and now he happens to make it to the Little League World Series only the second time ever Cuba's been represented here and now he's playing in a Winner's bracket game against a power and he is battling right now at the plate all smiles and joy you can see look at her it's incredible there is the story lines here in Williamsport every year will move you to tears just like some of the baseball players when they get hits marloon It's just absolutely fascinating and it's a joy to be here this is where dreams and family come together bouncer up the middle in the center field a base two different batting gloves just in case for when he gets on first it's a strike from Li Shang XI he's I think he has two different pairs of batting so he has one on his hands and two pairs of batting gloves in his back pocket he's basically Dick Sporting Good that looks like a major league glove too maybe he got it from a player yesterday I don't know this one hits swing a but he offered instead a called strike so you'd be a few strides in on the grass yeah a few more three or four steps he's fast he's fast enough with the runner at second time call Tuesday as far as I [Music] know Davy Hernandez threw 74 pitches on Thursday which means he needs four days of rest so that means Friday Saturday Sunday Monday he can't pitch next day he can pitch is tomorrow so Cuba needs a backup plan here El okay thank you this the tricky part about the whole thing here he trying to remember which guy threw what it's understandable and In fairness to everyone involved there is a language barrier that goes into it as well especially in the international bracket and I'm I'm glad that they come out right away and say and don't make them throw one pitch and then all of a sudden something will go through that's good on Little League's part to know the pitch count and make sure they're on top of it we've had pitching limits in Place at Little League since 2006 before that it was Innings pitch so if you're of a certain age watching this you remember it when you were that age growing up we've had almost 20 years now where it's based on pitch count and when you're 11 years old and 12 years old the pitch limit per day is 85 pitches you see Davey who's a 12-year-old threw 74 pitches on Thursday so as eager as he was to come into this game from right fields in a jam with two on and nobody out protecting a one-run lead he's got to load up all those batting gloves back into his pocket and head back out to right field so plan B is Alejandro Vasquez comes in from short he's on the mound next the ball will play anywhere in the middle and field it's a hit ooh that just missed that's a good pitch right there if you get a view of that to see how that middle this is the good stuff the Little League World Series pair of one run games already another here in the fifth 3-1 is a called strike three and two why wouldn't we get three balls in a row and then two strikes here we go and every team here is good so now going in the next game they're going to have to get on teams early and often and I'm in that often part A lot it would be a matchup tomorrow against Mexico 5:00
