the previous play on the hand outout they'll test the right side here they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one they're backed up here trying to make something happen on Third and long dropping back looking to throw for the first down it's picked off he tried to fire the ball into a tight window look out he's got some space at the 10 now going to take it all the way in pick six touchdown Georgia with the takeaway and the touchdown that is just a dream play for any Defender well let's start with the interception I just love the fact that he got his eyes turned around found the football and then has the athletic ability to be able to secure it then he goes back to high school running back days and shows you what he can do with the ball in his hands and takes it all the way back for a touchdown beautiful thing so they'll try to add to the lead now with the Pat and the kick is up and good they tack on a point to their lead here's the kickoff team Now set to boot this one away so no return here he takes any in the end zone and they'll begin the drive at the 25 okay the Clemson offense heads back out on of the field play action here on first down quick throw to his receiver makes a spectacular diving catch Chris that's just a great individual effort to lay out like that to make a catch for the off nice play to start the drive they're near Midfield here for first and 10 out the play fake he'll look to throw it grab down the middle it's Randall it's a huge gain all the way down inside the 30 how about the arm strength from this quarterback he really didn't have any other option than to put it right in there and give it everything that he had great timing and a good job of squeezing that in between the Defenders fresh set of downs it's first and 10 the offense with some pre- snap motion first down looking to throw the ball it's a short completion to the big tight end and he's shoved out of bounds by the defense short of the first down marker and here the tight end shows off his hands for a nice game love to see the big man get his touches getting set here's second down looking to throw it's clubnet Junior steps up and makes an impact play that time it's the free safety getting home on the blitz to blow it up had a long way to go and it's a bit of a risk as obviously the free safety is the last line of Def fence on these long pass plays and he's coming after that quarterback and he's got to make sure he gets home quickly to make the play on the QB otherwise you're at risk of giving up a big play through the air great job there and timing that up they come to the line a long way to go for the first half but needing this crucial conversion right now the offense with some pre- snap eye candy now in third and very long looking to throw again he's just trapped and sacked in the pocket well the reality with any screen pass is they usually take a little bit of time to develop and though they often can hit big sometimes they take too long to cook up and sometimes you can get [Applause] sacked and the Tigers will send their punt team onto the field and he'll kick it away now for the second time [Applause] and he puts it out of bounds so no return and the powerful Georgia offense is back out on the [Applause] field off the play fake looking to throw on first down going for a big play downfield the catch is made for a huge pickup oh and nothing but green grass ahead and he takes it all the way to the End Zone touchdown Bulldogs if this receiver is putting on a show today that is three trips to the end zone already and based on how this defense is playing against him this may not be the last time we see it in the end zone today [Applause] kicking team out for the pat triy pat is good as they build on this big lead kickoff teams come on the field now to send this one away he'll return it from inside the five he'll be tackled at the 17 strong job by the coverage team and the powerful Clemson offense is back out there last Drive stall they were forced to punt it away let's see what they can come up with this [Applause] time a solid eight yd gain brings up a second and [Applause] two looking downfield it's Club Nick that's going to be incomplete a lot of contact no flag brings up third down third down here time for perhaps one more play before the two-minute warning can he get there on the ground they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one so we reached the two-minute warning in this offense trying to get something going here and cut into this lead before halftime the Tigers will line up to boot it away in to kick it away the coverage team able to bring the returner to the ground and the Georgia offense is back out on the field this offense Scorch the defense with a lightning strike a oneplay touchdown in the last possession let's see if they can duplicate that magic here it's incomplete he was hit as he threw good pass rush there on first down we finally see a change up from this defense it has been a long game for this defensive coordinator a lot of touchdown passes they finally find a way to affect the timing with between the quarterback and his receivers by getting pressure QB tries it again here on second and 10 there's a screen pass to the running back man heads out of bounds after a decent gain screen plays are risky because the defense can get to the quarterback and it also can be covered many times the quarterback just throws it away here they get some positive yards offense looking to convert on Third and short from the 42 can they make the yardage or face a tricky fourth down decision looking to pick up the first down through the air Works to the left and it's complete finally brought down but it's an explosive game B all the way to the 21 Bo a huge play by this offense a good throw a nice accurate throw but I think it's the run after the catch that really impresses me and early in this game you got to think they're going to continue to go back to him until this defense shows that they can slow him down Georgia setting up with a first and 10 now dropping back it's Beck catch H here over the