afternoon can you tell us about the cornerback situation as it stands with what injuries who's definitely out obviously we know one guy that is briy is definitely out we'll see about Hayes we'll see about Zion and then obviously when was in the boot we'll see about him later on the week as well x-ray wise for for can tell hasn't come back yet you know he got his late this morning for Winfield it seemed like he was able to finish the game what happened there hady hson he got H one of the last two plays of the game uh in regulation he was on the onside team he couldn't go out there for the onside team so he's pretty sore with the I Fields so most likely you'll probably have to go outside the organization I would assume to sign a player in two do you think we'll see how these guys do and eventually we'll work some out and if we need to get somebody we'll get somebody for Bryce uh is that necessarily a season any for him or is it kind of like be a couple years ago where it's early enough he might be to come back haven't heard all that but from what I know it's probably season ending requ surgery I'm pretty sure he should as far as uh because I know you you're big on cross training your guys I think T Thomas like 2018 maybe he lined up Corner um I know you've got some safeties on the practice squad is there anybody else that has experience there and of course thunderberg you know he was an active uh but anybody else outside of that that has experience outside well you went further back in Tavia than I have so as far as I know I'm sure some of them played it in high school but we'll work out some guys if we need to get a corner we'll get one it's difficult trying to contain j Daniels just with his his speed and ability to escape but as far as generating pressure how do you think the defense did in that aspect I don't think we pressured as much as we typically do because of who he was in our Corner situation so we had to cover a lot more and without uh kijah and Logan that left some of the foot speed on the inside we had better run guys but we couldn't chase him around as much as we wanted to so he got out the pocket a little more but not to let McLaughlin loose you know we had to cover what we needed to cover Elijah had a calf injury is this the same calf that he injured before Le last year or is it the other one uh I'm pretty sure it's the same one and what happened just he aggravated on Friday or he aggravated on Friday you were without Kyan Hall in week one could you have them back this week we'll see you see out of vaker yesterday that just made him so efficient finishing the day with darn perfect pass rating I he was locked in guys did a good job Liam did a good job dialing up plays for him he he threw it to the guys and let him run if it wasn't there down the field he threw it short if it was there he threw it down the field and you know they did a good job blocking for himim Mar had said to his team um that he feels like NFL teams make the biggest jump from week one to week two is that something that you would agree with and why if so why why do you think that might be the case I don't know if you make the biggest jump but you got to correct the things that you did wrong in week one and I think that's going to last all year and week one is more of the unknown where you don't know what they're going to do and they don't know what you're going to do and the penalties are high and they're focusing on a lot of things so you want to dial that stuff down so as far as that's concerned hopefully that's the case this is the first we saw kind of the Shar Grill linebacker with BR in on early downs and zasia coming in in the nickel how did that work how do you feel like the The Exchange went on that the exchange was fine I mean it's a good rotation between the three guys two guys and then Levante plays all of them but it's a good rotation you watch Bucky Irving I we talked about how he looked in the preseason certainly had a good first game you're not getting a lot of yards for carry from the shot this is his third season at what point you does the eyeball test just tell you hey this guy is could be our better back right now the yall test tells me that both of them we're going to need both of them this season and the holes got to be there for Rashad at the same time you know it opened up later in the game for Bucky but that doesn't mean Rashad is playing bad you know Rashad had a lot of receptions he had had some yards receiving wise so it kind of worked out for us and had a good one-w punch we'll need both of them the whole season is the key to to getting by without three defensive linemen when you did it seemed like be and gained both played a good deal more but you kind of got good snaps from the practice qu calls and even still there well trying to shut down the run a lot of them guys are run oriented uh playing wise and we just got to get a better of P push and a pass rush from there but those guys played in the preseason Brewer's been here for two years now not a little longer than that obviously Mike Green has been here before he got hurt last year and he's been here this year Still's probably the new guy still learning but we have faith in those guys playing football probably not as quick as Logan not as quick as cany but they play good ball the ability to distribute the ball to so many weapons on the offense is that going to be this offense is calling hard this year that's going to be what Mak so dangerous hopefully you know it's got to be different guys to step up every week whether it's the Run game or the pass game whe it's going to be different people stepping up and we hope everybody contributes how about the offensive line how do you think overall because I know Tristy really hard didn't get many snaps um what you think after you look at the team for the first game I mean we got to make progress we did a lot of good things there some things we can clean up it's not going to be clean all the way around that's what the first game is for I thought they put together good drives in the second half especially to close the game out uh early on we let a a stun or two get through there but overall they played well their down efficiency was really good for the offense yesterday just your thoughts on how important that was to to getting the win kept drives going you know it kept drives going when you can be efficient on third down and you don't give up many third Downs it's you going to win a lot of ball games talked about how iian stepped in you know completely out of position I think 31 snaps is outside corner that that worked in a pinch could would you rep him as an outside corner this week as kind of part of the short-term solution well we'll see where Winfield is for first if not he's going to have to play safety so we'll see where that isach Detroit did you have a chance to watch them all last night what what is their calling card I mean it looked like in overtime they just ran theol you know right down there I definitely didn't stay up that late um I stayed up enough to eat dinner and go to bed because I knew I have to watch them all day to day but they're very balanced very strong up front they can beat you both ways running the ball or throwing the ball very physical team very fast on the outside very fast in the Back Field very athletic at tight end they can beat you a bunch of ways they don't have one way to beat you so you got to be sharp on all accounts you think Jer golf has had success against your defense in particular over the last few years they played well he's got a lot of weapons they played well and we haven't so you give them credit I you've seen a lot as a coach and as a player but have you been part of a situation before where um you've been so um going into a game potentially decimated at at one position at the cornerback position positions you know arguably one of the most athletic positions on on a football team uh I mean I've been different positions where they've been hurt before but we have guys that got to step up a couple years ago our Corners were down and we had Delaney and Pierre deer and a lot of guys step up in that situation so you make this team for a reason you know guys got to play we have to see something in them for them to make this team and they got to go out there and play what have you seen in Tyreek okay what's your level of confidence approaching I thought he needed a week to get in shape to get back in football shape but if he has to play this week I'm very comfortable with him playing we think he's a very good football player he just hadn't been out there yet Coach how satisfied were you with play Joe TR sh yesterday thought Joe did well he did a lot of things well yesterday some things he can do better but he did a lot of things well it must have been the haircut anything else okay
