Projecting the Final CFP Rankings for 2024-25

the wait is almost over the 2024 college football season begins tomorrow we've now completed all of our predictions gone through every single power four team giving you Recaps of each conference showed you our predictions for the conference Championship Games also our playoff predictions all the way up to the National Championship all the predictions are done as we again now move to the start of the college football season but I also like to go through and predict what the top 25 is going to look like so the final rankings before the playoff begins and that's what we're going to do here in this video again you you've kind of already seen what the top is going to look like because of the playoff prediction video but we're going to go all the way through actually to 30 teams I know there's only a top 25 but there are five other teams that I think will be in consideration so I wanted to go a little bit further go ahead and push it all the way out to 30 teams and again this is how I believe the rankings will look at the end of the season so top five we got Georgia and Ohio State at the top then Oregon Texas and miss again we're looking at just the top 25 not necessarily the playoff seating but just how the teams would be ranked because of course you're going to have the four Conference champions in the top four spots but yeah Oregon would be at number three then Texas number four Old Miss at five but again in our playoff bracket those teams would have been five six and seven uh so that's your top five and then we're going to go to number six Miami who again would be three in the playoff rankings or the playoff bracket and Utah would be four but they're seven here in these rankings we had Miami winning the ACC Championship Utah winning the Big 12 championship and then Clemson at 11- two after a loss to Miami in the ACCC Championship they drop a little bit Notre Dame and Penn State at 9 and 10 both teams finishing 10 and two and having pretty similar resumes I think Notre Dame would be just a little bit better and that's why they're ahead of the nitty Lions all right now let's go to this where it gets a little bit more interesting again if you have because if you've watched our our playoff predictions uh you already PR much knew this but how about 11 through 15 so Oklahoma State at number 11 again they got the final spot in the playoff then Michigan Al LSU Alabama and Iowa and we talked about it in that video I think these teams would be very close in the rankings I I'm not 100% convinced that this is how they would be ranked Iowa would have a pretty weak resume compared to even these three lost teams so I do think they would be at 15 um Michigan's going to have the best losses LSU and Alabama both will have better wins but LSU beat Alabama head tohe head I think that's why LSU would come in here one spot ahead of the Crimson Tide but again I I think Oklahoma state would be ranked the highest because they would be 10- two in the regular season and they'd have a pretty good resume and I don't know what the view is going to be for the playoff committee but if I was was doing this I would actually have a rule in place that if you play in a conference Championship game and you lose a team that does not play in a conference Championship Game cannot jump ahead of you in the rankings I think it would be ridiculous um well if that did happen let's say Oklahoma State they go to the big 12 Championship they lose and then Michigan or LSU Alabama don't even they don't even play for their conference Championship they're just sitting at home and they jump ahead of Oklahoma State because they lost that's penalizing teams for making it Conference Championship games I could go on a whole rant about that um so I think that would be wrong I don't know if the committee I don't know how they're going to view that it will be very interesting to see if it does come up and I guess it probably will come up so we'll see if those teams now I'd have no problem if a team loses in in a conference Championship game and another team that won their conference Championship Game jumped ahead of them so that that's fine but I'm just talking about the teams that don't play in a conference Championship at all so anyways that's 11 through 15 16 through 20 we got Tennessee at number 16 finishing 9 and three uh then Auburn at 17 also finishing 9 and3 Texas A&M that number 18 at 9 and three so a good cluster of SEC teams and I think they're going to kind of beat up on each other and and ultimately that's going to keep the SEC from getting more than than three or four teams in the playoff uh Wisconsin at number 19 I think they're the highest ranked eight and four team USC behind them at number 20 Wisconsin would have the head-to-head win over the Trojans that's why they're ranked ahead of them and they've got a really tough both of these teams have really tough schedules I think they will be rewarded for that and I think they'll wind up in the rankings higher than some 9 and3 teams just because of their resume and because of the schedule that they would have played and we'll show you what an example of that so I think they'll be ahead of Kansas state Florida State even though those teams finishing 9 and three um but that's where we've got the Wildcats and simol Memphis comes in number 23 at 11-2 I think they lose one game I think they lose Florida State and that's why they're right behind them and then they lose one other game in the regular season uh so Memphis again they make the playoff as the highest ranked group of five Champion Missouri and NC State round things out vots teams finishing 9 and three but neither team really having a great resume um and that's why again they're behind some of those 8 and4 teams and even Memphis here so I said I would go even further we're going to go now to 26 through 30 um and here we go all right so these teams would have an argument might wind up in the rankings we'll see Virginia Tech at 9 and three then SMU also at 9 and three these this tells you my predictions are probably not going to be very accurate um in totality because I don't think we're going to see nine and three teams unranked but it could play out that way and again if you the thing is the teams at the bottom that I have winning uh two or three or four games those teams are probably going to win more games and it's probably going to knock some of these nine and three teams down to eight and four um that's probably the way it's going to go we'll see maybe we do see some 9 and3 teams outside the top 25 Nebraska at 8 and4 another team with a decent resume and an eight and4 team Boise State they I think would be in the running to be the the highest ranked group of five Champion but I don't think they they're quite going to make it and then Oklahoma with a brutal schedule I think they would be very close to being ranked even at just 7 and five they would have some good wins and again five losses but to good teams so I think Oklahoma would have an argument to the top 25 despite a seven and five record so that's how I've got the teams uh being ranked at the end of the season there were some other eight and four teams that did not quite make it in resume is just not quite strong enough West Virginia we had at 8 and4 Texas Tech 8 and4 TCU at 8-4 uh Kansas at 8-4 so several 8-4 teams um that again could possibly be considered I'm just kind of looking through my predictions North Carolina had at 8 and4 uh so again they had a pretty weak schedule I don't think they would be really considered Louisville uh just kind of lacking wins that's why they don't finish ranked and I think that's probably it so uh that's that's going to do it for our predictions again the season's going to start tomorrow should be a great game between Florida State and Georgia Tech also interested in that Nevada SMU game see what the Mustangs look like uh but yeah college football is here week zero then we'll get into our normal videos for week one I I'll give you an update at top 25 we'll do the upset alert the playoff Eliminator all of that uh coming up as we again