middle boy he has such great size I just love this play call on First and 10 the defense is expecting a run instead you go play action and you throw it to the big man for some positive yards on First and 10 offense getting set it's second down so the offense calls a timeout here that's their first of the half here's the second down [Applause] play offense looking to throw the ball makes the ground In The End Zone touchdown dogs when you talk about a dream performance by this guy that's his fourth receiving touchdown of this game we knew he'd have chances to make plays but I don't think anybody expected four touchdowns [Applause] now they line up to kick the extra point and the p is good as they continue to pull away even more so the offense getting some momentum before halftime of the touchdown now they kick off and H the def def can get a quick stop fielded In The End Zone it's Williams tackled at the 14 not very good field position to start here okay the Clemson offense heads back out onto the field let's see what they do here in the final minute of the half try to get aggressive and cut into this lead or play it safe that's reeled in it's brown a timeout is called to talk straty close game here as we approach halftime Chris it's so easy to get excited about the receivers on on the outside and their ability to make big plays but the slot receivers are just as exciting especially with their finesse quickness and ability to make guys miss in the middle of that field the offense will quickly spend a timeout here after the play well they love going to this guy in the slot don't they what a mismatch inside he reels in another one this guy's automatic scanning the field it's Club Nick it's an out route the catch made the offense calls a timeout here that's their third and final of the half boy this receiver in the slot is giving this defense all kinds of problems he has another catch on the day you may want to adjust out get out of your base maybe try at five or six defensive backs on the field somebody that can match up more athletically against this slop receiver offense lines up for a second down play off the incompletion there's the snap they'll set up to throw fires it to the white out he's got it for a big gain he's brought down but a solid game wounds the ball across Midfield before [Music] 41 and the Tigers come to the the line to run the hurry [Applause] up looking to throw it on first down and he'll lost it to the end zone throws it too far over everyone's head and incomplete well it's an incompletion here I bet this secondary is going to play a little bit deeper just to make sure they don't get hit on any deep throws later in this game so with only a few seconds left in the half out comes the field goal unit the kicker has good range but this one is from 58 yards out the attempt is no good he missed it and the score remains very lopsided and that will do it for the first half here Kevin Connors now has our halftime update guys time for everyone inside that Stadium to take a deep breath and digest what we just saw and we have to start this halftime breakdown by addressing the play of this Elite wide receiver this is clearly a young man who once he's finished playing on Saturdays he's going to be playing on Sundays the kid has different gears he has a knack for finding gaps in the defense and I can't remember a college player with that kind of catch radius I don't know about you but I'm ready to watch this one unfold back to our guys in the booth the Bulldogs will kick this away to begin the second 3rd quarter half and it's fielded can the returner make something happen here and the coverage team able to bring him down and the powerful Clemson offense is back out there first down with going to throw the football that's reeled in it's brown and he's brought down after a big first down game it's second and short maybe an opportunity Kirk to take a shot here you see more and more offenses in college football going the three receivers and the slot receiver a lot of times can become the go-to guy he gets missed matches against either safeties a Nickelback or a linebacker walked out and you can take advantage of moves his way for a first down of the 35 well this is exactly where you find out what you're made out as a team when you're trailing coming out of the half how do you respond well we know how this running back's going to respond what a statement to get this second half started offense will set up on First and 10 keeping it on the ground here he's brought down but not before the game of the 42 yd line Second down after that run on the previous play from the shotgun now here's a hand off inside has first down yardage at the 46 good push up front here in this back I tell you he's got some outstanding Vision to be able to find those creases to be able to get positive yards and here he gets the first down this Clemson offense moving quickly down the [Applause] field he'll hand it off and they'll tackle him for a loss of five yds Chris I'll be really honest with you I don't know why they continue to try to run the football I'm all about balance I'm all about trying to make sure defense has to defend the run and the throw but at this point in the game they haven't been able to run the ball they're going to have to go through the air if they're going to come back and take the lead in this game at some point and they'll keep it on the ground running back has a hand off the Soph with a strong tackle there the offense facing a tough conversion here third and long from the 42 to the air it's Club Nick and he finds a wide openen receiver they forgot about him downfield and the stop is made but not before a huge gain LS the ball to the 32 this is a big conversion by this off they're down now in this second half probably limited opportunities at this point in the game every chance you get your hands on the ball you need points they keep this drive alive right here still looking for that elusive touchdown but finally this offense is moving first down and 10 SS with Qui throw and he's out of bounds after gaining decent yardage one thing I love about this back is how he gets involved in the passing game nice catch here pass complete it's second down now quarterback drops back look going to test the secondary makes the grab it's Moore defense reacts quickly a very short gain on the play now it's third and short from the 22 you expect this is four down territory let's see what they do on third [Applause] down it's a quick grab great cut they whiff on him they finally stop him down at the five solid gain on that catching run but these guys clearly weren't even thinking about a field goal on this one they know that field goals won't win a game like this anyway so be aggressive and now it's first and goal the Tigers will line up now it's first and goal looking to throw again caught near the goal line and he's down at the three yd line offense facing second and [Applause] goal they'll try to run this one in and he runs it into the end zone touchdown [Applause] Clemson they're setting now to try the pat and he knocks it right [Applause] [Music] through now the kickoff team is out on the field kick Fields it inside the 5 yd line he'll be tackled at the 17 strong job by the coverage team and the Bulldogs offense is back out on the field the last possession they really had the passing game clicking move right down the field for a touchdown first play of the drive he looks left for a completion and that completion Kirk puts him over 300 yd passing today yeah anytime a quarterback has a day like this really an all has to come together with the offensive line play the receivers running these great routes and he's just in sync he's kind of in that zone right now and he'll be the first one to tell you how much his teammates have helped him out today and the running back takes the handoff we're gaining some breathing room now tackled at the 26 but I feel like they called that knowing chances are they're not going to hit a home run but look at this put themselves in a perfect third down situation it's much more manageable now we'll see if they can convert so a very makeable third down for this offense from the 26 yd line they'll try to move the chains here on the ground breaks loose at the 40 and bulldozing his way through and an explosive gain moves the ball across Midfield he Spott it at the 42 how impressive these guys been up front today big third down know what you need to do get the first down continue to hold on to that lead continue to work clock and get that much closer to securing a victory Georgia getting set with a first and 10 now tight end goes in motion before this snap quick throw that's an RPO caught on the left side and the defense swarms not much of a gain on that completion a game makes it second and medium oh it's a reverse tackled way behind the line he'll lose six there the defense there showed incredible discipline on the backside contained and that reverse wasn't going anywhere just textbook not going to be easy here backed up a long way to go for a first down on third down he drops to throw running back grabs it on a screen and the tackle is made the defense was ready for that screen they stop him short of the first down man and with that completion right there this quarterback now has gone over 300 yards in this game what a day so now on comes the field goal unit this will be a long range attemp 51 yds out and that one straight down the middle and they add to their lead boy this guy had plenty of leg here too TR you one of the days when a kick from 50 plus was a major accomplishment now these guys knock these out like they're almost automatic after adding three more points to the lead they're set to kick it off well he thought about coming out but instead takes a knee and to bring the football to the 25 yd line okay the Clemson offense heads back out onto the field here's the handoff it's a one yd gain second and nine coming up [Applause] motion by the back will make the defense adjust to throw it's Club Nick caught in the flat by the running back they'll actually lose yardage after the catch the defense all over in that time how about the discipline of this defense here on second down you're anticipating a pass they've got pretty much everybody covered and then once the back has the ball how about the speed to be able to bring him down now it's third down offense been in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down dropping back looking to throw for the first down looking to set up a screen pass here the screen doesn't produce a first down good work by the defense now it's Fourth Down the offense gets some positive yards here but they're going to be short of the first down marker to set up fourth down really good job by the defens of tackling and the awareness to keep him short of that first down Mark and the Tigers will line up to punt it [Applause] away bringing you back it's Evans coverage Chief brings down the returner and the powerful Georgia offense is back out on the field they got points on the board last time thanks to a long range field goal offense moving receivers around now before the snap the gain is three now it's second down and seven play action fake looking to throw looks downfield and connects with a wide open wide receiver and the gain just just good enough for a first down once you can establish the Run game the play action is so effective those linebackers eyes get caught up on the run then you pull the ball and you've got open targets behind him that's a great example of using the Run game to set up your play action they'll try the ground game here with the running back tackled behind the line it's a loss of two but it's not been their day as a defense but you can see they have not given up what a big hit into the back field that time what's the play call here on second down for this offense that's the wide receiver coming in motion now to the air it's Beck pressure is coming down goes the quarterback it's a sack well the offense tries to go with a play action to slow this defense down but they weren't buying they applied the pressure and came up with the [Applause] sack well Kirk it's Georgia on top so far hasn't been much of a contest so far and the stats will reflect that and as we enter the fourth quarter let's see if this game can get a little bit more competitive so after 4th quarter consecutive losses they got to come up with something here on Third and very long off the RPO caught to the right completion gains about six yards but now it's a fourth down call great job here by the defense third down and long you drop back in coverage keep everything in front of you force that quarterback to have to check the ball down and then you rally to the football to force this fourth down great job here by the D the dogs will have to kick it [Applause] away the pump will bounce out of bounds inside the 10 you can't do it any better than that and the powerful Clemson offense is back out out there they're coming off a quick three and out so looking to put something together in this drive with a little more urgency and it'll get the first down yards before they finally bring them down finally good for them they come up with a big play like this let's face it offense has been in a premium for these guys you wonder where plays like this have been all game long big guys up front lined up it's first [Applause] down looking to to throw it's Club Nick physical defending that one Falls incomplete brings up second down everything about this play tells you about today's offenses and what they're asking out of their running backs you can't just be a guy who runs the football anymore you have to be able to catch it as well and he didn't do a very good job of it on this play so second down after the incompletion and the quarterback drops back looking for an open man from the pocket delivers over the middle they make the tackle but that pass creates a solid game they find the slot receiver on a drag route that time yeah you don't really see this very often from the slot receiver on this drag route but a nice call here nice little wrinkle quarterback does a nice job of waiting for him to clear the traffic and then found him for a nice game looking to throw yet again pulls it in it's Randle tackles made but not before he makes the 43 yd line this drive is going now that's good execution of the pitch and catch to pick up the first down there nice conversion a really nice conversion here to me the route is what separated this play and the fact that he's able to get to this point downfield and by the time he turned around that ball is on him so nice route and nice hands there to be able to pick up the first down caught over the middle it's Williams they get him down but not before he gets to plus 38 Chris that's a great example of his arm strength he just fired the ball in there much quicker than the defense could even [Applause] react Clemson getting set with a first and 10 coming up quarterback drops back from the shotgun looking for a receiver finds his man it's brown defense makes the stop after the completion a fourth quarter down by a couple scores this offense doing everything they can to not just score points but do it in a hurry try to preserve the clock here they're tackled in bounds they don't pick up a first down good job by this defense to keep that clock moving dropping back it's Club Nick receiver makes the grab tackle but for down tackle is B when the junior quarterback shows off his arm strength that time fresh set of downs for the offense after that first down [Applause] completion quick throw complete to the tight end they bring down the receiver but that's a nice gain on that play that's the thing with this guy you've got the ability to flex him out he shows his versatility what he can do from that slop position he could be the quarterback safety blanket Clemson now operating in the red zone second down they're going to throw it bringing pressure trying to create outside the pocket but they've got him for a sack well that takes the wind right out of your Sails this offense is trying to find a way to get back into this game and another pressure and a sack against their quarterback now it's third and short from the 22 you expect this is four down territory let's see what they do on third down off play action he's looking to throw passes incomplete the defense affecting the quarterback with pressure there [Music] [Applause] the offense stays on the field down multiple possessions Easy Choice little eye candy here from the offense some pre- snap motion needs a completion here on fourth down grab down the middle it's Randall he's not going to get there the defense Rises up and makes a huge fourth down stop Chris what a great job here by this defense on this fourth down play they knew exactly where to come up with with that stop to get the turnover on downs and they did it second down after that previous play fakes the hand off looking to throw he's got an open man downfield and it's caught oh and he breaks free it's a foot race and they'll bring him down but this off creates a huge chunk play another big play for this offense Kirk they are not throttling back here even with a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter this defensive coverage seems one step behind the entire game even when they call the right coverage the offense has made the plays that they need to to be able to put points on the board the offense really clicking here shotgun formation here's an inside give second down after that run on the previous play movement here from the tight [Applause] end out of the shotgun he'll hand it off the sophore able to bring him down quickly so the offense getting set this is not where you want to be against this defense third and long dropping back look get a throw for the first down caught over the middle it's love it game moves the ball the 21 and a fresh set of downs well he's been their go-to guy all game long they needed a big play there on third down they go his way again and it works out this Georgia offense is moving quickly down the field grab behind the line it's skuret the defense drops him for a loss he went backwards there a second down behind the sticks now you know what separates good defenses from great defenses is you're going to give up some catches but what do you do after the offense makes a reception are you giving up much space are you giving up yards after the catch here just a really good job by this defense yeah they gave up a reception but right there to make a nice tackle for a loss he's got it right near the end zone and they stop him just short of the end zone the offense set up with a first and goal now man they're already up big in this game and now they're taking shots down field they're just looking to pour it on right now still throwing the football in vertical shots to boot the dogs line it up with first and goal on the ground trying to muscle it across the line touchdown Georgia this one is getting ugly TR you talk about having a day this offense just goes out they don't they're not even looking at the scoreboard they're just going out executing the play call and continuing to put points on the board [Applause] and they'll set up for the pat p is good as they build on this big lead now they get set to kick it [Applause] away bringing it out it's Williams tackle at the 13 not great field position to start the drive okay the Clemson offense heads back out onto the field on First and 10 look at a throw catch made on the out route well playing with the lead good job by this defense to keep the receiver in bounds try to keep that clock moving trying to secure a victory that completion makes it second and medium looking to pass it's Club Nick to screen pass complete to the running back and they're finally able to stop him but great execution on the screen pass fooled the defense there well this is great execution here on this screen play to the running back to pick up big yards in the first down I think in a process Chris they send a message to the defense you can Rush our a quarterback all you want but when you do you better be careful cuz we're going to throw this green on you on First and 10 they'll look to throw it that one Falls incomplete good defensive play brings up second Down Chris I thought he had his hands on that football I thought he was going to come down with it but give the defense all the credit with a big hit to knock that ball loose so after the incompletion it's second down here's the snap quarterback drops back makes the grab it's Randle He bring it down but he makes the three yd line that's a solid game I feel like this quarterback can make this throw in his sleep it's like clockwork a cruel route against Zone and the quarterback the only thing is he had to fit it into a tight window for that first down completion cson getting set with a first and 10 now looking to Chuck it again and it's incomplete he just missed his Target overthrowing it you know I I like the quarterback's patience here and instead of trying to force the issue and squeeze the ball into coverage he just decides to just basically throw it away and live for the next down second and 10 after the previous play there's the snap quarterback setting up to throw the sh hands it's mafa that's a much better job by this quarterback of working through his progressions we've seen him earlier try to force some throws trying to make a big play this time works through his progressions checks it down to the flat and picks up some positive yards third down here time for perhaps one more play before the two-minute warning that's the two-minute warning here this offense desperate to cut into this lead and then try to get the football back crucial third down play coming up back to pass it's Club Nick the pass rush closing in the throw complete to the running back underneath they wrap him up but the gain is good enough for a first [Music] down a new set of downs after that completion on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball looking for a deep completion but this one is broken up Ball's incomplete boy this offense has really struggled today Chris when it comes to throwing the football they have dug themselves a huge hole they're not going to have any chance of coming back and I think one thing about this is you wonder where you go from here you're hoping to make a play or two to give yourself a belief that things can get better but it's just been a disastrous day for the offense defense has coming after him and he just throws it away there safe move had nobody open how about the defense today they have played so well I think the defensive coordinator put together a great plan his kids clearly understood their scheme because they have been aggressive and attacking all game long they're backed up here trying to make something happen on Third and long dropping back he going to throw for the first down and it's incomplete again fourth down coming up whoa you talking about a big hit there I think this guy holds on to this football at a critical third down if this linebacker doesn't lower the blow great timing on that hit to prevent the pi call and to get this team to fourth down the Tigers will have to punt this one away and no chance for a return as the punch sails out of bounds and the Georgia offense is back out on the field this has been a tremendous performance by this team now just the finishing touches run out the clock and let the party begin what down after picking up five yds so second and five just another example this offense Chris doing pretty much whatever they want to do they've been able to run the football offensive lines held their own in pass protection quarterbacks had an outstanding day you had all that up there a big reason why they're up by such a wide margin now it's second down here and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one man every defensive coordinator will tell you I just want my guys to play fast and how about that one right there he almost ends up tackling the quarterback as he's handing the ball off this offense is lucky they didn't end up fumbling offense breaks a huddle and get set it's third down and and there's the handoff and a short run there to end the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] game e [Applause] [Applause]
